Lunch. It's supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be where students can sit back and relax between studies. As soon as classes were over, Tara and Shu went off in search of his brothers and her best friend.
"I wonder how Charlie and Reiji's class was…" Tara mumbled to herself nervously. She hoped her class went well.
"Her class was probably fine. She's stuck with Reiji though." Shu shrugged, walking beside the smaller girl.
"At least our class wasn't too bad." Tara mused, showing off her pearly whites to the tall blond beside her. Her precious sleepy baby. Right now he looked half asleep, walking with his eyes closed not worrying that he might bump into someone. Everyone automatically jumped out of the way.
It was amazing to watch. He was one of the closest things to royalty here.
Tara felt her heart thump a little faster just staring up at his handsome face. He's so beautiful and he knows it. All of them were. But Shu was right here beside her. She practically had heart eyes every time she looked at him. Nothing could change that at the moment.
"Reiji! My skirt is coming up, let go of my arm!" Charlie's growl echoed across the hall. Many perverted boys spun around to get a look, a few of the bolder ones letting out whistles. They shut up at the glares they received from the pair.
Shu and Tara walked over to see Reiji and Charlie glaring at one another. Her hands desperately tried to pull the fabric of her skirt down. "Usa-chan!" Tara called. The blonde glanced up, waved, then went back to shoving her skirt down.
"Hey Neko-chan," she muttered, walking away from the taller male. She couldn't believe she used to have a crush on him. Screw him acting like an ass when it came to school. She was exhausted, having little to no sleep at all. And it's not like she's going to go to the nurses office when she knew exactly who was working there. No fucking way.
"Everything okay?" Tara asked quietly, worried about her best friend. She watched her friend grumble to herself. "Fine." Charlie leaned her head on Tara's shoulder, closing her eyes. "The exhaustion is just now kicking in and I really just want a nap." Tara nodded, completely understanding what was going on with her best friend.
"How about we make it through the rest of the day then we can get you your nap okay?" she asked like one might towards a toddler. The small group watched the blonde nod her head in agreement. "Lets get some lunch. I know you're hungry. You barely ate this morning."
"They have really good pudding, Charlie-chan." Kanato pointed out, coming close to the sweet smelling girl. He looped his arm through hers before pulling her in the direction of the cafeteria. "Fuck I need a Monster, " she grumbled.
Kanato, Ayato, and Laito listened to the girl and glanced at each other. "We could be more monstrous." Ayato smirked, crossing his arms over his chest, a cheshire grin made its way towards his handsome face. Charlie and Tara gave a look towards Ayato. "I mean the drink, dipshit."
Ayato glared at her, opening his mouth to say something snarky back, when Subaru shoved between them, storming towards the cafeteria. "Shut up, idiots," he growled.
Ayato's eyes flashed with anger, and he chased after his youngest sibling. As the girls entered after them with the rest of the brothers, everyone stared. Yui was waiting just inside for the girls, and her eyes lit up the tiniest bit.
"Hi," she said quietly, her voice soft and shy.
"Hi Yui, how was your class?" Charlie asked, trying to be nice even though she really didn't like her character. Charlie couldn't believe half the things this girl got herself into and just would do nothing to resolve her problems except scream and cry.
Kanato pouted, wanting the attention. "Um, class was fine," Yui answered, her ruby eyes down cast towards the table. Taking a glance at Kanato she saw glare directed at Yui, frowning Charlie poked his cheek watching his attention snap to her. Irritation danced through his lavender eyes. "How about you?"
She gave the purple haired boy a cheeky grin before answering. "Eh, Reiji snapped at me a few times for not paying 'proper' attention but gave me this awesome pen. Hell! I even found out Kou and Carla are in my class." Reiji rolled his eyes as he read through his book.
Tara's face brightened. "Ruki's in my class!" The girls were fighting back squeals as Yui looked between them, wide-eyed. Reiji narrowed his eyes, looking up at the excited pair he started to growl. "You know of them as well," Reiji stated, not really asking more like confirming with the two girls. Both Tara and Charlie nodded, fixing their clothes yet again for what happened to be the millionth time that day.
