Eda set her crossbow down and ran a hand over the stone.

"I'm sorry, Raine, you died because of me." Eda said, "If you were here, I would tell you how much I love you."

Eda felt tears begin to fall again and anger began to fill her body. Eda slammed her fist on the ground.

"It should've been me! You had so much to live for! It should've been someone that had no goal in life, someone that no one would miss if she was murdered! It... it shouldn't have been someone that... that..."

Eda broke down crying as the last moments of Raine's life filled her mind.

Eda aimed her crossbow at the Ghoul's surrounded her. She's been alone since Lilith went back to the Coven. She's fired at one, but it didn't matter. She was outnumbered and was out of ammo. Eda tossed her crossbow aside and pulled out a knife.

"Come on, you freak! I'll take you on all by myself!" Eda said.

One tried to attack her but Eda managed to dodge and sliced its head. Eda swung her knife at them, cutting a few of them, before her knife was caught and thrown by a Ghoul. Eda backed against the wall and closed her eyes. This is it; this is where she dies.

"Mom, Dad, I'm coming."

Eda heard a door opened and someone shove her inside. Eda hit her head and was barely conscious when she was the person that was getting attacked, the person that saved her.

"Raine?"

"Stay safe, Eda." Raine said, "I love you."

Raine got grabbed by a dozen hands and pulled into the group, managing to kick the door closed as they're pulled out. Eda looked around and saw that she was in Raine's secret clubhouse. Eda shook her head to regain clear vision and ran towards the door and started to try and pry it open.

"Come on, come on!" Eda heard Raine scream in pain, "Open up you piece of shit!"

Eda made a spell circle and shot the door with her most powerful spell. It bounced off with ease and didn't even scratch the door.

"No! No! NO!" Eda said, "Raine, why do you have a magic resistant door!?"

Eda looked around Raine's secret room for anything that could help open the door. She looked through drawers until she found the code for the door. She unlocked the door and ran outside. She noticed that the Ghouls were gone... and Raine was on the ground. Eda ran over and kneeled next to them. Raine was practically ripped to pieces. Their head was missing half its skin, their arm was ripped off, their side and stomach were cut open, and their intestines were spilt over the ground.

"N-n-no... no!"

Eda stood up and grabbed her crossbow, while she wishes she could stay longer, she had another stop to make, one that she's ashamed to admit that she hasn't had the time.

"Hi mom, hi dad."

Eda wishes she had the words, but everything going on, bringing back these unpleasant memories, it's too much for her.

"Well... you're grandparents now." Eda said, "I got myself two daughters, adopted them after their mother was murdered. Then there's the kids that Lily has. She's gotten back together with her soulmate and that's... I don't even know where to begin with that."

Eda hung her head in shame.

"I wish you were both here, I could really use some advice." Eda said, "How do I be a parent? I think I already failed, because both my kids have been hurt and I just sat on my hands and did nothing. I'm a shitty parent."

"Must be genetic."

Eda turned around and pointed her crossbow at the man behind her.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Eda growled.

"What, can't I come and see my brother's grave?"

"We both know you couldn't give two shits about my dad." Eda said, aimed at his heart, "What. Are. You. Doing. Here."

"Well, I see there's no love for your Uncle." He said.

Eda glared at him, not trusting him in the least.

"Very well, I see you're still as stubborn as your father." He said, "So, I guess it only makes sense that you should die like him."

He snapped his fingers and dozens of Ghouls came charging out of the woods.

"Do you enjoy my new pets? A gift from an old ally." He said, "And if they don't kill you, then the Boiling Rain will. Goodbye my little Niece, I'll give your regards to your sister when I kill her."

Eda pointed her crossbow at the Ghouls, there was no way she could kill all of them with her limited ammo.

"Oh, I'm getting flashbacks."

Eda's Uncle walked into the woods, leaving Eda alone to die. Eda closed her eyes and dropped the crossbow. She knew there was no way out of it, even if she killed them, she is about to get caught in a Boiling Rainstorm.

"Mom... Dad... I'm coming."

I won't lie, I did censor a lot of Raine's death, originally their limbs, organs, and some bones were going to be scattered around the alleyway in extreme, graphic, detail. Follow, Favorite, and Review.
