Luz was next to Lucia, trying to help her, while also trying to not throw up from seeing her sister's bone, muscles, and all that stuff in a leg regrow... also, Cannibal blood smells really bad.
"Luz, you don't need to be here you know." Lucia said.
"I do, it's my fault your leg got blown off."
"Why? Because someone was after you? Luz, you didn't do anything, you didn't ask for this." Lucia said, sitting up on her mattress, "Tell me, do you still blame yourself for mom's death?"
Luz looked at the ground. She doesn't care how many times someone will tell her that it wasn't her fault, she still feels responsible for it. If she never went through the portal, she would still be alive.
"Luz, it wasn't your fault. You never asked to be a vampire, you never asked to deal with some crazy king that was trying to work on some crazy conspiracy."
"No matter how much you tell me, it won't do anything to change how I feel." Luz said, "No matter what, I came here, which led to her dying."
"Luz-"
Lucia was cut off by a screech, one that Luz recognized.
"Lucia, stay here." Luz said, before running out of the room, "King, get an Elixir!"
Luz ran downstairs, where she saw the Owlbeast. Luz wasn't afraid this time, she knew who this was, and she has the power to stop it.
"Mom, listen to the sound of my voice, it's me, Luz!" Luz said, trying to get through to Eda.
The Owlbeast growled at Luz and slowly moved towards her.
"Fine, we'll do this the hard way."
The Owlbeast jumped at Luz, who quickly disappeared. Luz reappeared on the ceiling, coming out of a shadow and sticking to the ceiling. She stopped clinging to the ceiling and fell, landing on Eda.
"You made me do this Eda!" Luz said, making a black spell circle.
Luz was talking to Willow a while ago and practiced this for a while. A rare plant that even the most powerful Plant Witch couldn't summon... Blood Vines. The black plant, with blood falling out of it, wrapped around Eda. King came running down with an Elixir.
"I have it Luz, don't worry!"
"Hurry! She's trying to break out!"
Eda was moving like a bull at a rodeo. Luz was trying to hang on, but also not hurt Eda at the same time. It was a hard thing to do. King made it to the bottom step when Eda's claws hit the vines, sending blood everywhere and letting her go. Luz was knocked to the ground and the smell hit her nose. Her vision started getting red and she panicked.
"W-w-when was the last time I ate?" Luz asked.
The smell was enticing her. The taste of copper came to her mind, begging her to go feral, telling her to succumb to the hunger. She started to growl and looked at Eda, her vision showing her the veins, the blood inside her.
"Must... No! No!" Luz said, trying to fight the Hunger.
Eda began to charge at Luz, King unable to do something to stop the two beasts with his small size. He felt something rip the bottle out of his hands... paws... whatever he has and threw it at Eda. King looked up and saw Lucia, who taped a stick to her leg to keep her balance. The bottle landed in her mouth and the Owlbeast swallowed it and started to black out. Lucia, Meanwhile, put her arm in Luz's mouth and forced her to bite down. Cannibal Blood might smell horrible, but it tasted heavenly. It was thankfully enough to satisfy Luz's hunger... it's also one of the only things that can put a vampire to sleep. Luz fell asleep and Eda started to turn back. King looked at Lucia.
"Are you going to be alright?"
"Yeah." Lucia said, "I got some of that Holy Water stuff Eda has. It will hurt like a bitch, but it will keep me from turning."
Lucia took the bottle out and walked to the kitchen, where King heard a withheld scream from Lucia pouring the Holy Water on her arm. Elsewhere, Belos smiled under his mask. His latest Ghouls were ready and they were going to be the one thing the Clawthorne's could never fight.
"I believe it's time for a family reunion."
