At the Human Village...
Police cars were surrounding the bank preparing to breach in to save the hostages. Meanwhile at the rooftop were 6 of the Joker's men guarding the area.
"Damn! This is the best night ever!" One of the goons exclaimed.
"How come?" Another goon asked.
"You kidding me? We're going to be rich by the end of the night and the flamethrower guy that The Joker hired is going to help us kill the bat once and for all!" The first goon explained.
"Don't get too excited about that. Remember, the boss needs the money for the weapons deal later. We'll be getting those guns sooner than you think." The third goon said.
"Alright. Let's just finish cleaning up the vault if we don't want to piss off the boss." The fourth goon suggested as they all did their jobs by securing the area.
The action began when Batman/Johnny performed a drop down at one of the goons and a ground takedown knocking him out.
"Oh crap! It's the freaking bat!" The goons startled at the vigilante's surprising appearance. All of them were in their fighting positions to take Batman/Johnny down.
Batman/Johnny punched a nearby thug 3 times putting him on the ground in a temporary time while he started to punch and kick other thugs like a free flow combat.
After punching the thugs 8 times, Batman/Johnny performed a Combo Takedown at a nearby thug breaking his arm to knock him down.
Batman/Johnny stunned his cape at another thug making him dizzy and beating him down multiple times. Batman/Johnny gave him a powerful uppercut finishing the thug off.
An upcoming Joker thug was about to attack Batman/Johnny but he so fast to grab his grappling gun/Batclaw and fired at the thug. Batman/Johnny pulled the rope to grab his enemy and slammed his body to the ground.
Batman/Johnny gave the second thug a punch and flying kick at the third thug. Since all of his enemies were still on the ground trying to regain strength, Batman/Johnny performed a Multi Ground Takedown jumping high up and unleash several powerful Batarangs that immediately incapacitate those enemies
"A lot of lives could be at risk inside the bank. If I could hack into their communication channel, I can learn more." Batman/Johnny thought after he defeated some of Joker's men.
Batman/Johnny grabbed one of the goons' walkie talkie and took its encryption key in his Cryptographic Sequencer to hack into their communication channel. The Cryptographic Sequencer is a device that allows Batman/Johnny to bypass security consoles, track signals, and listen in on radio broadcasts. It only took him a couple of seconds to finally hack into their communication broadcast.
"If the cops try anything stupid, kill a few hostages." The man with the jet pack said.
"Sure thing. How long before we set the timer on the bomb?" A Joker goon asked.
"Not until the Bat-man shows! The Joker said we'll all get our bonus when we deliver the bat alive!" The man with the jet pack answered.
"Damn! The Joker's men planted a bomb inside the bank with the hostages. There's no telling how many people will die if it blows up." Batman/Johnny puts back his device back in his belt and enters the bank.
Batman/Johnny eventually found an entrance to the bank and grappled up on top of a gargoyle to maintain his position. He saw the defenseless hostages on the ground with two armed men guarding them on the ground. 6 Snipers can be also spotted on the high grounds making sure the hostages wouldn't do anything clever.
"Snipers everywhere. I should take them all down silently before saving the hostages." Batman/Johnny silently dropped down on the ground and performed silent takedowns at the 6 snipers one by one.
After talking down all the snippers, Batman/Johnny threw two batarangs at the remaining thugs and fell them on the floor and performed ground takedowns to knock them unconscious.
Batman/Johnny turns around seeing the hostages safe and a big purple box with a green ribbon on top and a letter attached that says:
Don't open until Bats
gets here! HAHAHAHAHA!
- Your Best ENEMY!
Batman/Johnny already guessed it was the Joker's bomb hidden inside the box.
"Please don't hurt us!" One of the hostages said in fear.
"I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to help." Batman/Johnny said trying to calm the hostages down even though he's voice modulator/changer is still active.
"Okay. These men... they planted a bomb and said they'll detonate it if the police shows up." The hostage said now relaxed.
"I'll take it from here. Head out to the police once I'm done defusing the bomb. You'll be much safer with them." Batman/Johnny said.
"Thank you. We won't forget what you've done for us." The hostages thanked Batman/Johnny as their hero and headed out to the police safely. Batman/Johnny opened the purple box revealing The Joker's bomb.