"Yep. Ruki, Kou, Yuma, and Azusa are the Mukamis," Tara answered. "Carla and Shin are the Tsukinami brothers," Charlie added with a grin, Charlie had a big crush on Carla and would make it known that she found him hot. Kanato huffed in annoyance at being ignored, unlooping his arm from Charlie's and sulking off. Charlie looked a little disappointed. She didn't mean to upset him.
Looking towards the purple haired boy, she grinned, reaching over to give him her pudding. It was cookies and cream pudding, one of the only puddings she actually liked and she knew he loved pudding. She hoped it made him feel better.
Kanato looked back at Charlie for a moment before diving into the treat happily. "Yui do you have any other skirts? I swear I'm halfway to looking like a stripper." a smirk made its way to her face as she looked at Laito "Or Laito you wouldn't happen to have an extra uniform would you?" She batted her eyelashes flirtatiously hoping to get something out of him.
"You think I have a girls uniform?" he snickered, leaning against his palm. He didn't know why this woman thought he had a girls uniform. "No, no, I want one of yours."
"You want my uniform?" Laito giggled, leaning forward a cocky smirk on his lips "What's in it for me?" Charlie leaned forward, their faces only inches apart "First actual bite. Willingly giving myself over for you wherever you want and whenever."
Just then a familiar silver haired male walked past, a disgusted look on his face. Blue locked with golden and she sent him a smile before bringing her attention back to Laito.
"Charlie!" Tara gasped, giving her a distasteful, and slightly jealous, look. Yui's eyes widened terrified, could she really be offering something so horrible for a pair of pants? Why would she do this? Does she not know the consequences?
Frowning Charlie pouted, sitting back in her seat "I need pants! This is torture having those creeps staring at my ass whenever I'm in the hall." she grumbled crossing her arms over her chest. Kanato growled hearing her express distress. Charlie, not wanting the boy beside her to be upset, reacted quickly, looping her arms around one of his and snuggling into his shoulder watching him shift from a growling child to a somewhat content being.
"Enough, I already ordered the two of you new uniforms. They will be delivered in two days." Charlie and Tara looked up at Reiji.b"Not good enough, I need pants so either hand over your credit card or you're gonna go shopping with me."
The threat of shopping was a bad one. Charlie didn't want to shop, she hated shopping for herself unless it was movies or posters, or random things. But clothes shopping was just torture, so if she had to deal with the hell of shopping then so would he. Tara chuckled, knowing just how much shopping irritated Charlie. Amazon was a godsend for the both of them.
"There is no need, one of the maids has already gone for you." Charlie and Tara looked confused. "What maids?" Tara asked unsure if she should believe him or not "You have maids?" Charlie whispered to Kanato since she was already next to his head.
In the anime and the manga, Charlie and Tara had never heard of there being maids, yet then again Karlheinz was the king of Vampires, of course there would be a few maids running around. But why hadn't they seen any? Did they live in their own area of the house or did they come during the day when everyone was sleeping?
Kanato nodded, giving Charlie a small smile that sent Charlie's heart into a puddle. It was so cute! She wondered if she'd be able to give him a small kiss on the cheek but decided it would be better for another time, after all they were in school and he'd probably lash out at her.
On the other side of the cafeteria six sets of eyes were watching the group with interest, it wasn't often that the Sakamaki boys had fresh meat clinging to them. Their perfect hearing made it easy for them to listen in on their conversations. Those two girls knew of them, and knew of what they were to an extent.
Carla's golden eyes studied his newest classmate, Charlie. She looked so lost and confused at this moment despite her hold expressions that it was almost adorable to him. He needed to see how much she knew of his brother and himself before he acted out. He couldn't have some commoner knowing his secrets ruining his family's image more than it had already been.
"How do you have maids? Wait, how did they get the right size clothes?! I'm pretty sure I'm too big for normal clothes around here." Tara muttered leaning against Charlie for support. "Tara hush. But she's right, you can't just send someone to guess our sizes." Charlie slouched forward, resting against her hand boredly.
"I mean, look at us, do we look like one of your typical Japanese females?"
"Are you done? Yours Truly is growing tired of this conversation." Both girls looked over at Ayato, surprised he had been quiet for so long. While Tara was trying to hold in a giggle Charlie could only roll her eyes looking back at her lunch. It was just a regular bento box with some fried squid, rice, and veggies. It tasted awesome!
