Leo groaned as he woke up. He looked around, confused. Where was he? What happened?
As he slowly regained awareness, he realized he was chained to a wall. How strange. Looking around, he saw that his brothers were also in the same predicament. They were lined up by age on the wall, chained by their arms and legs. It looked like all their gear was gone too, Except apparently for masks. Raph was already awake, while Mikey was just coming to and Donnie was still out cold.
"Raph!" he yelled. "What happened!?"
"Why're you asking me?" he replied. "The last thing I remember was some weird dude dressed in black saying he got us."
"That's weird…," he said. "The last thing I remember was laughing at Donnie when he got hit with like 20 darts and passed out."
"Jeez Leon," says Mikey, finally fully awake. "You and Donnie are the best of friends, aren't you?"
"Uhhg… what happened?" said Donnie, finally out of sleepytown. Ooh, that's good, he should say it out loud!
"Finally out of sleepytown, I see." Nailed it!
"Shut… up… Leon," Donnie says, still not fully awake but getting there. Everyone laughed at that. Well, except Raph.
"Now's not the time to make jokes, boys. We are literally chained to a wall right now," Raph said.
"We are?" says Donnie drowsily. "Oh, yeah you're right we are." A beat passed before Donnie realized what he just said. "Wait what?! How the frick did we get here?!"
"I'm not sure, but we need to figure out how to escape," said Raph in his leader voice.
"Uh," says Donnie, "Have you tried smashing yourself out?"
"Good idea, Donnie!" exclaims Raph.
"Wait, you didn't try that already?" asks a confused Donnie.
"No, but…" Raph stops. "Anyway Imma bash this place!" Raph raises his fists, slams them repeatedly into the wall, and…
"Nothing?!" yelled Mikey. "Aw, come on!"
Donnie sighed. "My tech is gone, so we don't really have another means to escape right away. We'll have to wait till the first opportunity."
Leo nodded. "Right, Dee."
"I guess we just wait now…" Mikey sighed.
Leo was bored out of his mind. When the frick was this 'opportunity' going to come?
Slam! A tall man in a long, flowing red cloak came in. The hood of the cloak was up, and he was wearing a mask of a red demon underneath. The fastening thingy on the cloak was a strange symbol he had never seen before; it looked like a circle with an oval inside it.
"Who the frick are you?!" yelled Donnie. "What do you want us for?!"
The strange man chuckled menacingly. "I'm here to break your spirits."
There was a two second silence in the room, before Donnie resumed yelling. "I don't care! We won't break! We're gonna escape together and catch you and put you in jail, and you'll never see the light of day again!"
The person laughed again, this time louder. "Feisty, this one." He looked directly at Donnie, who started looking less angry and more nervous. "I haven't seen the light of day in years, funny one." He got up close in his face. "And you will break. There's never been one I couldn't break. The ones like you break easiest."
Donnie seemed at loss for words. Leo couldn't believe that dude had just said that to his twin brother! "You shut up, you idiot!" he yelled at the man. "None of us are going to quote unquote, 'break'. We are too good for that!"
The man only laughed harder. "We'll see about that." He walked toward Raph, who was on Donnie's other side. He put up his hand, which was in a blood red glove, and put it on Raph's head. For a second, nothing happened.
Suddenly a light shone from Raph's eyes and mouth, as well as the man's hand. They held that position for a few seconds, before the Man took his hand off. Raph gasped.
"Greatest fear: losing his brothers by his own mistakes," said the man. What did that mean?
The man walked over to Donnie, next in line. He did the same thing to him as he did with Raph. "Greatest fear: being useless and abandoned."
Then it was his turn. When the man put his hand on his head, he saw his life flash before his eyes, quite literally. Every experience he had ever had, every thought, every feeling, all of it was passing through him at light speed. "Greatest fear: disappointing his brothers."
Then he turned and did the same to Mikey. "Greatest fear: being left behind."
The Man turned before all of them. "I will break you."
Then he turned on his heel and walked out the door.
A/N: I need to start making these longer! The next chapter will be out either tomorrow or the day after, because a chapter a day is hard.
