Flashback.
"Should I kill him, boss?" The Nikto asked, pointing a blaster pistol at Beilet Valance's head.
"Not yet. We are short a fourth gun for hit." Said Caviness Thorn, a man with a silver metal mask over his face."Source in the docking bay says the smuggler landed here a few hours ago to refuel. Doesn't give us a lot of time to improvise."
"He don't look like Caviness Thorn material to me." Said a member of the Thorn gang.
"Syphacc will vouch for me." Valance told Caviness."I'm a good shot-"
"I know who you are." Caviness interrupted him."Heard about that botched job with Nakano Lash."
"Look, Caviness, I'm desperate. I really need the credits."
"How desperate? Show us." Caviness pointed to three Pyke guards walking up the stairs."Security got an anonymous tip that there's a cyborg in the cantina who works for the Hutts. This port is under Pyke control. They don't like the Hutts. Meet us at the port and collect those credits. If you survive."
"Great." Valance muttered. The cyborg walked through the crowd and saw two Pykes."This isn't necessary. We don't have to do this."
When they saw him, the Pykes activated their stun batons."Shut up! Hutt cronies are not welcome here!" Said one Pyke.
Valance sighed."We're going to do this, aren't we?"
"Take the cyborg down!" Said the other Pyke as they attacked him.
"Hey! Don't call me that!" Valance yelled."You really don't want to make me angry."
"Ha! The nerve of this cyborg." The Pyke laughed before the baton hit Valance's synthflesh side face.
Valance then punched the Pyke."Okay, angry it is." He then grabbed him and threw the Pyke at the wall, knocking him out.
"You're going to die for this." Said the other Pyke.
"Maybe one day." Valance quickly punched the other Pyke."But not today." Valance walked through the crowd in the cantina."No need to get up." He said, handing some credits to the owner of the cantina."I'll see myself out."
On the Island.
Valance walked through the jungle, going to check on supplies. When he got there, he saw Jaime Lannister going through his supplies.
"What are you doing?" Valance asked.
"This is going to hurt." Nurse Redheart warned Zuud before healing the back of her head.
"Are you ready to tell us what happened?" Asked Eli Vanto. Zuud had come back with a head injury.
"We were trying to find the source of the distress call. I saw the flare from the beach and then the flare from Valance's position in the jungle. I switched on my antenna, activated the transceiver, and then darkness. Whoever hit me came from behind."
"And destroyed the equipment?" Vanto asked.
Zuud nodded."Yes."
"Listen, we're going to figure this out, but don't do anything-"
"I will do whatever I need to do to find the man responsible." Zuud interrupted Vanto.
Vanto then noticed Cersei Lannister and Jaime enter the caves. Jaime looked wounded.
"We need some help over here." Said Cersei.
"What happened?" Nurse Redheart asked.
"Valance." Said Jaime.
"Morning delivery." Said Tucker, giving Jeela Brebtin a bottle of water.
"Thank you, Tucker." The Imperial Pilot smiled.
"Well, I figured in your condition, with the extra baggage, you know..."
"Well, I can still walk." Jeela said.
"Barely. Anyway, I worry about you out here. You know, it's very sunny." Tucker said."Maybe you should move to the caves. Nurse Redheart is there." I still don't understand how a pony could be a nurse though. Tucker thought.
"I like the beach, Tucker. Besides, I want to be here for when we get rescued."
"When we get rescued, right." Tucker said, remembering the french transmission he heard.
"It's fine. It's just a scrape." Jaime said to Nurse Redheart.
"Yeah, lot's of scrapes. I'm running out of peroxide." Redheart said.
"Valance just jumped me. I didn't..."
"Why?" Vanto asked Jaime.
"My sister, Cersei, isn't feeling good. I was hoping Valance had some medicine since Nurse Redheart is running out."
"It's true." Redheart sighed.
"My sister was barely able to make it to the caves." Jaime said."I need that medicine if she's going to get better."
Vanto was going through Valance's stuff when he noticed the Bounty Hunter looking at him."Where is it?" Vanto questioned.
"Hey, Vanto. Long time no see." Said Valance.
"Where is it?" Vanto repeated.
"Where's what?"
"I need medicine for Cersei."
"Oh." Valance said.
"You attacked someone for trying to help his sick sister."
"No, I whooped a thief because he was going through my stuff."
"Yours? What makes it yours? What, you think you can just take something out from a crashed Arquitens command cruiser and that makes it yours?" Vanto asked.
"A man has a right to protect his property," Valance said.
"Your not a man. Your just a droid." Vanto said.
