Once inside of Parum's gates, I was in awe at how beatiful the place looked like in full-scope and anime style. It looked like the most impressive city I'd ever seen... if not for the fact that I'd been to Vegas, Los Angeles, and even Miami.

"The guild is up towards the north up a few flights of stairs. To the left of the stairs is the healing house, where you can take your injured Nexomon to get healed up... and the shop is to the right of the stairs. If you get some spare change, you can get more supplies there, such as potions, elixers, food, and Nexotraps," Amelie said, me smirking at that... and how she had to hold onto Ross's hood to keep him from rushing off in a haste.

"Sounds fun," I smirked, Coco translating for me. We then proceeded to the staircase and I looked up... to see it was almost exactly like the stairs in Kung-Fu Panda... as in, a metric butt ton of them!

"THIS is a FEW STAIRS?" I asked in shock, Amelie smiling at me.

"I see you're still learning how to sense sarcasm... no need for a translation from that shocked whimper," Amelie smirked, me facepalming myself. I REALLY wanted to learn how to get some kind of translator at some point. Just ANYTHING to make it so that people could understand me!... Maybe Bonnie, when I finally met her. And after climbing all 139 stairs (I counted them, for real) we finally got to the guild, but I was pretty tired, as was Coco.

"Hoogh... I feel like I've shaved a few years... off my life..." I panted afterwards.

"I agree with what she said..." Coco groaned.

"What did she say, then?" Amelie asked with a stern gaze.

"That we're very excited... to get our jobs," Coco smirked, lying for me.

"Thanks for the save," I smiled at him as I then gave him a knuckle-bump the moment that Amelie turned her back to the guild entrance and went inside. Nora did giggle, but Amelie didn't notice. We then went inside and went up to the front desk, where I saw the most uncaring receptionist in the entirety of fiction.

"Saria... Saria!" Amelie said, the secretary then holding her finger up as she continued to text something on her phone while blowing bubble gum.

"Hold it... almost done," she said, earning a groan from Amelie. And after a few more clicks, she finally put it down. "Done... now what's up, boss?" she asked, me smirking at how uncaring she was, even to Amelie.

"We have four newcomers that want to be tamers," Amelie said.

"Technically 3... I'm just a translator for Sunny," Coco smirked.

"Translator, huh?... Let me guess. Nexomon tongue, huh?" she asked, that making everyone in my group look at me in surprise, myself wanting to do the same as well!

"Hold the phone... Nexomon tongue? Is that why she only speaks in yips and barks? She's part Nexomon?" Amelie asked in surprise.

"Heh, I would know how hard it is. Spent nearly 30 years trying to learn English myself," the receptionist said, me then gasping at that.

"YOU'RE PART NEXOMON, TOO?!" I asked in shock, very loudly.

"Yeah, I am. My mother was a Madamusa... it's why I don't give a crap about anything... too much emotion makes my brain do bad stuff to others..." she said, me smiling at that. It made sense, since she had pink hair on her head and a slightly bigger head than she had in the game.

"Well... you never told me that before, Saria," Amelie frowned.

"Duh. Because you made it illegal for those kinds of relations. Remember that? After the first dragon rampage? You threw the book hard after that," she said with a frown as she then had a bit of a glow happen to her hair strands before she then did some deep breathing. "Oogh... getting worked up... best not to do that..." she sighed.

"Very well. I apologize for that... I entrust you to be a good egg, though, same with you, Sunny," Amelie said, me giving a thumbs-up as Saria then looked at me and my friends.

"So, you three no-furs want a pass... at least one Nexomon is required... we take anyone, basically," she said.

"Okay, I already don't like her," Coco stated bluntly.

"That's fine. I don't like you either," she admitted, which made Coco frown afterwards.

"Oof, hard blow, buddy," I said with a smile as I then presented my 8 Nexomon partners I'd got from either Dorothy or on the way over, and she was surprised at my haul.

"Huh, a lot of rare ones on you. Any chance there was some kind of Mega Rare get-together?" she asked with a smile.

"Let's just say... I found a very secret spot that had tons of rare Nexomon in it... hidden underneath a large statue," I smiled.

"You mean that statue behind the orphanage? Well, I guess I should've went there, then," Ross smirked at that.

"Yeah, no. Because the dragon attacked us there... luckily, though, since Sunny could talk to it, the dragon realized it smelled the wrong thing... it smelled Ziegler's scent on her, so that's why he attacked," Coco said, me smiling at how he was lying so effectively.

"Cool... anyways, here's your bronze card," she said, me immediately grabbing it and... then, not even meaning to, I did the twirl with the card being held in the sky... me being just as surprised as everyone else in the place.

"I uh... didn't mean to do that..." I said with awkwardness, that making the receptionist then have her hair start to glow again and me gulping at that.

"Rgmm... hmm... she's got the spinny disorder in her. Anytime she gets anything important, she's gonna be spinning like that weather she wants to or not... no cure, sadly," Saria said, me sighing at that.

"Ahem... that's uh... weird..." Nora admitted.

"I didn't even know that was a disease," Amelie frowned.

"Usually only happens when someone is messed with a person from the other side... and since she was close enough to the grim reaper Tyrant, Ziegler, then it's no surprise she's got it," Saria said, me looking at the others and then at the receptionist.

