As soon as Sabre fell asleep, he fell into some kind of lucid dream. Sabre then saw a glowing figure he recognized.
"Hello again, Sabre," Origin Steve politely said.
"Origin?" Sabre replied.
"Yes, Sabre. It's me," Origin Steve replied.
"What... what are you doing here?" Sabre stuttered as he asked, trying to not sound rude.
"I've came to warn you more about the foe. I'm also projecting my self in Twilight's mind as well as the friends of the pair of you right now," Origin Steve answered.
"I've came to warn you about... Madness Steve," Origin Steve added, struggling to say the name of the foe. He stuttered and shook as he said the name.
"Madness Steve? Who... who... is he?" Sabre asked, speaking in slow motion.
"You saw him today Sabre, did you not? He's the foe I've warned you about earlier," Origin Steve replied. Sabre now immediately knew who Origin Steve is talking about. The figure he saw just destroy the Steve Village.
"Please... I need to know, how do I stop him!?" Sabre exclaimed as he asked.
"Sabre, he is another foe. You defeated so many foes. Reverse Steve, Chaos Steve, Soul Steve, Sol, Void Steve, twice and more recently your own shadow. They were all does and every foe, you defeated in the end. By that logic, what makes him different to them?" Origin Steve asked, not wishing to go into depth on Madness Steve. What he did terrifies Origin Steve.
"His power! He has too much power!" Sabre exclaimed.
"If you're viewing it from that logic... well... his power, what you saw was not even him asserting himself," Origin Steve sighed.
"That is just his False Form, Sabre. Even when his False Form is at its weakest, he can still destroy a universe."
"Wait... he can destroy a universe!? He is basically toying with us!?" Sabre exclaimed.
"Yes Sabre. But don't be afraid of that. What you should fear Madness Steve for is when he leaves the Madness Dimension," Origin Steve responded.
"If he does, not even I can stop him, nor can God Steve or any other god for that matter. It is down to you and your friends Sabre on finding out how to stop him," Origin Steve added.
"But that doesn't explain how I can stop him. How do I stop him?" Sabre again asked.
"You know what to do. You can't defeat him without... 'knowing' how to. Sabre, think," Origin Steve hinted.
"I don't get it. Why can't you just help me? Especially saying that not even you can stop him," Sabre responded
"As soon as you wake up, you'll know exactly what to do. You also have Twilight and her friends by your side as well. You'll work it out," Origin Steve responded back.
(The next day)
Like Origin Steve told Sabre, as soon as he woke up, he knew exactly what to do, but he was still unsure whether it was a dream guiding him or Origin Steve actually spoke to him through the mindscape. Out in the middle of the former Yellow Kingdom was the mane 6 and Spike, who was also talking about their dream. It was when everypony was talking about Origin Steve that Sabre knew Origin Steve actually spoke to him.
"Hey Sabre, did you have a steve called Origin Steve in your dream last night?" Twilight asked Sabre as he walked over to them.
"Yes. Apparently, that steve we just saw the other day was called Madness Steve. Did he say the name of that steve was Madness Steve?" Sabre asked. The mane 6 and Spike nodded.
"Yeah I saw Origin Steve too in my dream. Bright blue eyes, brown hair, glowing all over?" Rainbow Dash replied.
"Yep," Sabre responded.
"He said that he was projecting himself into all our dreams to warn us about him," Rarity replied.
"Yeah, from what Origin Steve said about Madness Steve, he's gonna be a quite a tough cookie to stop," Said Applejack.
"I know I'm very confusing... but HE is WAY more confusing," Pinkie Pie stated.
"Whatever we try to do, he just pauses time and stops us on the spot. Like... how are we meant to beat that?" Spike moaned.
"I may have an idea. It'll be a long shot, but it's the only shot we all have to get at least some information on Madness. Just got to wait for Time and all that to get here... oh there they are!" Sabre replied as Dark Steve, Time Steve and Light Steve came over.
"Hey, did you all have that dream?" Light Steve asked.
"Yep," Sabre, the mane 6 and Spike replied as they nodded.
"I think I know one person who may provide us the knowledge," Said Sabre.
"Dark and Time, do you mind staying here for us to look over this place?" Sabre requested. They nodded.
"Alright, all gather around me. I know where to go," Sabre said as Light Steve, the mane 6 and Spike got around Sabre. Sabre began to use the Shadow Sword to teleport himself, Light Steve, the mane 6 and Spike to Indigo Steve's tower.
They are all now outside and at the bottom of the Indigo Tower. The mane 6 and Spike gazed upon the monolith, mossy stone brick tower that soared high up, into the clouds.
"We... seriously don't have to climb up that do we?" Spike asked.
"I definitely don't," Rainbow Dash quickly said as she flew up to the top of the tower in under a second.
