Episode 3 The Big Sleep
Last Time on Total Drama Island…
Twenty-Two campers arrive to find they'd be spending the next eight weeks at a crumby old summer camp. The campers were faced with they're first challenge, jumping off a cliff into shark infested water. And while most campers took the plunge, one was forced to wear the dreaded chicken hat. At the campfire ceremony it all came down to two players, Shawn who refused to jump due to the possibility of his face being damaged, and Wanda who told everyone to vote her out. In the end, the first person voted out of Total Drama Island was Wanda; proving that asking to leave is a bad strategy.

Chris walked towards the cabin and held up a megaphone. Then he held an air horn to it and blew with a devilish grin.
"Ow!" Ramona said as she banged her head on the top bunk. "It's seven in the morning!" Then she ran out the window and yelled out of it, "Do I look like a farmer to you?"

Chris waited as the campers got dressed and assembled themselves. Luis walked over to Shawn. "Morning Shawn!," He said.
Shawn ignored him as he kept looking at himself through a mirror.
"Um…"
"Morning" Chris said cheerfully, "Hope you slept well"
"You woke us up very early," Chrstian replied. "Luckily i'm a morning person so it doesn't faze me."
"I hope you're all ready, because your next challenge begins in one minute."
"Are we skipping breakfast?" Lamar asked him.
"Oh, you'll get breakfast Lamar. Right after you complete your twenty kilometer run around the lake!"
"D-Did you know that a K-Kilometer is equal to o-one thousand meters?"
"Jake," Caroline warned, "Maybe try toning down the facts." Then she turned to Chris. "Are you enjoying this?"
"Yes." The host said simply, "You have thirty seconds"

Caroline= Jake really has to cut it out with his random facts, he seems nice but he's gonna get himself voted out by the rest of the team if he keeps this up.

"Ok Runners!" Chris called, "On your marks, get set go! With that, Allen, Garry Louis, and Donna took off, with Shawn lagging behind still looking at himself in the mirror before he realized the race started.
"I wond-der how much longer this will be?" Jake asked a nearby Christian.
"Probably not that much longer," Chrstian told him.
Chelsea was strolling at a decent pace when Jonathan ran past her and bumped into her. "Do you Mind?"

Chelsea - "I don't run. and i definitely don't run in high heel wedges"

Chelsea walked into a puddle, where Louis was just about passed out. "So tired," he said. "Can't catch my breath." Each word was preceded by a gasp
"Maybe if you weren't so out of shape," Chelsea said.
"Oh Yeah?" Ramona said out of breath herself. " And what's your excuse? You stuck up, annoying. Whew, too tired for insults."
"Pick it up people!" Chris said while driving past all the campers on a moped. "If you're not back by dinner time, you don't eat!'
"I hate him so much," Chelsea said while walking off. She stepped on Louis several times, each producing a sickening crack.

In the main lodge, seventeen campers were waiting around for the other four. "Clear a Table! Now!" Molly said as she burst through the door with an unconscious Louis in her arms.
Ramona walked in a few seconds later, "Ugh we made it" she then fell to her knees and crawled to the other Gophers where Molly was giving CPR to Louis.
"What took you so long?" Brenda asked Jake. "We just lost the challenge."
"I-I think i'm h-having h-heart p-palpitations" Jake said.
"Wait a minute," Erica said. "If they lost, that means that we won the challenge. At that the Gophers started cheering, even Louis, who had suddenly woken up.
"Whoah, hold your horses guys," Chris said. "That wasn't the challenge."
"What did you just say"
Chris walked to a curtain. "Who's Hungry?" he said as he pulled the curtain pack to reveal a thanksgiving buffet.
Confessional
Garry - After a whole week of brown sludge, I almost cried when I saw that buffet.
Caleb - That Right there might've been the happiest moment of my life.
Christian - and so we eat, the food tasted just as great as the food my grandmother used to cook for me…. So i'm 100% positive there was no way chef made this

