Chapter 12: Just The Two of Us

Enterprise rolled over in her sleep, her body expecting to continue to the edge of the bed. Instead, Enterprise rolled off onto the floor with a loud thud, causing the carrier to suddenly wake up. Looking around the room, she figured that she was in the living room. Looking to her left, she saw the couch she had apparently fallen off of, and a large dark mark of her drool down the side.

Belfast entered the room in a hurry, not even in her maid uniform, but a silky white nightgown. "Lady Enterprise, are you alright?" She rushed over, wrapping her arms around the carrier. Enterprise blushed as she got a face full of Belfast's breasts. Belfast held on, hugging the carrier till she could nearly pass out from asphyxiation. Belfast looked into Enterprise's cool purple eyes.

"Does anything hurt?" Belfast whispered. Enterprise shook her head. Belfast sighed with relief, before giving Enterprise a kiss on the forehead. "Just to make sure you feel safe now," She whispered once more, before standing up with a hand down for Enterprise to hold onto. Enterprise reached out, and finally stood up with the help from Belfast.

Following Belfast into the kitchen, Enterprise sat down at the small wooden table in the center of the room. "When did I fall asleep last night?" she asked as she rubbed her eyes.

"About 10?" Belfast softly giggled. "If only you had fallen asleep in my lap," she teased. Enterprise sat up, blushing.

Belfast opened the fridge, having to use a canned pack of biscuits instead of the homemade ones that she would have done back at base. Slicing open the can with a knife, Belfast put the cold biscuit cakes onto a metal pan. Enterprise shifted her eyes away from Belfast as the maid bent down to put the pan inside the oven, not wanting to see something she shouldn't. Belfast looked behind her, a sly smile pointed at Enterprise as she shut the oven door.

Enterprise looked out at the shimmering water, leaves slowly floating in the darkness. The peaceful sound of the wind brushing through the trees, and the soft sound of birds chirping in the distance. It was a large difference in pace compared to what she was used to, the clattering and constant chatting of over boats around the base, as well as the sounds of gunfire and airplanes while in the battles of her past.

A wooden creak sounded behind her, causing her view to shift over to Belfast walking out towards her. Brushing off the other half of the wooden bench that Enterprise was sitting on, Belfast sat down next to the carrier.

"It's beautiful out here today, isn't it Lady Enterprise?" Enterprise nodded, spacing out as she stared towards the floor. "Is there something wrong?"

"No. Not really." Enterprise shook her head violently. "Do you need me for something?"

"I just thought we could talk. Since this entire trip was done to help calm you down." Enterprise sighed, not really sure what to say or do now.

"Then what am I supposed to now? Just sit here until I somehow get better?" Enterprise asked with a tingle of hostility.

"That's not what I meant. But I think I know just what you need to start with."

Enterprise buried herself under her blanket from earlier that morning, expecting herself to sleep on the couch again. Belfast came into the room with the a new nightgown, this time with a slight purple tinge to the ends.

"You're not sleeping there tonight," Belfast spoke calmly. Enterprise looked at her both with a look of surprise and innate annoyance.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You know what I mean. So get up." Belfast walked over to the side of the couch, picking up the blanket from Enterprise.

"Why are you suddenly like this?"

"Because I need to force you to get onto the right track!" Belfast was starting to tear up as she tugged on Enterprise's arm, trying to her to stand up. Enterprise sat up, letting Belfast have her way. Belfast backed off slightly, giving room for Enterprise to get to her feet before dragging the carrier upstairs. The ornate bookshelf in the middle of the hallway was jarring, but Enterprise still hadn't gotten used to the house. Belfast lead her into the master bedroom, already removed of any dust or other signs of age. Enterprise stopped, her face turning a slight pink as she realized what Belfast wanted her to do.

Belfast continued to tug slightly on Enterprise's shirt, trying to get the carrier to at least sit on the bed. An awkward moment passed between the two, realizing how childish they must look right now. Giving into Belfast's desires, Enterprise walked over to the opposite side of the bed and sat down. Belfast sat down next to her, fidgeting with her fingers slightly.

Enterprise looked over, watching the maid twitch with embarrassment. Belfast finally sighed, accepting what was happening. She slid down under the sheets, before reaching out for the light on her nightstand. Turning the light off, Belfast pitched the room into darkness, only being illuminated by the faint white entering through the window. Belfast shut her eyes, trying to fall asleep as best she could.

The sound of rustling sheets could be heard behind her, and it started to sound like Enterprise had followed her. Suddenly something warm began to wrap around her stomach, snaking it's way until it nearly touched ends. Belfast looked down at her figure, realizing that it was Enterprise's arms. The poor carrier was shivering against her back, trying to hold onto Belfast as a grounding mechanism to stop her nightmares. Closing her eyes once more, Belfast developed a small smile, happy that Enterprise was moving forward.
