Welcome to the second chapter of Total Drama: Running Time! Last time we saw our 8 contestants kidnapped and confused as they were forced to compete in the 100th Running Man Championship. Now is the time to see who wins the opening game and what they get. It's time for the next chapter Total Drama: Running Time!
We see Mike walking towards a panel in front of a grand gate. He was holding what his aura had materialized into, electric batons.
"You have arrived at the path of choice." A robot announced.
"Well, this is some door here." Mike admired the looks of the gate before him.
He presses the button and a randomizer pops up.
"I bet Cameron would like to have a look at this." Mike smiled thinking of his friends.
The randomizer stops at a hologram of a sphere attracting metal.
"You have chosen the Path of the Magnet." The robot announced the name of the path.
"Wait, I wonder if the others might be affected by this path." Mike thought to himself.
The gates of the Path of the Magnet began to open.
"The magnetic field will be active up to less than a mile away." The robot explains what might happen.
Mike's batons began to be pulled in a bit. He sees that the inside was a tunnel covered in red and black magnets.
"Less than a mile?" Mike thought a bit.
A sonic boom was released from the gate.
Heather was seen walking with her staff. She sees the incoming boom
"What the?!" Heather was surprised by what was coming at her.
She tries to brace herself from the impact, but when the blast passes her, she feels her staff getting pulled.
"Hey! What the heck?!" Heather exclaimed as her staff was pulled, her along with it. "Whoa!" Heather yelled as she flew down the walkways, taking twists and turns.
Mike was seen walking into the Path of the Magnet.
"This looks so cool!" He yelled in admiration.
"Look out!" Heather was heard behind him.
He looked back and saw Heather flying at high speed towards him.
"Aaaaaaghh!" Mike yelled as he ducked.
"Waaaauughh!" Heather says as she faceplants into the floor.
"Well, can't say I didn't see that coming." Mike remarks at what happened. "Well, I'm off." He says as he walks down the Path of the Magnet.
"Ugh…" Heather groans from the pain.
We then switch to Owen crawling in the Path of Ice, trying not to slip.
"Oh man! This is worse than the Yukon!" Owen exclaimed from the extreme cold.
"Hey Owen!" Kitty's voice was heard behind him.
Owen turns around and sees Kitty sliding on the floor on her stomach heading towards him.
"Hey!" Owen smiled seeing his friend.
Kitty then grabbed a handhold to stop herself from slipping too far.
"So, what did you get from the mystery box?" Kitty asked what her friend got.
"Oh, I got these rocket boots. What a coincidence." Owen states that it was a coincidence that he got rocket boots.
"Nice, I got this sweet arm cannon!" Kitty smiles to show her friend her weapon.
"Wow!" Owen exclaimed in awe. "So, how are we gonna go through this path?" He asks a simple question.
"How about we use your rocket boots?" Kitty suggests something weird.
"Say what now?" Owen was confused by the suggestion.
"I climb on your back while you get propelled by your rocket boots." Kitty explains her plan.
"You remind me of Izzy." Owen states out.
"Let's go!" Kitty yelled forward.
Kitty climbs up on Owen's back and Owen propels himself forward.
"Whoo!" They both yelled in excitement.
We then see Carrie, Duncan, Shawn and MacArthur in front of another path of choice.
"Do you think we should take this one?" Carrie asks nervously. "I think this might be worse than the other two." She states what might happen.
"What can be worse than the Path of Ice or the Path of the Magnet?" Duncan asked sarcastically on what might be worse.
"I can think of several things worse, mostly zombie related." Shawn said in worry.
"Just slow your horses, let's just press the button and see what path we take." MacArthur said without worry of the situation.
Duncan presses the button and the randomizer pops up.
The randomizer stops at a hologram of a sphere with holes.
"You have chosen the Path of Holes." The robot announces.
"Hmm, doesn't sound so bad." MacArthur smirks knowing it's safe.
