Before you start reading, I just want to say that this is probably the longest single chapter of any story I've ever written in my life. I honestly did not expect it to get this lengthy, but this chapter is about 7,000 words in total. I've been working on it a little bit every few days since November, and I spent quite a lot of effort writing it. I'm honestly proud of this myself, so let me know what you think in the reviews. Next chapter will be posted sometime in February unless I change my mind.
Chapter 18 - The Battle, Part 4 (FINALE)
Lightpelt PoV
Lightpelt blinked open his eyes.
He saw only darkness.
He groaned inwardly. Please, not another giant room with a door leading to ComputerClan's home base!
Last time he'd woken up there, he'd been abused in a very personal way. He didn't want to think of that again. Right now, he just wanted to get out of here.
But this didn't seem like a giant room like before. As his vision cleared, he noticed a dim light on the ceiling that illuminated the room just enough so that he could see his surroundings. The room was about ten feet wide, if not eight, and much less in length. As for the height, it was hard to tell.
Lightpelt found that he couldn't move. He wasn't sure why at first; he couldn't feel any pain or injuries except for the soreness inside his tail-hole from the horrible incident with ComputerClan's leader, Circuitstar. And it also didn't seem that he'd been tied up or bound to something.
But then he noticed that he was looking through a very small glass case with a few tiny holes at the top, and the room's carpet underneath. He was trapped. And it was at this moment that he realized where he was. He was in a closet. Just like in the movies, except he wasn't tied to a board with tape over his mouth, he was in a glass case just big enough for him.
There was no way out now.
Lightpelt found himself sobbing, wishing he could just kill himself instead of having to sit here until he either died of starvation or Circuitstar came back to murder him. Honestly, what could he do? This glass was clearly unbreakable, and even if it wasn't, he'd never be able to bust it with just his paw. And there was no way to lift it; he'd already tried that, and it turned out to be glued to the carpet.
Fuck! Lightpelt repeated the slur over and over in his head as he went through every imaginable plan to get out of here, none of them proving to be useful. There was literally nothing he could do. Once he considered yowling for help, but that might just attract Circuitstar's attention, or that of any other ComputerClan warrior here.
It had probably been more than an hour when, finally, something happened. Footsteps sounded outside the closet, and Lightpelt was relieved as hell, not even worried who it might be, just so intent on the idea that somebody might come to help him that he didn't even think about the fact that Circuitstar, the dirty rapist, was right outside the closet door.
The door opened, and immediately Lightpelt realized who it was. He hissed with rage, the sight of the ComputerClan leader sickening to his eyes. Desperately he hoped Circuitstar didn't plan to do anything bad with him again.
Circuitstar did not speak as he calmly padded over to Lightpelt's enclosure and grabbed something from a shelf above. Lightpelt tried to turn so he could see, but he couldn't move at all; the space was too small. After a while of quiet clanking sounds and other metal noises, Circuitstar pulled something off the shelf and brought it over to Lightpelt's cage. Lightpelt could see it now, and it looked like a... hammer?
Before he had time to wonder why Circuitstar had that, the ComputerClan leader smashed the top of his glass case open, coating Lightpelt in glass shards but also providing a way out. Wait... Did Circuitstar just free me from the cage he put me in? Lightpelt thought, confused.
But before he could ask, Circuitstar pulled something off of his head that appeared to be his face. Was that another cat underneath?
it was at this moment that Lightpelt realized who he was looking at. This wasn't Circuitstar, it was another cat dressed up as Circuitstar.
"Who...are you?" He asked as the cat removed more of his fake Circuitstar pelt. This cat was sleek, skinny, and a dull shade of gray. He had olive-green eyes and a very small nose. He also had a very nasty scar in the middle of his back that looked like he'd been shot. Somehow this cat looked familiar, but Lightpelt couldn't pinpoint the memory.
The cat didn't respond for a minute or so, kind of just sitting there and thinking about who-knows-what. But then he spoke. "You can get out of the case." His voice was deep and cool, like the leaf-fall breeze. It had a slight rumble to it.
Lightpelt wasn't sure if he could trust this cat, but it seemed he wanted to help him. The cat also had a kind of familiar smell, reminding him of RiverClan's fishy scent. But it was very faint, like he hadn't been there in moons. And he was drowned in ComputerClan scent, which just made his other scents difficult to detect.
