Ch 5 Stopping the Insanity

Zira raised her paw to kill Tojo. But before she could Vumbi jumped in front of her. "Zira no!" the dusty brown lioness cried out. "I won't let you kill him!"

"Get the Hell out of my way Vumbi!" Zira snarled. "Or so help I'll kill you too!"

"Zira he's your brother!" Vumbi tried again. "More importantly he's your little brother. You always told me how you protected him all his life. Are you really going to hurt him now?" Zira stared at Vumbi for a minute. Then she looked down at Tojo, who was staring up at her with wide blue eyes.

"I would never betray you Zira," Tojo said as he rolled over and pushed Zira off of him.

"Its true Zira," Mwanga chimed in. "Simba offered to let Tojo stay in the Pride Lands but he refused."

"Well that was really stupid," Zira said, glaring at her brother once again. "We could have had you spy on Simba in his own Kingdom. But you stupidly told him you were on my side instead of lying to him!"

"You know what Zira I'm not even going to talk to you when you're like this," Tojo hissed. "I'm going to bed. Maybe tomorrow you'll have your head out of your ass and realize that everything I'm doing is because I love you." With that the pale coated lion turned and went to his spot and layed down.

"Idiot," Zira muttered as she headed for the log where her children were sleeping. Letting out a furious growl Zira shoved Nuka out of the cave, causing him to yelp in both pain and surprise.

"What's going on?" the brown coated young lion muttered.

"You're sleeping out here!" Zira growled, shoving Nuka the rest of the way out of the log.

"But Mother," Nuka began.

"C'mon buddy you can sleep by me," Tojo said, walking over to his nephew and helping him walk. With that the two lions layed down and tried to get some sleep.

A week past and things were going slightly better in the Pride Lands. Simba was adjusting to becoming a father and he was really looking forward to it. On this particular day Simba was up with the sun as usual and when he was done watching the sunrise he saw the lionesses getting ready for the hunt. But to his surprise Simba saw Nala going with them. "Where do you think you're going?" Simba demanded, stepping in front of Nala

"Good morning," Nala said with a smile. "I was going on the hunt. But don't worry I..."

"Like Hell you are," Simba said, a little edge to his voice. "You're pregnant Nala. There's no way that you're going on the hunt. You could get hurt and lose the cub."

"Simba calm down," Nala said with a slight laugh. "If you had let me finish I was going to say that I was going to watch the hunt not participate in it. Tama is doing this too. Its what all the pregnant lionesses do."

"Oh well that's different," Simba said, feeling embarrassed that he had overreacted. "I'm sorry Nala. I should have known you wouldn't risk losing the cub."

"Its alright Simba," Nala said, giving Simba a nuzzle. "I'll see you later ok?"

"Alright," Simba said with a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too," Nala said as she joined the other lionesses for the hunt. As Simba watched his mate leave he let out a worried sigh. Just then Malkia approached Simba with a smile.

"Hey buddy," the dark brown lion said with a smile.

"Hey Mal'," Simba said softly.

"You ok?" Malkia asked, the concern clear in his voice.

"Yeah," Simba said with a sigh. "I'm fine."

"You sure buddy?" Malika asked.

"Yeah I'm sure," Simba said with a smile. "I've got rounds to make."

"Want some company?' Malkia asked. "I get pretty bored around here when Tama and the other lionesses are gone."

"Sure," Simba said, still smiling at his friend. "I could use the company." With that the two males began to head out. But before they could Zazu came swooping in, looking a little frazzled.

"Oh Sire thank goodness!" the hornbill cried out, perching in front of Simba. "I've just received the most distressing news!"

"What is it Zazu?" Simba asked, giving the hornbill his full attention.

"I'm afraid Shenzi and her hyenas are back," Zazu informed the King. "And they're causing quite the ruckus near Big Springs."

"I'm on it!" Simba declared, taking off towards Big Springs.

"Wait Simba I'm coming with you!" Malkia cried out, running after his friend.

Meanwhile back in Big Springs Shenzi and her hyenas were indeed causing trouble per the instructions of Zira. "Fisi!" Shenzi called out. "Kill the hippo brat! We've got Basi!" Basi had become leader of the hippos when his mother, Kibo had fallen ill and passed away suddenly. Basi and his mate Bapole had recently welcomed their new, Beshte into the world a couple of days ago.

"Touch my son and you're all dead!" Basi thundered, ramming into Fisi and Ed, who were coming over to kill Beshte. The two hyenas went flying in the air and they crashed into Shenzi causing all three of them to crash into the ground.

"Get the Hell off of me idiots!" Shenzi snarled, throwing her brother and his mate off of her. Shenzi quickly stood and raced towards Basi, who was checking on Bapole and Beshte and had his back towards her.

"Basi look out!" Bapole cried out when she saw Shenzi charge towards her mate. But her cry was too late and Shenzi sank her teeth into Basi's back leg, causing him to fall and cry out in pain. "Basi!" Bapole cried out, pulling her newborn towards her as she helplessly watched her mate get attacked by Shenzi. But her worries were for not because the rest of their Pod had heard the commotion and had come to their leader's aid.

"Oh so you've got friends eh?" Shenzi hissed. "Well so do I!" With that the Alpha Female let out a roar and the rest of her Clan came out from the shadows. But Basi's Pod wasn't about to back down without a fight and they got into fighting stances.

"We fight 'til the death!" Basi shouted as he was helped to his feet by one of hippos from his Pod.

"And we'll make sure its as painful as possible," Shenzi growled, glaring at the hippo leader. "Get them!" With that the Clan began to charge towards the hippo Pod all of them determined to fight to the death. But just then a thunderous roar echoed through the air.

"Stop right there!" a voice thundered. Shenzi looked over and her black eyes got wide when she saw who was standing there.

"Shenzi what the Hell do you think you're doing?!" Simba thundered as he leapt on Shenzi and pinned her to the ground.

"Whoa there Simba just clam down!" Shenzi cried out, trying not to show her fear. Malika had pinned Fisi and Ed to the ground while the hippo Pod had surrounded the rest of Shenzi's hyenas.

"You filth have been banished from the Pride Lands!" Simba snarled, his teeth bared as he put his face inches from Shenzi's. "And now not only have you trespassed in my lands but you have the nerve to attack my allies in the process! The punishment for that is death!" Shenzi gulped in fear as Simba raised his paw to kill her. But to his surprise he was tackled by a grey blur.

"You leave Ma alone damn you!" a male voice snarled. Simba looked up and saw a hyena that wasn't fully grown yet standing in front of him along with two other hyenas that were the same size.

"Janja!" Shenzi cried out, shocked to see her son standing there. "What the Hell are you Cheezi and Chungu doin' here?!"

"Savin' you Ma!" Janja cried out. "Run! We've got 'im!" With that Janja hit Simba hard in his face while Cheezi and Chungu did the same with Malika. This surprised the lions and gave the hyenas time to run.

"Until next time Simba!" Shenzi cried out as she and her Clan disappeared into the Outlands, leaving a stunned Simba behind.