The campers all groaned with full stomachs and empty plates. Chris jumped on to the table and announced "Time for part two of your challenge!"
"I thought eating was the second part," Allen said.
"What more do you want from us?" Brenda asked in disbelief.
"Yeah," Jonathan said, "Haven't we suffered enough?"
"Um The host said, "Let me think about that. No! it's time for the Awake-athon!"
"The What-Athon?" Nick asked.
"Don't worry," Chris told him, "This is an easy one. The team with the last camper standing wins invincibility."
"So," Jasmine asked, "the 20k run and the turkey eating frenzy were all a part of your plan to make it harder for us to stay awake?"
"That's right Jasmine!'
"Man he's good." to which, Ramona nodded in agreement.
"Move, Move, Move"
"So," Allen said walking up to Erica, "How long do you think it'll be before everyone's out cold?"
"Bout an hour give or take, when an already groggy Louis walked by then she added, "Maybe Less."
A voice over from Chris was heard "We are now twelve hours in, with twenty two campers all still wide awake."
"Wooo!" Louis Yelled to his team. "Staying awake for 12 hours," Louis begins to look tired, ``I can do that in my sleep," he passes out.

Jonathan - The Awake-athon is brutal, but nothing compared to what it would be like if Wanda was still here. -He shutters to himself- i get chills just thinking about it
"This is the most boring thing I've ever done in my life." Erica said.
"Could be way worse," Allen told her.
"Oh yeah," She asked curiously, "How?"
"I could be here without you to talk to. He said, Erica smiled at the comment.
Confessional
Garry - So my strategy is to form an alliance that will take me to the merge. The Question is, who should I ask to join?
Garry looks at his team and picks Donna, Shawn, Chelsea, and Jonathan.
He whispers to all 4 of them to meet him near a tree so they can discuss something.

"Ok" Garry explained. "I wanted to create a majority alliance of 5 so that we can all reach the merge, and I think you guys are the best fit for that."
"Really?" Chelsea asked excitedly.
"This is a very big deal," Garry told them, "I am placing my trust in you so that we can all go far in the game together"
"So then we'll all make Final 6!" Shawn said excitedly.
"It's final 5 you idiot" Donna replied.
"Oh, I'm sorry math is for ugly people."
"Alright cool it guys." Garry interjected, "We're gonna be in the same alliance so we're all gonna have to get along."
Confessional
Shawn - At first I thought I might go home, but now I'm a majority alliance that will make up the final 5, and that will make that final 5 100% more handsome.
Jonathan - So Garry asked me to be in an alliance, I'll vote with him since I want to get to the final 5. If a chance comes up to turn on this alliance I will take it, cause I see them all as threats."
Donna - I like Garry…..so hopefully this alliance will pan out with us.

Most of the Gophers members were talking with other members on they're team. But Shawn was sitting off to the side looking into a mirror. Nick saw this with a smile and a smirk. He got up and walked over to her. "What's up man?" Nick asked.
"Oh nothing, just that my team is getting pissed about how self centered i am." Shawn said. "So i'm trying to be less of that"
"I think your team is just jealous," Nick said. "Us good looking people have to stick together, cause the ugly people are usually just looking for a way to look more like us"
"Yeah, I wish there was a way for them to be as good looking as me, besides Chelsea none of them are anywhere near my level"
"That's impossible," Nick whispered in his ear. "I think your team would really appreciate it if you could give them tips on how an ugly person can be attractive, you know, like skin care, personal hygiene and a makeover.
"You know what?" Shawn stated. "I'm gonna take you up on that and beautify my teammates, I'm sure that'll make them like me better." Not noticing Christian looking at him with a look of suspicion.

Christian - I'm not stupid, i know excatly what Nick was doing. He's trying to make Shawn more annoying then he already is to get him voted off. If this dude is as smart as I think he is, it might be wise to make an alliance with him.

