Episode 16: Search and Do Not Destroy
Last time on Total Drama Island…
The teams were dissolved, leaving each and every camper to look out for themselves. And just to add a little more drama to the mix, Louis and Chelsea had the chance to return for fun. The campers were made to suffer all manners of abuse in the No pain, No game challenge! Ever the gentleman, Allen stepped in to save Romona from the perils of the beach barrel. And somehow Brenda won the challenge. This caused Louis and Chelsea to not return to the game. Unsurprisingly, Nick and Brenda betrayed Caroline and sent her off the island. Now that the campers are forced to fend for themselves, Who will be selfless? Who will be selfish? And who will eat shellfish? Stay tuned for the most thrilling episode yet, on Total..Drama…Island!

The episode opens with a shot of Christian reading from a bunk. Nick comes in from a shower. "You're up early," Christian commented.
"I have some things to think about," Nick replied. "I'm sure you do as well."
"Meaning?"
"Well, it's clear that our alliance has a number's advantage. But you must think of what to do in the event that you wanna remove a threat from your alliance. After all, this is for a million bucks."
"If you're trying to hint at something, it's not working," he stopped reading and looked at Nick "I get where you're coming from though."
"Trust me, I already figured that out," Nick said.

Confessional
Nick - I'm very glad that my plan worked to perfection. As for Christian, I wanted to plant some seeds in his head about turning on the alliance at some point. There's a few people in my alliance who would be my last choice for a final two.

After the confessional, the camera cut to Chris, wearing a pirate costume, as he shot a cannon. The view shifted to where the cannonball landed, Brenda's trailer. Brenda, who was asleep at the time, rose up and looked around, revealing her tired state.
"Argh, you landlubbers," the host said in a pirate accent through a microphone, "Meet me at the amphitheater in five minutes to discuss today's challenge!"

At the amphitheater, the campers were all getting seated. The stage had something hidden under a sheet. A still tired Brenda showed up.
"All right my young scallywags," Chris said still in the accent, "Have we got an adventure in store fo ye!" His plastic parrot fell from his shoulder and he fixed it.
"What's under the sheet?" Allen asked.
"All in good time laddie," the host answered. "Who here has a hankerin' for a good old fashioned treasure hunt?" Erica rolled her eyes. "Now this treasure hunt's got a twist mateys. What yer looking for isn't hidden and, it isn't treasure."
"That doesn't explain the bad pirate costume," Christian said.
Chris ignored him. "Yer lookin' fer keys to a treasure chest!" Chef in a pirate hat pulled the sheet away to reveal three treasure chests stacked on top of each other, "Inside each chest is a treasure that will pamper your landlubbers! And one of those chests will give you… Invincibility! Har har har!" Chef held up a bucket with pieces of wood in it. "Now all of you come up and pull a clue from this bucket or you'll all be forced to walk the plank!"

The campers grabbed their clues. "These clues tell ye were ye key be stored,"
Caleb looked at his clue, which had a picture of a key under a bear. "My key is under a bear?" he asked with a hint of disappointment.
Chris popped up behind him and said, "I was hoping you'd get that one dude," in his normal voice. He looked at Ramona's clue, a key inside a fridge. "Chef's fridge. Nice. I hear he brushes it daily for fingerprints." Ramona's eyes went wide. Christina's clue was a key in a tank or pool. "That right there's the skeptic tank for the washrooms."

"All you scallywags go get yer keys and bring them back before 6 PM Eastern Standard Time to open up the chest and get your loot! Fare thee well young scallywags. Now get to it!"

Confessional
Christian - This isn't my favorite challenge, though I could be biased.
Caleb - This is gonna suck! That bear wants revenge for the time I gave it a noogie when I first got here. I might even have to fight it again.

After the confessionals, The camera cut to a key strapped to a post in the lake. Allen stood on the dock with a pensive expression. "Allen's first challenge," a voice over from Chris said, "grabbing his eye from the shark infested lake." The musician got an idea, he threw dead fish in the lake to draw the sharks away, then dived in and grabbed the key. Erica watched nearby with a worried look.
Allen came back with his key and bragged, "That was way too easy." Erica smiled.

The camera flashed to the main lodge, where Ramona was sneaking to Chef's fridge. "Ramona must retrieve her key from Chef's bank vault of a fridge without getting caught," Chris said via voice over. Ramona opened the fridge and Chef was inside, glaring at her and holding a cleaver. She closed the door and left the building.

The scene flashed to the woods, where Erica was hesitant about digging through a skunkhole. Allen showed up later and asked, "What's wrong?"
"My key is in that skunkhole," she explained. "Skunks totally freak me out."
"Hey, I already got my key," Allen said. "Maybe I could help you out."
"But this is totally impossible"
"Just dump some water in there and flush em out," Trent suggested.
"Can skunks swim?"
"Totally."
"Cool."