"Alright then kitty cat, what do you want to talk about?" Charlie smirked, glancing at her best friend, she could already see the mortified look on Yui's face hearing Charlie talk so boldly to Ayato-kun. Tara threw a hand to her face to muffle her squeals.
"Watch it," he growled, narrowing his green cat-like eyes. "You two have been nothing but a nuisance since you've gotten here!"
"Awww the poor whittle kitty doesn't like us." Charlie spoke in a baby tone leaning close to the red head. "It's okay little kitty," she had this wide wicked smirk over her lips "I said watch it!" Ayato snapped standing from his seat, slamming his hands on the table.
"Enough!" Reiji snapped, glaring at his younger brother "Charlotte enough antagonizing him!" Tara let out a surprised gasp. Instinctively she reached out, latching her arms around her best friend pulling her close to her chest, struggling as Charlie tried to get out of her hold.
"I told you don't call her that!" Tara hissed, some of her chocolate brown hair being thrown around as she whipped her head to glare at the boy. Charlie kept her head down, feeling a pain spread through her skull and down to her stomach, her arms circled around her body protectively. The fear that spread through her was always unwelcome, and Tara did her best to distract the girl but it was too late. "He's not here Charlie, he can't get you," she mumbled reassuringly in her ear, rubbing her hands up and down her arms in a soothing manner.
Tara felt extremely protective over Charlie and her mental state, whenever they met new people she would do everything in her power to make sure her best friend felt safe despite her own anxieties. She spent years being unable to do anything to help save her as she continued to go back to that bastard but now that she was free and she'd be damned to let her go back to her old hollow self.
Tara brown eyes shot daggers at Reiji, her hate seeping around the table in waves. "I told you not to call her that," she hissed, a snarl on her lips. Kanato turned in his seat staring at Charlie confused, she almost looked as lifeless as one of his dolls! Reaching a hand out he placed it over her own smiling widely when she didn't pull away.
"You're okay Charlie I promise," she stated slowly. But Charlie didn't want to stay sitting down, she needed to get out of here, walk somewhere. Get some fresh air. Her hands twitched with need. She needed a smoke badly, pulling herself out of Tara's hold. She kept her eyes on the floor as she walked away mumbling that she'll be at class if she needs her.
Tara frowned standing from her seat wanting to go after her. Charlie didn't need to be alone, she was most definitely not in the correct headspace right now. "She's fine," Shu mumbled, clutching onto Tara's wrist pulling her back towards him. Normally she would be thrilled to be in Shu's arms, but she was scared and angry. His nose found its way to her hair, inhaling her sweet scent. "What's wrong with Charlie-chan?" Kanato muttered, smiling to himself in confusion.
"Who cares? She's a bitch anyway."
Tara frowned, gritting her teeth and trying to ignore the commentary from the brothers. "She's fine," Shu mumbled, bringing her body close to his own, inhaling as his arms tightened ever so slightly. It was almost addicting to him. "But she…"
"Don't bother, that Mukami idiot went after her already." Tara's eyes widened in shock. Looking around the cafeteria she found their table. Ruki, Yuma, and Azusa, but no Kou. Gulping rather loudly, Tara didn't know how to feel. She just hoped her best friend would be okay.
Charlie's POV:
Unlike in the anime or the games (Not like I'd know, I never watched a playthrough or played the games) the hallways were not entirely empty. There were students all around talking to friends, laughing, it was almost like a regular school! Only regular schools didn't have fucking vampires and first bloods running around.
Shifting my skirt down again I felt annoyed. Why'd he have to call me Charlotte? I hate that name, I hated that whenever I heard that name I'd get into this state of panic, I felt like I wasn't safe. Whenever someone said that name bad things happened.
"Sakamaki!" Someone called behind me but I didn't bother to turn around, I kept walking straight looking for my classroom so I could be early for class for once. "Sakamaki!" The same person yelled, closer this time. Frowning I walked faster, I didn't want to deal with anyone right now.
I let out a yelp feeling a hand wrap around my wrist yanking me backwards into Kou, the fucking pop star. "Didn't hear me calling you?" he grinned, showing off that smile that would make girls' hearts skip a beat.