Lightpelt slowly rose to his paws, being careful not to cut himself on any of the glass shards around him. And with one quick leap, he was out, and shook his pelt free of all the bits of glass that had fallen on him.
"Okay, I'm out now. So can you tell me who you are, please?" He pleaded.
"Sigh... I guess you'll never shut up if I don't," the cat muttered grumpily. "Okay. My name is Frondpool. I was once a RiverClan warrior, and I still have RiverClan in me. I was born there a long, long time ago, and I had just been made a warrior when Redstripe, that filthy bastard, was made deputy under Silverstar's leadership. You probably don't remember this, but you were my apprentice for a while. Anyway, Silverstar was a coward, and Redstripe was a reckless maniac, so when I literally got shot in the back by some crazed woman with a fuckin' rifle in the camp killing us off at 2 AM, I decided to leave."
Lightpelt nodded, beginning to remember this cat faintly. "I don't blame you. I was exiled for breathing at a Clan meeting. Redstripe has turned into a tyrant by now." He wasn't sure whether the fact that he knew Icetail and was kind of friends with her would upset this cat or not, so he decided to leave that part out.
"Yeah, that was a scary one. Sorry you got exiled. But the reason I'm here is because I don't want harm to come to any RiverClan warrior or ex-warrior, so I'm going to try and get you out of here. But I'm gonna need to put that costume back on, because we'll both get raped if I get caught sneaking you out," he said darkly. Lightpelt shuddered at the thought of being abused that way again, but he had to focus.
"Okay. Let's go."
Icetail PoV
Icetail stared at Bluewhisker's body in shock, watching as she collapsed to the ground. Fishfur, yes, Fishfur, had just torn her throat open and killed her. It was too horrible to believe. The thought just wouldn't stop repeating itself over and over again in her head as she stood there, mouth wide open, staring at Bluewhisker's broken body. She's dead! She's dead! She's really dead!
Icetail wanted to run. She wanted to run away as far as she could, away from the horrible scene, and away from this corrupted Fishfur that had just killed her friend.
Robinblaze was looking at Bluewhisker the same miserable way, and Poisonfang watched with an unreadable look as the two of them stared, unable to do anything. And Fishfur just sat there next to the body of the cat he'd just murdered, looking on with a new expression on his face. Was that... Regret?
There was no time to worry about that. Icetail wanted to kill that ugly little murderer bastard. He needed to DIE! Anyone who hurt or killed one of Icetail's friends would pay the price. She didn't care that he could probably kill her too, Icetail wanted either to rid the world of this horrible cat, or die trying.
She reared up to attack, getting in a position to sprint over to Fishfur. This had to end. Right now. She readied herself as much as possible, positioning herself perfectly, working up all her energy, and...
"Wait."
The voice was Fishfur's. This angered Icetail; if he was about to plead for mercy and act like this was all an accident, she'd go and kill him before you could say 'liar'.
"I've been paid to do this." Fishfur said. Suddenly Poisonfang was lifted up into the sky and flung off into the distance, landing probably miles away.
Icetail was becoming increasingly more confused. First of all, who paid Fishfur to kill Bluewhisker who couldn't do it themself? Surely not Poisonfang. He was just one of Redstripe's minions. And he had poisonous fangs, so killing someone would be easy for him. What about Redstripe? Well, Redstripe was lazy, but from the way he fought, clearly he could kill Bluewhisker easily. So who paid Fishfur to kill Bluewhisker? And second of all, where the heck did Poisonfang go?
"ComputerClan has always bargained with me. Circuitstar wants every cat with RiverClan blood dead, including Redstripe and his followers. He paid me to kill Bluewhisker. And I've just done that for him. I don't have a reason to kill either of you right now," Fishfur explained.
Icetail was beginning to understand the situation. "That's not an excuse for killing Bluewhisker," she growled, taking a threatening step forward. Robinblaze did too.
Fishfur remained calm, seeming unaffected by the two she-cats advancing on him. "Isn't it, though? A life for some cash, then my job here is done. I don't have to bother either of you until Circuitstar tells me to. It's as simple as that." He explained.
