Once Discord inspected the area, and sees no threat to Sabre, the elite Colourless Guard and the mane 6, he teleported them to the location as well.
They are in a massive swamp, that is also a mix of a forest. The area is mostly roofed over by leaves of tall oak trees. But the trees didn't look like natural oak trees, but they've still been around for a very long time. On the ground, there is an eroded path of gravel, podzol and course dirt blocks. Ahead, there is a lake of water, cutting between the roughed up path, that had deteriorated over time.
"So... where are we?" Sabre asked Discord. Sabre makes a full 360 turn, to look at his surroundings. To him, this place definitely didn't feel natural.
"If you continue down that path, you should find the Unnamed. I must go and try stop Madness Steve from coming here for as long as I can. If he gets to the armour, it will be very bad." Discord soon teleports away, with the snap of his fingers on his eagle hand. For a few more seconds, everyone just tries to come to terms what they saw at the outpost. That memory will live with them for a very long time. The mane 6 just don't get how Sabre copes with so much trauma, and then shrugs it off shortly after. Sabre must've been through so much, and may even had to work alone a lot of the time, and yet he still comes out on top. That is a strength the mane 6 will struggle to ever understand, going through psychological trauma, then quickly move on. All the mane 6 can do is admire Sabre's mental and psychological resistance. Sabre must have had to go through a lot of this to get used to it, which would've been rough. However, they have no time to think about that, they have to keep moving forward.
"Sabre, why do the bad guys here have to be... so ominous?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I don't know- Well, Tirek seems ominous if you ask me," Sabre replied.
"Okay, let's compare the names. 'Tirek'... and then there's 'The Unnamed'. The Unnamed sounds way more ominous Sabre," Rainbow Dash responded back.
"You okay Fluttershy?" Pinkie Pie asked. She noticed Fluttershy is feeling anxious about this area.
"The trees, it's all roofed over. It reminds me of the Everfree Forest. But, something about this forest seems... off. The presence here, it's like nothing is here- I don't know how to put it."
"Yeah I agree, it seems odd Fluttershy," Sabre responded with his views of this place. This forest, swamp, whatever you like to call it, it definitely seems odd. Everyone was about to cross the river by swimming, but Twilight teleports everyone to the other side.
"I mean- I know that forests are obviously, y'know, old. But, this one specifically seems ancient. It seems like no one's been here for a while..
whoever was here in the first place." Sabre, the elite Colourless Guard and the mane 6 began to slowly walk down the path, where hills form and the path goes into a small valley of sorts. The place just got even more odd and creepy the deeper they ventured in the forest. They then make a right turn, and continue walking.
"Sabre, what do we do if Madness comes here too?" The elite Colourless Guard asked.
"That's a great question- Well look, I mean, I may not know how to use Madness' powers on this sword to it's full extent, but it should still be enough... well, I hope it will be enough- I mean, if things really get out of hand... well, out of hoof for you six I guess, we can just teleport away. At least we should be able to get away. I wouldn't worry about it," Sabre replied, making pauses and stutters in his response. He actually doesn't know what he will do if Madness Steve does come here.
"However though, we must find the Unnamed before Madness does. Let's continue-" As Sabre was looking up at the top of the hills, to the left side, he sees something red peaking over, and then darts off. However, Sabre just about notices them, and begins yelling to everyone as he begins climbing up the hill with haste, block by block, still on the path.
"Wait, what was that!? Hey everyone, I think I just saw the Unnamed! I think I saw him look at us!" Sabre makes it to the top, and so does the elite Colourless Guard and the mane 6. Rainbow Dash then flies above the canopy of the forest, and just about can see something red through the thick layer of leaves.
"Is that red thing the Unnamed!?" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
"Yes it is! Don't get to close though! We don't know if it can do anything to you- Just don't lose him Rainbow Dash, stay on him- He's running!" Sabre exclaims as he and everyone else on the ground starts giving the red suit of armour chase. They make it down the hill on the other side. Twilight tries to use her magic, and the purple aura does appear around the Unnamed, but the armour still continued to run as if nothing is affecting it. So, Twilight tries setting up obstacles for the Unnamed, grabbing pieces of the ground and placing it infront of the armour, but it just manoeuvres around it like it is nothing. But the Unnamed began appearing to slow down.
"Wait-"
"No we can't wait Applejack! We have to go now! Okay I'm sorry, I know things are confusing and there's not a lot explained, but we need to get to him!" Sabre exclaimed, cutting off Applejack. She was going to warn that this could be a potential trap. However they can't let Madness Steve get to the Unnamed first. They right now appear to have the initiative over Madness Steve. Everyone continues chasing down the Unnamed, while Rainbow Dash is in the sky, staying pin point above the armour. Whenever they lost sight of the Unnamed, they quickly look at the light blue pegasus in the sky, and they know where about the armour currently is.
