Welcome back to Battles Through Time. I just want to take the time and thank everyone for reading my story. I must sadly announce however, that this will be the last chapter I post for the remainder of the year, as I'm spending the holidays with my family. Until then any feed back would be greatly appreciated and will be taken into consideration for future chapters. Until then happy reading.

Next Generation and other OC's created by me.

Sean, Rose, Terri, and Kenny fell through a large green gateway. They saw glimpses of the past appear before them, but none of them stayed long enough to take it all in. Before long they saw a light at the edge of the gateway. They landed on a big pile of garbage. In fact, there was garbage all around them.

"Eww, Sean, why'd you send us to the middle of a dump?" asked Rose dusting garbage off herself.

"I didn't, as Kenny said the machine only travels through time, meaning although we're in a different time period we should be in the same location as when we left," said Sean.

"Actually, if we're traveling through time, wouldn't it be more likely that we'd end up in the middle of space? Because the Earth is always moving, meaning that while we'd be in the same position as when we left, the earth would be in a different spot. By all accounts we should be frozen in space right now," said Terri.

"Terri, please don't question how time travel works you'll just end up confusing the audience," said Sean.

"Sorry."

"That still doesn't explain how we ended up in a dump. Shouldn't we still be in your backyard?" asked Rose.

"Yes, yes we should," said Sean.

"Sean, I think this is our back yard," said Terri.

"What do mean?" asked Sean.

"A while ago I went for my biographer's patch by writing a biography on Daddy. Among Daddy and Uncle Ferb's earlier achievements were finding economically friendly ways to dispose of all kinds of wastes, allowing them to clear-up dump sites all over the world. They then used the extra land space to help build more buildings and suburban neighbourhoods. They would eventually call one of the neighbourhoods their home," stated Terri.

It didn't take Sean and Rose long to realise they were still in the Flynn's backyard, the neighbourhood just hadn't been built yet.

"Wait, so you mean we live on what used to be a garbage dump?" asked Sean.

"Yup," said Terri.

"I can't tell if that's really cool, or really gross," said Rose.

"Well at least we know the time machine works," said Sean.

"Good point," said Rose. "Now what?"

"I say we get to solid ground first," said Sean.

They trudged their way through the mountains of garbage until they found an area of solid earth. Something told them that getting to their grandparents would be a little more difficult than they originally thought. Even if they could get out of this sea of garbage, their grandparents lived in a different part of town, which would take them hours to reach on foot. Rose then realised that maybe landing in a garbage dump was a blessing in disguise. With all the discarded equipment lying around they could likely build a machine to speed up their trip. They broke up into teams of two. Wanting to keep an eye on their younger siblings, Sean went with Terri, while Rose went with Kenny. They returned with all the usable equipment they could find. They had decided to build a motorised go-cart. Thankfully, Terri had saved them the trouble of needing to draw blueprints. She knew getting to their grandparent's house in the past could be a problem, so she made sure to bring go-cart blueprints she had made for a Fireside Girls patch.

The parts they managed to find in the dump proved effective substitutes. They even managed to recreate the solar based power source and conveniently it was a very clear day. The only problem was the go-cart couldn't reach the same speed as the original, but they decided this was probably for the best, especially considering that Terri's original go-cart could reach speeds comparable to a formular one racing car. After pushing it out of the garbage dump, they hopped in with Terri and Sean in the front, Rose and Kenny in the back. Given that the go-cart was Terri's design they felt it was only fair that she drove. They were also thankful that they didn't need a licence to drive a go-cart.

Having visited their grandparents many times they knew exactly where to go. They were amazed by their surroundings. Even though they travelled through a familiar landscape, Danville looked very different to what they remembered. Phineas and Ferb had had such an impact on the world's technological advancement, that a mere 25 years in the past made the current generation of Flynn-Fletcher's feel as if they had travelled back to the olden days. Sean and Rose were starting to realise just how much their fathers had done for the world, making them again feel guilty about getting angry for their neglect. Suddenly Terri pulled the go-cart to a stop.

"Terri what're you doing?" asked Sean.

"We have to wait for the walk signal."

"Seriously?" asked Rose.

"Hey, we might be here to save the time stream, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna break any laws," said Terri.

"I'm pretty sure we've already broken many laws by stealing things from the dump. And we built this without permits," said Sean.

"Whatever, I'm still not moving till the signal changes," stated Terri. "I don't want to draw any unwanted attention."

One would think that driving through Danville in a high-tech go-cart would've already generated attention from the public, but most people didn't bat an eyelid as the gang drove past. Sean and Rose knew that their fathers had already generated quite a reputation by this point, so the people of Danville probably thought a group of kids in a go-cart was normal. It was then Rose realised that one of them was missing.

"Um where's Kenny?" asked Rose.

Terri slammed on the brakes. Sean spotted Kenny running across the street.

"KENNY GET BACK HERE," yelled Rose jumping from the cart and running after him.