"You don't look like one of those Sakamaki bastards though," he mumbled and pursed his lips. His hands easily enveloped my arms, locking me in place. I didn't bother struggling because one, he was a vampire and he was ten times stronger than I was. And two, I wasn't going to pass up the chance to be held by a famous person! Even if it was Kou. He was cute and this was what every girl wanted right? Or was this some spell he was putting on me, making me want to stay in his arms?
"You look more like my Neko-chan, yeah?" Squinting my eyebrows together I could only stare at him confused. What? Did he just call me a cat? My brain couldn't comprehend what he meant. "Uhh...thank you?"
No one had ever called me a cat before. Tara called me Usa-chan and I called her Neko-chan but that was mostly because the two of us were Ouran Highschool Host Club fans and Tara thought my nickname would be cute as Usa-chan.
But Kou literally just called me Neko-chan. Why would he think I remind him of a cat? I knew he liked cats but I didn't see where he got that I looked like a cat.
Kou giggled, leaning forward so that our noses were touching. At this point my face was as red as a tomato. Look I'm fine flirting with people and messing around but the fact that I had barely spoken to Kou and he was already in my personal space was sending me into a nervous mess. He was Kou Mukumi for christ sake!
Staring into his crazy vibrant blue eyes I felt my heart race in my chest. He was so handsome. I could easily see the hungry look in his eyes. "Can you show me to class? I wanted to be early." I couldn't tell if he was happy in general or if it was all an act.
"Sure we have history next," I felt myself relax some when he finally pulled away. Giving me room to breathe. "Thank you, this school is pretty big and it's easy to get lost in." I smiled trying to be polite but that bad feeling in my gut still remained.
"It's not a problem at all! I'm always here to help a pretty girl in distress." I was blushing again, I knew I was. I had to remind myself that Kou was probably always like this when it came to girls. He had to keep up this persona that he was the most charming person in the world. "So Neko-chan," glancing over at the blonde popstar I caught him smiling at his fans, some of the girls in the halls were glaring at me like I just stole their precious family heirloom.
"How do you like living with them?"
Was he trying to dig up dirt? Or was he trying to be civil, trying to give me a false sense of security before he attacks.
"Well...it is fun to mess with Ayato." Kou laughed, squeezing my hand a little tighter than before "Tara has this small crush on him." Kou had no idea who I was talking about but he nodded none the same. "But it'll be better when I get a proper uniform."
Snickering at her words, Kou looked down at me. "Who's are you wearing now?"
His blue eyes ranked over my form making me feel uneasy, maybe I should have just looked for class on my own. Reaching up I placed my hand on the back of my neck rubbing my tattoo to calm myself down. "Yui's, she's so skinny and…"
He cut me off with a sadistic smirk on his lips "You are bigger than Yui, no doubt about that." I felt my left eye twitch, I didn't know if I should feel offended or not. Yes. I was not overly skinny, I am an American woman, I'm obviously going to be heavier than the typical Japanese school girl. I have love handles and I have chub on my stomach, that didn't mean anything.
Could I be skinnier? Obviously, but with him calling me fat it's making me think I need to go back to the days where I was too scared to go in the kitchen and eat. Go back to the days where I ate maybe once a day.
Kou, seeing I was upset, instantly threw his hands up, feigning the nervous look as he spoke next. "No, no! I don't think you're fat fat! I think you're a sexy fat you know?" I didn't know how to react, so I just looked in my notebook and started to study my recent notes.
From my peripheral vision I saw Kou freaking out sort of, his hands clenched to fists as he paced in front of my desk "Eh, Neko-chan don't ignore me!" he whined squatting down so that he was able to see my face "I like you more than her. She isn't able to hold a proper conversation like you do and she has no personality."
Forcing a smile "It's okay Kou-kun you don't need to explain yourself," Students started to roll in one after another, Kou had this adorable pout on his lips as he knew his alone time was over with. I don't know if he was trying to get information out of me or not but I don't think it worked. Reiji walked in and gracefully took his seat. "I apologize for upsetting you Charlie."
Turning in my seat I could only stare in surprise. He apologized for calling me Charlotte? "It's cool…just don't call me that again."
Looking back towards the front I could see the faint red tint in Kou's right eye. So it was true, he could tell if someone was lying or not.
When everyone was back in class Kou returned to his seat beside me, our sensei walked in and got to work on talking about Japanese History. It was honestly incredible to learn since I never had the chance to learn this back home. World history I learned maybe a little and most of what we learned in school was dedicated to American history.