"It seems he's running along this path. Discord must of been right, he knew exactly what he was doing," Sabre stated, but to no one in particular, but to everyone in general.
"Thank you Discord," Sabre quietly said to himself.
"But, now we have to do our part- He's booking it- He's super fast! I don't know where he's trying to go!"
"Hey!" Sabre yelled at the armour as he, the elite Colourless Guard and the mane 6 that are on the ground got near.
"Come back here- What did you do with all the steves!? Come back!"
"Hey. Wait a second- Everyone STOP!" Sabre exclaimed, from running to a dead stop, instantly. However, Rainbow Dash didn't hear everyone on the ground and continued pursuing the Unnamed. Luckily, Twilight just barely uses her magic to stop Rainbow Dash before she went out of range.
Twilight brings Rainbow Dash to where everyone else is standing, all are panting from the running, except for the light blue pegasus of course.
"Something's not right. He's letting us catch up to him," Sabre stated.
"I could've easily got infront of the Unnamed under ten seconds flat if I wanted to," Said Rainbow Dash.
"Yeah, but the armour, you could be destroyed just by making contact with it- I don't know if it works the same as it's released- Also I guess you ain't a steve. Nevertheless, I don't know if it can do something to you," Sabre responded.
"Obviously you were able to make contact as you released a chain. If it's only steves that die by touching the Unnamed, why can't I touch the Unnamed?" Rainbow Dash asked, they way she asked sounded like she was interrogating Sabre.
"He said I was worthy, and the only one that could. He whispered to me, telling me to release a chain. In return, he said he would help me-"
"Whispers, 'worthy', chains, 'release a chain', red armour- So many things make the Unnamed appear outright dodgy. How did you not pick up on that Sabre!?" Applejack interrupted.
"Well it's obvious now the Unnamed isn't gonna help. But at the time, I was desperate. I panicked, and thought he would help- We need to follow where it ran into, we're waisting..." Sabre slowed down noticeably as he said the last word.
"...time..." Sabre thought about Time Steve as he said that. It still felt weird to him that his friend isn't here. The friend who never left his side when things were rough back when the darkness was the main standing issue. Sabre wonders how different things would've been if Madness Steve never decided to show up out of nowhere. Sabre wished Madness Steve never showed up. However, Madness Steve is the reason he ever met the ponies in the first place. If Madness Steve didn't show up, then he would've never met anypony. Elemental Steve also wouldn't of changed his attitude. The mane 6 had definitely changed the lives of not just him, but of Time Steve, as well as many others. The same for the mane 6, meeting Sabre and the steves had changed their lives for sure. It has almost been 6 days since they first met, and Sabre is already fond with the mane 6, as they are fond of him. So in some ways, depending how you look at it, Sabre can thank Madness Steve for ever meeting the mane 6. But Sabre didn't have time to think about how different things could be, he, as well as everyone has to follow the Unnamed.
Everyone began to walk, even Rainbow Dash is walking. Even to her, the forest gave the creeps.
"I don't like this..." Fluttershy quietly said, almost in a whisper, halting from walking
"Everything will be okay Fluttershy. We've got many friends to back each other," Rainbow Dash soothingly responded, trotting over to her.
"Fluttershy, are you okay?" Rainbow Dash notices the sensation of fear in the yellow pegasus' eyes. She isn't surprised, as this place is also making herself feel uneasy, and scared.
"Sabre, can you wait there? I just need to speak to Fluttershy," Rainbow Dash requested
"We have to keep going. I uh- We'll keep going. You two, just stay safe," Sabre responded. He, the elite Colourless Guard and the rest of the mane 6 continue to walk on, towards the gigantic building.
"Look, I'm scared too," Rainbow Dash began whispering.
"I... it's weird this... feeling being scared... I'm so used to saying I'm not scared. But recently... I'm being easily scared." Rainbow Dash even began to have some water build up in her eyes. Not from being upset, but tears of sheer fright. The light blue pegasus has kept this well secret.
"Seeing the things that'd gone on earlier..."
"The times I've been keeping positive... it's because- Deep deep down, I'm frightened to the core, Fluttershy- When I say this, I truly mean it, I'm... I'm very... very scared..." The yellow pegasus lifts her right forehoof and puts that forehoof around Rainbow Dash, and does so tight. Fluttershy hers herself closer to the light blue pegasus, and puts her head underneath her chin.
"So am I Rainbow, so am I! I've just been waiting for my death at this point!" Fluttershy cried. Rainbow Dash puts her left forehoof and tightly puts it around the yellow pegasus.
