A/N: The first part is written in 3rd person omniscient, to be clear. Also, I am well aware that I have not updated the story is two weeks, and for that I am very sorry. I didn't feel like it for a while, and then when I finally got around to it I couldn't think of anything to say. This chapter is short; I could've gone on longer but I felt like that might take up too much time and I've already kept you guys waiting long enough. Here's your chapter, I hope it doesn't suck too much!
Raph looked down into the bowl of gray mush Ozul had given him. Ozul had neglected to give him a spoon. He scooped some mush into his mouth with his hand. It tasted like sawdust.
The silence that rang through the room was deafening.
"Guys," said Donnie to break the silence. "Are you guys okay?"
"Okay?" choked Mikey. "OKAY? Yes, of course I'm okay. I only got shocked a bajillion times and also contributed to you guys being shocked! Why would that ever make me not okay?"
Another moment of deafening silence came after Mikey's outburst. It was well founded, thought Donnie. What a stupid question to ask. He was so stupid.
"I- I'm sorry," Mikey said softly. "I just-"
"I get it, Mikey," said Donnie. "You were frustrated and sad and let it out on me. I get it." Donnie did that a lot. He probably deserved for Mikey to take out his anger on him.
Leo was holding back tears. He spoke up. "I'm sorry I missed so many questions. It's my fault you guys got shocked."
"No one blames you, Leo," said Raph.
"Yeah," said Mikey. "Those questions were really hard. It's not your fault if you got a few wrong."
"Donnie got them all right," said Leo looking down.
Donnie shook his head. "No, I didn't. I got 92.860694% of them right. I'm not perfect, as much as I wish I was. I'm sorry you guys were shocked because of me…" Because he wasn't smart enough. Not good enough. But that went unsaid.
"You still got more right than the rest of us, Dee," Leo said. "That means you got shocked more… Weird," he laughed, "I would've thought you wouldn't get shocked for us and just get the questions wrong."
Silence.
"I… Is that what you think of me?" said Donnie, holding back tears. He refused to cry in front of his brothers.
"Donnie, I didn't mean that," said Leo, terrified at his stupid attempt at a joke. "I know you care about us…
"No… No, I'm fine." Donnie didn't even try to back himself up. He knew he was cold sometimes. He put his brothers down, made jokes at their expense. He pranked them and sometimes even straight up attacked them. But just because he didn't show his love often didn't mean it wasn't there.
Raph was uncomfortable in the silence. "Guys, I love you."
"That was random," said Mikey, "But I love you too."
"Same here bros. I love you," Leo said.
"Always," added Donnie.
There was nothing else to say.
Raph's pov
In came the torturers. Of course.
"Enough mushiness, turtles. I hope you finished your food, 'cause you're not getting much more for a while," said Gorgophone.
"That food is disgusting, right?" interjected Ozul. "Believe it or not, that's what we're fed too. You would think such a profitable business would have a bit of extra cash to spend on food for the employees, but nooo…"
"Actually," said Frithjof with a smirk, "that's just what they give the interns. Us full time employees get actual food."
"No! Really?" said Phobus, surprised. "Are you freaking kidding me? That stuff has, like, no sustenance! Literally just enough to keep us alive." Phobus lifted up his jacket. You could see his ribs. "Look at me, I'm skin and bones!"
"I think that's just you, man. I'm perfectly fine," said Ozul.
"Really?" said Phobus wide eyed.
"Yeah, Phobo, you're just a beanpole," laughed Frithjof. Phobus's face got all red and he looked at the floor.
Raph sat there, watching the torturers squabble (and Phobus get bullied). He felt kinda numb. He had gotten… half-used to the torture.
The other half was very much in pain.
His muscles were so weirdly sore from the shocks. He had already been tased by Ozul. Now he felt like a… grilled burrito or something. (Raph wasn't very good at making analogies.)
"So, we are taking you to a new place now. For new torture," said Ozul to distract Frithjof and Gorgophone from Phobus. Phobus shot him a look of thanks.
"Oh yeah, right, that's what we were doing." said Frithjof. He takes out four needles and heads for Raph first. He knows what's about to happen. Raph closes his eyes. "Nighty-night, turtle. See you in you new torture…"
"That doesn't make sense, Frithjof," Phobus said with his arms crossed.
"Shut up Phobo."
And he was out.
Raph woke up in a new room. It looked like a pretty normal room. The walls were pure, bright white, and there were no windows. The only way out was a door on one end.
What the frick?
