Miss Night wrote on the chalkboard. There was a drawing of Fangs along with three different words; Blood Magic, Shadow Magic, Miscellaneous.
"Now, first, when someone thinks of a vampire, what's the first thing that comes to mind?" She asked.
Luz raised her hand.
"Fangs?"
"Correct." Miss Night said, "Now, there are several types of fangs. Each one having a different purpose, whether it be for hunting, intimidation, status, or all three. These however."
She put her pointer stick at the drawing.
"These, are the most iconic in existence. When Vampires started to evolve into the creatures of the night, these were the original fangs, even today, vampires still have these. Every fang style has originated from. Today, I'll look at your fangs and see where yours land."
She walked over to Boscha.
"Alright, let's see them."
Boscha opened her mouth and Miss Night looked at them.
"Interesting. These ones are very rare, only seen among the high elite."
Boscha closed her mouth and smirked.
"Well, I am very elite." Boscha said, "Nice to know that even my fangs can recognize it."
Luz rolled her eyes and Miss Night went over to Skara. Skara opened her mouth and Miss Night looked at them.
"Hm, vampires with these typically try and avoid conflicts. They use their fangs as intimidation to deter any enemies."
"Just like in real life. Skara is a smol passive bean." Luz said.
"I don't like conflict unless I have no choice. They do help keep take out my prey easier." Skara said.
She walked over to Luz and immediately kneeled when she saw Luz's fangs.
"I-I-it's an honor to have a royal in the class." Miss Night said.
Luz looked at Skara and Boscha, who looked just as confused as her. She knows Belos said that killing the last King makes her the official ruler of vampires, but what does that have to do with her fangs? They've been this way since she became a vampire.
"What do you mean?"
"These fangs are only seen among royal vampires. Having these fangs mean you're a part of the royal family."
The three teens look at each other, not understanding what's going on. In Clawthorne Manor, Lilith just finished explaining to Eda what happened.
"She became a Coven Leader!?"
"Edalyn, calm down."
"Shut the hell up, Lily!" Eda said, "A Coven Leader? Why would she accept that?!"
"Because it makes Vampire Hunting illegal!" Lilith said, "One of her friends was attacked while you were gone. This is the only way she could save her friends. Belos also said he would heal you of your curse."
"Lilith, I can't trust what he says."
"Edalyn, I know you don't believe in the Coven system, but there isn't any other way. Luz already lost one mother, she can't lose you too."
"But... she's close to an enemy. Everyone knows he hates vampires, what if he tries something?"
"I don't know, but this is something Luz felt she had to do."
"Why though? Why does she have to do it? She isn't responsible for what happen."
"That's a conversation you two need to have."
In the school, Miss Night moved onto the next lesson.
"Now, there are three types of Vampire Magic. There is Blood Magic, Shadow Magic, and then Miscellaneous Magic. Blood Magic is when you manipulate the blood of a victim, or in your own body, to enhance magic or perform spells. It is the highest, and most dangerous, form of vampire magic. Even the simplest mistake has the risk of killing you. Shadow magic is the most common Vampire Magic type. You manipulate the shadows to obey your command, it's the most diverse type of magic, with thousands of spells that can be performed. Then there's the Miscellaneous type. This is exactly what it sounds. There's no understanding of how or why vampires are able to perform these, but we can." Miss Night sits on her desk, "I'm sure you three have learned a few spells. I want to see what you know. Who's first?"
Boscha stood up and walk to the front of the class.
"Well, I guess I'll go first. I think I excel at the Miscellaneous type, because this doesn't really involve shadows or blood. The spell I do best with, is Shapeshifting."
Boscha closed her eyes and focused. She turned into a grudgby ball, which was pink, and then into a coatrack, also pink, then turned back.
"Tada!" She said, "I can't change my color, so everything I turn into is pink."
"Well, you were just turned, so the fact that you can even do something of that level is amazing." Miss Night said, "Who would like to go next?"
Skara got up and walked up.
"Well, I seem to be good at... Shadow Travel?" Skara said.
Skara disappeared and reappeared in a shadow in the corner.
"Very good. It's quite good for a fledgling."
Luz was up next. She stood up and walked to the front of the room. She summoned her Shadow Claws. She Shadow Traveled and then used her Shapeshifting to turn into an owl.
"Amazing. You are clearly the most powerful."
Luz turned back and looked at her.
"Thanks, I was the first one turned, so I have had more time to learn."
"I see, so you're the Primus."
"Primus?" Skara asked.
"It is the leader of a Vampire Clan, Coven, or Brood. They are typically the oldest, most powerful, or the first vampire in the group."
"Yeah, that's her." Boscha said.
Luz thought about it. Could she be a leader? She's messed up so many times. She looked at Boscha and Skara. It was because of her that they were turned, all because she couldn't stop Alaric.