(24 Hour Mark)
At this point, Shawn, Ramona, Faith, Annie and Caroline feel asleep.
"Congratulations campers!" Chris said to those still awake. "You've made it to the twenty for hour mark, time to kick things up a notch." Chef walked up wearing a sheep costume and carrying a miniature harp. The host uncovered a pile of books and said "Fairy Tales!"
"Oh, he's not serious," Brenda said. Chris picked up a book and cleared his throat while Chef played a few notes on the harp, and growled at the snickers he received.
"Once." The host said slowly and dully, "Once upon a time. There was inside this boring kingdom," he continued as Evan yawned, "A sleeping village,and inside this boring sleepy villiage." Christian was also having trouble staying awake, "Filled with very boring children who did very boring things…" He trailed off as Chris, suddenly in a tutu, began dancing around the camper and sprinkling dust around them. Various campers yawned, and Caleb, in an attempt to stay awake tied himself to a tree. However, he still fell asleep and took the tree down with him.
"Great," Brendan said sarcastically.

(40 Hour Mark)
Christian and Lamar were talking to each other. "I'm gonna be honest with you Christian cause I think you're cool and we're friends, I overheard Nick and Brenda forming an alliance together." Lamar said.
"Really?" Christian asked. shocked, as Lamar nodded his head. "You know, i actually think it might be in our best interest to team up with them and form an alliance"
"No way!" Lamar said out loud, "That's what i was just coming over here to tell you" He said as he and Christian had a laugh at this.
"We should talk to them if we lose this challenge, cause then we'll have something to fall back on, we can rat them out to the team or vote with them and send someone else home." Christian stated.
"That's sounds good to me man '' Lamar said and he fist pumped Christian and they went their separate ways.

Lamar - Christian's the homie, But if we get to the final 2 i'm not gonna go easy on him. A million dollars would be enough to buy anything you can possibly dream of…

Garry was also talking to his allies. "Hey, we need to talk," he said to Donna, who was asleep. He poked her in the arm as she fell over. "Chelsea?" she asked the other girl who was also knocked out. It was just Jonathan and Garry in the alliance left awake.

"Okay," Erika asked Allen, "Favorite song?"
"She would be loved," Allen replied. "Favorite color?"
"Um, Midnight Blue,"
"Ooh, mysterious. I like that." Erika smiled then Yawned "Oh, don't fall asleep. "Okay quick, what's your favorite movie moment?"
"You're gonna think it's cheesy," she warned.
"I promise i won't"
"Ok, the kiss at the end of that road trip movie. "You know the one with the guy and the three girls."
"I know the one," he said and laughed. "You liked that movie?"
"Hey, you said you weren't gonna judge" She said in a mock offense.
"You're right, You're right," he said, still laughing.
Later the two Gophers were stargazing. "You still awake?" Allen asked Erica.
"Yeah, she replied. "The thing is, I'm so tired thatI'm not even tired anymore. Does that make sense?"
"I really have no idea. Where's the lil diaper again?"
"See the big dipper?" she asked, pointing to it. Follow the handle to that bright star, the pole star and it's right there."
"Ah, cool"

Christian walked over to where Jasmine was, "Ok" he asked. How are you not tired"
"Training," Jasmine replied. "Staying up for a long period of time is something a survivalist must know how to do."
"Right."

(51 Hour Mark)
Jonathan, who had already fallen asleep, was awoken by Erica's voice. "Look at him,'' she said, looking at Garry. "He's like a statue. He hasn't moved in over 10 hours!" Both she and Allen tried to get his attention to no avail. "Amazing, look at the concentration" she said and she poked his face. He woke up and revealed his attempt at cheating
"His eyelids are painted!" Brenda called.
"Oh Shut up," Chris said. "I've gotta see this" he ran to Garry who blinked and smiled. "That is so freaking' cool, but you're still out dude."

(80 Hour Mark)
Jake, Christian, Lamar, and Brenda all feel asleep prior.
Molly, Erica, and Allen were sitting around on stumps. "I'd kill for a coffee right now," Erica said.
"What is the matter with you people?" Chris asked, sipping a cup of coffee. "Come onFall asleep already"
"You gotta hook me up man!" Erika said, clinging to the host's leg, "I'll even eat the grinds, Anything!"
"Alright you five stay with me," Chris said to the three gophers and Nick and Jasmine. "The rest of you go and get a shower for heaven's sake. You stink!" the others walked away as Chris took another sip of coffee. "I didn't want it to come to this, but darn it these campers are tough. So i came up with the most boring, sleep inducing activity i could find"

Erika - Oh come on, what now? You know what? Bring it on!

