Mamma Mia.

Tuesday, August 1th

Mello pushed open the door into the SPW-Foundation's warehouse. A heavy metal song blasted out from a nearby room and Mello could smell something burning. He threw the supermarket bags to the side and ran into the room where Shizuka was training.

When he entered Shizuka pointed towards a beach chair in the middle of the empty room. "Please, take a seat." Mello was confused, but sat down. Then Shizuka pointed towards the sky and shouted "Achtung! Show him your new strength.

Achtung Baby appeared and sand seemingly burst out of its body. In just the blink of an eye a beautiful beach had built up around Mello, complete with ocean view and cocktail. He tried sipping the cocktail, and it reacted like real fluid, but without the taste. "I have perfected Achtung's illusions! It can now create many hundreds, reactive, realistic illusions all at my command!" Shizuka stood still and awaited the applause.

Mello clapped, fascinated by the illusion. Shizuka went and pulled out a pack of bacon from the bags and placed it on the floor. Achtung appeared once more, and pointed at the pack.

The light around it's finger started distorting, and Achtungs hand started to glow intensely. Then the light was released into a focused laser beam, and the bacon was cooked in a flash. Achtung lifted the pieces into Shizuka's mouth. "I am very impressed. I presume that the ability is perfect light control. That's fascinat-" Shizuka hushed him. "Wait! You are unaware of my new, strongest ability. Fashion!"

Achtung created spotlights around itself, showing off the new jewelry around its neck and it's spiky sunglasses. "Truly, a style genius. So, are you following me to a picnic with my mom? You kind of ruined it last time." Mello checked his phone, before nodding. "Okay, I'm down.

While on their way to the bus stop, Shizuka asked "So, did you find anything at the library that could help you improve Bloody Sunday? Not to stress, but we've only got eight days left." Mello shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I haven't been able to find anything. The only new thing I have observed about Sunday is this little flash inside of it when it absorbs pain." Shizuka thought about it while lighting an invisible cigarette."Well, Stand's are based on the user's psyche, so what kind of medicine work do you do?"

Mello answered "Well, in my teenage years I was an assistant physiotherapist." Shizuka giggled. "In your teenage years? Dude, you're nineteen!" "That means I'm an adult, not a teenager." "Yeah, you're a big boy now."

They entered Central Park and followed Suzie's vague directions. They found her relaxing in the shade. "Hey! Mom!" Suzie looked up and waved. "Come over here! I've got a picnic!"
They sat down and started eating. "So, Mello, what's it like to start with such important work at such a young age?" asked Suzie. "It's very hard. I was homeschooled and…" "Oh, homeschooled? When I was a young girl, living in Venice, did I mention I'm Italian? Oh, Shizuka used to say she was so proud to have Italian blood in her veins! Didn't you? Anyway, I had this friend…"

Their conversation continued, as Shizuka showed off Achtungs new abilities to Suzie's praise and admiration. "Amazing! Now you can play any movie you want at any time!" "Mom, movies still require sound."

But their conversation abruptly ended when Suzie screamed "Ah! Something just climbed under my dress! Shizu, check if it's an animal!" Shizuka turned part of the large dress invisible and found a baby having climbed inside. "What the hell? It's a baby! It must have gotten lost while here with its mother."

Achtung pulled it out and held it in its arms. Mello moved close to it, and for the first time since Shizuka had gotten to know him five days ago, he smiled. "Awww, it's so cute! Who is a little angel? Yes, you are, you are a little angel!" He playfully tickled it's foot. It laughed loudly and coarsely. He then turned serious again, and stated "She seems to have been born two weeks to early, weighs 3.5 kg and will have to sit in a wheelchair from 13-22 due to serious ankle deformation." Suzie and Shizuka stood quietly and stared at him, unsure as to what had just happened.

Shizuka shrugged it off and added "And based on it's reaction to Achtung, it's a stand user." That was proven true when a bee flew over and landed on the baby's belly. Before anyone could say anything the bee had grown to be as large as a human head, grabbed the baby with it's bony legs, and escaped away with it.

