Scott Tracy had arranged a trip to Paris for him and his girlfriend Hope, to celebrate Hope's birthday. He was also hoping to ask her a question. With two of his younger brothers, namely John and Alan, now married, Scott felt it was time for him and Hope to take the next step as well. They had been together a little over two years now. Scott's brother Gordon and his girlfriend Pippa had flown with them, dropping them in Paris before heading to England for Pippa's Graduation. Yeah, her university held their Graduation Ceremony in November. Still, the timing had worked out well.

Hope's birthday was their final full day in Paris. At Hope's request, they had spent the day at one of the museums. For their final night, Scott had arranged a table at a restaurant he knew Hope had always wanted to go to, should she ever get to visit Paris. They had dressed up and Hope had even done her hair and makeup. She had squealed with excitement when she saw which restaurant they were going to for dinner. The meal had not disappointed, and they were both completely stuffed when they finished.

Another place in Paris Hope had always wanted to go to was the Eiffel Tower. Scott had arranged a private booking for just as they closed. Holding his hand, Hope kissed Scott, declaring this the best birthday ever. Hope then went to look out over the city. Giving her a few minutes to admire the view, Scott cleared his throat. Hope had turned to see him down on one knee, an open box containing a gold, diamond ring held in his hand. There, at the top of the Eiffel Tower, Scott asked Hope to marry him. Grinning, and with happy tears, Hope accepted.

"Bonjour Scott, Hope" Gordon greeted them as they joined him and Pippa on the plane. "Ça va?"
"Ça va bien, merci. Et tu?" Scott replied, hugging his brother, then Pippa.
"Ça va bien aussi" Gordon replied.
"Hey, Gordy? You owe me twenty pounds" Pippa said, grinning after she'd hugged Scott. Gordon looked confused before following his girlfriend's gaze to Hope's left hand. Spotting the new piece of jewelry on Hope's finger, Gordon began to smile too.
"Congats you two" he told Scott and Hope, hugging them both again.

Everyone was thrilled for the couple when they told them the news upon their return home.

AN - My sister's university graduation ceremony was in November. I had started my first full time job, having graduated myself that summer, the month before and I felt really awkward having to ask for a day off so soon after starting haha. But they let me take it. (No, my sister and I are not twins. I'm a year older but I did an extra year at university.)