"The history of Canada" The host began in a dull voice. Chapter One, The Beaver: National symbol and a "dam" fine hat." The other campers groaned.

Jasmine - I've spent hours staying awake for survival training purposes, but I wasn't gonna last too long with Canadian history."
(82 Hour Mark)
"Which of course was the presecurer leading to the events of the war of 1812" Chris droned to the remaining four, as Molly had fallen asleep. Erika notice the look of exusation on Allen's face
"Allen! Don't leave me…." She said as he fell asleep.
"Time for bathroom break!" Chris said. "Any Takers?"
"I've held it this long! Nick said. "I can go all day"
"Yeah, but can you hold it in for another 10 chapters?" Erika asked.
"You've got 5 minutes," Chris told him.

"Nick you in there man?" The cameraman asked for a wooden stall. Then he opened the door of said stall to reveal that Nick had fallen asleep. He notified Chris of this development.
"And we have News! The host said. "It looks like Nick's taken a dive on the can, so the winner will be either Jasmine or-" He was interrupted by a thud and looked over to see a sleeping Erica and a shocked Jasmine. "The Official winner of the Awake-athon - is Jasmine! The Killer Bass Win! Jasmine then chose that moment to sleep.

"So that's why I think you're jealous of me and just need a makeover so you can look presentable" Shawn said to Ramona.
"What!" Ramona said angrily. "You need to be quiet pretty boy"
"You're just jealous of me being the hottest person on the island, In fact all of you are! Don't worry though because I'll be giving this advice to the rest of the team."
"Not before i tell the whole team what you're up to" Ramona replied fumming as she walked away.
Confessional
Shawn - Ramona thinks she's getting me out? Don't make me laugh, we have a 6-4 alliance majority that already agreed to vote out Louis, he's been nothing but dead weight and is in fact very ugly.
Nick - I put a target on Shawn's back cause he's the strongest member of the Screaming Gophers, and when he's gone they'll suffer in challenges and the Killer Bass will reign supreme, Then my alliance will take me right to the end and i'll win. I'm gonna need more people for this alliance, and it really doesn't matter how much i trust them cause i will not hesitate to backstab them.
"You've all cast your vote and made your decisions." Chris to the Gophers. "There are only 9 Marshmallows on my plate, when I call your name, come up and claim your marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately return to the dock of shame, catch the boat of losers and lose. And you can never come back, ever. The first marshmallow goes to Donna. Molly. Chelsea. Garry and Erica. Allen, Jonathan, and Ramona. "The final marshmallow of the evening goes to…." He paused to draw out dramatic attention. "No one"
"Huh?" Everyone replied"
"We have a tie," The host explained.
"Are you eliminating both of them?" Garry asked.
"Nope," The host replied. "We will go into a tiebreaker to see who wins"
"Okay….The Host said. "Pick a number 1-10."
"Wow, this is such a lame tiebreaker" Jonathan stated plainly
"Shush" The host said "This is a 30 minute show"
"7" Shawn yelled out as an aswer.
"3" Louis also yelled out as an answer.
"Ok the correct number was 8, which means Shawn was the lowest...Sorry Louis but you're gone"
Louis looked at his former teammates with some sadness then walked to the dock of shame.

Garry - Well that happened, i didn't expect the 5 other contestants not in our alliance to vote the same….until Shawn opened his mouth talking about her they're ugly. It seems weird that he randomly pulled something like this after being so much calmer for the past few days. All I know is that I'll definitely be more alert in the game now.
Author's Note: This chapter had a lot of movement with alliances and Friendships/relationships/Conflict, i hope you enjoyed it. Louis was a super funny character to write for but he had to go here. In very early stages he was gonna be a best friend type character but i just felt that would be a waste. Also if you're wondering about Nick's plan, he didn't know there was a 5 man alliance with Shawn on the other side, so he thought for sure that Shawn was going home. Also I hope the math thing was funny.