"So you just want us to run back to our camp and live in fear, knowing that someday we'll be killed by Circuitstar's hitman? We'd be living like prey! That's ridiculous!" Robinblaze snarled.
"Well, I suppose that would be your life, then. I guess it's just unfortunate that you're still RiverClan. Perhaps if you joined another Clan, or became kittypets, Circuitstar would be less interested in your death, but as long as you're living out here, you'll be in danger of being killed. That's just how this deal works," Fishfur said, still managing to keep calm after all the hostility he'd been receiving.
"So you want us to go and abandon our Clan forev- - No! Fishfur! This isn't you! Why are you being like this?! We've always known you to be kind and helpful, so you need to snap out of whatever money-obsessed thing this is. Fishfur, please!" Robinblaze begged.
But Fishfur's face did not change. "I was never nice, nor was I helpful. I simply did Circuitstar's bidding and followed you guys when I had nothing to do. Didn't you even notice how I made Lightpelt lead you guys into my trap? Redstripe and his warriors weren't originally going to attack your camp, but I led you to them to weaken your forces. Then I led you back here."
Icetail hissed. "You're a filthy traitor! A murderer! You only care about money! And for what? Video games? More territory? Drugs?"
Fishfur smiled, a creepy ass smile that neither Icetail nor Robinblaze knew he was capable of. "Correct, correct, and correct. But you forgot guns," he added with a chuckle. "In all honestly, however, I'm not a traitor, and I'm not a murderer. I was always loyal to someone, even though that someone happened to be Circuitstar. You can be loyal to someone who's out for blood, but still not be a traitor. And I'm not a murderer either. I kill, but only when asked to. Lightpelt wasn't killed when he was taken to ComputerClan's home base. I've never murdered someone out of vengeance. I just obey my leader's orders."
Icetail was had a pretty good idea of what was going on here. Fishfur was most likely a drug addict and needed money to buy drugs as well as other things he liked and figured that being a hitman would pay well. But he didn't seem like a bad cat in general, he was just obsessed with his job and felt like it was his life, and that it was the only way he could get large amounts of money. But he'd still taken Bluewhisker's life, and her death needed to be avenged.
"I guess I'll have to kill both you and Circuitstar then."
Fishfur suddenly looked scared, which was confusing. "Please don't. You can kill Circuitstar, but please don't kill me. I already explained, I'm just a hitman bound to my work by the chain of addiction. If you killed Circuitstar, you could break this chain. But if not, I'll be stuck like this forever and you may soon meet your demise. It's up to you to decide if you really care about me enough to find Circuitstar, defeat him, and free me from my uncontrollable desire to do his bidding."
"Wait... Did he... Are you...?" Robinblaze started, but Fishfur shook his head and cut her off.
"No, he isn't controlling me. I simply made the wrong decision, and now I can't stop. You'll have to save me if you want to save everyone else," Fishfur explained grimly.
Icetail wasn't convinced. This was a little bit fishy to her. How were they supposed to know that Fishfur wouldn't keep killing cats even if they killed Circuitstar? However, Fishfur looked like he was being genuinely honest. Maybe he was suffering from his own curse after all. It's certainly possible, she reminded herself. Things like this had happened before.
Then Robinblaze turned to her. "Let's help him. I have a feeling he's got a good side. Besides, killing Circuitstar and finding him still killing cats for money would be just as bad as not doing anything at all. It might even be better, because once Circuitstar is dead, ComputerClan won't be much of an issue anymore, and we might even get Lightpelt back."
Icetail agreed with Robinblaze, and she wanted to try that plan, but she couldn't stop thinking about the fact that Fishfur had killed Bluewhisker and that she'd always be dead no matter what. But she had to forget that for now. Plus, weren't there ways out of StarClan now? "Okay. But Fishfur, you're going to help us fight. This is your battle, after all. And we need to keep an eye on you."
Fishfur dropped his yellow gaze sadly. "Unfortunately, I cannot fight in this battle. There is not a single possible outcome in that situation in which I will remain alive. If I do the killing of the killer who demands killing, I myself will be killed."
Icetail's brain hurt from trying to comprehend a sentence like that, but she got the idea. "Fine, whatever. But you have to find cats to help us." She wasn't in the mood for more cryptic hitman talk right now, she just wanted to get this job done.