"This isn't like what we faced together in the past- Bullies... or the bad guys in the past- These are feared... cryptic beings that existed since the beginning or even before the beginning of time!"
"I'm glad to have met you Rainbow! When life was tough, you've always looked out for me! I'm happy to have had a loyal friend like you!"
"Hey hey hey, it's alright. I'm just as scared, it's okay," Rainbow Dash quietly responded.
"The Unnamed, he lead us somewhere," Said Sabre.
"Darlings, I have a bad feeling about this place..." Rarity said with a shaky tone in her voice.
Sabre, the elite Colourless Guard, Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rarity are now approaching the building. They are left breathless at the sheer size of the building. The building is at least 2 times the size of Canterlot Castle, easily. There is no door at the entrance, and they can see how large the building is from the inside as well. On either side of the entrance is these 2 pillars with different shades of purple. Most of the building has different shades of purple colours, most of the building being outlined in smooth andesite and smooth stone. Most of the andesite and smooth stone makes up the entrance. The entrance looks somewhat a shape of a semi oval, and part of the roof above the entrance is pointing up, almost like a triangle, except the sides of the triangle are under tension, and bending into the area of the triangle like shape. On both sides, infront of the entrance, there are two gigantic tree stumps, both leaning to the right. Both those trees had leaned so much to the right they kind of snapped, and bent straight down, on the grass, off of the path. Meanwhile, on top of the building, there is a massive, gigantic tree. Twilight gasps at the size of the tree on top. That tree is even bigger than her tree house she used to live in. That tree is so huge that she even reckoned it would take a few beams of magic from even Tirek to reduce that tree to just flames.
"Woah... this place is... hhhuuuggggeeee, and old!" Sabre was the first to say his impression of the buildings colossal size.
"As Light Steve isn't here to say his line, I'll say it for him," Pinkie Pie says to herself inside of her mind.
"LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT TREE!" Pinkie Pie loudly exclaimed, pointing at the tree on top of the building with her left forehoof.
"Yeah, it's massive," Sabre responded.
"It looks like it's the centre of this swamp. I think this swamp- I knew it didn't feel natural. This swamp must of grown around this tree. This is the epicentre of all of it. But still, it feels old, ancient, almost. The Unnamed ran into there." Just moments later, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy regroups with the rest.
"Everything will be okay. Whatever we face, we'll face it together. We're all in this as a team," Rainbow Dash reassuringly said to Fluttershy, who just gave a single, gentle nod as the response.
"This place is super eerie..." Pinkie Pie spoke in slow motion, taking another one of Light Steve's lines from episode 259 of Rainbow Quest.
"Everyone, listen. All stick close together, behind me," Sabre instructed. All of a sudden, the elite Colourless Guard takes of their helmet, a Yellow Steve.
"Hey," Said Yellow Steve.
"Yellow Steve with the leather chest plate?" Sabre responded. The Yellow Steve nodded.
"Yellow Steves are fast- Wait, that may work out if we get in danger. Yellow, Rainbow Dash, you two are on support if we get in danger. If anything happens, as you two- Well, Rainbow Dash probably would be able to get us all out of here... in under ten seconds- Doesn't matter, you two, as you're probably the fastest out of everyone here, you need to be ready to get us out of here," Sabre instructed.
"Is that... even possible to get... everyone out of here in under ten seconds?" Yellow Steve wondered, quickly looking at Rainbow Dash.
"With me, of course," The light blue pegasus responded with a higher than normal pitch voice.
"Twilight, your magic can heal. You're also on support. If any of us get hurt, you'll need to be ready to use your magic to heal us, got it?"
"I'll be ready to do so Sabre," Twilight responded.
"I'll be on front line, okay... here we go... into the building, alright," Sabre said as he first steps into the building. Everyone else slowly follows close by. Inside, the floor is mostly made of cobblestone, with some kind of writing engraved into it with polished blackstone. On the left and right hand side, there is 3 pillars made of stone bricks and yet more cobblestone. On each pillar, there are 2 ball like structures, in the middle and near the top, emitting light from some kind of dark block with purple scratches across it. Other areas are also lit, by light blue fire. However, most areas inside a almost pitch black.
"Everyone, be careful. This place is dark. Madness could come here any second," Sabre warned everyone.
"There is also writing on the ground... hmm. Interesting," Twilight pointed out, looking at the ground beneath her.
"Yeah your right, what does it say?" Sabre wondered.
"I know it's the Galactic Language, but that's all I know," Twilight answered. Sabre nodded.
"Wait, there's stairs ahead. I think the Unnamed went up those stairs." Sabre walks further ahead, where there is a set of stairs made of red nether bricks, the thick stair railings being made of polished black stone. Everyone follows Sabre on the set of stairs to the right.
