Episode 17 Hide and Be Sneaky
Previously on Total Drama Island…..
Campers searched for treasure, and yours truly put on an impressive performance as a pirate. But this was no ordinary treasure hunt. Some campers put their life on the line to snag their booty, while Christian put his stomach on the line doing something that would make most people hurl. But in the end the campers who went the limit were rewarded with treasures that, in hindsight, probably weren't worth the effort. Hehee. Oh well. Except for Ramona, who snagged immunity. Allen and Erica's love train finally left the station, but Nick and Brenda's scheming forced them right off the rails. And it was Allen who walked the plank. Shame, I was hoping for some more relationship drama. Oh well. Who will be the next unlucky camper to walk the Dock of Shame? Who will lose their cool? Who will lose their lunch? The episode began with a shot of the girl's cabin. Ramona and Erica sat on they're bunks with dejected looks while Molly paced about. "Okay girls," she said confidently, "I know it seems like we suffered a major defeat with Allen. But I promise that we can turn this around. We just need-"
"No," Ramona interrupted with an unusual amount of force.
"No, what?" Molly asked in surprise, having stopped her pacing.
"We can't turn this around. Allen. Is. Gone. One of my best friends, her boyfriend," she pointed to herself and Erica to emphasise that point. "I don't think I can do this anymore," she said defeadily. "The alliance, the strategy, and backstabbing. I'm just like, not cut out for it. So, I think we should all play for ourselves."
"Stop, I don't care if you're leaving. I'm not kicking you out of the alliance. I'm not evil.
"Honestly I'm not so sure," Ramona muttered to herself, but was still heard by Molly.

Molly - Wow, that kinda hurt to come from someone I consider to be my best friend here. I mean I know I've been playing the game, but someone's gotta save the Gophers from getting picked off. I really hope that I can fix this somehow.
Nick - I'll admit, this game so far has been as easy as taking candy from a baby. The last vote off was a great victory for me. I put the heat on Brenda and now the Gophers are a disorganized mess. Allen could've been a valuable ally, too bad we were on opposite alliances. I'm fairly certain I have my alliance's trust. I just need to build Brenda back up in theyre's eyes and finish off the gopher alliance, possibly with some other big threats going in between, and it will be pretty easy to pull off.

The camera flashed to the docks, where Chris was addressing the ten remaining campers. "Today's challenge is a good old-fashioned game of hide and seek. You all got 10 minutes to hide before Chef Hatchet comes looking for you. With his military background and advanced degree in manhunting," The camera showed Chef in his Master Chef get up then to a split screen of him in graduation robes on the stage of the amphitheater, "He's uniquely qualified to make this game excruciating…hard." The shot cut to Chef at the end of the dock, where he brandished a water gun with a dark grin.
"Why does he have a water gun?" Erica asked. A red dot appeared on her head and she started to look nervous.
Chris ignored her and gestured to her right. "The lifeguard chair is home base." The camera panned to said chair. "If he catches you, Chef will try to blast you. If you escape the blast, you can try to run to homebase." The host walked to the chair and laid a hand on it. "But if he catches you on your way, he'll douse you.."
The camera cut to Erica and Chef. "That doesn't sound that bad…" she trailed off nervously.
"Why don't you demonstrate chef," The host asked with a mischievous grin. The cook nodded and turned his gun on Chris before firing. The resulting blast pushed the host several yards back, much to the cook's surprise. "Not on me dude!" Chris yelled back.
"So, last man not found wins?" Christian asked.
"Not quite," Chris replied, having made it back to the group albeit soaking wet. "You can either not get discovered in your hiding spot, run to home base before Chef blasts you, or help Chef catch other campers once you've been caught. Doing any of these will net you invincibility. Any questions?" He waited before saying, "You got ten minutes to hide. Go!" The campers all took off.

The scene cut to a shot of the cabins. Chris walked on screen and the camera flashed to the inside of one, With Chris looking at a lump under one of the covers. "Any reason you're hiding under your covers Faith?"
"Fooled you," Faith answered. "This isn't even my bunk."
The host raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, you're gonna have to do a lot better than that if you wanna avoid capture,," he told her before she ran off. "My guess, she's a goner."

Back at the docks, Ramona looked around nervously as she sank into the water.

The camera faded to a shot of the sun, then panned down to the outside of the cave. Brenda crept nervously before being pulled in by a pair of arms. It was revealed to be Caleb, alongside Christian and Nick. "Good place to hide," Brenda commented.
Caleb addressed the alliance, "Guys and Brenda, Welcome to our alliance meeting spot."
"Great job Caleb," Nick complimented. "How'd you find this place?"
"The upside of going toe to toe with a bear," He shrugged.
"Well this is great," Christian dryly said. "But maybe we should find a different hiding spot?" Y'know so if we get caught no one but Lamar and Faith will know where we meet?"
"Good idea," Nick said. "You guys go on, I need to talk to Brenda about something." They all left the cave and he looked at Brenda. "How are you feeling?" Nick asked.
"Everyone's still mad at me," Brenda admitted. "And I'm not sure if you're even trustworthy anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I feel like you set me up," Brenda explained. "You basically got me into doing this even though I knew it was a bad idea. Like I just exist to do what you say. I'm not Faith…" she trailed off.
"Like Faith?" Nick asked in confusion.
"Well, you always seem to boss her around. But me and you should be a partnership. No one would even care if i got voted out,"
"Hey, you know that's not true," Nick explained.
"What do you mean?"
"Well…" Nick explained before a ripple effect appeared.