Fishfur nodded, and now looked more confident. "I know some cats," he said.
Lightpelt PoV
Frondpool led Lightpelt down a long hallway, with dozens of closets identical to the one he'd been trapped in. They all had the same glass case in them, but the tops of these were all open, since nobody had been trapped in them yet.
"I know this base like the back of my hand," Frondpool explained. "It used to belong to SwiftClan and RiverClan, but then ComputerClan took over and we were forced back into out forest territories. We came back to raid it, but we failed and lost a lot of warriors. Right now we're in a huge, roundish building in the sky. The only way up is to stand on a specific patch of land that's pretty hard to find, and you'll get pulled up by a net. And you found it by accident, correct?" He asked. Lightpelt nodded.
"So that wasn't Redstripe's trap?" Lightpelt asked.
"No. Redstripe hates ComputerClan. You just found the entrance by accident." Frondpool replied.
Now they rounded a corner and entered a wider corridor with a few actual rooms on the sides. At the end of this hallway were double doors that looked like they could possibly be an exit, or something leading to an exit. But as they got closer, Lightpelt could see that it was not an exit, only a large room. Looking through the small windows he could spot something that appeared to have a large, rectangle-shaped table in it, with exactly twenty-two chairs: Ten on both of the longer sides, and one on both ends of the table. It looked like one of those huge, grand dining rooms that you seee in the movies. There were also two hallways just before the dining room, one going left and the other going right.
"Which way are we going?" Lightpelt asked.
Frondpool stopped for a moment, seeming to have forgotten. Then he continued walking and said "Right."
Lightpelt was a little bit curious about the giant dining room, but he figured it was probably better not to go in there just in case the entrance was booby-trapped or ComputerClan warriors were in there. He continued following Frondpool.
He didn't recognize this hallway at all. It didn't have any access to rooms in it, and there was a weird turn where it quickly curved around something towards the middle.
"This place is exactly 1,974 meters in diameter, and 268 meters in height. It's probably the biggest base in the Clans' history. It's a real shame that ComputerClan owns it," Frondpool commented.
That's HUGE! Lightpelt thought. No wonder he didn't recognize any of this. There were probably tons of different floors in this building, and the hallways might as well be a corn maze! "Wow," he breathed.
At the end of this hallway was an elevator. It was painted bright white, a contrasting color to the walls, which were a mixture of gray and dark gray.
Frondpool pushed the 'down' button next to the elevator and waited. After a few moments the doors slid open and the two cats walked inside. On the floor, there was a white rug with the ComputerClan logo on it, and two black C's next to it.
Thirty-three buttons on the button panel showed how many floors this base had. Frondpool pushed the button that said 'Lobby'. It lit up, a pale blue color, and the elevator started moving downwards. They were on floor 20 currently, so it took a while to move all the way down to the first floor.
"Do you remember being my apprentice?" Frondpool asked randomly.
Lightpelt thought back to when he'd been an apprentice, about thirty-six moons ago. He did have a vague memory of Frondpool. He also remembered other horrible things that happened back then, like the Clan briefly disbanding, a terrible memory of starvation, and the even worse memory of his sister Spotpaw dying in a flood. "Yeah, I remember being an apprentice," he said simply.
Frondpool nodded. Just then, there was a 'ding' noise from the elevator and the doors opened, revealing the lobby area.
But something was waiting for them, and it wasn't just the lobby.
What they saw - who they saw- was Circuitstar.
"Of all cats!" Frondpool exclaimed.
Icetail PoV
"Who are these cats?" Icetail asked when Fishfur returned. "And why did it only take you five minutes to go get them?" She coated her words with suspicion.
Fishfur, still remaining calm as usual, pointed with his tail toward a striped, purple cat with part of his tail missing. "That is Halftail." He then pointed to a tan-colored tabby. "That's Fuzzy."
Icetail stopped him. "Fuzzy? That's the most ridiculous name I've ever heard!"
"I'm not sure who chose that name, but it wasn't me," Fishfur said simply. "Anyway, that silver cat is Chester, and the black cat is Flurry." He said pointing to an almost shiny silver tom with olive green eyes, and a fluffy she-cat with teal-colored eyes.
"Okay, first off, those are weird names, and second, where did you find them?" Icetail asked.
