Ch 15 A Slip up

Vitani and Nuka headed towards the river. As they got closer they heard the sounds of splashing followed by giggling and angry shouting. "Kopa that wasn't funny!" an angry sounding Zuri said emerging from the water where Kopa and Bunga were laughing hysterically.

"Ah lighten up Zuri," Kopa said, still laughing.

"Yeah lighten up," Bunga laughed. "You're always so uptight Zuri."

"And you're always acting like an immature baby," Fuli said, rolling her green eyes. "Grow up."

"Yeah Bunga grow up," Kopa mocked with a laugh.

"Kopa you need to grow up too," Tiifu declared, rolling her hazel eyes. "You're just as bad as Bunga."

"Ah shut up Tiifu," Kopa grumbled, glaring at the golden cub.

"Guys we have company," Ono said, pointing a wing in the direction of Nuka and Vitani. Zuri gasped and quickly got out of the water. Kopa let out a small growl and glared at the brother and sister.

"Who are you?" the light gold cub growled. "And why are you trespassing here?"

"Relax twerp we ain't gonna hurt ya," Nuka said, rolling his red eyes. "My sister and I were just getting a drink."

"Then get one in the Outlands," Kopa growled, still glaring at the siblings.

"This is the Outlands dummy," Vitani said, rolling her own blue eyes. "So really you are your friends are trespassing."

"She's right Kop'," Tiifu whispered, looking around and noticing that we were indeed in the Outlands.

"Oh us sorry about that," Kopa said with a nervous laugh as he and his friends backed away from Nuka and Vitani. "We'll uh we'll just be going now."

"Heh look Nuk' they're actually scared of us," Vitani snickered.

"As they should be," Nuka said, smirking at the Pride Land youngsters.

"Hey we're not afraid of ya!" Bunga shouted, putting his hands on his hips.

"Speak for yourself," Zuri muttered as she hid behind a rock where Tiifu was already hiding.

"Well you should be," Nuka growled, inching closer to the cubs while extending his claws and baring his teeth. "Don't you know who we are?"

"N...no," Kopa stammered, backing away from Nuka. "W...we have no idea who you are."

"Yeah and we really don't want to either," Ono chimed in.

"Nuka please don't start anything," Vitani said. "Mother won't like it one bit if you get into another fight. Do you want another beating?"

"Good point 'Tani," Nuka said, straitening up and sheathing his claws.

"Look I'm sorry 'bout my idiot brother," Vitani said. "We're just not used to other cubs being here that's all."

"You guys wanna hang with us?" Kopa asked, after realizing that Nuka really wasn't going to hurt him.

"Sure," Vitani said, her blue eyes lighting up.

"Uh no offence but I'm almost of grown lion," Nuka said. "So I'll pass on hanging out with a bunch of babies."

"Hey we're not babies!" Bunga cried out, clearly insulted by Nuka's words.

"Still I'll pass," Nuka said, turning and walking away. "Oh and by the way 'Tani if I were you I'd be back by dark. Wouldn't want you to face Mother's wrath." Without waiting for a response Nuka was gone.

"What'd he mean by that?" Kopa wondered, a confused look on his face.

"They probably have a mean Mom," Bunga said with a shrug.

"You have no idea," Vitani muttered.

"C'mon lets play already," Fuli said, the impatience clear in her voice.

"Race ya to the other side!" Kopa called out, looking directly at Vitani.

"You're so gonna regret changeling me," Vitani taunted, racing after Kopa. Since Vitani was seven months old compared to Kopa's three months she easily over took the light gold cub. "Ha!" Vitani scoffed. "Told ya so!"

"Wow you're pretty fast," Fuli said, clearly impressed.

"Yeah well where I come from you kind of have to be," Vitani declared. "Its either you're fast or you'll die."

"That sounds awful," Tiifu said softly.

"Yeah well ya get used to it," Vitani said. "But I really don't wanna talk 'bout that."

"Yeah lets play!" Kopa cried out. "Can't catch me!" With that Kopa ran away from Vitani, laughing the entire time.

"I'll get you alright," Vitani said with a laugh of her own. With that the tan coated cub chased after Kopa while the others joined in.

TLKTLKTLK

Another week past and Kion and Kiara were once again allowed to leave the cave. "Hey guys!" Kopa called out, running over to his friends with a smile.

"Hey there Kop'," Kion said with a smile of his own.

"C'mon I wanna introduce you guys to a really neat cub I met the other day," Kopa said. Kopa had been meeting up with Vitani everyday, usually by himself as Tiifu, Zuri and the others didn't like going into the Outlands.

"Sure," Kiara said with a smile. "We were going to meet up with Uongo and Miwa anyways."

"Kiara," Zuri said, popping up in front of the Princess. "You promised you'd hang out with me and Tiifu today.'

"Yeah," Bunga said as he and Fuli approached the group. "And you promised you'd hang with us today Ky."

"Well," Kion said, wrinkling his brow in thought. "We could hang out with Kopa too and meet this new cub."

"Sure," Fuli said with a shrug. "Beshte said he was gonna be by the Grasslands today so maybe we'll meet up with him too."

"We should go by the Grasslands too," Kiara said to Zuri and Tiifu. It wouldn't be very nice to leave Uongo waiting all day for me."

"Fine with me," Tiifu said with a shrug. With that the group of young animals departed for their intended destinations.

TLKTLKTLK

As Kiara and the others reached the Grasslands they saw Kovu and Miwa waiting for them. "Hey Miwa come with us!" Kion called out. "Kopa said he wants is to meet a new cub."

"Sure that sounds like fun," Miwa said with a smile.

"Uongo you can hang with us if you wanna," Kiara said, smiling at Kovu.

"Ugh does he have to?" Zuri groaned.

"Zuri that's not very nice!" Kiara snapped.

"I didn't mean to be mean," Zuri said. "I just thought it was going to be just us girls today."

"Its ok," Kovu said quickly. "We don't have to hang out today if you really don't wanna."

"No I want to," Kiara said.

"Yeah me too," Tiifu chimed in.

"Fine," Zuri said, knowing she was beat. "He can come."

"Like I needed your permission," Kovu muttered, rolling his green eyes. But the girls didn't hear him and they were already taking off towards the watering hole. "Hey wait for me!" Kovu called out as he raced to catch up with the girls.

"C'mon lets go!" Kopa called out to the others. "She's gonna be mad if I make her wait to long!" With that Kion, Miwa, Fuli, and Bunga followed the light gold cub.

A little while later the group was near the area where the Outland bordered the Grasslands. Vitani was waiting there. When she saw Kopa heading her way a big smile went across her muzzle. But that smile quickly changed when she was Miwa was with them. When Miwa saw her cousin there her blue eyes went wide and before she could stop herself she said, "Vitani? What the Heck are you doing here?" Miwa quickly shut her mouth as she instantly realized her mistake. "Maybe no one will notice," she thought as she looked at her friends. But to her dismay Miwa saw they were looking at her with a surprised expression while Vitani was looking at her with a angry expression. Miwa opened her mouth to explain. But before she could a loud roar echoed through the air. The cubs gasped and their eyes went wide when they saw who was standing before them.
