Me: I should work on Vampyrism

My mind: Or you could play Ark.

"Why?" Amity asked, almost positive this is a trap, "Why would you do that?"

"Because, I'm tired of being a pushover. I'm sick of her." Alador said.

"Do you think we're going to fall for that?" Luz asked, not letting him up, "I won't let you hurt a hair on Amity's-"

"Luz, let him up."

"What?"

"Let him up." Amity said, "I'm giving him a chance."

Luz looked at Amity like she was crazy, but took her hand off him. She didn't take her eyes off of him though, she didn't trust him. Alador got up and dusted himself off.

"Amity, I know I haven't been the best father, but I hope to rectify that." Alador said, "If you'll allow me."

Amity looked at him, having an inner debate.

"Why should I?" Amity asked, "On what authority do you have that I should forgive you? I've been alive for fourteen years and you've barely given me a glance unless I did something that makes you proud."

Luz noticed Amity getting frustrated and grabbed her hand to calm her down.

"Amity, I'm not asking you to forgive me, all I'm asking is for you to give me a second chance. I will do whatever it takes to earn it." Alador said.

Amity started to think straight and came up with a response.

"How's... how's Emira?"

"She's... adjusting." Alador said, "She wants to see you actually."

Amity went pale... well, more pale.

"Emira wants to see me?"

Luz tightened her grip on Amity's hand, telling her she's still here.

"Amity, you don't need to go if you don't want to."

"Luz, I... I have to." Amity said.

Luz looked at her and held her close.

"Okay, but I'm coming too."

"You don't need-"

"I do. It is my job to help my Awesome Girlfriend in her time of need."

Amity leaned her head on Luz's shoulder. In the woods, Skara was at the place they were rescued by the mysterious masked man. She sniffed the air and caught several scents, some of which she recognized and others she didn't.

"Okay, I can eliminate some of those, which means I can pick one of them and follow it."

Skara looked around a little before finally picking a direction.

"Okay, just follow the scent and I should be able to-"

Skara was cut off when something sharp and wooden went straight through her chest.