Halftail spoke, his voice deep and confident, making him sound professional. "We are old friends of Fishfur. We've known him since before he started his job as a hitman. We have moons upon moons of battle training. Please accept our offer to help."
Icetail didn't exactly trust the word of Fishfur's "old friend", but she accepted their offer anyway. Like Robinblaze said, trying to free Fishfur of his self-inflicted curse and it not helping anything would be just as bad as not doing anything at all. But what if they attack us instead? She pushed away the thought. She'd have to trust the strangers for now.
"Okay. Let's go. Best to get there as quickly as possible, in case Lightpelt's in trouble," she said. Fishfur had stated that Lightpelt wasn't harmed when he was taken up to ComputerClan's base, but she needed to find him regardless. Besides, how could Fishfur know what's happening up there?
Halftail, seeming to be the leader of the group, nodded to Icetail and Robinblaze and set off toward the entrance to ComputerClan's base. Icetail started to leave but was stopped by Fishfur. She still found it strange to be trusting the cat who had killed Bluewhisker not long ago.
"Before you go, I just wanted to say sorry for killing Bluewhisker. I want to be free of this curse, but my mind is almost always disturbed by thoughts of death and destruction... You get the point. Good luck out there, Icetail. You have my support, although it may seem that I am evil."
Before she could respond, Fishfur walked away toward his former den in the ex-warriors' camp, and left Icetail and Robinblaze and the other warriors to start their mission.
• • • • •
The entrance to ComputerClan's base was actually quite subtle, although Lightpelt had managed to find it by accident. It was a very slightly altered patch of land, just a tiny bit greener and more artificial looking than the rest of the terrain.
Apparently, you just had to stand on the patch of land for a few seconds, and then a net would come down and take you up to the base. And the base was huge, a massive spherical shape with its top and bottom bits chopped off to make it look like a big disc in the sky. It was mostly all white but had some gray and black patches. The area around the entrance was red, and so was the door. A huge ComputerClan logo was plastered on the front. Clearly they liked to boast! There was also a row of circular lights going around the middle of the disc, making it look more futuristic and sci-fi. Icetail had to admit, although it was owned by the evilest Clan in the forest, this base looked awesome.
After everyone had been carried up to the entrance platform by the net, Halftail led them inside. Immediately they were in a large room, probably twenty feet tall and stretching over eighty feet across to double doors at the end, leading to who-knows-where. It looked very grand, with a huge rug leading from the front door to those double doors at the end, and there were at least five fancy chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that provided the room's light. Along the left and right walls of the room were rows of several off-white pillars with fancy patterns on them, split in the middle by two hallways leading left and right.
And towards the right wall of the room was a smooth wooden desk, with a ComputerClan cat sitting at it. He looked a bit less hostile than the other ComputerClan warriors, although he still had an evil spark in his eye. This must be the cat that approves us to go past this room, Icetail guessed.
Halftail strode up to the black, shiny cat and held up a blank piece of paper. "Monitorslash, member of the ComputerClan secret spy organization, access code is G6O4-11-HT, and these are some new members of the Clan that have come to visit," he said. The cat at the desk seemed to understand him, and also seemed to see something on Halftail's blank card.
"Okay, you may go. But please remember the rules for new visitors," He added, warning in his voice. Halftail then signaled for their group to continue moving.
When they were out of earshot, Icetail asked "How did you do that? He was seeing something on the card."
"It's psychic paper. It makes cats see what they want to see. You've never watched Doctor Who?" Halftail explained, seeming confused that she'd never seen that show. But warriors like her didn't often watch TV. Getting one of those in a RiverClan shop would be bloody expensive!
They walked through the double doors, which led them to a corridor that split off into three different directions: left, right, and straight ahead. Halftail turned left, and the group followed. This hallway was very long and every so often there was a door to a room. it slightly curved right after a while and gave the impression that it was looping around in a large circle. That made sense. After all, this was a circular base.
Suddenly Halftail froze. So did his friends, and Icetail and Robinblaze decided to stop as well although they didn't know what this was about.
"Did you hear that?" Halftail whispered. Icetail and Robinblaze shook their heads, confused. But Chester, Flurry, and Fuzzy seemed to have heard it too.