I loved history, I loved learning about the world and what happened to get us to this point in time. While our teacher spoke like he didn't care, I was hooked. I took my notes and got ready for this upcoming project we were supposed to do.
I figured since it would be a two person project I could work with Reiji but I was wrong. Our Sensei would draw names and pick out who would work with who. That bad feeling grew in my stomach once again. Who would be my partner? I hoped it would be Reiji so I didn't have to worry.
We would find out who our partners would be tomorrow.
My heart was hammering in my chest as I wrote in my journal. What would happen if Reiji wasn't my partner? Could something bad happen? I don't know what to do with this. I hated when teachers did this. God I need a smoke so badly at this point.
I haven't smoked in months, finally getting my addiction under control after living with Tara. But moments like these my anxiety comes flooding back through me and I needed some relief. Something to take the edge off.
Flicking the page of my journal I hissed in pain, yanking my hand away from the paper and staring at my hand annoyed. "Mother fucker." I mumbled watching blood start to pool from my finger. I felt the hungry stare of two, maybe all three supernatural beings.
Panicking I quickly placed my finger in my mouth running my tongue over the wound hoping to stop the blood. Glancing beside me I saw Kou, the look he was giving me made me feel like I just made a big mistake.
Looking back at my paper I took a deep breath through my nose and forced myself to ignore everything around me.
Tara's POV:
After Charlie left I felt terrible, my best friend was alone with Kou Mukumi. Yes, I knew she loved Kou but that didn't mean she trusted him. Carlie barely trusted anyone anymore. Shu had this extremely tight grip around my waist keeping me locked in place, forcing me to stay with him. Normally I would be freaking out, overjoyed that Shu was holding me so tightly but right now I was worried.
"Why do you even hang out with her?" Ayato huffed, pushing rice around his tray, not even bothering to eat. "She's my best friend." Tara defended glaring half-heartedly at Ayato. "Besides she has her reasons to hate beings called Charlotte, just like you have your reasons for how you feel towards your mother."
Ayato growled at being compared to Charlie but I didn't care. I looked towards Reiji and shook my head "It's not my place to tell but calling her Charlotte is a bad idea. Please think of her feelings before you do that."
Kanato kept his eyes on the door. I don't know why he was smiling like he was, but I hope it was because he really liked Charlie and not because he had some sick ideas. "So Neko-chan," Laito exclaimed grinning deviously "Do you need my clothes?"
I felt my face flush a bright red up, while I was okay wearing Yui's clothes until my uniform got here I could already imagine having Laito bite me.
I loved Laito so much back home, he was a precious baby, and I found him to be extremely entertaining. While he wasn't a sleepy baby like Shu was, Laito was still incredibly hilarious and perverted and honestly just perfect for my love of him.
I knew it was only a matter of time before I get bit, but from who I have no idea. If I'm being honest I hope it's Shu, but I wouldn't mind being bit by Laito, or Ayato for that matter. Ayato, while he could be mean, I knew he had his reasons to be. Everyone had their reasons to be mean, and I'm hoping I can help them understand that they are worthy of being loved.
"Erm…" Bringing a hand to my lips I coughed averting my eyes "No, I um. I'm fine waiting for my uniform…"
"Shame...I would love," my heart started to flutter in my chest hearing his voice dip that low "to work out a deal with you."
I couldn't help my nervous laugh that escaped my lips. I can't believe that Laito was talking to me like this, if you had told me that I would meet Laito Sakamaki a week ago and he'd be flirting with ME of all people. I'd call you a liar. I'd laugh in your face and call you crazy but here we are.
The bell rang and it was time for class. "See you later Neko-chan." Laito grinned walking off with Ayato and Kanato as well as Yui. Subaru was already gone. I hadn't even noticed him getting up and leaving. Reiji closed his book and easily walked through the halls back to class leaving just Shu and I alone.
Looking over at Shu he had this tiny smirk on his face, I wished I knew what he was thinking. That way I'd know not to be an idiot when it happened. "What class do we have now?"
"Music," Shu's smirk turned into a small smile that was almost barely visible. Standing from the table I let him lead the way towards our next class. There was almost a bounce in Shu's step as we walked to class. I honestly couldn't believe how cute this boy was.