(Nick's Flashback)
The camera cut to a night-time shot of the Bass Cabin, Nick went inside with Evan sitting on his bed.
"Can I ask a favor of you, Evan?. I really like Brenda and I want to send her a love letter, However I'm much too nervous so if you can write it for me and sign it, and pretend it's from you I will be very grateful."
Evan looked shocked but said, "Sure, I'm down," They both looked at a blank sheet of paper before writing.

The ripple happened again, cutting back to Nick and Brenda.
"And that's when I realized that I loved you," Nick explained.
Brenda stepped up closer to him and gave him a kiss. "Thank you," she said.
Nick replied, "You should have nothing to worry about, you are a wonderful woman who deserves the world."
Brenda stared at him in disbelief for a moment, then her eyes narrowed in frightening determination. "You're right," she said. "I'm strong and I have value and worth as a person.
"I knew you had it in you," Nick said.
"I'm going to get some payback on the people who messed with me! And I don't care if that's okay with anyone!" She ran out of the cave with a battlecry.
Nick stared in the direction Brenda left and signed. "I might regret that later," He told the camera before walking off out of the cave.

The camera changed to a different member of the alliance, Christian, as he searched around the boathouse for anyone. When he was satisfied that he was alone, he snuck inside.

The scene flashed again, back to the woods this time, to a squirrel at the bottom of the tree. It was knocked out by an acorn falling. The camera panned up the tree to reveal a wide-eyed Garry at it's top, swaying under his weight.

Someone else in the woods, Erica had a blanket covered in grass and flowers to match the look of the forest floor. She laid on the ground and covered herself with it, shortly before punching a squirrel that got a little too curious

Even deeper into the woods, Brenda was walking, "Now why should I hide from Chef when I can just make sure that he doesn't catch me?" She asked herself with a smile.

Back in the campgrounds, Lamar walked around with an unsure look on his face before smiling at the main lodge. Nearby, Caleb was doing the same thing. The two boys jumped up, grabbed the roof, and climbed up to said roof on opposite sides of the building; All with neither one noticing each other. The camera panned out to show Nick walking inside the front door. It panned to the left to show Faith seeing the building with a smile.

The camera flashed to the campfire pit, Where Molly was standing around and trying to think of a hiding spot. She snapped her fingers at an idea and walked off, not noticing that her foot had caught the sting of lights.

The camera flashed to the kitchen in the main lodge, where Faith searched for a hiding spot. She ducked under the table and was surprised to see that she wasn't alone. "Nick!" she exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
His eye twitched in annoyance before answering, "Hiding, it seems as though we both had the same idea."

Confessional
Faith - I've been in Nick's alliance for such a long time, I think it's really fun. I just hope we all get final 5! I still don't like Brenda though.

"Okay, are we gonna kick Brenda out of the alliance?" Faith asked. Before Nick could answer, the door to the kitchen opened. The two teens looked to see Chef in the doorway, laughing sineristly."
(Fade to Commercial)
"This is my kitchen," the cook explained, "also known as: Forbidden Territory!"
The cook started walking towards the two. Nick pushed Faith in front of him with a call of "Nothing Personal!" and ran off. Shock prevented Faith from avoiding being tagged by Chef.
Nick ran out of the door, being chased by Chef. He pumped his water gun and fired, hitting Nick when he was at the dock. Chef walked over to tag him, and Ramona chose that moment to come up for air. She was grabbed by the cook when he saw her.

The camera flashed back to Molly, who had hidden behind a fairly large rock near the campfire pit. She looked around in boredom and signed. She caught a whiff of something, gagged and turned around to see a family of skunks. "So do any of you guys want to join my alliance?" she asked. They all went wide-eyed and scampered off. "Guess not." She turned back around and noticed Chef standing there. "Crap."

