I'm not actually a fan of how the chapter turned out, but I've rewritten it a few times and this is the best.
Lilith looked through the file, getting more horrified with each page.
"What the hell is wrong with him!?" Lilith screamed, "This would kill thousands! All for some ploy to make themselves look like heroes!?"
Eda was waiting for her to get to the page she knew Lilith would flip at.
"Belos told him to turn Luz!?"
Eda got up and took the file from her. It was time to go over this.
"Alaric, Belos, and Uncle Abel planned on releasing an army of Ghouls on the Isles." Eda said, "The Ghouls listen to them, so they were going to make it look like they beat them."
"Then they would use this support to gain allies and soldiers for their next mission. Combining the Human World and the Boiling Isles. Does that fool really think that Humans and Witches will be seen as equals?" Lilith asked.
"Not at all, he probably wants witches to enslave Humans. I wouldn't put it past him and his allies to think Humans are nothing but weaklings that can't survive without a 'true' leader. I mean, you remember what they taught us in school. We were taught that Humans are nothing but savages that just rage war on each other."
Lilith nodded slowly before realizing something.
"Edalyn, you realize that Belos has been watching you if he ordered Alaric to turn Luz."
"Yeah, he was probably going to use that to try and get the Portal somehow. Probably didn't realize how strong willed Luz is. She would never go along with any plan he cooks up."
"Edalyn... do you really think Uncle Abel ordered Alaric to kill our parents?"
"It's... not impossible." Eda said, "Do you remember when Dad told us that he learned something? Something that might be the death of him? He must've learned of this plan, which lead to a massive argument, which then lead to the fight we heard. The next day, our parents were dead."
"This is so much to deal with." Lilith said, "This could be the end of the Isles."
"I know." Eda said, "I don't think he realizes what Humans are capable of if they're threatened with extinction."
"What do you mean?"
Eda reached into her hair and pulled out pictures.
"I stole these photos from a museum. Something about World War II and a weapon that can wipe out an entire city." Eda said, "I believe they were called Atomic Bomb, dropped on a country called Japan. Worst part, they've only gotten bigger since then."
Lilith looked at the pictures in horror. She remembers Luz telling her a bit about that War. If this plan happens, who's to say that the Isles won't be the next ground zero?
"If just one of these drops on the Isles, everyone is dead." Lilith said, "We can't let this happen. He cannot get that key."
"Don't worry, we just need to make sure that they don't get it until after the Blood Moon, according to file, the moon will make the portal more powerful. I don't know how it does that, but they would need to do it on that day otherwise the portal won't have enough power."
"And where is the key?" Lilith asked.
"I left it with Luz. She's the only person I trust with it." Eda said, "No one will be able to get it as long as she has it."
At the Owl House, Golden Guard looked through the tree line. He had one mission... get the Key.
Now, for those wondering about the Phoenix, that will resume shortly, I'm just dealing with Writer's Block at the moment. I know where I want it to go, it's just one chapter I'm having a hard time making correctly.