I bit my bottom lip worried I'd mess something up now. I didn't know how to play an instrument, the most I could play was the recorder and that wasn't even good. Walking inside almost everyone was messing around with some sort of instrument, my worry grew into a fear knowing I'm going to embarrass myself in front of everyone.
"Whats everyone doing?" I mumbled following Shu towards the piano like a lost puppy dog. I did not want to be alone. "Music."
Staring up at my sleepy baby I masked my face to something neutral and spoke as disinterestedly. "Wow. I had no idea. The fact that people are doing music. In music class is such a surprise." I rolled my chocolate eyes annoyed. I could already tell everyone was doing music class but he practically deserved that sarcastic response.
I watched Shu sit at the piano bench, it was one of the only times I could tower over him. "Sarcastic much?" Shrugging my shoulders I didn't have a response. "Every now and then, we have a free period. We're allowed to relax and do whatever as long as we're doing something music related."
Shu played random notes on the piano that sounded like it could be from a melody or something soft and relaxing. Hesitantly, I sat down beside Shu staring down at the piano keys, did he mind that I was sitting with him? Did he think I was going to bother him? I hope I wasn't. I would love to hear Shu play a song on the piano.
"Tara," I felt my joints stiffen. My mouth watered hearing the familiar deep voice of Ruki Mukami. He knew my name! He knows who I am! My head shoots to my right staring up at his handsome face. "Is there an instrument you would like me to get for you?"
My palms were sweaty, I felt so nervous I was scared to speak. Shaking my head no I averted my eyes down to the floor brushing my hair out of my eyes "Nuh, no thank y-you." I whimpered slightly at the sound of my voice. I could feel Shu beside me, he was as stiff as a board.
"I um, I don't," I mumbled, trying to keep my voice down to not embarrass myself anymore than I already was. "I can't pl-play any instr-instraments." I hated my stuttering. Why, why was I like this?
"Oh? Would you like me to teach you?" Ruki didn't seem to mind at all that I was stuttering or sweating up a storm. My face felt so hot right now, almost like it was about to burst into flames. Ruki wanted to teach me, ME! How to use an instrument!
My heart was about to burst out of my chest at this point I just knew it.
The piano sprang with sharp key notes, surprising everyone in the class, shooting to look towards Shu. I could see the murderous look in his vibrant blue eyes. Everyone in the room was surprised. Shu was usually this soft spoken, easy going, laid back student who didn't care to step up and disturb the class. Some of the girls in my class were looking at Shu, worried. I was too. What had caused him to react so badly? Tracing his stare back to Ruki I saw that Ruki was smirking almost triumphantly. Right away it clicked in my head, Shu was jealous.
I felt my heart skip a beat, could Shu be jealous over me? Was that even possible? I had only known Shu for twenty four hours. Was it possible that Shu could have feelings towards me? No...that can't be true. He might feel threatened or possibly think that Ruki might try to claim something he wants; like a child wanting his toy back.
Looking back down at my lap my hands started to mess with the fabric of my skirt. I didn't want Shu to think I'd leave him for Ruki, but I also didn't want Ruki to think I didn't like him! Reaching a hesitant hand over, my hand landed over his own. Giving him a gentle smile I hoped that it was enough for him to realize that I wasn't leaving anytime soon.
"Muh-Maybe next tim-time," I spoke slowly, glancing up at Ruki. He wasn't pleased but he nodded his head "Of course, I'll see you around Tara," the most pleasant shiver ran down my spine hearing him say my name. It had to be the sexiest thing in the world.
I felt his hand yank away from my touch, I tried not to take it personally but it still stung. Shu was still mad but it was better than before I suppose. I could still see the anger in his eyes as he looked at me. "Do-do you want to um, play?"
His eyes glued to the keys I watched his long fingers glide across the keys, it was a soft melody that could put me to sleep if I sunk too deep into the music. My heart still ached knowing he was upset with me but the best thing I could do is just ignore it until I was alone or alone with Charlie.
Class went by so fast I hadn't even realized that when Shu was done everyone was filing out to their next class. "We don't have any other classes today. You can do whatever." Shu's quiet monotone voice vibrated through my chest.
Wait! He was leaving me?! I didn't know my way around this school! What did he expect me to do? Just sit here and wait for the end of the day? If I had my phone that would be fine but I don't have my phone and I don't have anyone to spend time with!