"There's the bomb that Joker's men mentioned. I could use my Cryptographic Sequencer to disarm it before it blows up the whole building." Batman/Johnny quickly grabbed his Cryptographic Sequencer again to disarm the bomb.
Before he could even start hacking, the time was set into 21 seconds. Without waisting time, Batman/Johnny tried to find the passcode to defuse the bomb. After 17 seconds, Batman/Johnny finally cracked the code as the timer stopped.
The bomb made a celebration noise and released a few colorful paper confettis for Batman/Johnny' certain achievement. Something was telling him that this wasn't the hardest part of the mission yet.
"HAHAHAHAHA! Oh it's me again, Batsy! I told you I would see you again soon." The Joker shouted throughout the speakers in the bank. "Just here for a quick friendly reminder for my boys. Now if you all want to get your bonus tonight, what are you going to do?"
"Bring you the bat!" The goons shouted throughout the speaker.
"Very good. But how do I want the bat to be delivered? alive or dead?" The Joker asked his goons.
"ALIVE!" The goons answered.
"That's right! Dear old uncle J has a very good surprise for you children if you bring me the bat." The Joker laughed ending the conversation throughout the speaker.
"What are you planning, Joker?" Batman/Johnny asked himself as he clenched his teeth in anger.
The silence broke when a man in a jet pack pack quickly flew in the room releasing a sinister laugh. The man was armed with a flamethrower and was wearing a full-body flame-retardant suit and a mask with yellow eye lenses with antennas on the ears.
"So you're the legendary Bat-Man. Well not legendary anymore before I melt you to the ground." The man in a jet pack said.
"Who are you?!" Batman/Johnny demanded.
"FIREFLY! That's last name you'll remember once I turned you in to the Joker!" Firefly answered as more of the Joker's men came in to finish the bat. "Get your asses over here boys so we can get our sweet reward!"
As always, Batman/Johnny would easily beats down the Joker thugs even though he was just one man with a gifted combat skills.
Meanwhile, Firefly was still flying in midair watching Batman/Johnny on the ground beating up the Joker's thugs one by one.
"Watch out, Batman!" Firefly laughed as he grabbed some explosives from his pockets and throws them on the ground hoping it would defeat Batman/Johnny and help the thugs.
Batman/Johnny would easily evade the small explosive on the floor and it would eventually knock out the other thugs unconscious. Firefly gets irritated after watching Batman/Johnny finishing off the last of Joker's thugs.
"Alright then, Batman. You wanna play? Fine! Then let's play with FIRE!" Firefly fired his flamethrower rifle at Batman/Johnny on the ground but he quickly dodged it.
"That's enough! Now you're going to tell me where the Joker is or I'm going to give the beating you deserve to get the answers, it's your choice!" Batman/Johnny threatened while giving Firefly one chance to surrender himself easily.
"Aww, don't be mad, Batman. I just wanna melt that stupid face of yours." Firefly mocked as fired his flamethrower at Batman/Johnny for the second time but he evaded it again.
"MELTING! HIS MELTING!" Firefly threw countless explosives on the ground cornering Batman/Johnny. The fire was raging and it was all coming closer to Batman/Johnny. "So, Batman. This is how it ends!" Firefly watched Batman/Johnny getting cornered by the fire thinking there was no escape for him.
"Now's my chance. I should grapple on to Firefly but it's the risk I'll have to take." Batman/Johnny said as he grabbed his grappling gun from his leg hostler and fired it around Firefly's leg to escape the fire.
"Wait, What are you doing?! Get off me!" Firefly flew around the bank while pulling Batman/Johnny behind him to escape the fire. Batman/Johnny held his grappling gun with the rope that wrapped around Firefly's leg tightly as they smashed the window leading the fight outside the bank.
They flew around the village rapidly hoping Batman/Johnny would let go of Firefly. The humans on the streets were startled when they saw a man in a jet pack and flamethrower flying around above them. What they were most surprised is seeing The Batman for the very first time.
