Time for the 5th chapter dudes! Last time we saw how the rest of the ex-contestants find out about the competition and what they do about it. As for our Running Men? They are going to play the first round of the 100th Running Man Championship! What will happen? Well, find out in the next chapter of Total Drama: Running Time!
We see the Running Men on their platforms looking around the stadium as they audience cheers loudly. But for some reason, Heather wasn't there.
"Well, I hope this game is going to be fun and fair. Right guys?" Kitty said enthusiastically.
"Try saying that to Heather without being snarked at." Duncan said, knowing the girl doesn't try and play fair.
"Um, Duncan? She's not here." Mike states the problem of what he said.
"Yeah, I know." Duncan states.
"Should we be worried that she isn't here?" Carrie was concerned.
"Relax, she won the opening game, maybe she's getting a prize or something." Duncan shrugs the worry off.
Suddenly, a robot appeared infront of them.
"Welcome members of the audience and our Running Man contestants. Now is the time to begin the first round of the Running Man Championship!" It annouces the beginning of the first match.
The arena lights up to manifest into a giant tower.
-Arena Name: The War Tower-
4 Total Floors
A holographic screen then appears in front of each of the contestants.
"The game is called The Bell Hunter!" The robot announces the name of the game.
"Since Heather won the opening game, she has hidden 8 marbles around the tower and become the Hunter. The Prey must find the hidden marbles." A female voice explains the rules. "Whoever finds the most marbles before 30 minutes passes becomes the winner. But if the Hunter takes out all of the Prey, the Hunter wins. The Hunter will be kept in the Hunter House in the first floor for 5 minutes, and once the five minutes have elapsed, the Hunter is released."
"Pfff, big deal, it's 7 against 1." Duncan smiled in confidence.
"One more thing, because Heather won the opening game, she has been given a prize that would or would not turn the tides against you, but she is wearing a necklace of bells around her neck, so you'll know if she's coming." The robot added another note.
"Well, if I have a challenge, so be it." MacArthur smiled in thinking she would get a challenge.
"It's Running Time!" The robot yelled.
All of their platforms go up to different floors of the tower.
-Location: 4th Floor: Hall of Weapons-
Mike, Shawn and MacArthur were seen walking inside a gigantic circular room. There were statues and depictions of different soldiers and warriors from different eras of time.
"Each floor has a special item you can use. The hint to finding the item in this floor is 'Balance'." A female voice gives the hint to the special item.
"Hm, how do you guys want to play this?" MacArthur asked the other two.
"Do you think we should split up?" Mike asked if they should seperate.
"Yeah, we should do that." Shawn agrees to the plan.
"Okay, Mike goes to the Modern era. Shawn, you go to the Middle Ages era. And I'll go in the BC era." MacArthur tells them which way to go.
They split up, hoping to find something good.
-Location: 3rd Floor: Hall of Emotion-
Kitty and Carrie were seen in a circlular room with statues of people expressing different emotions ranging from fury to lustful to glee. Right now, they were stanked onto each other, trying to find marbles.
"Do you see anything?" Kitty asked from the bottom of the stack.
"I'm not sure, let's keep moving." Carrie said from the top of the stack.
Kitty tried to walk while not making her friend fall.
"Well, I don't see some anywhere." Carrie comes to a conclusion.
"How about let's go down a floor." Kitty suggested.
"Okay." Carrie then jumped down from Kitty's shoulders.
-Location: 2nd Floor: Hall of Life-
We see Duncan and Owen walking around the floor. The middle of the room is a giant pillar patterned to look like a tree trunk.
"Do you find anything?" Owen asked.
"No, look around, we can't find marbles in an open space." Duncan states that they can't find the marble.
"How about let's check a floor down?" Owen suggests going down a floor.
"Are you kidding?" Duncan questioned the suggestion. "That's where the Hunter House is."
"Well, yeah. But if I was Heather, I'd put the marbles near the Hunter House. I'd be much easier to keep us from the marbles." Owen said what he would do if he was the Hunter.
"Wait, maybe that is what Heather would do." Duncan comes to the conclusion.
"Hm, now that I think about it, it does sound like a strategy Heather would make." Owen agrees with what Duncan was saying.
"Come on, let's get the others." Duncan ordered.
"Okay!" Owen followed.
"Warning! The Hunter House is open! The Hunter House is open." An alarm blared across the tower.
We then see Heather wearing a bell necklace inside a lazer cage. The lazers then turned off. Heather took a deep breath.
"It's Running Time." She muttered.
The two run to the stairs to go up. But then they meet with Kitty and Carrie.
"Oh, hi guys, have you found any marbles?" Kitty asks.
"No, but I think I know where to look." Duncan told the others that he knows where to look.
"Should we get the others?" Carrie asks if they would find the others.
"Yeah, I think we should." Duncan agreed.
They begin running up the stairs
-Location: Hall of Weapons-
We see MacArthur looking at a statue of a samurai meditating with a symbol of the yin and yang.
"Pfft, meditating, why do samurais meditating? They're already cool, why ruin it?" MacArthur was questioning the process of meditating.
"Sometimes, samurais or other martial arts masters need meditation to help them focus." Shawn eavesdropped on what MacArthur was saying.
