After healing the Nexomon on my team and getting a couple supplies from the shop next-door (potions, elixirs, Nexotraps), Coco and I went down the path to where Videl was at, her waiting by the Tamer Camp to the southeast of Parum.
"Thanks for not keeping me waiting. We gonna get going now?" Videl asked.
"Yes, we will," I smirked as we then went down the path, only to get jumped by two different thugs that were from the cult of Omnicron.
"You! Give us all your Nexomon and loot right now!" the one on the right said, Videl simply punching them in the gut very quickly and strongly, which made them fall to the ground with the wind knocked out of them.
"I mine rocks for a living. Don't bug me," she said as she then went down the path with me and Coco following her. We then arrived at the frozen lake and Videl looked at it with a small frown.
"Yep, that lake sure looks frozen. I wonder what could possibly do that?" I asked.
"Who knows? Maybe it was some kind of Nexomon? That's why I hired you for help, so protect me at all costs," Videl said, me nodding as we then went inside the cave. After doing so, I immediately felt the chills from the frigid air as we then went on the ice and I saw that it was able to be traversed normally, so long as you went slowly and carefully. As for Coco? He slipped and fell roughly 10 times before then simply resorting to holding onto my legs.
"Ugh, I wish I wasn't declawed, then I could get a better grip on this ice," Coco frowned.
"Don't worry, I'm not too good on ice either. I'm a beach person at heart," I smiled, since my home back in my world was North Carolina, right by the beach. We continued through the cave and, during the process, I managed to catch some more Nexomon in the form of Bloopish, Coral, and Scooptor. I decided to send all of them back to base, since my current team was stronger than they were. After traversing through the place and getting some ore from the normal rocks, we then reached the motherload, it being very big and very impressive.
"Here we are. Now that we're here, nothing should happen," Videl smiled as she then made a single swing to the ore and then, immediately, we had a large quake on the ground. "What was that?" she asked... before the ground beneath her crumbled away, her then screaming in fear afterwards!
"VIDEL!" I shouted, me looking down the hole and seeing that Videl was okay. "ARE YOU OKAY?" I asked her from the top of the hole.
"I'm fine, just a bit sore... There's a lot of ore down here, though... I'm gonna explore a bit, come down, would ya?" she asked, me looking at Coco and him then setting up a ladder from our supplies so we could go down after her. And when we did, we saw she had already gotten to most of the ore, us following her trail until we saw the sight that made me gasp. She was a frozen ice cube!
"Videl! D-Don't worry, we'll save you!" I said as I got out my fire type Nexomon in the form of Nekpanchi. He then proceeded to unfreeze Videl, who proceeded to sneeze loudly as the blue-haired bitch then arrived.
"HAHA! It appears that you've fallen down, haven't you?" she asked, me frowning at her.
"You did this to her, didn't you? I'm gonna turn you in for this!" I said with seriousness as I then took a battle stance.
"Heh, you obviously don't know how to speak English. So how could you turn me in? Besides, I'd rather just capture you right now. More captives means more money!" she smirked as she then snapped her finger and we all then looked surprised as her Tyrant slammed down from above us. It was Nivalis in the flesh.
"Whoa! I-Is that... It's a TYRANT!" Coco gawked as I simply stood my ground.
"You think you can scare me? Let me show you why you don't mess with me or my friends!" I said as I then sent out my entire team at Atlanta, her than gasping at that.
"H-Hey! You can't do that! That's cheating! Nivalis, kill them!" she commanded her giant ice Tyrant, my Nexomon proceeding to attack him all on their own and all at once. And Nivalis was weakened as of current, so it didn't last too long before falling down and getting knocked out! "ACK! You... You actually defeated Nivalis?! You bitch!" Atlanta yelled at me angrily as I simply whistled at her.
"Looks like I AM able to defeat a Tyrant! And I'm only a Bronze Tamer! You got trounced by a rookie, so I must ask. Which of us is really the bitch?" I asked with a smirk.
"That depends on what you consider as being bitchy," said the voice of none other than Edward, who appeared from where we came with Bonnie.
"E-Edward! N-No... Why?" Atlanta asked in annoyance.
"Bonnie, status report," Edward smiled.
"Statistics show that Nivalis has sustained heavy damage. You have nearly 100 percent chance to succeed!" the bright and chipper scientist smirked... but it was only then that I realized what had happened. Edward actually understood me? I simply smiled as I then took a single step towards Atlanta and she audibly Eep'd at me.
"Get away from me, you crazy cunt!" she shouted before then teleporting herself and Nivalis away, which made Coco surprised.
"Whoa! What happened to them?" Coco asked.
"Bah! They had a Warp Stone on hand... should be expected, though," Edward frowned as I smiled at him.
"So... are you also part Nexomon? Because you were able to understand me," I asked Edward.