"Take this, bat-freak!" Firefly was about to fire his flamethrower at Batman/Johnny but he quickly threw a Batarang right at Firefly's flamethrower making him miss his aim. Batman/Johnny pressed a button on his grappling gun zipping him closer to Firefly and positioned himself behind his back.
Now that Batman/Johnny was riding behind Firefly's back, he quickly punched the villain's jet pack so hard and pulled out a bunch of wires and parts from Firefly's jet pack.
"No! You're going to kill us both! STOP!" Firefly yelled. Both of them were slowly falling down but they landed on a rooftop with Firefly landing on his back with Batman/Johnny. Firefly groaned in pain but his jet pack was able to protect his back.
"WHERE'S THE JOKER!?" Batman/Johnny grabbed Firefly by his collar for another interrogation.
"Might as well finish me off, Batman. I ain't telling you nothing." Firefly replied.
"Wrong answer!" Batman/Johnny punched Firefly on the face smashing his left lens revealing a portion of his burnt skin. "Tell me where he is before I look for the answers from the inside!"
"He's having a weapons deal with the little man calling himself The Penguin at a night club. The money from the bank was the payment for those weapons. But you'll never get to the Joker in time." Firefly answered chuckling.
"I didn't asked for your opinion!" Batman/Johnny said.
A couple of minutes later. The police found Firefly hanging on a light pole upside down without his jet pack and flamethrower. Firefly was now taken into police custody and identified him as Garfield Lynns.
Meanwhile back at the Hotel...
Most of the Loughrans are in their respective rooms resting while Melly was in Mavis' room continuing their girl-talk. Melly then found a book on top a small table.
"Hey Mavis, what's that?" Melly asked as she pointed the book.
"Oh, it was a birthday present from my mom." Mavis answered as she gave Melly the book. Melly opened the book and was surprised the age of the young vampire.
"Whoa! So you're really 118th years-old?" Melly asked surprisingly.
"Yeah. We vampires age really slow actually." Mavis explained as she smiled.
"So how old is your father?" Melly asked.
"He's 535." Mavis answered while Melly's eyes widened in surprise at the ancient vampire's age. "Is this how your parents met?" Melly asked after reading the story of how Mavis' parents met and zinged.
"Yeah. They accidentally crashed into each other back at Haweewee and zinged." Mavis answered.
"Zinged?" Melly asked confusingly.
"It's love at first sight for monsters. It's also how your brother and I met." Mavis giggled.
"Aww, that's sweet." Melly said in a lovely tone. Starring at the book. Mavis frowned in sadness remembering her mother. Melly noticed a small tear escaped from Mavis' eye. "Mavis, what's wrong?"
"Oh it's nothing." Mavis replied as she wiped off the tear from her eye then gently took the book back. "Looking it back, makes me miss my mom. She died when I was only an infant. She was killed by angry humans and I didn't get to know her a lot. It was just me and dad growing up. He built this hotel to protect me and the rest of the monsters out there."
"Oh Mavis, I'm terribly sorry... I didn't mean to..." Melly said in guilt but Mavis cut her off.
"It's alright, Melly. You didn't know." Mavis replied kindly. "I just wish she was here to meet you guys."
Melly also let a small tear come out knowing the pain that her future sister-in-law has gone through. It also reminded her of her parents.
"You're not the only one who's lost someone." Melly confessed while Mavis had no idea what she was talking about. "The real reason why our parents couldn't make it today is because they died when we were very young."
It was Mavis' turn who became in shocked as she widened her eyes. She didn't know that Melly experienced the same pain as she did.
"I'm so sorry to hear that, Melly." Mavis said trying to comfort her.
"They died the night on Johnny's 8th birthday. We were at the house preparing a surprise party for him while mom and dad took Johnny to the movies. We waited for them to come back until to we got phone call telling us... they were murdered." Melly sobbed in tears. "It was hard for all of us, especially Johnny because he watched it all happen."
Mavis gave Melly a hug to cheer her up, which Melly accepted. Mavis learned why Johnny didn't want to talk about their parents that much.
"The important thing is that we're all here together safe and happy." Mavis said smiling.
"You're right." Melly smiled back. "I'm just glad that Johnny found someone that can truly makes him happy. Welcome to the family, sis."
