Luz got on Lilith's staff and they took off. Lilith noticed Luz's nervous looks.

"Hey, everything will be alright." Lilith said, "I won't let anything bad happen to you."

"Thanks Aunt Lily." Luz said.

"Just try and calm down." Lilith said, "We'll be there soon."

Luz tried to calm down on the way there. In another part of the Isles, Skara was walking down the stairs to the front door.

"Bye mom! Bye dad!" Skara said, "I'm going to hang out with Boscha!"

Skara closed the door and her parents looked at the door. Her mom pulled out the paper and read it over. She was having a hard time accepting it, there was no way it could be true.

"This has to be a prank. She's a witch, not a vampire." Skara's mom said.

"Rebecca, we both know that Skara doesn't pull pranks like this. The most dangerous thing she's done was throw water balloons filled with paint on people." Skara's father said.

"How did this happen then, Marcus!? How did my baby become a vampire!?"

"I don't know, but what I do know, is that she is still our daughter. No matter what she is, she is Skara Melody, our daughter."

Rebecca looks at the paper.

"What are we going to do?" She asked, "Oh, jeez, how long do you think this has been going on? It's common knowledge that vampires can't eat normal food; we've probably been poisoning her for a while!"

Marcus hugged his wife as she started crying.

"I've been hurting my baby because I was too stupid to notice any changes!"

"Rebecca, calm down. We know about this now, we can help her."

"How?"

"We can start by talking to her when she gets back."

Meanwhile, Luz and Lilith landed outside the castle. Luz saw pictures of it in school, but it looks more terrifying up close. Lilith placed a hand on Luz's shoulder.

"Just stay close to me." Lilith said.

Lilith led Luz into the castle and they stopped outside the door to the throne room.

"Okay, when we go in, just do what I do. Don't speak unless spoken too." Lilith said.

Lilith went in and Luz followed her. Lilith kneeled down in front of him and Luz did the same.

"My Emperor, we received your letter."

"Good, I was getting worried that I delivered it to the wrong place."

Lilith looked up and glared at the Golden Guard.

"You, why do-"

"Can we please have a civil conversation?" Belos asked, "Please leave us."

The Golden Guard bowed and left, leaving Luz, Lilith, and Belos alone.

"So, you're the vampire that killed Alaric?" Belos said, "I'm impressed."

Luz looked at him with curiosity and slightly nervousness. She tried to avoid showing it but he was able to see it in her eyes.

"I have a proposition for you." He said.

Luz was taken aback. What could he possibly want with her?

"What do you mean?" Luz asked.

"Let me explain. There was one vampire that tried to end the rule of witches and I believe there are more." Belos said.

"And what does that have to do with me?"

"Well, you killed the Vampire King, so that officially makes you the new vampire monarch. Vampire's must listen you. I believe this can be beneficial for everyone. You prevent vampire's from trying to start an uprising and in return I will heal your mother of her curse."

Luz thought about that for a minute. On the one hand, she didn't trust the Emperor as far as she could throw him. On the other, this is the only chance she has for Eda, the person that has given her more then she could ever imagine, to be cured. Her mind was made up.

"What do you have in mind?" Luz asked.

Belos walked over to a wall covered in Coven banners. He pulls a cord and a black and grey banner unravels. The banner had a crescent moon with bats flying in the sky, there was a light fog type graphic near the bottom that lightly covered a figure. The figure had a cloak and fangs slightly sticking out of their mouth. The only thing with color on the flag was a small trickle of blood coming from the lips and their eyes.

"Ms. Clawthorne, Queen of Vampire's, you will hence be known as the first leader of... the Shadow Coven."

"The Shadow Coven?" Luz asked.

"A new Coven, one that will be for vampires only." Belos said, handing her a paper, "I am a reasonable man. Take a few days to think about it, then contact me with your decision."

"I..." Luz put the paper in her pocket, "I'll think about it."

"Just so you know, if you accept, vampires will not need to hide anymore, hunting them will become a crime. Think of the joy it will bring everyone."

Luz and Lilith walked out of the room. Belos waited until he was certain they were gone before making his way to the hunter.

"Remember the plan. That Bard friend of hers is the target." Belos said, "Send someone that doesn't have much experience or connections. We can't let anyone know about this."

Belos, he has all the cards. Yes, I reused part of the original chapter for this. I will put this on hold until Family Secret and Jealousy are completed, so it'll only be about week. That fair? Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
