Six weeks ago, John had attended his girlfriend's college graduation. He had clapped and cheered alongside her parents, Olivia and Luke, as Lou crossed the stage and got her certificate. After the ceremony, the four of them had gone to dinner together, to celebrate not only Lou's graduation, but the job she would be starting at the end of July in R&D at Tracy Incorporated. The dinner was also to allow Lou some time with her parents as she had moved to Tracy Island the next day.
Six weeks ago, Lou had begun training to join John and the others, to become a member of International Rescue. Jeff had made it clear that she was under no obligation to do so, but she had told him she wanted to do it.

"Welcome aboard Thunderbird Five" Virgil greeted John, Lou and his dad.
"We'll leave you to get settled" his dad said once Lou had been given a brief tour of the station.
"Let us know when you get back?" John asked his dad and brother. Nodding, Jeff and Virgil made their farewells and boarded Thunderbird Three. John took Lou into the control room and showed her how to monitor Thunderbird Three as it made its decent back to earth.
As he was showing her some of the basics, the call came in that Thunderbird Three was home. Later on, after they had eaten dinner, John went to check on things in the control room. Satisfied everything was alright, he went to find Lou. He found her looking out the window in the kitchen area.
"Hey" John came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, his chin on her shoulder. She tilted her head to rest it against his.
"I love this view" she told him.
"As do I" he replied. Deciding to do it now, he released Lou from the embrace and spun her around. Getting on one knee, he drew a ring out his pocket and, there among the stars, asked her to marry him.
"Yes, definitely yes" she whispered, a huge grin on her face as he slid the ring onto her finger before pulling him in for a kiss.

"You're in a good mood" Jeff said when they checked in the next morning. Smiling John asked his dad to get his brothers to come to the office.
"So, I asked Lou a question last night" John said once everyone was assembled. The couple were both smiling.
"And I said yes" Lou said and held her left hand up to the camera. The couple laughed as everyone cheered and congratulated them.
"I have to tell Tin and Fermat!" Alan exclaimed. He ran off and there was a thud just as Alan went out of view. "I'm ok!" his voice called back as the others started laughing.
"He tripped" Scott explained, smirking. With final farewells, they signed off. Smiling, John pulled Lou onto his lap and kissed her.