"Thank you so much!" Mavis smiled exposing her fangs and hugged her future sister-in-law again.
"You're welcome." Melly replied returning the hug.
After a couple of minutes, Melly went back to her room to get some rest while Mavis was about to sleep until she heard a knock on the door.
"Come in!" Mavis said and was surprised to see Dracula entering her room. "Dad! What are you doing here?"
"I'm just here to say goodnight to my little baby girl. That's all." Dracula explained smiling at his daughter. Mavis gave a weak smile at Dracula. His father instincts tells him that something was bothering her. "Mavis, is everything okay?"
"Oh it's nothing." Mavis replied but then frowned into sadness. "I'm just thinking about mom that's all. I wish she was here with us right now."
Dracula was hurt hearing those words. It saddens him seeing Mavis missing her mother. He gave Mavis a caring hug to cheer her up.
"Oh my poor honey bat. I also wished your mother was here with us as well so that she can see the woman you've become. Your mother always wanted for you is to find your zing and to be happy. I also promised her that I will always protect you." Dracula smiled still hugging Mavis.
"Thanks, dad." Mavis smiled hugging her father back.
"Come on. It's time for you to sleep." Dracula helped Mavis to put her blanket on and began singing the lullaby he used to sang when she was little.
Suffer suffer suffer scream in pain
Blood is spilling from your brain.
"Daddy." Mavis groaned, smiling.
"Come on. It always helps you to sleep when you were little." Dracula said and continued singing the lullaby.
Zombies gnaw you like a plum
Piercing cries and you succumb.
Suffer, suffer scream in pain
You will never breathe again.
The next thing he knew is that Mavis was now asleep but she still had a smile on her face. Dracula smiled at how peaceful his daughter was sleeping like a little princess.
"Goodnight, my little Mavy wavy." Dracula whispered he gave a goodnight kiss to Mavis on the forehead and quietly exit her room.
Back at the Village...
Batman/Johnny was on top of a rooftop looking down menacingly at the nightclub that was closed for the night, where The Joker is making a deal with someone named The Penguin.
"The Penguin, he owns a nightclub here in town. Closed for the night to make his weapons deal with The Joker. I'll put them both behind bars tonight." Batman/Johnny thought in his head as he glides down to the nightclub.
Inside the Nightclub...
The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot was inside his office while his armed men was waiting outside for The Joker. The Penguin's appearance has a small height and fat with a pointy nose wearing a monocle and a hat.
"Hey, boss. That clown freak is here." His henchmen notified as he entered The Penguin's office.
"Oh, bloody hell. Why did I ever made that deal with that..." The Penguin said regretting to make deals with that psychotic clown despite how much money he'll get tonight.
"DING DONG! The clown prince of chaos has arrived! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" The Joker and own his armed men entered the nightclub with sacks of money. "Nice place you guys have here." The Joker said as he looked around the nightclub.
"You again!" The Penguin shouted holding his umbrella as a cane. His armed men also followed making sure the Joker didn't do anything 'smart'.
"Ah, Cobblepot. My little Penguin." The Joker teased while Penguin clenched his teeth in anger.
"You better watch that tone of yours, clown! I don't like it." The Penguin warned.
"Blah blah blah, whatever you say." The Joker mocked while lazily waved his hand. "Now, where are my wonderful toys?"
"Yeah you'll get those bloody weapons alright." The Penguin said in annoyance as his men carried a large box containing the weapons.
"Sounds like Christmas came in early, boys!" The Joker squealed in excitement as he quickly grabbed of the guns from the box.
Meanwhile, Batman/Johnny was at a high vantage point inside the nightclub watching the interaction between The Joker and Penguin. He was mostly shocked to see the dangerous weapons that The Joker received. Batman/Johnny couldn't imagine what the Joker would do with those guns.
"Too many weapons! There's no way I'm letting the Joker and his men get away with those guns. The Penguin is also going down tonight!" Batman/Johnny promised.
"Not so fast, clown! You got your bloody guns now where's the payment." Penguin exclaimed harshly.