I frowned, slouching my shoulders forward watching him leave me all alone in this classroom. Tears started to well in my eyes having been abandoned in this school. I don't normally talk to new people or wander around area's I'm not familiar with. It's not like I'm going to walk up to some stranger and try to initiate a conversation.
Taking some deep breaths I didn't want to cry, not now anyway. I was fine. I'm fine. I am fine, it's okay that Shu basically abandoned me in the music room and left me to fend for myself...oh who am I kidding?! I'm not okay! My bottom lip quivered and I was almost at my breaking point. I couldn't hold back my tears much longer. Taking another shaky breath I could hear how terrible my voice sounded. "Hiya Neko-chan!"
A loud audible gasp escaped my lips as I stare at the familiar fedora wearing red head. Laito! What was he doing here? Didnt he have class? "What are you doing here all alone?" He easily strolled into my room joining me beside the piano.
Straightening my back I blink back my tears. I couldn't let him see me cry. "Hi-hi Laito," I could only cringe at how terrible my voice sounded, my vocal cords sounded scratchy, I sounded terrible. He instantly knew that something was wrong.
I was thankful he didn't ask why I was like this. "Shu uh, Shu left me here for free period." I mumble looking back at the key, playing random notes to fill the silence. Laito shrugged, reaching out to play his own few keys, piano wasn't his favorite instrument to play but every Sakamaki knew how to play. It was forced upon everyone while they were growing up.
"His loss," I felt my face flush watching him play "Don't you have class?" Laito smirked looking at me, never once stopping his music. "I figured I could skip." I was worried he might get in trouble with Karlheinz for missing his classes, I didn't want him to get in trouble because of me.
Looking back at the keys Laito smirked. "So what happened?" Laito pushed himself into my personal space till we were leaning so far over I might fall off the bench. Letting out a laugh at his actions I push on his shoulder trying to get some distance. "Well I'm not sure, we were in class and Ruki showed up and then...I guess he got jealous or something. I don't know… I don't know if I messed up or not but he just left me here."
Laito stopped his playing to look at me "They aren't exactly our favorites to be around. No matter, you're mine," my face erupted in flames at his words. Leaning closer I felt his tongue glide over my neck. "Right Neko-chan?"
I couldn't form words, did he want to bite me? Now? In the middle of the music room? Gulping rather loudly I looked into his beautiful green eyes, my lips parted wanting to speak but no words would form. "I should mark you...mark my territory. What do you think, eh Neko-chan?"
A small eep escaped my lips hearing him say these things. "You-you're hung-hungry?" god this stutter was going to be the death of me. "Mhm,"
My hands instantly reached up almost smacking him in the face as I fumbled to push my hair aside "He-here! I don't, I don't mind."
Laito's grin grew. I felt him shift my torso to a better position for him, his warm breath sent pleasant shivers down my spine. This is happening, I'm getting bit by Laito! A nervous smile made its way to my lips as I extended my neck further aside hoping I was giving him better access. At first I felt this tickling sensation where his lips were, then I felt the painful prick of his fangs.
Biting my bottom lip I let out a painful grunt clenching my fists. It was painful, the bite was sort of what I was expecting and not at all. I could feel my blood leaving my body, his warm tongue gliding over my neck sent shivers down my spine again. It was weird. The pain had subsided though it was still there, yet there was this wonderful sensation pooling in my stomach.
My head was starting to feel fuzzy as Laito's hands glided up my legs, up to my stomach and resting on my hips, pulling my body closer. I didn't know how long he had been drinking my blood but when he pulled away I felt dizzy. "You taste incredible Neko-chan," he grinned. Some of my blood dripped down his lips.
"Th-thanks," I mumbled, reaching up to hold my neck, my warm blood dribbled between my fingers staining Yui's uniform. I felt a little bad but not really. Laito's tongue darted across my neck, lapping up the fresh blood.
I was so embarrassed I just let him. My face was probably as red as a tomato or something. I lost track of time, but I didn't care. We could have been in here for hours or minutes and I'd still say this was the best afternoon ever!
I felt Laito lift me up as if I weighed nothing! My head resting against his neck as we walked through the halls, me on his back. I would be embarrassed but at this point I didn't even care anymore.
