Mitch stayed hidden after the children had finished the time machine. He knew he couldn't just ambush them, because he had no idea how to use the machine. He'd overheard them mention that they planned to travel back in time to when their parents were children, which would make his plan all too easy. Not only would he be able to make contact with his past self, but he would be able to eliminate Phineas and Ferb while they were still children, effectively ruining their lives.

Meanwhile Phineas, Ferb, Isabella and Vanessa were all rushing back to their neighbourhood, hoping to pick up their children before anything bad happened. While they couldn't know what Mitch was planning, they knew they couldn't take any risks when it came to their kids. Meap explained everything to Phineas and Ferb while they were in Phineas' car, he had managed to salvage his universal translator that made him sound like an old British man.

"So you see Mitch plans to eliminate you guys, because he believes that with you out of the way he'll finally be able to defeat me!" explained Meap.

"He just doesn't give up does he?" asked Phineas.

"Well even after we put him in a time out for three days, he still didn't learn his lesson," said Meap.

"Meap, I know your planet's society is based around being cute, but you might want to rethink your punishment system," said Ferb.

"We actually agreed to discuss that after I take him into custody and return home," said Meap.

"Regardless, we have to stop him," said Phineas. "But first we need to get our kids to safety, we don't want them getting involved in this. I know we got into battles with Mitch when we were their age, but I don't know if they've faced a threat to this extreme as yet."

Meap smiled at how much Phineas and Ferb loved their kids.

Back in the Flynn backyard all were excited to test the time machine, Sean just had to finish entering in the desired date.

"Ok, this should allow us to go back to roughly the middle of summer when my Dad and Uncle Ferb were ten," said Sean.

"And when my Mum was sixteen," said Rose.

"Rose, we already agreed that the second trip will be to when your Mum was ten, could you let it go?" asked Sean.

"I'm sorry, I just think it sucks that we still won't get to hang out with her just because she wasn't in our Dad's main group of friends," said Rose. "That and she's a lot older than they are."

"Hey at least you might get to see your Mum, at that point in time, my Mum was still living in France," stated Griff, son of Buford and Brigitte Van Storm. "Not all of us will get to see both parents as kids.

Griff looked nearly identical to his father, which included being slightly overweight with a flat nose and a buzz cut, but he had his mother's black hair and tanned skin tone. Unlike his father he didn't have a tooth sticking out of his mouth, but his dress sense was similar to that of his father, but his skull logoed shirt was white instead of black.

"Alright Griff I'm sorry," said Rose. "What about you Scarlett, are you eager to see your parents when they were young?"

"Oh definitely. I'm eager to see if my Dad was just as big a nerd then as he is now," said Scarlett, daughter of Baljeet and Ginger Tjinder. "I might also get to see my Aunt Stacy as a teenager as she was best friends with your Aunt Candace.

Scarlett had curly black hair like her father and shared his Indian skin tone, but her Japanese eyes and oval shaped head came from her mother. She was currently wearing a Fireside Girl uniform like the one worn by her mother.

"Hey Terri, are you sure most of the Fireside Girls are ok with staying behind and guarding the machine?" asked Sean.

"Yeah, because let's face it, if too many of us go it'll be hard to keep track of everyone. Besides we don't want a bad person getting their hands on it," said Terri.

"No, no we don't," said Sean.

The people going were Sean, Rose, Terri, Kenny, Scarlett, Griff and one other girl named Tiffany.

"So Sean, are you sure it's ok that I'm coming as well?" asked Tiffany.

"For sure Tiffany, besides your parents were close friends of my parents, I'm sure we'll run into them," said Sean.

Tiffany Brown was the daughter of Django and Adyson Brown. She had her father's shaggy brown hair and blue eyes, but her mother's rosy pink skin tone and nose. Like Scarlett she too was dressed in a Fireside girl uniform, but unlike her mother's hers had sleeves.

They were about to set off, Sean turned the time machine on and a bright green portal appeared before them. It was at this time, Mitch knew he had to put his plan into action.

"You're not going anywhere," said Mitch.

All the kids turned to look at him. They were surprisingly unscarred.

"Who're you?" asked Sean.

"What your father never mentioned me?" asked Mitch.

"No and even if he did, I think I'd recognise him mentioning a pale guy in a devil costume with a silly moustache," said Sean.

"My moustache is not silly, it's menacing," said Mitch.

Although he claimed to know their fathers, no one present had a clue who this guy was.

"Are you Khaka Peü Peü?" asked Terri.

"No Terri, Khaka Peü Peü was that guy Dad and Uncle Ferb fought as The Beak. We fought him earlier this summer remember?" asked Sean.

