After getting patched up by Alfred upon Bruce and Dick's return to the batcave, Dick returned to his room while he waited on Bruce to get patched up as well. Dick took a seat on his window ledge and looked out the window over the city. His thoughts were so jumbled that it was giving him a headache.

He thought over what Bruce and Wally told him but he also thought about what would happen in the future if Zatanna didn't stop her actions. Lastly, he thought about Barabra, she had made him happy over the last six months.

When he finally gained the courage to ask her out, he had been a nervous wreck all day. Barabra picked up on his mood and continuously asked all day until she broke his barrier and he confessed that he wanted to be more than just friends. She instantly smiled at him and nodded while throwing her arms around him and giving him a tight hug.

They have been through a lot of firsts in the last 6 months. Dick had been more hesitant to be more physical in their relationship because of his upbringing. His mother always taught him to respect women and take things slow so you don't force them into anything before they are ready.

Barabra has been his guiding hand in all of it and was teaching him what was okay to do and what was not okay which he greatly appreciated. About two weeks before this incident, Barabra and Dick shared their first kiss.

It was sweet and gentle, nothing more than a simple peck as they were both inexperienced. After their first kiss, Dick began to become more confident in their relationship and began to be more willing to hold hands, hug, and steal kisses when no one was looking.

Dick was broken out of his thoughts when his personal phone started to ring. Barabra's face lit up the screen as it showed her call ID on the screen. Dick stood there watching it until the screen went to black once again and Barabra was taken to his voicemail.

Dick's gaze returned back to the window as he ran a hand through his hair. He wanted badly to talk to her and reaccount everything that happened to him in the last 24 hours but he was too afraid of how she would react that Zatanna kissed him even if it wasn't under his consent. He didn't want to hear her disappointed or sad, he didn't want to lose the trust and progress that they had built up over the last six months.

Dick was broken out of his thoughts by Bruce knocking on his door. Dick stayed looking out the window before calling out, "Come in." He heard the door knob automatically turn and the door open. Bruce walked up behind him and placed his hand on Dick's shoulders. "Come on, let's go to bed. It's been a long day chum."

Dick took one last glance out the window before moving towards his bed. Bruce grabbed his blankets and pulled it back, allowing Dick to slide into bed. Bruce pulled the blankets up to his shoulders and tucked it snugly around him.

Bruce sat down in front of him and ran a hand through his hair. "Did you decide what you are going to do about Barabra?" Bruce asked. Dick shrugged, "I've thought about it but I think I'll sleep on it for a few days."

Bruce nodded and gathered Dick up into his arms. Bruce began rocking as he ran his hands through Dick's hair again. Dick closed his eyes and started to relax before sleepily saying, "I'm getting too big for this." Bruce smiled and continued his rocking, "never".

Apologies for disappearing again, school got in the way plus christmas vacation didn't give me time to update any stories. I plan on updating more regularly since I am back in school and am back on a more stable routine. I'm one semester from graduating so I am getting pretty busy but expect another longer update later this week. :)
