Shortly after arriving home for winter break, Alan had gone looking for Onaha and Kyrano, and had found them in the kitchen. Onaha had been preparing dinner, Kyrano had been unloading the dishwasher.
"Is everything ok, Master Alan?" Kyrano asked, seeing Alan walk in the room.
"I would like your blessing to ask Tin-Tin to marry me" Alan said to the older couple, slightly nervously. "I know we're young, but I love her and I know she is the one." The older couple looked at each other, smiling. Kyrano stepped closer to Alan and held his hand out.
"You have it" Kyrano smiled and they shook hands.
"From both of us" Onaha said as she pulled him into a hug. "We see the love you have for each other, and know you care for her and respect her."
"Thank you" Alan smiled at them.

Alan had then gone to see his dad, finding him in his office.
"Come on in, Alan. What can I do for you?" Jeff had asked, smiling at his youngest son.
"I'm going to propose to Tin-Tin" Alan blurted out. Jeff sat there silent, slightly surprised. "I know we're still young, but I know she's the one I want to be with."
"Have you spoken to Onaha and Kyrano?" Jeff asked. Alan nodded. "You have their blessing?" Another nod. "Then you have mine too."
"So you don't object?" Alan asked.
"No, I don't" Jeff stood and went to hug Alan. "You've grown up a lot in the last few years, Alan, and I can see how happy you two make each other. I suspected it was going to happen sooner or later, and if Onaha and Kyrano are ok with it being sooner, then so am I."
"Thank you, Dad" Alan returned the hug.

It was Christmas Day on Tracy Island and Jeff, John, Virgil, Gordon, and Alan were all sat around the tree with John's fiancée Lou, who had their nine-month-old son Tyler on her lap, Gordon's girlfriend Pippa, and Tin-Tin. Brains and Fermat were up on Thunderbird Five. Scott and his girlfriend Hope were visiting Hope's parents. Onaha came in the sitting room with mugs of hot cocoa, Kyrano following with a tray of cookies.

By the time the hot cocoa had been drank and the cookies eaten, most of the presents had been opened. But Alan still had a special one for Tin-Tin. Sliding off the couch and on to one knee, he brought a small box out his pyjama pocket and opened it, revealing a gold, diamond ring, before asking Tin-Tin to marry him. With happy tears, Tin-Tin nodded and Alan kissed her as he slid the ring on. Those present congratulated the young couple and were thrilled for them.

Scott and Hope were told the news when they called to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, as were Brains and Fermat during Thunderbird Five's usual check-in. Like the others, they too were thrilled for the couple and congratulated them.

They lay in bed together that evening. Tin-Tin had her head on Alan's shoulder, he had his arms around her.
"I'd like to get married before we go to college" Tin-Tin said.
"I'm good with that" Alan replied. Six months should be enough time to plan their wedding. Especially with everyone helping.