The cyborg was now angry. Valance stood up when they both noticed Princess Luna."What's going on here?" The alicorn asked.
Vanto looked at Valance before he walked away. Luna followed the former Imperial.
"I'm going to kill him." Vanto said as he walked on the beach.
"That's not going to help us get the medicine." Said Luna.
"Maybe not, but It'll feel good."
"So what's stopping you?" Luna asked.
Vanto looked at her."We're not savages, Luna. Not yet."
"Let me talk to Valance."
"What makes you think he's going to listen to you." Vanto asked.
"He says we have a connection."
"Do you?"
"Please." Luna said.
Valance was chopping wood with an axe when he saw Luna walking to him.
"What do you want?" Luna asked.
"Excuse me?" Valance was confused.
"What do you want, Valance?"
"Moonbutt, I got so many answers to that question, I wouldn't even know where to start."
"What do you want for the medicine?"
"Good question." Valance smiled."What do I want? A kiss ought to do it."
"What?" Luna said, surprised.
"A kiss, from you, right now."
Luna shook her head."I don't buy it."
"But what?" Valance asked.
"The act. You try too hard, Valance. I ask you to help a woman who is sick and you want me to kiss you? Nobody's that disgusting. I know there's a good person in there somewhere." Luna said.
"You think you understand me?"
Luna nodded."Yeah. I think I have-"
"Shut up. You don't know anything about me." Valance said."Remember when I said I was a part of the Empire? I joined the Empire because my people were slaves and they freed us. When I came back to my village after I left the Empire...almost everyone was dead because the Empire left them. A criminal syndicate called the Hidden Hand killed them...including my father." Valance said. A few had survived the Hidden Hand's raid's, including Yuralla Vega.
"Eventually, I found the Hidden Hand and killed them all...all but one. There was one Hidden Hand member that escaped. I only know that his name is Jova. But I will find Jova. And I will kill him." Darth Vader and some Stormtroopers had actually killed the Hidden Hand members. He wanted Luna to be scared of him.
Luna stared at him, horrified.
"Now about that kiss..."
Luna backed away a little.
"I didn't think so." Valance said.
"Sir," Zuud said Grand Moff Tarkin. Tarkin was using a knife to sharpen a stick."Where were you last night, around sunset?"
"Well, I'm afraid the only witness to my whereabouts is the boar that I was skinning for our dinner. I heard you were trying to send out a distress call. So it would seem whoever attacked you has a reason for not wanting to get off the Island. Maybe someone who is profiting from our current circumstances? And from what I've seen you and Valance share a certain animosity."
Zuud shook her head."No, he has an alibi. Just before I was struck, he set off a bottle rocket, a signal we had worked out. 2 kilometers away. He wouldn't have time to go-"
"Unless he found a way to time delay the fuse on his rocket." Tarkin said.
"How could he possibly have-"
"He could have taken Billy Handsome's cigarette to improvise a slow fuse." Tarkin then offered her his knife."Just in case there's a next time."
Zuud took the knife.
"She's burning up." Said Jaime.
"She has a fever." Nurse Redheart said.
Vanto saw Valance walk into the cave to get some water. Vanto walked to him."Give me the medicine, now."
"I wondered when you were going to stop asking nice." Valance said
Vanto wished he could punch the cyborg, but he would only punch metal.
Flashback.
"I see you made it just in time." Said Caviness Thorn. There was a dead Pyke laying on the ground that Thorn had killed earlier.
"You killed a Pyke. That's going to put serious heat on us." Valance said.
Thorn shook his head."Not us. They are searching the cantina district for a cyborg. One now apparently on a rampage-"
"You set me up!" Valance said angrily."I should-"
"I suggest what you should do is help us kill the target, get paid, and get out of Abregado-rae while you can," Thorn said.
Valance stared at him for a moment."Crink it. What's the plan?"
"The target will have to surface to pay the dockmaster before he can leave." Thorn explained."He will be out in the open with little cover." Valance then looked through the scope of his sniper rifle."Got shooters flanking him on three sides, so one of us is sure to get him."
Valance saw Thorn's shooters."I see the dockmaster, Caviness, but I don't know what the mark looks like." The cyborg said.
"The target is approaching the dockmaster." Said Caviness."Get ready for my signal."
"Where? I can't see him." Valance said."Wait, there's someone next to a Wookiee."
"The Millenium Falcon is not a hunk of junk. Did you know she made the Kessel Run in-"
The dockmaster talking to the Corellian interrupted him."All right, all right. I'll pay the fee." The Corellian said."You don't have to be nasty."