"Yeah... It sounds like a fight's happening somewhere nearby," Flurry said.
As the group slowly edged forward, nearing a hallway leading left, Icetail started to hear the noise. It was made up of mostly high screeches and low growls, the sounds frequent. She guessed that there were probably three or four cats there.
"I'll take a look around the corner and see what's going on," Halftail said, still keeping his voice low. His purple neck fur stood on end as he cautiously moved forward, stopping when he reached the wide hallway.
"Oh, my goodness..."
Lightpelt PoV
Circuitstar seemed not to notice, or rather not care about the fact that Frondpool was wearing a costume made to look like him. He jumped right into the fight. "YOU!" the ComputerClan leader screeched, immediately leaping at Lightpelt and raking his sharp claws down his side before he had a chance to react.
Lightpelt was dazed by the sudden attack, but quickly regained focus and swiped at the massive tom. Circuitstar blocked his attack easily, but Frondpool was already behind him. The gray warrior gave him a nasty scratch on his back, causing him to growl with anger and pain. He quickly whirled around and clawed at Frondpool's costume fur, stopping when he realized that his enemy's actual fur was underneath.
Circuitstar looked like he could burst out in laughter, not angry in the slightest about it. "Well, that could've been a dirty trick, but of course you ran into me!" He sneered, ripping part of the costume off and scratching Frondpool there.
Lightpelt was not going to let Circuitstar hurt Frondpool, nor was he going to let the brutal leader cause any more trouble. He'd had enough of Circuitstar, and wanted to rid the world of his dangerous presence. Although the ComputerClan leader was much stronger than him, he believed that with Frondpool's help and with his own willpower he could finally stop the terrible cat. So while he was shredding Frondpool's pelt, Lightpelt leapt at him and dug his claws hard into his back, forcing him down to the ground. Circuitstar squirmed and growled in frustration, struggling under his enemy's weight.
Lightpelt was about to let out a yowl of triumph when suddenly, there was a massive push from under him and he was flying towards the wall. Circuitstar hadn't even used a classic battle tactic; he was just that strong.
While he was thinking about Circuitstar's ridiculous strength, Lightpelt regained his balance in a flash and hit the ground safely. Frondpool had gotten back up and was recovering from the scratches Circuitstar had given him. But Lightpelt had no time to worry about his long-ago mentor as Circuitstar was racing toward him at this moment. The randomly colored tom screeched with fury and charged at him, claws outstretched.
Lightpelt could see that he was in trouble. He was right against the wall, meaning that if he didn't act fast, he would be cornered. So he darted to the side, reaching the elevator within seconds. There was no way he was actually going to use it, however. That would take much too long, and if Circuitstar got inside, it would make for an extremely claustrophobic, dangerous fight.
Circuitstar most likely assumed Lightpelt was heading to the elevator. He raced over to stop him and was a bit confused when he ran back over to where Frondpool was. The moment of confusion was just enough to allow Lightpelt and Frondpool a chance to attack him, so the two warriors bounded over to Circuitstar. Lightpelt bit down hard on his tail, causing his enemy to yowl with pain. He could see Frondpool slashing at his face, too.
This made Circuitstar extremely angry. As he readied himself for his next attack, he snarled, "You two are worthless little shits! And YOU!" He screeched, looking at Frondpool. "I remember you! You're pretty high on my 'Most Hated' list as well!"
And then he was on top of Lightpelt, slashing wildly and randomly at him. At this point Circuitstar had lost all sense of a tactical fight, he just wanted Lightpelt and Frondpool dead.
But although Circuitstar's attacks were very inept, he hit hard. Lightpelt's back was getting shredded, and he couldn't help but let out a yowl of pain. Blood was everywhere. Thankfully Frondpool was right next to him, and quickly heaved Circuitstar off of him. Lightpelt got up and helped Frondpool drive Circuitstar into a corner, slashing and swiping to push him back farther and farther. But just then, Circuitstar's paw flew out, and Lightpelt had no time to react before it was scoring down his flank, opening a nasty wound on his side. He screeched in agony and fell to the ground, trying to get away from the fight so he could recover.