"Hello? Hello-" As Sabre makes it at the top of the stairs, he sees many bookshelves being held up by chains from the floor. At the top, the floor is the shape of a diamond, made of those red nether bricks, and a smaller black diamond shape in the middle. In the centre of that diamond shape is an enchantment table, and infront of that enchantment table, is the Unnamed.
"YOU! It's you!" Sabre yelled he he gets to the top.
"Don't move!" Yellow Steve shouted at the armour.
"Unnamed, I never chose to free you, and cause all of this to happen! How could you betray me like that!? You promised me so much more!" Sabre exclaimed, annoyed with the armour.
"How... DARE you! I told you I would give you results! These ARE your results!" The Unnamed snapped back. The voice made the mane 6 for certain jump, and makes Fluttershy step back slightly. But everyone's eyes are solely focused on the red armour, the mane 6 frowning as they glare at the Unnamed.
"People were in danger, and so I removed the people."
"Technically... he isn't wrong," Said Yellow Steve, looking over to everyone else before looking back at the Unnamed.
"I gave you answers. I gave you what you wanted. You should've been more specific!" The Unnamed snapped at Sabre.
"You know what I meant," Sabre responded, nowhere at the same volume as the Unnamed.
"What did you do with every steve from this world?" Twilight questioned the armour.
"They're here... you can't see it. All the steves you miss, and wish to return... are here..." The Unnamed replied, speaking at a slower pace in his reply.
"They will forever be here Twilight... thanks to Sabre-"
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Rainbow Dash interrupt, as she punches the armour with her left forehoof, with all her might. All it did, is it gave her a very sore hoof.
"Rainbow Dash! You could've been destroyed!" Sabre snapped.
"It's okay... just got a real sore hoof..." Rainbow Dash grunted, moaning as she pulled her left forehoof close to her chest.
"The armour is nobody... Rainbow Dash. Who will you hurt? Nobody. You can't do anything to me..." Said the Unnamed.
"How do you know our names?" Applejack asked.
"I've been speaking to Sabre... inside of his head. All I needed was one chain to remove me from my restraints," The Unnamed replied.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting to have the chance to get out of that. Forever... it feels like it's been forever, but now... I'm out... COMPLETELY free!"
"Who are you exactly?" Rarity questioned the armour next.
"Many call me the Whisperer, the Unnamed. Steves have heard me for generations. I've spoken to them, waiting... spreading what I do best..." The Unnamed replied.
"Then finally, you showed up..." The Unnamed said to Sabre.
"...and your band of misfits!"
"Everyone, please. Get a little further back. I don't know what he can do, but we have to be ready," Sabre requested. Everyone does so, and takes a few steps back down, Fluttershy stepping back the most.
"Oh... I won't do anything to you, Sabre. Not to your friends? That's another story..." The Unnamed responded.
"Sabre. Please. Be careful," Fluttershy stuttered.
"I will, Fluttershy, I'll try," Sabre responded.
"You will be fine Sabre. I owe all of this to you. My very existence... was thanks to you..." The Unnamed responded to Sabre.
"Not the steves... they are mine... I claim them... as mine..."
"Your existence... was because of me!? What are you- What are you even talking about!?" Sabre exclaimed.
"You're still in that armour? Whoever you are, why don't you come out of that armour!? Come and face us, if you aren't scared to!" Rainbow Dash snapped. The Unnamed gave out an eerie chuckle.
"Scared? No... I've just been speaking to you all, but you all have been looking at something else! Because of Sabre I was able to get out of this armour... be free... and now... I'm back to my TRUE FORM! FREE from that PRISON! I've REPURPOSED it!"
"Behold... this... is who I am..." A figure walks up the stairs from the back. This figure is completely black and has 2 shining, glowing purple eyes. The figure is wearing a red outfit made of ribbon over their shoulders and head, the bottom of which has gold edges. The same red ribbon is around their torso, which the left side ends higher up, above their left knee. The bottom and top of that ribbon has the same gold colour outlining, the top part having a diamond in the middle. They also have a diamond on the middle of their chest. On each wrist, there is a shiny blue bracelet. The appearance alone made everyone feel uneasy.
"I... am the Unnamed, the enchanter of all things... the Curserer... the Second One..."
"Aren't you also known as the First Curse?" Pinkie Pie asked, again thinking about Rainbow Quest episode 259. The figure instantly stares at Pinkie Pie.
"Yes... I don't know how you know that. But, it doesn't matter," The Unnamed replied.
"The armour, you weren't in there? We chased it here! Who is it-"
"It doesn't matter Sabre, because the armour is NOW MINE!" Another voice shouted from the back of the building. Another figure flies over from the back of the building, out of the dark patches. As the figure got closer, everyone could see who it is, Madness Steve. Things have become a lot more dangerous.