The scene went back to the roof of the main lodge. A bird flew and landed at the very top of the roof. Lamar smiled at it and said, "Aw come here little man."
On the other side of the roof Caleb heard this and looked up to see the bird. "What was that?." he wondered as the two boys climbed further up and surprised each other when they saw the other.
"What are you doing in my hiding place?" Lamar asked.
"What do you mean your hiding place?" Caleb replied. "This is my spot."
"Look," Lamar started, "We're cool and all. But you gotta-WOAHHH" the roof gave away and he fell through.
Caleb looked at the hole created by the fall. "Lamar, you alright down there?" Caleb then fell down himself. "No worries, i'm good," The two walked down the main lodge to find Nick and Faith smirking at them. "Crap,"

The camera flashed to the woods, where Chef was walking through with Molly and Ramona. He stepped on a lump of earth and it screamed in pain. It then signed and got up to reveal itself as Erica. The chef smiled and tapped her on the shoulder. Nick and Faith showed up with Caleb and Lamar behind them, "We found these two in the campgrounds," Faith explained. "So we're immune from the vote." She walked off, oblivious to the glares she was getting.

Chef and the group of campers he found gathered at a familiar tree. The cook grinned and kicked it. The campers all winced at the sound of pained grunts and thunks before the source of the sound, Garry, landed at Chef's feet. The cook looked at him and said, "You're done, son."

The scene cut to the inside of a boathouse. Chef kicked the door in and Christian let out a high pitched scream.

With all the campers except Brenda captured, Chef set out to find her. All the catchered campers followed behind, with Nick and Caleb at the rear. "Hey man, i gotta speak to you about the vote tonight,"
Caleb gave him an unsure look, "I don't think that's N-" he was interrupted by a crude arrow landing next to him. The two teens looked to see Brenda standing in a tree and laughing at the bewildered look on their faces.
She hopped down and started running, Chef chasing after her. He attempted to blast her with water several times, but Brenda somehow managed to not get hit. Suddenly there was a sound similar to a rope snapping and Chef was hoisted up into a net trap. Brenda approached the trapped cook and gloated, "Do I get extra points for tagging you?"
Chef was not amused, "Girlie! When i get outta here-"
He was interrupted by Chris's voice over the loudspeaker. "Alright campers, game's over. Time to pick the loser and send them packing, unless that person is Brenda, Nick or Faith."

The camera cuts to the alliance cave, where Nick, Faith, Brenda, Christian, Lamar and Caleb were discussing the vote. "...and that is why we have to eliminate Erica" Nick finished explaining.
"Wow," Brenda said with wide eyes, "I mean she is annoying, but i can't believe Erica is playing such a cutthroat game,"
"I guess it makes sense that she can't be trusted," Caleb asked. "You saw how she tried to hide from her team that she was great at dodgeball. I guess we know who has to go home."
"It's obvious that Erica is the brain of the Gophers" Lamar stated. "So if we get rid of her they'll have nothing,"
"Maybe we should vote off Ramona," Brenda said. "She is the biggest threat to win a challenge out of them."
"Well I'm voting for Erica, and I think we should all do the same," Lamar declared.
"And I'm voting for Ramona," Brenda replied.
"Fine!"
"Fine!" the two stormed off in different directions, leaving Nick to smirk at the development.

The Camera jumped to the lounge, where the remaining Gophers were discussing the vote. "So it's agreed," Garry said, "We vote Lamar off."
"I think we should get rid of Nick or Caleb," Molly warned.
"Why's that?" Ramona asked. "Lamar is the biggest threat. Besides, everyone likes him and he's built like a brick wall. We won't get another chance at this."
"Yeah but since we might not have the numbers, we should target someone we know is least likely to flip to our side," Molly replied.
"She has a point," Garry said.

Confessional
Garry - I have absolutely no idea what I'm gonna do tonight. Basically no one from the Bass wants to flip and we're just waiting to get picked off. I'm at such a low point right now…..

The static ending a confessional cut to the elimination ceremony. Molly , Erica, Ramona and Caleb sat by the fire with varying levels of nervousness. "There are only three marshmallows on my plate," Chris told them. "You each racked up votes. One of you is going home tonight. And cannot return ev-er. But it will not be…Molly." she signed in relief and claimed her marshmallow. "The next marshmallow goes to…Ramona." she calmly claimed her prize. Caleb and Erica both developed nervous expressions and looked at each other, But Erica quickly turned ito a glare., much to the confusion of Caleb. "The final marshmallow of the night goes to…..Caleb." The host flickered it to the relieved Caleb. "Wasn't the biggest shocker," Chris said as he tossed the plate behind him.

At the Dock of Shame, the campers had all gathered to see Erica off. She made it about halfaway when Ramona stopped her. "Erica, wait!" She ran up to her, hugged her, and whispered in her ear, "I won't let them get away with this."
She broke the hug with a smile. "I'll be cheering for you every step of the way," Erica then boarded the boat of losers.
Confessional
Nick - Brena and Lamar's argument is great, all the eyes are on them which is exactly what i wanted in the first place. A traitor in the gopher alliance was also exposed today, who I know is Garry. The Gophers will never regain trust and my alliance has infighting, which means I'm in complete control now.

Author's Note: I bet you didn't see that coming. Eric was a major character but I never planned on her making the finale. I really enjoyed writing about her relationship with Allen and her friendship with others.