"Oh, he was silly," laughed Terri.

They suggested other villains Phineas and Ferb had faced as children, but they all had a feeling this guy wasn't them. The name Mitch had never been mentioned. Mitch was quickly loosing patience with the children.

"ENOUGH!" yelled Mitch. "Now hand over the time machine and you won't get hurt."

"We're not handing you this time machine, do you have any idea how dangerous this could be in the wrong hands?" asked Rose. "And even if we wanted to, we couldn't."

"Why not?" asked Mitch.

"Because it's very heavy. We physically can't lift it," said Sean.

Mitch didn't like the smart attitude these kids were displaying. At this moment Phineas and Ferb pulled up in the driveway of the Flynn residence and bolted into the backyard with Meap following closely behind. To their horror they realised they were too late.

"Get away from the kids!" yelled Phineas.

"Dad what're you doing here, I thought you had an important meeting?" asked Sean.

Mitch had feeling this would be the best time to make his move. He opened his mouth and a death beam of pink energy shot from his mouth. Meap tried to counter this with his own rainbow death beam, but the crash had weakened him, and he was overpowered. No one was hit by Mitch's attack, but the power of the beam caused Phineas, Ferb and Meap to fall to the ground.

"DAD, UNCLE PHINEAS!" yelled Rose.

Being an expert in karate, she was ready to fight Mitch, but he shot a death beam at the children, forcing them to jump out of the way and created a large dust cloud in the Flynn's backyard.

"Is everyone ok?" asked Sean, as the dust cleared.

Everyone confirmed so.

With everyone distracted Mitch knew that it was now or never. He ran to the portal.

"Goodbye everyone, I hope you enjoyed your life, because it's about to be erased," he laughed, before jumping through the portal.

Everyone took some time to contemplate what had just happened, while Isabella and Vanessa arrived and were horrified by what they saw.

"Are you guys, ok?" asked Isabella, as she and Vanessa ran to their children.

"Yeah Mum we're fine. It's Dad and Uncle Ferb you should worry about," said Sean.

Isabella and Vanessa went to check on their husbands.

"Phineas, what happened?" asked Isabella helping her husband to his feet.

"It's Mitch, he's back," said Phineas.

"Who's Mitch?" asked Vanessa, helping Ferb.

"You know that cute alien Meap I told you about?" asked Ferb.

"Yeah."

"Mitch is his arch nemesis," said Ferb.

"Oh dear," said Vanessa.

"Let's focus on what's important, we need to figure out where he's gone," stated Meap.

Sean and Rose knew exactly where he'd gone. Or rather when he'd gone, but they didn't know how to explain this to their fathers'. Considering how angry they got after Rose and Sean accidently resurrected an entire cemetery as ghosts, they didn't want to know how angry their fathers' might get for building a time machine and then letting an enemy escape to the past. However, they knew Phineas and Ferb would quickly figure it out, so Sean and Rose thought it'd be better to just come clean.

"Well, we saw him run into a portal generated from that machine," stated Phineas, who's tone then changed from neutral to angry. "Sean, Rose."

"Yes Dad?"

"Yes Uncle Phineas?"

"What is that?" asked Phineas through closed teeth.

"A time machine," said Sean weakly.

Now they'd done it. The parents were beyond furious.

"Everyone who's not a Flynn-Fletcher you are to leave right this instant," ordered Isabella.

"But troupe master Flynn?" asked Scarlett.

"Now," said Isabella.

All the kids cleared out leaving behind only Sean, Rose, Terri, Kenny, their parents and Meap.

"Sean, don't lie to me were you and Rose the ones who came up with this?" asked Phineas.

Sean and Rose exchanged a glance.

"Yes," said Sean.

"Terri, inside now," said Phineas.

"You too Kenneth," said Ferb.

Terri grabbed Kenny's hand and led him inside, leaving Sean and Rose to face their fathers' wrath.

"Do you two have any idea what you've done?" asked Phineas.

"Your actions have possibly put the entire space time continuum in danger," said Ferb.

"What's worse you've allowed an extremely dangerous criminal to escape to the past," said Phineas.

"How were we supposed to know he'd be here today?" asked Sean.

"That's not the point. You should've taken this into consideration before you did this," said Phineas.

"We were gonna leave people to guard it," said Rose.

"Having seen what Mitch can do, do you really think they would've been able to stop him?" asked Ferb.

"You guys' time travelled when you were young," said Sean.

"We never did anything that could've altered the space time continuum," said Phineas firmly.