Going Home:
It was the end of the day and Laito was still carrying Tara on his back, he honestly didn't mind after she had so graciously given him her blood. Tara had been blushing at all their gawking peers. Her head felt heavy but it was getting better.
They had nothing to do but wait for the others, Laito entertained himself by running his fingers up and down Tara's legs and humming some tune. Tara's blush worsened having someone touch her like this. Men didn't usually give her the time of day, the butterflies in her stomach were starting to explore through her chest.
Tara was happy to see Charlie walking out now with Reiji not far behind with Shu in tow. Charlie seemed to be talking to herself but Shu would nod his head every so often. "I mean Panic at the Disco is great, don't get me wrong but have you heard anything from Motionless in White?"
"No."
"What about Bring Me The Horizon?"
"No,"
"I Prevail?"
"No."
"New Medicine?"
"Enough please, are you talking about music or your life?" Reiji growled fixing his glasses for the seventh time this morning.
Charlie could only roll her eyes at Reiji. "I'll hook you up, make you a playlist or something." Shu nodded his head, his eyes traveled over towards his brother holding Tara on his back. He had this smug smirk on his lips, Shu's face remained neutral but his eyes showed his real emotions. Jealousy green danced in his baby blues.
"Laito." Reiji scolded glaring down at the two of them. "In the middle of school no less, have you no decency." Charlie looked back and forth between Tara, Laito, and Reiji. It took a few seconds for everything to click into place. But when she did she had this shit eating grin on her face "Tara," Charlie snickered leaning forward forcing Tara to bury herself deeper into Laito's neck. "Oh you're telling me everything."
"Please refrain from such activities while on school premises." Reiji grumbled using a firm grip to hold Charlie in place beside him. "But Reiji, she was offering." he giggled, leaning his head back to rest on her shoulder.
"Regardless, keep such activities in the privacy of your own room." Charlie giggled "Or not, I need more material to bother you." Tara let out a loud groan of annoyance "Charlie!"
"Yes, that's my name." Laito and Charlie giggled at Tara's embarrassment. "Charlie-chan!" Kanato grinned, rushing to Charlie's side "Are you feeling better?"
"Who cares," Ayato grumbled "Yours truly still wishes to have your head on a pike." Shrugging her shoulders Charlie didn't care it wasn't the first time her life had been threatened, or the first time it had been in real danger.
"As long as I go out in a bang do what you want." Yui's eyes widened, unsure what to say or do. She had never heard anything like this before. Why would she act so calmly in the face of death? "Cool there's the limo. Laito gimmie my Neko-chan back, did you give her any water? Gatorade?"
"I got her a cookie," Charlie made a face but nodded. "It's better than nothing," Ayato rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "We know what to do. This isn't the first time we've taken blood from a human."
Charlie held in her growl and refused to look up from Tara's sleepy form "We have snacks in the Limo Charlie-chan," Kanato smiled holding Teddy closer to his chest. The brothers and Yui watched as Charlie strapped Tara in the car. "I'm okay really…"
"Tara," Charlie spoke in a warning tone that Tara knew all too well. It was Charlie's nurse voice meaning she wouldn't stop until she was satisfied. Tara grumbled letting Charlie take care of her even as the others climbed inside the vehicle.
The ride home wasn't bad, it was quiet. Tara sipped at her juice feeling herself getting better, she was very tired but knew if she went to sleep now she'd fuck up her sleep schedule completely.
As soon as they got home, one by one everyone stepped out of the vehicle, the girls could tell that something was amiss. The boys instantly knew what was going on but Tara, Charlie, and Yui were all standing confused. What awaited them on the other side of the door?
Reiji took the lead walking in head held high, then Shu, then Ayato. Subaru and Kanato stood on either side of Charlie, while Laito held a protective arm around Tara's shoulder. Yui gulped her knees shaking with fright the closer they got to the house.
Sitting in the living room was a handsome man. He sat propper but in a relaxed position. His clothes reminded the girls of what a prince or something of royal blood would wear. His long white hair was pulled back in a low ponytail not helping at all in keeping his hair from his face. His eyes were a bright golden color reminding Charlie of Carla right away.
Kanato clutched tightly on Charlie's hand nervously. That one word Reiji spoke, made all three girls stiff as a board.
"Father."