She managed to catch up to Kenny on the other side of the street and grabbed him.

"Kenny, Mum and Dad put me in charge of you and I told you to stay with us," scolded Rose.

"Umm can I help you," said a voice.

Rose stopped in her tracks. The voice sounded a little different, but she recognised it instantly. Rose looked up. Standing in front of them was sixteen-year-old Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, along with a few other people Rose recognised from photographs. It took all of Rose's will power to not blurt out the word 'Mum'.

"Sorry, I think he mistook you for someone we know," said Rose.

Vanessa kneeled and examined them. Vanessa couldn't explain why, but she had a feeling she'd seen these kids before.

"Do I know you?" asked Vanessa.

"No," said Rose quickly. "Um, we only just moved to Danville, we don't know anyone here."

Vanessa still couldn't shake the feeling that she knew these kids, but she decided to take the young girl's word for it.

"Whatever," said Vanessa, who got up and left with her friends.

As Vanessa walked away, she couldn't help but look back at Rose and Kenny a few more times. Something was odd about those kids. Vanessa felt they were connected somehow, but she had no idea how. What bothered Vanessa the most however was that she felt as if she needed to keep them safe. But why did she feel the need to protect complete strangers? Vanessa did her best to ignore these thoughts.

Once the teenaged version of their mother was out of sight, Rose felt she needed to give her brother a serious talking to.

"Kenny what were you thinking? Mum and Dad made it perfectly clear that we need to be careful when interacting with their younger counterparts. They also said that we should only reveal who we are if it's absolutely necessary. Meaning you can't just run up and give Mum a hug like you normally do," stated Rose. "I just hope you weren't planning on calling her Mummy."

Kenny gave Rose a look that said he was, but also that he was sorry. In truth Rose couldn't blame him, based on what he had told her, Rose knew that while their mother had been absent for a lot of their life, Kenny loved her dearly.

"It's alright, just keep that in mind the next time you want to do something like that. You're arguably smarter than all of us Kenny, but you need to learn to think before you act. Do you think you can do that?" asked Rose.

Kenny nodded.

"Good now let's get back to the go-cart," said Rose.

The brother and sister hopped back in their seats.

"Was that Aunt Nessa?" asked Sean.

"Yes, unfortunately Kenny got a little too excited when he saw her," said Rose.

"Wow, I gotta say though it was weird seeing Aunt Nessa as a teenager," said Sean.

"Well, we'll be seeing your parents and my dad when they were our age. Imagine how weird that'll be," said Rose.

They continued their journey through Danville. Thankfully, they had programmed their time machine to arrive in the morning with time for them to arrive at their grandparent's neighbourhood before midday. To their surprise, the neighbourhood was quite unchanged to how it was in their time. They parked around the corner from their grandparents.

They didn't have to worry about hiding their go-cart. Kenny had installed a shrink button that allowed them to shrink it to the size of a toy car so they could carry it around in their pockets. As they were making their way to their grandparent's house, they noticed a young girl with black hair wearing a pink dress walking across the street. Terri and Sean stopped dead in their tracks.

"Guys what's wrong?" asked Rose.

"It's our Mum," said Sean.

Rose gave the girl another look and upon closer inspection realised the girl was her Aunt Isabella.

"Whoa," said Rose.

"You were right, seeing her at our age is definitely weirder then seeing your Mum as a teenager," said Sean.

The four kids followed the ten-year-old Isabella to the back yard. They were far enough back that she didn't hear them coming but managed to arrive at the back fence just as she said.

"Hey Phineas, whatcha doin."

The kids looked through the open gate and spotted the ten-year-old versions of Phineas and Ferb.

"Hey Isabella," said Phineas. "We're just getting ready to have a city-wide game of Laser Tag. Wanna join?"

"Sure," said Isabella happily. "So how are we gonna have a city-wide game?"

"Well like most Laser Tag games we have a power source that lets us use our weapons and the weapons are pressure sensitive meaning they'll only work if you have both hands on the weapon!" explained Phineas.

"We're then gonna cast a city-wide hologram to give it the same illusion as a normal game of Laser Tag," said Ferb.

"In fact, you came just in the nick of time," said Phineas. "We need to set up team bases throughout Danville for team death matches and capture the flag. We were wondering if you and the Fireside Girls could help with that. We'll also need help putting up fliers."

"Sure, we'd be happy to assist, and this should allow us to gain our Extreme Laser Tag patch," said Isabella.

"Alright, but first you'll need to put your name on the list, so we know you're part of the game," said Phineas, handing Isabella a pen and pad.

The kids from the future were at a loss as to what they should do. On the one hand they really wanted to join in on the Laser Tag game, especially considering it would help them fulfill their initial goal of time travel, on the other they knew they only had a day to intercept Mitch from the future so every second was precious. After some debating Sean and Rose decided that they would join in the Laser Tag game, because they felt the best way to get Phineas and Ferb to help them, was to befriend them. They entered the backyard with Sean in the lead.