"Oh yeah. Almost forgot." The Joker said as he snaps his fingers. The Joker goons handed over the sack of money to the Penguin's men. The Penguin quickly counted the money but notices that the payment was not enough as the Joker promised.
"Oi! This money is too short! Where's the rest of it?! This wasn't part of the bloody deal, clown!" Penguin shouted as his men pointed their guns at the Joker while the Joker's crew pointed their own guns at the Penguin's.
"None of you are getting anything tonight!" Batman/Johnny glides down and took down some of Penguin's men alerting the Penguin himself and The Joker.
"Batsy! You're here! HAHAHAHAHA!" The Joker laughed menacingly while happy to see Batman again.
"The Bat?! He... he wasn't supposed to be real!" The Penguin nervously said while his men did nothing but stared at the vigilante beating up their comrades. "What am I paying you idiots for?! Shoot that bloody creature!" Penguin angrily shouted while his henchmen fired their guns at Batman/Johnny.
After beating up some of Penguin's men up. Batman/Johnny quickly evaded the bullets and hide behind a nearby cover. Batman/Johnny grabbed 3 smoke pellets and threw right at them. Both the Penguin and Joker's men coughed and didn't know where they were going because of the smoke covering their sights.
Batman/Johnny took down countless of Penguin and Joker thugs throughout the smoke but he failed to noticed that someone threw a small wooden chair behind him. Batman/Johnny fell on the ground and groaned in pain while he saw the Joker standing behind him laughing as he was about to beat him up with a cane.
The Joker was about to hit Batman/Johnny with his cane but Batman/Johnny was fast enough to use his left hand to grab the cane and used his right hand to punch The Joker right on the face multiple times and kicked him away at the opposite direction with his back landing on the floor.
"HAHAHAHAHA! That's what I like about you, Bats! You LOVE the way it feels! HAHAHAHAHA!" The Joker laughed while kicking the floor rapidly.
"It's over, Joker! Give up!" Batman/Johnny angrily said while standing up.
Batman/Johnny quickly noticed the thugs firing their guns right at him. Batman/Johnny evaded the bullets and threw Batarangs at their hands dropping their guns. This gave Batman/Johnny the opportunity to beat up the unarmed goons while The Joker stood up and ordered his goons to grab the weapons and money as they headed for their escape.
Batman/Johnny quickly chased The Joker and his men but one of them fired their guns at a chandelier on top of them. Batman/Johnny noticed the chandelier above him was falling on top of him so he evaded at the opposite direction. The chandelier crashed to the ground between Batman/Johnny and the Joker, who now has the chance to escape with the weapons.
"Better luck next time, Bats. HAHAHAHAHA!" The Joker and his men quickly escaped the nightclub with the weapons and money for themselves since the deal went south.
"JOKER!" Batman/Johnny yelled in anger trying to chase the Joker again but someone yelled at him behind.
"You're not going anywhere you creep vigilante! I'm gonna put your bloody head in my office as a trophy!" The Penguin shouted as he hold his umbrella like a gun pointing at Batman/Johnny.
The very tip of the umbrella fired bullets like an actual gun while Batman/Johnny evaded again to avoid the bullets. He was surprised that The Penguin's umbrella was like an actual gun. While Penguin was reloading his umbrella gun, Batman/Johnny ran closer to The Penguin and grabbed his umbrella gun away from his hands. Batman/Johnny grabbed Penguin on the neck with one hand as his foot was beyond the floor.
"Let go of me you... (*coughs) ...you pointed ear freak!" Penguin protested as he struggled from Batman/Johnny's grip.
"Your reign of crime is over, Penguin! I'll make sure you'll spend the rest of your life behind bars." Batman/Johnny stated with his voice modulator/changer.
"Oh so that what's gonna be, huh? Well mock my words, Batman. When I get out of jail, I'm gonna hunt you down like a bloody dirty animal! You hear me!" The Penguin threatened.
"Good luck with that." Batman/Johnny punched the Penguin in the face knocking him out and tied him up with the rest of his henchmen.
After he finished his task, Batman/Johnny heard police sirens outside the nightclub.
"Time for me to leave, but the Joker got away again along with the weapons. Damn!" Batman/Johnny grappled up to leave the building before the police breached in.