"Oh, no, my little sugarplum!" said a female voice behind them. They turned around to see a woman in her early forties dressed in a large sunbonnet, presumably the baby's mother. "Not again!" Mello and Shizuka looked at each other, before Mello asked. "Do these kinds of things happen often?" "Oh, yes, excuse us. It runs in the family. My own father has one of those abilities, I think he called it Lord Winered? But we never understood how it worked. But, excuse me, why are you asking?" Mello gestured towards Shizuka. "Your baby has what's called a Stand. We are Stand users as well, you see. Would you mind telling us a bit about your child's abilities?"

The mother shone up. "Oh, how lucky! Of course. Whenever little Agnetha gets interested or scared of something she will turn it large. We've named the ability Mamma Mia. I would be very grateful if you would save her! I can give you some pocket money." She pulled up thirty dollars out of her bag. "Oh no, I do it out of duty, no need for payment." said Mello while Shizuka had already grabbed the bills.

They then set about helping the baby. The bee was high up in the air and trying to get used to it's sudden change of size, while the baby desperately held onto it's fur. "Got an idea!" said Shizuka, and created the illusion of a huge, colorful flower. The bee immediately took notice and flew towards it. The moment it was within range, Achtung flew up, grabbed the baby and returned it to it's mother. "Oh, very clever, Shizu! Aren't you glad I helped you with that biology homework now?" shouted Suzie.

But Mello noticed a moment too late that the baby had ripped off some of the bee's fur, to it's dismay. The bee turned around and dove towards Shizuka to impale her with it's stinger. "Look out!" screamed Mello and threw his Sunday's towards the bee. The pain surprised it and spun, knocking over the mother, who dropped her baby.

All three of them looked on in despair as the baby moved mercilessly towards the ground.. The baby itself was late to realize what was happening, but when it did, it's Stand appeared.. It looked simple, a blue teddy bear with white stripes; it wore a plastic helmet and had a cute arm cannon.

Mello jumped to save it, but as he did, the stand fired a white laser out of it's arm cannon. It hit the grass right under both of them. While he was still in the air, the blades of grass under him grew so fast he was pushed to the side. The baby had more luck, landing on top of the blades and gliding down safely.

And worry they would. The baby found the ride down the blade of grass to be incredibly entertaining, so Mamma Mia blasted out it's lasers all over the lawn. Shizuka turned around to see an looming, impenetrable forest of grass. Finding the child would be to put it simply, impossible. The baby's mother fell to her knees. "Oh, no! I knew I should have let him sleep out his afternoon nap! Now there" Mello loudly cleared his throat.

"Please, do not fault yourself. Your child is unaware of what it is doing, but we have the situation under control. I beg of you to trust me. Now, what is your name?" Mello's air of professionalism and confidence calmed the mother, and she answered "Gloria." Mello then turned to Shizuka and said "Create illusions of Gloria hovering over the grass, to draw the baby's attention. Then, whichever one turns big will reveal the baby's location." Shizuka nodded and went to work.

Achtung flew up in the air and spread the illusions over the grass forest. They all waited intensely as the illusions searched. Eventually one right around the middle of the forest grew to giant size. "Hell yeah, there it is!" shouted Shizuka, unaware of the plan's big flaw. The illusion grew so massive that it took up the entire lawn. "Stop it! My girl is gonna get sick of so much light!" Shizuka immediately recalled the illusion.

Both Mello and Gloria started getting more and more stressed, but just then Shizuka came up with a brilliant idea. Achtung snapped it's fingers and sent out nearly a hundred small mirrors over the grass. "If we can see from up above, we would probably be able to find it in a flash!" Mello, Suzie and Gloria were all slow on the uptake, but Shizuka's plan quickly revealed itself.

The baby found the strange mirrors fascinating, so Mamma Mia sent out a laser beam towards one of them. It immediately started bouncing back and forth between another mirror. With careful changes made by Shizuka, the laser beam was reflected over to them, where it hit Gloria. Before she had time to comment, she had grown fifty times her size, and looked out over the sea of grass.