The scene cut to behind the main lodge where Brenda, Lamar, Faith Christian, Caleb and Nick were discussing their alliance. "So, the last vote went well," Christian commented.
"I still don't see why we just didn't vote out a gopher," Caleb said.
"Because Caroline was the biggest threat to this alliance," Brenda explained. "We need to do this right. We want to vote off people that are threats and not just cause we dislike them. Cause once we get get rid of the threats-"
"It'll be easy sailing to the final 6." Lamar said.
"Exactly."
"There's one thing I don't get," Faith said, "Chris said that there was a vote for Erica, only one. Where did that vote come from?
"We had to get Caroline to cast a vote for one of the gophers to avoid a tie, remember?" Brenda said.
"Oh yeah," Faith replied as the rest of everyone facepalmed.

Back in the woods, Allen and Erica dumped a bucket of water in the skunkhole. A skunk ran out of there a second later. Erica grabbed her key.
Another scene is shown where Ramona broke the window of Chef's kitchen and snuck in to get the key.

Confessional
Erica - That was moderately cool of Trent to help me with the skunks. He's ok. Ok, he's more than ok. He's so incredible!
Allen - Erica is so smart and independent, and she's amazing to look at. She just rocks my whole world. So yeah, I'd help her with some skunks.

Erica ran up to Allen and kissed him. The footage stopped and Chris talked over it. "Aww, what a heart-warming trust building moment. Did I see tongue?" He circled the two's lips. The footage resumed and shifted to a nearby bush, where Nick was watching.
Confessional
Nick - Very interesting development, those two were already on my immediate radar.

The camera shifted to a clue, a key over a fireplace. The hand lowered a clue to reveal a ring of fire, Garry watching nearby. He inhaled and took a deep breath. He summersualted through the hoop and got the key. "I have no idea how he did that," Chris said with a voiceover.
The scene flashed to the woods, where Lamar was climbing a tree. "But Lamar seems a little out of his element," Lamar made it to the branch holding on to the tree, and clung on to it. A woodpecker pecked at the branch.
Once more the scene flashed to the restrooms. Christian stared at one of the toilets. "Meanwhile, back at the communal washrooms," things are starting to..pile up."

The camera flashed again, this time to Molly standing next to a beehive. She rubbed her chin in thought and left. The camera skipped ahead to when she came back with some flaming foliage. Faith was with her and looked confused. Molly placed the leaves under the hive and the smoke chased the bees away, unfortunately, they also chased Faith away. "Sorry!" Molly called to her.

Another camera flash, this time to the key around a bear's neck. The bear laid down and started sleeping. Caleb stuck into the cave muttering, "Not good, Not good, Not good." He tried to snake his hand under the bear to grab the key, but the bear put it's arm around him and cuddled him. "So not good."

Nick's key was in the coils of a rattlesnake. He walked over to it and adopted an aggressive stance. "I assure you that is unnecessary," he told it. "I'm aware I have no hope to beat such an exquisite creature. The way you use your rattle is truly terrifying and your venom alone must be enough to kill hundreds." The snake rattled in such a way that resembled a swoon and relaxed. Nick grabbed his key shortly after. "Hello Brenda," he said without turning around.
"So we're getting rid of Erica or Allen?" She asked him.
"Yes," He said with a grin, "I have an idea,"

Two alligators snapped around a key in a chalice. Faith stood by with a bunch of rocks. She smirked as she pelted the gators with the rocks. They swam away in confusion, and she dived in the water.

Back at the campgrounds, Allen hid a letter on Erica's bed on her side of the cabin. Nick was watching this and read the note after Allen left. With a smirk, he wrote another one and left it at the bunk before leaving. Erica came in and read Nick's note, "I want to show you something, meet me at the Dock of Shame at 5 o'clock. From Allen."
(Fade to Commercial)
The show returned to Nick and Brenda talking in the woods, "Just make sure you and Allen are at the dock a little before five," Nick instructed.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Brenda asked.
"You'll see,"

At the dock, Allen stood around with a nervous look on his face. Brenda came up behind him and said, "Hey Allen, can we talk?"
Allen jumped, "Sorry, but i'm waiting for-"
"Erica i know, i'm afraid she won't be coming."
"What do you mean? How do you know?"
"She read the note you left. She trash talked you in the girl's cabin while I was there. She said that she thinks you are a loser."
Allen started to tear up, "She really said that?"
"And some things I refuse to repeat, if i were you, i would pursue someone who you know will accept you, Like me. She said as she put a hand on his cheek.
"Um, really?"
"Of course"
Confessional
Allen - What was I thinking about liking Erica? She's way too amazing to like a loser like me. I should've never asked her out, this is a mess.

Brenda grabbed his face and kissed him on the spot. The camera cut to Erica, who saw it and ran off crying, before cutting it back to them. After the kiss, Allen asked, "What was that for? You know I'm still in a relationship with Erica."
"I know and I'm sorry," she said quickly, "I just need some time to think." She walked away with a smirk leaving Allen bewildered.

Erica - I can't believe Allen would do this! That two-timing liar deserves some karma.

Back at the cave, Caleb had gotten the key and was trying to get away from the bear. He tried tickling it's nose to get it to let go, but it woke up and growled. "Looks like we meet again."