"Nope, I just have a special translation device on me that allows me to understand Nexomon tongue. It's Bonnie's special invention," he smiled at me. "Though I am impressed, being able to completely defeat Nivalis, a powerful Tyrant, when it's just your first mission? You could get a rank up very early if you keep this up!" Edward smirked at me with a smile.
"But it is very confusing to hear a human that has a Nexomon as a parent... is that why you talk in yips and barks? Because you can't talk English?" Bonnie asked, me nodding.
"Yes. Is it possible to give me a translator on my person? To let people who don't speak Nexomon to understand me?" I asked, Coco translating that for me.
"But of course, I can! But we should be getting out of here first," Bonnie smiled, us then leaving the long way, us getting to the outside of the place while beating up more Nexomon and getting to the Warp Stone outside of the place.
"Well, I do say, I didn't expect any of this to happen at all... but I am grateful for you guys rescuing me. And it was kinda awesome seeing you cheat and beat up Nivalis with your whole team," Videl smiled.
"Well, she was being a criminal. And, if you ask me, the only way to defeat a criminal is to be a criminal back to them. Right?" I smiled, Edward smirking at me.
"Heh. You have impressed me, miss Sunny. So much, I think I'll give you a small bit of a payment for your bravery," he said as he then gave me a warp device... and I then had my spinnny disorder activate as I spun around and held it in the air.
"Ugh... I hate that stupid spinning... So what is it?" I asked, playing dumb.
"That is a warp device that is able to go between these special warp stones if your device has them activated. The one in Parum is always active, but all the others will need to be activated for your specific device. Here's one that you can use to get back to Parum quickly. I'll see you back there with Videl and give Amelie a good word of your work," Edward smiled as he, Bonnie, and Videl then gathered together.
"And don't worry, I'll get to work on making a Nexo-lingual translator for you, miss Sunny," Bonnie smiled at me as they then warped away, Coco looking at me with a smile.
"So, that was uh... how do I put this... THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN!" Coco gawked, me smirking at him. "You completely trounced a TYRANT for crying out loud! And on our first mission! And you were fearless! It was so cool!" he smirked as I simply did the same back.
"Yeah, I liked that I did it easily as well. Mainly because, in the game, you could only use one Nexomon at a time in any fight. So I decided to cheat, since I can," I smirked.
"Well, it sure as heck impressed even that Edward guy. From what I heard, he's also a Guildmaster rank! Let's get back to base so we can get some good things," Coco smiled. We then activated the device and, shortly after, we warped back to Parum in a snap. We then went up all the stairs to the guild once again, where we met Amelie in the lobby alongside Videl and Edward.
"From what Videl and Edward have told me, you not only protected Videl during the journey, but you also managed to defeat the Tyrant of ice, Nivalis and his owner, Atlanta. Normally I'd say that you were foolish to attempt it, but from what Edward said, you were very smart and had all your Nexomon attack Nivalis at the same time... I can't believe I've never thought of having our Tamers do that more often," Amelie said with a small smirk. "You have earned your reward and a bit more," she smirked as she handed us the normal items for completing the quest... as well as 5 of the different special dragon claws that could summon the Greater Dragons! Luckily, I didn't get a spinny thing this time, so I decided to ask a very important question, playing dumb again.
"So, what are these things? Why give me 5 differently-colored claws?" I asked with Coco translating.
"Those claws are used to summon Greater Dragons, like the one that you met at the Orphanage earlier, Graloon. Use them wisely and carefully, as the dragons will only listen to two people. One of our Guildmasters in Lydia, and whoever holds the special elemental claw that relates to the Greater Dragon. The ones I gave you are for Normal, Grass, Electric, Psychic, and Ghost dragons," Amelie said, me smirking at that.
"Cool!" I smiled widely.
"But before we continue, I have another job for you to do, and it's urgent," Amelie said as she led me to the meeting room and I saw that the mentor of the orphanage, Ross, and Nora were already there.
"Good, everyone's assembled," the mentor said... AKA, Grunda.
"What's this about, mentor? Is there something wrong?" Nora asked.
"Well, yes. The orphanage is currently under siege by bandits!" he said, me faking surprise with everyone else. "They've taken all the children and staff hostage and have strong Nexomon to back them up. I need the four of you to go there and stop them before anyone is hurt," he said, me nodding at that.
"You can count on us!" I said with seriousness.
"We can't leave anything to chance, as they are sure to outnumber us. We should get only our strongest Nexomon to assist us," Nora said, us then disembarking for the orphanage from the guild... and that only meant leg pain for all of us as we had to walk down all the stairs to even go down to the bottom of the city.
"Ugh... why couldn't they have built the guild in the center of the city instead of high above it?" Ross asked in annoyance.
"Hehe... Sunny and I agree with you," Coco smirked.
"Enough dawdling, we have to get to the orphanage," Nora said with seriousness. And we did. We didn't want any of the kids to be endangered, even if I didn't know any of them. I had to protect the innocent. That was what a true queen would do, after all!
