For those that didn't notice, the previous chapter has an actual chapter now.

Eda had a firm grip on Lucia's shoulders. The Cannibal saw the look in Eda's eyes. Eda has fought against demons, vampires, witches, and everything in between, but that look... she's witnessed the power of Ghouls before.

"I got into a fight-"

"There are Ghouls again?" Eda said, "No one leaves the house."

Eda walked into the kitchen before any of them could say something. She returned a few minutes later, armed with her old crossbow.

"Mom, stop." Luz said, "What is going on?"

"Nothing, Luz, all you need to know is that Mama is going to handle this."

"Mom, seriously, what's the matter?" Luz asked, "What's going on, I can help yo-"

"No! You're going to stay here and that is fucking final!" Eda screamed.

Eda walked out the door, leaving the three of them inside. Skara, Luz, and Lucia looked at each other.

"There's something wrong. I haven't seen her act like that before." Luz said.

"That look in her eyes." Lucia said, "She's had to fight Ghouls before, and from the sounds of it, it didn't end well."

Luz got up and started to head for the door. She was stopped when Skara grabbed her wrists.

"Luz, I need to give you the folder I got." Skara said, "I've been trying to give it to you all day."

"Why? What's so important about it?"

"It might tell what's going on. Why all of this is happening."

After a few minutes, Eda made it to the end of the woods. She was walking backwards while aiming her crossbow. She felt her back touch something and turned around and pointed her crossbow at it. It was a metal fence. Eda sighed and lowered her crossbow.

"It's been a while since I was here."

Eda opened the gate and walked in. She had two stops to make before she continued. Eda walked for a few minutes before kneeling in front of a large stone.

"Hey, it's been a while... Rainestorm."

Eda looked at the stone as tears began to fall.

Raine Whispers

1972-1997

An Innocent Soul and lifetime friend

At the Owl House, Luz was looking through the folder, horrified with every page. Her horror eventually turned to anger, then fury. Her eyes were glowing and her teeth were barred. Luz stood up and walked towards the door.

"Luz, where are you going?" Lucia asked.

"To find mom." Luz said.

"Luz, you are angry, you are in no mood to-"

"Angry doesn't even begin to cover it! I'm fucking furious!" Luz screamed, "Everything that I thought, everything I believed since I was turned, was a giant lie!"

"I'm not letting you out there, Luz." Lucia said, "It's too dangerous with what we know now."

Thunder rang in the sky and the three looked at each other.

"It's going to rain, and mom is still out there." Luz said, "So tell me, Lucia, between the two of us, which of us is immune to boiling rain?"

Lucia had a firm look on her face. She didn't want Luz to go out there, but she didn't have a choice.

"Fine, go." Lucia said, "Be careful, I don't want to hear you about you got hurt."

"Keep the light on, I'll be back soon. Keep Skara safe."

Luz went out the door and sprinted, trying to keep up with Eda's scent. It was very distinct, she smelt like alcohol and bitterness.

"Got her." Luz said, taking off in Eda's direction.

I'm just going to say it, this is the calm chapter.