Faith walked into the girl's cabin, with several scratches and tears in her clothes, to get a change of clothes. She saw Erica crying and asked, "Why are you crying?"
Erica looked up, "What happened to you?"
"Not all my plans turn out well," she explained, "But seriously what happened?"
"Well, it all started when I got a letter from Allen…"

Faith ran out of the cabin with fire in her eyes. "I can't believe I trusted her!"
The camera followed her around as she told everybody what she'd learned. First she told Christian, "We're kicking Brenda out of the alliance and voting off her or Allen. They're making out behind Erica's back."

Christian - Wow, who would've guessed that Brenda and Allen had a thing.

She told Lamar the same thing, then Found Garry and Molly relaxing by the campfire pit and told them.

Back in the woods, Nick and Brenda were discussing their plan. "And by now, news should have spread all over camp." Nick said.
"Perfect, this will teach them to turn against us,"
"Are you ever going to look for your key?"
Before she could answer, Chris said over the loudspeakers, "Alright campers meet me by the campfire pit in ten. And bring your keys,"

Faith - Sorry Allen, but one thing I can't stand is cheaters.

The campers gathered around the campfire, noticeably far from Christian. "Yar!" Chris announced in his pirate voice, "It be time to claim your treasure! Those fortunate enough to bear yer precious key, come forth with it.
Allen opened his chest and got a bag of chips and a chocolate bar. "I guess this is nice," he said to himself.
Caleb with his hair messed up and his arm in a sling complained, "My key's isn't opening anything."
"About that," Chris said. "Some keys don't open up any chests."
"Of course they don't," Caleb replied.
Ramona checked her chest and saw a gift basket, but one thing stood out. "Hey you're invisible," Allen pointed out, causing the others to glare at him.
Garry got some soda and Christian picked up a bottle of cologne. Chris popped up and said, "Christian, will be able to cover up that foul stench with new Cleaver body spray. Cleaver: It cuts through the stink."
"So I swam through sewers so you can do an ad? Just great." Christian deadpanned.
The camera flashed to the campers standing with their treasures and panned to show them all: Faith with a leg lamp, Erica with an accordion, Molly with a toaster, Lamar and Brenda with nothing, and Nick with a box of chocolate. All while Chris told them, "I hope everyone got the treasure they were looking for, and more! But now it's time to do your duty and send one of you off the island for good. So cast your votes. And I'll see ye buccaneers back at the campfire at sundown. "Argh, har har" He said that last part in a pirate voice.

Faith - I don't like Brenda, but I hate cheaters.
Garry - I was looking for a chance to switch sides anyway.
Caleb - You messed up dude.
Molly - You didn't really leave us with a choice.
Nick - Now Brenda is hated, and Erica's too devastated to be a threat. Also I'm hoping the other Gophers will turn on each other now that they know one is a cheater. The only downside is convincing my alliance that we still need Brenda, which will be very easy, just make Allen the villain.

"And now," Chris addressed the campers, "the moment we've all been waiting for. The moment of truth." He held up the plate. "Marshmallow time! You know the deal, if you don't get a marshmallow it's curtains for you." The camera showed shots of all the campers, save for Nick and Ramona, had nervous faces. One by one he passed out the marshmallows, "Ramona, Garry, Molly, Faith, Christian, Erica, Lamar, Nick, Caleb, Brenda, marshmallows for the lots of ya! Allen looked at the empty plate in shock. "Sorry dude." the host told him unapologetically, "You're out,"
Allen quickly got angry, "I can't believe you guys!"
"And I can't believe you're a cheater," Faith spat. "You make me sick."
"Yeah man, I thought you were better than that," Ramona said.
"I'm a loser," Allen spat back, "That's why you voted me off right?"
"No you got voted off because you set Erica up to watch you make out with Brenda over there."
"I thought she wasn't coming," he said softly.
"You're note said you wanted to show me something," Erica said.
"No, my note told you how much i liked you and i was gonna tell you that i wanted to continue to date after the show,"
"If that's the case," Erica said, "Then why did you kiss Brenda?"
"She kissed me," Allen replied, "Also she told me that you went on a rant in the girl's cabin and called me a loser,"
"So she lied and manipulated everything?" Erica asked.
"Yes and i'm so sor-" he was cut off by Erica hugging him.
"I hate that you have to go."
"I think I have time for a kiss," he suggested. The two were about to kiss when Chef popped up between them.
"Allen! you have an appointment at the dock of shame and a ticket on the Boat of Losers. Let's go."

The remaining ten campers came to the dock to see Allen off. He waved to Erica as he was driven away. Brenda said something, "I guess we all learned something today huh? I need a shower mine isn't working.
Ramona glared in her direction and said, "Go on, I'll catch up."

The scene cut to a shot of the washrooms. Brenda could be heard singing. Ramona snuck to the side of the building and hooked the skeptic tank to some of the pipes. Brenda was heard screaming, "What's going on? Where's the sewage coming from? Somebody help!"
As the screams turned into cries, Ramona said to herself, "I almost feel bad for her. Almost.

The final shot of the episode was on the boat of losers. Allen sat with a dejected look as the boat of losers drove away.

Author's Note: I really liked this chapter, Allen had a lot of screen time but i always intended for him to go where Trent went in canon, i do think he was more Complex than Trent tho.