"Wait, didn't you tell us that you travelled to the future when you were young and then Aunt Candace stole the time machine and travelled to the past to ensure her teenage self could finally get Granma Flynn to bust you after which she returned to a dystopian world that was ruled by a dictator?" asked Rose.

The parents all softened a little as they exchanged looks.

"Yeah, that wasn't Candace's finest moment," said Ferb rubbing his neck.

"I'm pretty sure Candace also said it was your father who was the dictator," whispered Isabella to Vanessa.

"Shh, I thought we agreed that while we can tell the kids my dad was a mad scientist, we don't mention that he was an evil scientist," said Vanessa.

"Oh, right sorry," said Isabella.

Phineas felt he needed to get the conversation back on track.

"You're missing the point kids. Do you not realise what could happen because of this? This is why we ask you to consult us before you undertake an activity, because you just don't seem to consider what could happen if something goes wrong," said Phineas.

This infuriated Sean and Rose.

"How can you lecture us on doing something dangerous?" asked Sean.

"After everything you guys did as children! I think you're the last people who have any right to lecture us," said Rose.

"We already told you. We only did those things because we believed we had permission from our parents. You two go out of your way to deceive us," said Phineas.

"We've also told you that when you become a parent you see things in a new light," said Ferb.

Sean and Rose couldn't believe what they were hearing. It was at this point they felt they needed to tell their parents the cold hard truth.

"Do you wanna know why we built this time machine?" asked Sean.

"Why?" asked Phineas.

"Because we wanted to go back to a time where you could spend time with us," said Rose.

This caused the parents to lighten their expressions.

"Also, you wanna know why we even started inventing in the first place?" asked Sean, but he didn't wait for an answer. "It's because we were trying to get your attention. You never make time for us, you do nothing but work."

"We didn't even care if we got punished. We've actually been building stuff all summer and not telling you because we thought if it caught your attention you guys would take time off work to ensure we kept out of trouble," said Rose.

"But no matter what we do or how dangerous our inventions are, you never seem to notice. And even when you did, you still barely gave us any of your time. You usually handed the punishments off to Mum, Aunt Nessa or some other family member," said Sean.

"All we wanted was family time, which seems to be the one thing none of you want to give us," stated Rose.

Phineas, Ferb Isabella and Vanessa were finally starting to see just how much they had hurt their children by not spending time with them. They looked at each other and without saying anything they knew they should come clean.

"Sean, Rose, listen, we've always known what you were up to," said Phineas.

"What?" asked Sean surprised.

"I overheard you guys talking after you built that Rollercoaster and I quickly realised you guys were doing this for our attention," said Phineas.

Sean and Rose couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"We decided not to tell you guys, because we wanted to see just how far you would go for attention. We also wanted to see how much potential you guys had for inventing," said Isabella.

"And if you want to know the truth, we're very proud of you two," said Vanessa.

"You've built such amazing things. Some of which we could only dream of building as kids," said Ferb.

All of this fell on deaf ears.

"You guys knew we just wanted to spend time with you and you still ignored us?" asked Sean who was close to crying.

"Yes, but only because we wanted to see your full potential," said Phineas.

"You guys are unbelievable," said Rose close to tears herself.

They all felt really bad. They had a feeling that no explanation would make up for what they had done.

"Wait a minute, so you all knew? Not just Dad and Uncle Ferb?" asked Sean.

"Yes, we all knew," said Isabella.

"Is that why you've been ignoring me?" asked Sean to Isabella. "The one parent I can actually count on for family time."

Isabella couldn't think of an answer that wouldn't upset her son further, but her silence told Sean that the answer was yes.

"What about you?" asked Rose to Vanessa. "You said you quit touring to spend more time with me and Kenny, but you've barely paid any attention to me all summer. Were you going along with the plan as well?"

Vanessa also hesitated, confirming Rose's suspicions.

"Rose, I'm sorry I..." Vanessa trailed off when she saw the hurt look in her daughter's eyes.

Phineas and Isabella saw a similar look in Sean's eyes.

"I can't believe you guys," said Sean, who turned and walked away.

"Neither can I," said Rose following.

"Sean, wait come back," said Phineas, but he was ignored.

"Rosemary Charlene Fletcher, you get back here right this instant," ordered Vanessa.

Isabella and Vanessa were about to chase after them, but Phineas and Ferb put their arms in front of them and shook their heads.

"I think after everything they've heard they're gonna want some time alone," said Phineas.

In that moment they knew for certain that their decision to keep their children in the dark had been the wrong choice. They felt they had failed as parents.

Ahh nothing like a bit of family drama to make a story more dramatic. Thanks for reading. Please let me know what you think and more will be out soon.