"Let's see inside, shall we?" Shawn says eagerly.
The gates open up to show the path made of metal and is filled with a lot of holes.
"Wow. POV cheese grater." Duncan remarks at the sight of the path.
"Well, this looks safe enough. Let's go!" MacArthur yelled, causing the others to run into the path.
We then see Kitty sledding on Owen as both of them fly through the Path of Ice.
"This is pretty fun!" Kitty exclaimed from the thrill.
"Yeah, but are you worried about what might happen next?" Owen asked something concerning.
"What do you mean?" Kitty asked, confused by the statement.
"Well, you got an arm cannon, does that mean we are gonna have to fight?" Owen tries to put it as best as he can.
"Now that I think about it, you make a good point." Kitty said what she thought.
"Do you think we should train with our weapons?" Owen thinks they would have to train.
"Yeah, probably if we get to keep these." Kitty agrees to what he was saying.
"By the way, what's with that weird bracelet?" Owen eyed on the metal bracelet Kitty was wearing.
"Well, since we're close friends, I have a secret to share." Kitty then spoke about it.
We then see the group of the Path of Holes walking.
"So, how about some target practice?" MacArthur suggests some shooting.
"What exactly are we supposed to practice with?" Duncan asked for what to shoot at.
"And not to mention you are the only one with a firearm." Shawn points out that MacArthur has the only gun.
"I'm not the only one, you technically have one Shawn." MacArthur states that since technically Shawn's grappling hook can shoot, it's a gun.
"I'm not sure this thing would do damage." Shawn points out a flaw in her idea.
"Sure it does, you just grapple your enemy and pull them down." MacArthur gives some advice.
"Wow, great. Teaching your enemy how to use their weapon. I'm sure that will turn out well." Duncan sarcastically remarks on what they were doing.
"Yeah, I'm not sure that's a good idea." Carrie stated in that what they're doing is dumb.
"What? I just want to have a bit of a challenge in the future." MacArthur points out she wants to be challenged.
"Well, if you want something to shoot at, try Carrie's extra arms." Duncan suggested what to shoot.
"Wait, what?" Carrie exclaimed in confusion.
"Just think. She may control them, but can't feel what happens to them." Duncan was sarcastically giving a point.
"Eh, works for me." MacArthur took aim at Carrie's extra arms.
"Wait! That was just a joke!" Duncan tried to stop the fire.
"Agh!" Carrie yelps as the bullet hits her extra arm, popping a bit of smoke.
"What the heck!" Shawn was shocked by what she did.
"Um. Wow. That didn't hurt." Carrie quickly recovered from the shot.
"Wait, how do we know that doesn't actually hurt?" MacArthur wonders of the damage of her gun.
"Like this." Shawn then takes the gun and shoots MacArthur in the stomach with it.
"Oooff!" MacArthur cringed from the pain. "Yeah, I deserved that."
"Let's just agree to fight when the game needs us to fight, agreed?" Duncan says that they have to put off the fighting for a while.
"Yup!" Everyone else agrees.
We then see Mike and Heather running through the Path of the Magnet.
"Wait, how are we expecting to get our weapons out of this path?" Mike asks how they are going to keep their weapons.
"Well, there will probably be a failsafe, unlike what Chris does." Heather tries not to think of it too much.
"Yeah, I think so." Mike agrees to what she says
"I think we were both expecting someone back there. I was expecting Alejandro and you must be expecting Zoey." Heather tries to bring up a conversation.
"Of course I am." Mike smiles in agreement.
"Do you think they're okay not knowing where they are?" Heather worries about their friends from home.
"Well, knowing them, they might start a full on adventure to find us." Mike tries to think of what the others might do.
"How do you know that?" Heather was confused by the statement.
"I just have a feeling about it." Mike tries to hope for the best
"Well, you do you. I'm gonna try and win this game." Heather geared into competitive mode.
"Let's go!" Mike yelled in excitement.