As much as he wanted to lie there until the pain went away, Lightpelt needed to return to the battle. He tried to get up, but he was injured very badly, and suddenly, he didn't think he'd be able to go on much longer. He felt dizzy, and the pain in his back and in his side was almost unbearable. He really wanted to keep fighting, but Frondpool would inevitably be on his own for the next few minutes. Lightpelt had to take time to recover, or he would die in this battle.
He'd always believed that he would help defeat ComputerClan one day. The evil Clan had been a rival to RiverClan since he was born, and Lightpelt grew up learning that they were horrible cats and that they wanted to kill every other clan in the forest. As an apprentice he was only able to sit and watch as the stronger warriors of the clan went to war with ComputerClan time and time again, each skirmish resulting in more deaths. Now RiverClan had more cats, but most of the cats Lightpelt knew were dead. Even most of the cats Lightpelt didn't know were dead. That was because of Redstripe. But he didn't want to think about RiverClan's madlad leader right now. He wanted to come back and win this fight. He wished he could just get up and deal the final blow to Circuitstar straight away.
Damn. Life kinda sucks.
Lightpelt was still conscious enough to see what was going on, and it looked like Frondpool was injured harshly. Circuitstar had just finished with him, throwing him against the wall and standing over the senior warrior triumphantly. Just then, he leaned down to whisper something in Frondpool's ear, but Lightpelt could not pick up anything he said.
It was over. Lightpelt and Frondpool had failed their mission to get out of here and failed to defeat Circuitstar when he attacked. Lightpelt knew it was ambitious to think that he could defeat the one and only ComputerClan leader with only one other warrior, but then again, they didn't have much choice. They were just trying to get out of here.
Nonetheless, they were both going to die at the paws of Circuitstar. There was no one here to save them, so the large tom would easily destroy them and end their lives. Lightpelt was slightly angry with himself, mostly just for letting this happen so fast, But also because he felt like he should've put more effort into his attacks. Frondpool probably would've been furious with him if they weren't about to die. He knew it was just because he was still tired from earlier, but Lightpelt just felt worthless and stupid, lying defeated like this.
Circuitstar had come for him first. He stared up into the massive tom's icy blue eyes, seeing nothing but malice and hatred. As he raised a paw to deal the final blow, Lightpelt was scared as hell. But he also accepted the fact that he was going to die. At least he hadn't wasted his death. He would die in a battle against Circuitstar, fighting evil. But he also felt like this was wrong. He wasn't ready yet. He needed to finish this fight...
Just as Lightpelt supposedly took his last breath on this planet, his quick prayer to StarClan was answered. Suddenly, there was a flash of fur and Circuitstar was thrown backward, the sounds of other cats filling the hallway. It was a miracle. Help had come! He couldn't believe this. Perhaps he was dead after all and he was just having some sort of dream in StarClan. But the situation was legitimate, and hope flared in his chest. Depending on how many cats were here, they might be able to defeat Circuitstar after all.
It took a whole lot of effort, but Lightpelt managed to heave himself to his paws. There was a sharp jolt of pain from his back, but it calmed down a little when he relaxed, finding that he could actually stand up pretty easily.
Circuitstar was being beaten backward by four cats he didn't recognize, hissing and spitting with rage since he knew they outmatched him. Frondpool was being helped up by two other cats, one white and one black with a reddish underbelly.
Wait.
That's Icetail and Robinblaze!
For a moment Lightpelt forgot all about his injuries and the battle. He had to be imagining this. But there was no mistaking Icetail's scar on her arm and Robinblaze's distinctive short tail. His two friends had found the ComputerClan base and come to rescue him.
"Guys! Icetail, Robinblaze, thank goodness you're here!" He cried, rushing over to them.
Robinblaze set Frondpool down as he recovered and touched noses with Lightpelt. "Hi, Lightpelt. Thank StarClan you're alive!"
Icetail did the same. "Hi. I'd love to chat for a while, but as you can see, we've got a fight to finish." Then she raced off to help the strange new warriors defeat Circuitstar.
Robinblaze started to leave too, but Lightpelt stopped her. "Hold on. Where are Bluewhisker and Fishfur? And who are these cats?" He asked. Maybe it wasn't the best time for questions, but he really wanted to know.