"It's not contagious, is it?" I asked.

"No, not contagious. Just annoying," she said.

"Oof, ain't that the truth," I groaned... at least I was able to finally talk to another person that could understand everything I said! And after Ross and Nora got their cards (and Coco got an official translator's license that he wore on his furry chest with pride) Amelie then looked at us with smiles.

"Well, time to give you your first jobs. Nora and Ross, you'll be given some jobs around Parum to do... and Sunny will be given a different job," Amelie said with a smile.

"Wait, what?! I thought we'd all work together!" Ross said in annoyance.

"You're going to work together at some point, but for right now, not a chance. You need to learn how to work individually. Otherwise, you're not going to last in the tamer business," Amelie said.

"Don't worry, Ross. It'll just mean that you can prove your own worth," I smile at him.

"Um... Coco, translation?" Ross asked.

"She said not to worry because it means you can prove your worth... yeah," Saria said, me smirking at that.

"I thought I was the translator, here?" Coco asked, me smiling at him.

"You are, but I don't mind it... mainly because I'm just relieved that people other than you are able to understand me," I smiled.

"Yeah, you're right," Coco smirked as Amelie led us to her office and we saw the second best character in the game, that being the rash and brash miner, Videl.

"Hey, Amelie? Have you gotten me my protection yet?" she asked in annoyance, me smiling at how she sounded like Misty from the Pokemon anime.

"Yes, these brand new Tamers will be your protection," Amelie said with a smile, Videl looking at me and Coco and looking annoyed and upset.

"What?! New bronzers?! I thought we'd agreed you'd give me some strong tamers!" she said in anger.

"And indeed, they are strong. Mainly for one reason that I found out about just recently. Sunny, if you'd oblige?" Amelie asked, me then smirking at that.

"Don't worry, we'll be better protection than even a Silver tamer," I smirked at her... and Videl gasped at that...

"You... you're speaking Nexomon?! I can't believe it! Another half-breed other than me!" Videl smirked widely, that making Coco gawk... but I honestly wasn't surprised... considering her extreme strength, I could only guess that she was part Nexomon, after learning that Saria the receptionist was also one.

"Really? Cool! What's your Nexomon relative? I'm only asking because I don't know my heritage," I said, lying on purpose.

"Glad you asked! My dad was a Grath, one of the toughest and buffest Nexomon out there! I mine rocks for a living because of my dad's strength being passed down. I may look skinny as a stick, but I can smash a boulder in one swift motion!" Videl smirked proudly.

"Hmm... I guess that outlawing interrelations only encouraged it..." Amelie thought aloud.

"Um... hello? Earth to Amelie? What's our job going to be again?" Coco asked.

"Oh! Ahem... you two are going to accompany Videl to the nearby mining site to the southeast of Parum. Normally, we'd let it be, but the lake surrounding the lake and the mines themselves have completely frozen over for some bizarre reason, causing the nearby Nexomon to run rampant. Your job is to protect her until she can get at the gems deep within the mine. And your reward will be worthwhile," Amelie smirked.

"You can go ahead and get supplies and heal up on the way there, but don't keep me waiting," Videl smirked, me smiling at her.

"I'll try to be quick about it, Videl," I smiled, her smirking at me and then going out of the office for Amelie to smile at me.

"I might try to look at the laws I made in my anger back in the day and change a few here and there, now that I see that very respectable people happen to be secret crossbreeds," Amelie smiled.

"Thanks," I smiled at her as Coco and I then left, me wondering if that would also mean that I'd be protected from getting hunted by Vados in the future... if I was half Tyrant, I was still half Nexomon. So I really hoped that she'd change the laws around to include protection. And after leaving the room to go down the stairs, I gulped at how the height was long, but knew I'd be okay so long as I didn't trip.

"Wouldn't it be awful if someone got pushed down this staircase? Imagine how many bruises they'd get," Coco smirked, me then flicking him on the ear.

"How about, instead of talking about that, you and I talk about the fact that Amelie's thinking about loosening laws based on human-Nexomon children making?... I didn't even know that was something people did, let alone the first two people we'd meet in the Guild, but I just hope that she makes it so that, whenever she loosens them, it'd also include protection, for obvious reasons I already shared with you," I said, Coco smiling and nodding.

"Yeah... but about that spinny thing you've got from Ziegler... I wonder if that'll stick around after we fix everything?" Coco asked, me knowing what he meant, even if the others walking past us up the stairs did not.

"I surely hope not. And if Ziegler managed to give me that disease, he better be able to take it away. Because I don't want to look like a doof every time I get anything important," I said with a sigh.

"We can only hope... also, I noticed that two of your Nexotraps got teleported away after you got your bronze card... so where are they?" he asked, me smiling at that.

"We can only find out by going to the nearby healing station," I said, him nodding at that.

"Good point," he smiled.

"No, this is," I smirked as I pointed at the healing station, which made him start to laugh out loud.

"Okay, that was the stupidest, yet funniest joke I've ever heard! HAHAHA!" he guffawed, literally falling down from how much he was laughing. At least I could still make jokes, so that was good.