"H...Han Solo?" Valance said in shock when he saw the Corellian.
On the Island.
"Warm fluffy towels." Said Jeela."Your turn." Jeela and Tucker were playing a game of what they missed in their worlds.
"Uh, standing around all day at the base and doing nothing." Said Tucker.
"You already said that."
"Yeah, I know."
Jeela smiled."I miss peanut butter."
"Really? Well, I could get you peanut butter." Tucker said.
"Yeah, sure you can."
"Yes, I can. And when I get you this peanut butter, you have to move the caves. Deal?"
Jeela nodded."Deal."
They then shook hands.
"Vanto," Zuud said to the former Imperial."What will happen if Cersei doesn't get the medicine?" Vanto shrugged."Then we have to make Valance give it to us."
"Yeah, that's what I'm going to do." Vanto said.
"No, not you, me. I am a member of the Analysis Bureau and I've tortured many, many Rebels. Just give me 10 minutes with him. He'll give us the medicine." Vanto was silent."Is that a yes?" She asked.
Vanto thought about this. He knew how brutal Imperial torture was. But he also looked at the sick Cersei. Vanto nodded."Yes."
"Food from that starship has been gone for over a week." Said Stuhlinger. Stuhlinger and Tucker were walking through the jungle.
"What, no secret stash for emergencies? You and Vanto have got a bunch of stuff in that cave." Tucker said.
"Sorry. No peanut butter. No peanuts. No nothing." Stuhlinger said.
"Yeah, but, there's got to be something. I mean, look at you."
Stuhlinger stopped walking and looked at him."Look at what?"
"No, no. Listen." Tucker said.
"Fat guy hoarding the food, is that what you think?"
"No. It's just, we've been here for two weeks and you've not really..."
"Slimmed down much? I'm not even that fat!" Stuhlinger said.
"All I need is a bag of peanuts."
"I have no food, alright?!" Stuhlinger yelled angrily."And for the record, I have lost some weight since I haven't had a chance to eat my favorite food in a while."
"What's your favorite food?" Tucker asked.
Zombie flesh. Stuhlinger thought."Uh...It doesn't matter."
"Well, I'm sorry."
Stuhlinger sighed."It's all right. I'm used to it." He said, remembering how Misty and Marlton had insulted him about his weight.
The two then continued to walk.
"So, not even a bag of-"
"Dude." Said Stuhlinger.
"Okay. Alright, I'm sorry."
Beilert Valance opened his eyes and saw Zuud.
"Good morning." Zuud said before she used her blaster to stun the cyborg.
Vanto and Zuud were dragging Valance into the jungle."What are you doing?" Princess Luna said, shocked."Vanto!"
"This was Valance's choice, not mine." Vanto said.
"If you do this!" Luna yelled.
Zuud then tied the Bounty Hunter to a tree."Valance," Said Vanto."I'm giving you the chance to do the right thing. Now, all I want is the medicine. Just tell me where the medicine is and we'll stop."
"Stop what?" Valance asked.
Zuud had some tools of torture that she had found in the Arquitens ship.
"It doesn't have to be this way." Said Vanto.
"Yeah, it does." The cyborg said.
"I read your file. You know, when you were trying to kill Lord Vader." Said Zuud."I know that your body is mostly metal but you can still feel pain."
Valance scoffed."Please. If I can survive Darth Vader, I can survive you."
Zuud then used a shock baton to shock. Valance grunted in pain."That's it? That's all you got?" Valance said."No wonder the Rebels think they can take on the Empire."
Zuud shocked him again and again. The Bounty Hunter screamed in pain. Vanto stared at this, disgusted."Zuud! Stop!" Vanto yelled at her. Zuud did stop."What is wrong with you?" Vanto asked Valance.
"Where is it?" Zuud questioned the Bounty Hunter.
"The only person I'll tell is her." Valance said.
"Luna?" Vanto said, surprise.
"That's the deal." Valance said.
Luna walked to Valance when Vanto had told her Valance to speak to her."I am here. Where is the medicine?" She said.
"Happy to tell you, as soon as I get that kiss." Valance said.
"What? Are you serious?" Luna said, surprised.
"I am tied to a tree in a jungle of mystery. I just got tortured by an Imperial Lieutenant. Of course, I'm serious. You're just not seeing the big picture here, moonbutt. Are you really going to let that girl die because you can't bring yourself to give me one little kiss? It's only first base. And I'm not greedy." Valance said.
Luna stared at him for a long moment."Okay." She said.
"Okay." The cyborg said.