We then see a gigantic R-marked platform in the center of the arena with multiple smaller platforms around it. The area is covered by a white dome so they can't see the spectators.
"You have entered the third leg of the race! You must plant your flag on the R point in order to win!" The robot announces.
Everyone runs out of their respective paths.
Kitty and Owen touch down on the floor.
"Okay, I'll leave you to yourself now." Kitty said before running.
"Wait! What will I do?" Owen asks in panic.
"You have rocket boots!" Kitty points out an advantage Owen has.
"Oh yeah right." Owen laughs in forgetting about it.
We then see Heather jumping from platform to platform.
"This is getting pretty tense right now!" She exclaimed.
A clamping noise was heard next to her. She turns around and sees Shawn pulling himself up with his hook arm.
"Oh no you don't!" Heather then jumps onto the rope and begins climbing.
Mike was nearby when he saw it.
"Wait! The rope might not support the both of us!" He warns Heather of the danger.
"How do you know that?!" Heather asks rhetorically.
The rope then snaps, making both of them fall.
We then see MacArthur and Kitty in a standoff with their weapons out.
"Don't think I don't remember what you did in Las Vegas!" Kitty yells.
"Keep calm, I just want to see if you can handle two bullets on your shoulders." MacArthur shrugged off the statement.
"How about you handle two of my bullets!" Kitty challenged her.
"Oh it's on!" MacArthur smirked menacingly.
They both shoot their weapons. But Duncan jumped in between them and got hit.
"Aaagghh!" He yelped as he crashed into a platform.
"Are you okay?" Kitty asked, concerned.
"Nnggghhh." Duncan groaned from the pain.
"Eh, good enough for me." MacArthur then shoots Kitty.
"Agh!" Kitty yelped as she collapsed.
MacArthur then continued upwards.
Carrie and Mike were seen jumping on platforms and thinking of paths to take.
"This is starting to get a little bit complicated." Carrie was worried about this leg of the race.
"Well, the others might have an advantage in this part. But we might have one later on." Mike tries to think positively.
"We probably might get new weapons after this match." Carrie thinks of a strategy.
"Aaaaaghh!" MacArthur lands on a platform in pain.
"I'm going to win this game!" Heather yelled from above.
"Okay, we can't win this!" Carrie exclaimed in worry.
"Woohoo!" Owen was heard boosting from platform to platform.
Owen boosted high above the stadium and eyes the big R-marked platform.
"So that's the R-point." Owen figured out that it was the R-point.
Heather was seen again nearing the R-point.
"Okay! Almost there!" She smirks in thinking she will win.
She then looks up and spots Owen plummeting towards the R-point.
"Yaaaaaah!" Owen let out a battle cry.
"Yaaaaaah!" Heather also let out a battle cry.
They both reached the R-point and planted their flags at seemingly the same time.
"The game is over!" The robot announced.
"What the?!" MacArthur exclaimed when he heard it.
"Let's see who won." Kitty accepts her defeat.
"The winner of the Opening Game is…" The robot pauses for suspense. "Heather!"
"Oh yeah!" Heather pridefully celebrated.
"Good job Heather!" Owen congratulated Heather for winning.
"Well, this is the opening game, let's see how the rest of the game turns out." Duncan was unfazed when he heard it.
Suddenly, the dome around the arena disappeared. It reveals a whole lot of spectators clad in silk wear.
"Well well well. The recognition I deserve." Heather smirks at the sight of the spectators.
"Aw yeah! This looks nice!" Mike exclaims in awe.
"Congratulations on the opening game, contestants!" A robot congratulated the contestants.
"Wait, should we be called something to know our status in the competition?" Shawn asked what they would be called.
"We have already set a title for you, Running Men." The robot states that their title is the Running Men.
Okay, this chapter was fast paced. Now Heather has won the opening game. But there are still more challenges these Running Men have to compete in.
Until then, Adios!