Robinblaze suddenly looked a little uncomfortable and seemed to be debating whether to tell him something or not. It was a few seconds before she responded. "Well, it's kind of complicated. Bluewhisker, well, uh... We'll talk about her later. Fishfur is a long story. These cats were sent with us to help." Without another word, she joined the fight and Lightpelt was left there, confused, Frondpool at his side.
There was no time to ponder over Robinblaze's words right now. "Let's go kick that computer-obsessed tyrant's ass," Frondpool said slyly.
Lightpelt forced himself to forget about it. "Alright."
Then the two of them raced over to where the fight was happening. Eight cats against Circuitstar would definitely be enough to beat him. Already the ComputerClan leader looked as if he was ready to give up, but perhaps Lightpelt was just imagining that. The four new cats seemed to actually be very skilled in fighting. They had given Circuitstar some nasty scars, drops of scarlet blood flying in all directions. The ComputerClan tom hissed and spat as he was driven back further, almost cornered now. He tried to lash out at a purple striped tom, but his attack was blocked by black she-cat who was also at the front of the group. They were obviously winning, their teamwork and numbers outmatching him.
Lightpelt was probably more thankful than he'd ever been before for these cats. If they hadn't been here at the right moment, he would be dead now. He didn't care how they got here or where they came from. They were helping save the lives of every cat in the forest, and he appreciated that greatly.
"Fuck you!" Circuitstar roared. "I'm a better leader, a better warrior than any of you could be! I'll come back from StarClan and kill you all one by one! And where's that fuckwad Redstripe? I want to rape him 'till he's bloody and screaming!"
Circuitstar had lost all sense of logic. He was so enraged at the thought of being defeated at last that he wasn't even planning his words.
"If you think you're going to StarClan, buddy, you're insane," Lightpelt said, almost laughing as he continued to help the other warriors with the attack. But something was nagging at him from inside. He observed what a beaten state Circuitstar was in, and suddenly, he knew what he had to do. This would be his last opportunity before his enemy was dealt the final blow. Best to say this now, because it was his time. "Guys, stop. He's almost dead. This is a fight I need to finish myself. You guys can go."
Suddenly Circuitstar's gaze lit up with frenzied hope. Lightpelt ignored it.
The other cats were worried, and some looked at him like he was out of his mind. "But, what if-" Robinblaze started to say, but Lightpelt cut her off. He had no time to discuss this. "No. I need to finish this alone. He abused me, so I'm going to kill him."
The other six cats said nothing more, just dipped their heads and stepped aside, forming a path to Circuitstar that Lightpelt could walk through. When he reached the ComputerClan leader, Circuitstar got up, unable to hide his many scars and the blood that was dripping from his pelt, or his weak state. His back was arched, his fur fluffed up, and he growled menacingly.
"I made you suck my dick because you're a RiverClan cat," he hissed. "RiverClan shits deserve to die."
"But why?" Lightpelt queried. "You're obviously evil for a reason. Tell me, Circuitstar, what's your story? Let's do this just like in the movies." He had him pinned down now, and Circuitstar was much too weak to lash out at him or escape.
Suddenly he seemed to take on a new sense of calm, relaxing and looking as if he was accepting defeat. His gaze was cold, but Lightpelt could tell that he knew he was about to die and had decided to stop fighting against his inevitable demise.
"Reléhfuisnichz," Circuitstar muttered. Before Lightpelt had the chance to ask what the heck that meant, Redstripe appeared right next to him, holding a backpack.
"Why the hell am I here- wait, CIRCUITST-"
"Relax, buddy," Circuitstar chuckled as if they were old friends. "I'm about to die. I just thought you might want to see it happen. Hand me that gun of yours," he said, nodding towards his backpack.
Redstripe was obviously still trying to make sense of the situation, but evil filled his eyes and he reached inside his backpack, pulling out a shiny AK-47.
"I exiled you," Redstripe commented after he had handed the gun to Circuitstar. Lightpelt realized that the RiverClan leader was looking straight at him. Lightpelt ignored the remark; he did not want to deal with this cat right now. There were more important things happening now.
"Don't do that quite yet, Circuitstar," Lightpelt warned aggressively. "You have some shit to tell me!" But the ComputerClan leader still pointed the gun to his head, and his smile said it before he said it.
"Too late, buckaroo."
Circuitstar shot himself in the face. The battle was over.