"Um hello," said Sean nervously.

The younger version of his father turned to face him and happily said, "Hi, can we help you."

Sean couldn't believe how friendly his father was being. While Phineas was still a loving, caring and friendly father that didn't stop him from being firm with his children.

"You're Phineas and Ferb, right?" asked Sean.

"Yes, yes we are," said Phineas.

"Well, um, we're new to Danville, but we've heard so much about you over the internet. Your summer adventures are legendary," said Sean.

"Wow thanks," said Phineas. "What's your name?"

Sean had a little trouble answering. He was unsure whether he should tell his father his real name.

"I'm, um, Shane. Shane McDonald," said Sean.

Rose, Terri and Kenny were completely confused by what Sean was doing.

"This is my sister… Tammy, my cousin… Robyn and her brother… Karl," said Sean, pointing to each of them.

"Nice to meet you," said Phineas shaking each of their hands.

"Hi, I'm Isabella, Isabella Garcia-Shapiro," said Isabella introducing herself.

The future kids were so happy to get such a warm greeting from both Phineas and Isabella. Ferb said nothing, but like Phineas he happily shook their hands.

"Anyway, we were wondering if we could join you guys?" asked Sean. "We like to invent ourselves and it would be an absolutely honour to invent alongside you guys."

"Sure, you can help us," said Phineas. "More help means more time for fun. And making new friends makes the experience even better."

In no time at all the kids from the future started helping their fathers with their extreme game of Laser Tag. Isabella left to go get the Fireside Girls. Terri wanted to go with her so she could meet a previous generation of her troupe, but Sean insisted that it was best that the four of them stick together. Not only that, but Terri would have plenty of opportunity to meet them throughout the day. While they were constructing, Rose questioned Sean over why they had given false names to their fathers. Sean admitted that while their names may be minor details, he felt the less their parents knew about them the better. Rose agreed.

The Fireside Girls eventually joined them so they could learn the locations of the various bases. This gave the kids from the future the opportunity to meet Scarlett's mother Ginger and Tiffany's mother Adyson. For some reason the experience of meeting the childhood versions of people they knew in the future wasn't getting any less weird. It only got more bizarre when Griff's father Buford and Scarlett's father Baljeet turned up to help.

"Hey who's the new meat?" asked Buford.

"New friends," said Phineas.

Buford examined them closely. They weren't too worried about Buford recognising them. Although they knew Buford wasn't dumb, he was easily the least intelligent out of Phineas and Ferb's closest friends. Being a bully however that wouldn't stop him from pointing out odd features.

"Hey look, this girl has a triangle head. You ever poke an eye out with that thing?" asked Buford, causing Terri to tear up.

Isabella slapped him on the head.

"Buford that was really mean, apologise to Tammy right now," said Isabella.

"Hey tough love can be good for a person. It helps toughen them up," said Buford.

"How would you like it if someone made fun of your appearance?" asked Isabella.

"Who's to say someone already hasn't?" asked Buford. "It's not easy being an overweight kid with a tooth sticking out of your mouth."

Isabella decided to ignore Buford so she could cheer up Terri.

"Don't listen to him. You look adorable. In fact, I've always found triangle heads to be very 'acute'," said Isabella who then looked at Phineas.

All the future kids quickly saw that Isabella had indeed had a crush on Phineas since they were young. They were also amazed that Phineas couldn't see it despite how obvious Isabella was.

"And look Isabella, this boy also has half a circle for a head," said Buford before making Isabella and Sean bump each other's heads. "If you put your heads together you can make a full circle.

Neither Sean nor Isabella were overly amused by Buford's assessment.

"And what about this girl? Look at her green hair," laughed Buford earning a death glare from Rose. "Your small square nose is also funny, especially considering both clash heavily with the black outfit. I think you should paint the nose red, because then you'll look like a…."

"Finish that sentence and you'll be out cold before you can utter another word," threatened Rose.

Buford wasn't easily scared, but Rose's threat made him whimper and back down. Buford knew a strong individual when he saw one and he had a feeling Rose was not someone he wanted to mess with. Nevertheless, Buford's cowering made a lot of people laugh.

"Calm down Ros, um Robyn we came here to make friends not start fights," said Sean.

Sean knew Rose hated when people pointed out how her appearance and dress sense clashed. Sean had learnt that lesson more times than he could count.

"Ok, I'm sorry for losing my temper," said Rose.

"It's fine its all-in good fun," said Phineas.

They got back to work, because while the day was still young it wouldn't last forever. While most had decided to ignore Buford's comments regarding the appearances of the new kids, Ferb felt there was something familiar about them. He started to see that the new kids shared many similarities in appearance to Phineas, Isabella, and himself. Ferb could even see that Kenny looked remarkably like him, even though Buford hadn't said anything about Kenny's appearance. Being a man of action however, Ferb decided to stay quiet for now, but he had a feeling he would soon learn the truth about these new kids.