Princess Luna and Valance then kissed each other."I don't have it." Valance said.
"What?" Luna said.
"The medicine. I don't have it. I never did."
Luna glared at him angrily before she went back to Vanto and Zuud."He doesn't have it." Luna told them.
"What?" Vanto said.
Zuud shook her head."He's lying. Can't you see that? He's been lying from the beginning. He doesn't want us to get off the Island. That's why he attacked me."
"Hold on a minute." Vanto tried to calm Zuud down.
"He destroyed the transceiver!" Zuud yelled.
"You don't know that, Zuud!" Vanto said.
Zuud ran to Valance. The Bounty Hunter was loosening the bindings on his wrist. Valance then finally freed himself. The female Imperial quickly pulled out her blaster pistol and fired.
This time, a blaster bolt hit Valance.
Flashback.
"On my mark." Said Thorn."3...2..."
Valance then fired, purposely missing the Corellian and the Wookiee."Dank Farrik! I didn't say "fire" yet!" Thorn yelled.
"What the-?" Han Solo said as a blaster bolt then hit a member of the Thorn gang.
"Can we go one day without someone trying to kill us, Chewie." Han said, pulling out his DL-44 blaster pistol out of his holster.
"HRRARRR." Said Chewbacca.
"You don't know that. The shooter could have been aiming at both of us." Han said.
"Don't let him escape!" Said the Nikto that had been pointing a blaster pistol at Valance earlier. A blaster bolt hit Chewbacca but the Wookiee fired his Bowcaster, killing the Nikto.
"I'm sorry. I can't let you kill him." Valance said, trying to punch Thorn.
"Sorry? Oh, you will be." Thorn said.
"You jettison cargo one time, ONE TIME, and Hutt never lets you forget it." Han said, shooting Thorn members.
"I don't suppose we can both just go our separate ways and chalk this up to a misunderstanding?" Valance asked as he dodged a knife slash from Thorn.
"There's no misunderstanding," Thorn said."I am going to turn your corpse over to the Pykes to salvage something from this Rancor's spore of a day."
Valance used his metal hand to break the knife. Thorn then kicked him away."Then I will just take the shot and keep the Bounty myself now that the other shares are all dead."
Thorn picked the sniper to kill Han."No!" Valance yelled before he jumped to push Thorn.
"You're going to get us both killed!" Thorn yelled. Valance then went over the side and fell on some crates.
"I am surrounded by incompetence." Thorn muttered.
"Valance?" Han said, shocked when he saw the cyborg.
"I wasn't going to...I didn't know..." Valance said.
Chewbacca grabbed Han and took him to the Millenium Falcon."Why?!" Han yelled angrily."I thought...I thought we were friends. I saved your life! What the hells happened to you!" Han said before the ramp closed. Valance remembered how Han had saved his life when his TIE fighter had crashed.
"Wait!" Valance said. But the Millenium Falcon left the dock.
"I'm sorry." Valance said sadly.
On the Island.
"You're lucky to be alive. That laser only hit your chest and barely did a dent. But it did knock you out." Said Luna when Valance woke up in his tent.
"Where's Vanto?"
"He went to check on Cersei."
There was silence between them for a moment.
"I didn't attack Zuud. I didn't destroy the transceiver." Valance finally spoke. He looked at Luna."I want to get off this Island."
"To kill Jova?" Luna asked.
Valance nodded."To kill Jova. But to also save a friend." Valance said, knowing that Han Solo was in carbonite.
"Thankfully, she's gotten better." Nurse Redheart said to Vanto, talking about Cersei.
Vanto nodded."Good."
Jeela was just laying on a towel when she saw Tucker gather some clothes."What are you doing?" Jeela asked.
"Packing your stuff. You're moving to the caves." Tucker said.
Jeela's eyes widened in surprise."You didn't? Peanut butter? No way."
"Just like you ordered. Oh, there is one thing. It's extra smooth."
"That's okay." Jeela said.
Tucker then opened a jar. Jeela looked at him, confused."It's empty."
"What? No, it's not. It's full. Now, let's go to the caves." Tucker said.
Jeela smiled. She then got up.
"Zuud?" Said Luna, looking at the Imperial Lieutenant pack stuff into her backpack.
"I can't stay here." Said Zuud.
"What?" Luna said, confused.
"I'm leaving. I don't know for how long."
"Zuud, you can't. We still don't know what's out there. There's nowhere to go."
"Someone has to walk the shore and map the Island, see what else there is. I can't think of a better person to do it than the only one I trust. I hope we meet again." Zuud said before she left.
