Ch 6 Shocking Discoveries

"Simba are you alright?" Malika asked, helping his friend to his feet.

"No Malika I'm not alright!" Simba cried out. "I am pissed off right now! Damn that Shenzi! She and her Clan are going to pay for this!"

"I thank you King Simba for your help," Basi said, coming over to Simba with the help of Bapole. "If it wasn't for you and your friend those hyenas surly would have killed my entire Pod."

"I'm just sorry they got away Basi," Simba said with a grunt. "But I'm really glad you and your family and pod are not to badly injured."

"I've had worse," Basi said with a slight smile. "But the most important thing is that my son is alright and safe from those monsters." Basi smiled down at his sleeping two day old son when he said this part.

"Yes I must agree that is the most important part," Simba said as he also smiled down at the sleeping calf.

"I heard about your little one one the way," Basi said. "Congratulations to you and Queen Nala Your Majesty."

"Please call me Simba," Simba said with a smile. "I remember how kind you and your mother were to me when I was a cub. You are the reason my uncle was stopped and outed as the murderer he truly was. I can never thank you enough for that."

"I'm just glad everything worked out," Basi said with a smile. "And that your horrible uncle is dead."

"But his mate isn't," Simba said. "And she's back along with her son and brother."

"Well we'll certainly keep an eye out for any trouble," Basi said, looking at the rest of his Pod who nodded in agreement.

"Thank you Basi," Simba said with another smile. "I'd appreciate it."

"That's what friends and allies do Simba," Basi said with a smile of his own.

"Simba we'd better be getting back," Malkia said. "The sun is getting high and the lionesses will be back soon. I don't want Tama worrying about me."

"Yes I don't want Nala worrying about me either," Simba said. "She's got enough to worry about with the cub coming any time now." With that the two lions bid Basi and his Pod goodbye and headed back to Pride Rock.

Meanwhile Shenzi and her Clan had returned to the Outlands and they were met by an unhappy looking Zira. "Well?" the tan coated lioness said. "Is it done?"

"No it ain't done Zira," Shenzi said with irritance. "Simba and his friend came and ruined everything."

"Unless idiots!' Zira snarled. "Must I do everything?!"

"Yeah I'd like to see you take down Simba and Malkia by yourself," Shenzi scoffed, rolling her black eyes. "Cause we both know how that would end."

"Shut up Shenzi!" Zira snarled, glaring at the Alpha Female.

"You don't scare me Zira!" Shenzi growled back. "So back the Hell off!"

"How dare you!" Zira snarled, her red eyes filled with rage.

"No how dare you!" Shenzi snarled back, glaring back at Zira. "This is my turf bitch! Not yours! So unless you wanna be rip apart by my Clan then you better start showin' me some respect!"

"Zira maybe you should listen to her," Tojo whispered in his sister's ear. "Her Clan can rip us both to shred." Zira growled at her brother but backed off as she knew that he was right.

"I'll be in touch Shenzi," Zira growled as she turned and walked away with Tojo right behind her.

"Whatever Zira," Shenzi said, rolling her black eyes. "Bitch," she muttered. Once Zira was gone Janja approached his mother.

"Ma?" the young hyena said.

"What Janja?" Shenzi snapped, whipping her head around to face her son.

"How come you're workin' with Zira if you hate her so much?" Janja asked.

"Cause I can't take down Simba without her," Shenzi replied. "So as much as I hate her I've gotta suck it up. But once Simba is dead then I'll dispose of her. Then we hyenas can be in charge of the Pride Lands like we should have been years ago." Without waiting for a response Shenzi turned and walked away, leaving her confused son behind.

A few weeks later things were going slightly better in the Pride Lands. Nala and Tama were both nearing the end of their pregnancies. But things weren't all good in the Pride Lands. Sarabi had taken ill and was unable to leave the cave. And Shenzi and her hyenas were continuing to cause trouble. But they always managed to make their escape before Simba could catch them. "Damn those hyenas," Simba hissed as he made his way up the side of Pride Rock with Malika right behind him.

"All this running around is wearing me out," Malika said with a sigh.

"Tell me about it," Simba muttered. "But at least you don't have to deal with all the other problems. Like those damn rhinos and elephants fighting constantly." Malkia was about to respond when suddenly they were met by a heavily pregnant Nala. By now the two lions had reached the top of Pride Rock.

"Simba!" the creamy coated lioness cried out. "Thank the Kings you're back!"

"Nala what's wrong?!" Simba cried out, concerned at his mate's tone. "Is it my mother? Are you in labor? What..."

"Simba calm down," Nala said, laughing slightly. "Your mother is no worse than she was already. And I'm not the one that's in labor."

"Then who..." Simba began.

"Tama!" Malkia cried out, his brown eyes wide. "Tama's in labor isn't she?"

"Yes," Nala said with a smile. Without saying another word Malkia ran full force towards the nursery cave where he was met by his mother: Jasiri.

"Mom!" Malkia cried out, running up to his mother. "Mom! How's Tama? What's going on?"

"Honey Tama is doing just fine," Jasiri said with a slight laugh. "Asha is in there with her.

"Is the cub here yet?" Malkia asked. Just then he heard Tama's cry of pain echo through the air. The dark brown lion looked at his mother with wide brown eyes.

"That's perfectly normal honey," Jasiri said, nuzzling her son. "I promise you everything is fine. I'll be back out when the cub is here." With that Jasiri went back inside the cave.

"She's right you know," Nala said with a smile.

"Yeah," Malkia said with a sigh. "I know she is. But I'm still worried." With that Malkia began to pace outside the cave.

"I know how he feels," Simba muttered, looking over at Nala, who flashed her mate a smile. The golden coated lion was worried that his mate could go into labor at any minute and this though terrified him for fear of something happening to her or the cub. Just then Sarabi emerged from the cave. "Mom!" Simba cried out, running over to his mother. "What are you doing out here?! You're sick!"

"Honey I feel fine," Sarabi said, trying to sound as convincing as possible. Even though Sarabi wasn't about to admit it she was still feeling weak. But the tan coated lioness was determined to act as normal as possible. So she continued her ruse and said, "Rafiki said I could take small walks if I'm feeing up to it. And I heard Tama was in labor so I came out to see if I could help."

"The best thing you can do is rest," Simba said. "So please go back inside."

"Simba..." Sarabi began. But she didn't get a chance to finish when Nala let out a cry. Simba and Sarabi looked over at the Queen with looks of concern.

"Nala what's wrong?" Simba asked, running over to his mate.

"My water just broke!" Nala cried out, her blue eyes wide. "I'm in labor!"