"Is she always like this?" Light Steve asked.
"She always likes to show how fast she is," Twilight replied.
"Ah right okay. She's definitely fast alright. She's even faster than any Yellow Steve by a landslide, that's for sure," Light Steve replied.
"Wait, Twilight, do you think you could... like... teleport us up there?" Sabre asked.
"I mean... if you could teleport us as well as the entire population of a village full of steves so far away, I'm sure you can teleport us just up there," Sabre added. Twilight nodded and teleported everyone and everypony else up there, where Rainbow Dash was patiently sitting down, on the spruce wooden floor with a quartz circle around the hole in the middle.
"There is someone called the Great Librarian. He is in the world beyond. This leads to the middleworld, which is between the overworld and the world beyond. To get to the world beyond, we must get through the middleworld and get through the Indigo Leader. Light can't go anyways, because he isn't a Blue Steve. Either way, I don't think all of us can go to the world beyond as that is kinda breaking the rules and all that but we have no over choice other than letting Madness Steve annihilating all of us which I'm sure no one wants," Sabre explained.
"We have to jump down there," Sabre added. Fluttershy slowly peaked over the edge and hastily takes several steps back.
"I... I don't like this," Fluttershy quivered.
"It's a portal," Sabre pointed out.
"You're a pegasus, you can fly, can't you?" Sabre added as he asked.
"What's a pegasus?" Light Steve asked.
"That's what Fluttershy is as well as Rainbow Dash," Sabre answered.
"So, basically horses, but with wings, and a lot more colourful?" Light Steve replied.
"Ponies," Twilight corrected Light Steve.
"Anyway, Fluttershy, you can fly, so I don't know why you're scared to jump... I mean if anything bad happens, then you can just fly back up," Sabre said to Fluttershy.
"I... I remember falling off of a cloud when I was younger... when I was a filly," Fluttershy quietly stuttered, replying to Sabre.
"Oh... I uh... I apologize," Sabre replied back.
"It's okay, just when you said we had to jump in... it... it just brought that up," Fluttershy responded as she approaches the edge of the hole again and closes her eyes. She takes several deep breaths, with her eyes closed each deep breath she took until she finally stopped and slowly opened her eyes.
"I'm... I'm ready," Said Fluttershy.
"Weeeeeeee..." Pinkie Pie screeched at the top of her voice as she first jumped through, with her voice becoming more of an echo the deeper into the portal she went. Then Sabre jumped through, Light Steve was next and then everypony jumped in. Meanwhile, Fluttershy was still slightly hesitant and Rainbow Dash didn't want to go through the portal until Fluttershy was ready.
"Fluttershy, you can do this," Rainbow Dash said as she held out her left forehoof, boosting Fluttershy's confidence. Fluttershy gulped and held out her right forehoof and closed her eyes and shook.
"We'll do this together," Said Rainbow Dash.
"Ready?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Y... yes," Fluttershy very quietly replied.
"Ready, set, go!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she jumped in with Fluttershy. Fluttershy let out an incredibly loud scream.
The 2 pegasuses were then teleported to the middleworld, where everyone else was waiting.
"See? It weren't... that bad," Said Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes.
"That... was not as bad I thought it would be," Fluttershy quietly said whilst nodding.
"Wait, why is there a load of cubes floating and the floor is water, but we're not falling in?" Twilight asked as she noticed the surroundings.
"Don't question it, we must find the Indigo Leader, so he can take us to the world beyond and find the Great Librarian. The Great Librarian is our best bet on finding out who Madness Steve is," Sabre responded.
"Is that the steve there?" Spike asked, pointing at an indigo-coloured figure in the distance that is by a painting stand. It was an Indigo Steve, more importantly, the Indigo Leader. Everyone and everypony walked over to Indigo Steve, who was by his painting that was on oak wood planks supported by oak wood stands.
Just some notice:
It's pretty obvious, but I'll say anyway, none of these characters are mine. Not even Madness Steve is my character. I been thinking of an MLP and RQ crossover for a while, since nobody has done so, from what I could tell. I've been working on this story for at least 5 or so months, before RQ finished and 'The First Curse' Arc.
Going back to Madness Steve, he is actually a fanmade character, that I just happened to find (Don't worry, I asked the person who came up with him for permission). I didn't want to use any of the already existing villains from RQ or MLP, because I wanted this fanfic/crossover to be unique, with a different main antagonist, and Madness Steve happened to have a lot of lore (a little bit broken and overpowered, but oh well, he'll do). The person who came up with Madness Steve is actually still working on the Madness Steve lore (Yes, I put an OC in before their lore was complete lol. If anything new is added or something changed, I'll just have to check through my chapters to see if they make sense).