"Well, it's boring." MacArthur states her opinion on meditating.
"But it helps with the mind and spirit to balance the yin and yang." Shawn talks about meditation.
"Wait, balance?" MacArthur thought a bit, then widened her eyes.
She reaches her hands around to see if she can find anything.
"What are you doing?" Shawn questions what she's doing.
"The hint said something about like balance, thought about it while you were talking about the ying and yak." MacArthur states that she might have found.
After a moment, MacArthur pulls out a metal ring.
"Hey, what's this? Why is the special item a ring?" MacArthur was confused by the ring.
A robot appeared in front of them.
"You have found a marble detector. Insert this into your watch and you can track down any marbles in your vicinity." The robot explained the special item.
"Okay then." MacArthur then inserted it into her watch.
"No marbles detected." The watch read.
"Well, no marbles on this floor. Let's go down." MacArthur suggests they head down.
Mike then meets up with them.
"Hey, what's that?" He asked in seeing something in MacArthur's watch.
"It's a marble detector." MacArthur explains.
"So have you found anything?" Mike asked.
"No, nothing on this floor." Shawn answered that no marbles are on that floor.
"We're already gonna go a floor down." MacArthur states that they're gonna go down.
"Hey!" Kitty's voice was heard.
They turned to see the rest of the Prey walking into the Hall of Weapons.
"So, you guys find any marbles?" Shawn asked if they had found any marbles.
"No, but I think I know where to look." Duncan states that he knows where they might be. "They would all be on the first floor."
"Really? Why?" Mike asked.
"Just think, a strategist like Heather wouldn't spread the marbles all around. She would probably hide them near where she is now." Duncan explains where he thinks Heather would hide them.
"Wait, you mean the Hunter House?" Kitty asked if that was the case.
"Bingo!" Duncan confirmed.
"Wait, what about Heather? She's got something up her sleeve." Carrie was concerned about what Heather has.
"That's why we all go together." Duncan shrugs off the statement.
"Okay then. HUSTLE!" MacArthur yelled out.
The group then ran towards the stairs.
-Location: 1st Floor: The Memorial of Once Before-
The layout of this floor is a giant circular room with 8 doors leading to 8 rooms with statues of the competitors from last year. Rooms are connected by hallways.
We see the Prey walking down a big hallway with MacArthur leading the way with her marble detector.
"Marble detected, 5 meters ahead." A female voice from the watch tells them about the marble.
MacArthur looks forward and sees a marble with an R-mark.
"Nice." MacArthur smiled.
MacArthur walks towards the marble and picks it up. Then it disappears into her watch.
"Well, this was a good idea." MacArthur said that it was a good idea.
"So, seeing as I'm right, should we split up?" Duncan suggests separating.
"I don't know if that's a good idea." Kitty states her opinion of the idea.
Suddenly, clapping was heard in front of them. They look forward and see Heather leaning on the wall clapping.
"So, you found the first marble." Heather said menacingly.
Everyone takes out their own weapons.
"And you've been told about my prize, huh?" Heather sees that they are getting ready for battle. "Well then, time for the main show."
Suddenly, she pulls out a circular card and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of Energy-
Heather's eyes open up and glow a blue light.
"What the?" Kitty was confused at what they're facing.
"This is my reward for the opening game. Let's see if it can do well." Heather grinned before glowing a blue aura.
She pulls out her staff and runs at them at tremendous speed.
"Scatter!" MacArthur yelled.
Heather pins down Duncan on the floor and places her hand on his shield. After a bit of a glow, Duncan's shield was taken, dropping a metal ring.
"No!" Owen yelled.
Suddenly, a dark portal opened up next to them and a big arm appeared from it, shocking all of them.
"What is that?!" Mike yelled in confusion
The massive arm grabs Duncan by the leg and begins to pull him into the portal.
"Nonononono!" Duncan exclaimed.
Owen tries to help him by pulling him back but to no avail. Owen's hand slipped from Duncan's hand and Duncan was pulled into the portal, the portal closing behind him.
"No!" Owen yelled.
"Duncan out. Duncan out." A female voice announced.
"Oh well, that happened." Heather states.
She then looks around the other Running Men
"Guys, run! Mike and I will handle this!" Kitty ordered the rest to escape.
"Let's go!" MacArthur yelled.
Everyone else began running while Kitty and Mike began fighting Heather.
"Wait a minute." Owen turns around and finds an opportunity.
Owen then jumped on Heather who was distracted.
"Kitty! Do the thing!" Owen yelled out
"Okay, Mike, get out of here!" Kitty told Mike to meet with the others.
"Running!" Mike then ran away from them.
Kitty then placed her hands on Heather's arm and began rubbing.
"Ugh, what's she doing?!" Heather was disgusted by what Kitty was doing.
"That's not your concern." Owen states.
After a couple seconds, Kitty's eyes were marked with purple circles.
-Location: Heather's Memory-
We see Kitty in a subconscious of Heather's mind. A purple plane with circles dotting the area. Kitty moved around in a swimming motion.
"Okay, I'm now in Heather's mind, time to look around." Kitty said to herself.
Kitty swam around the subconscious.
"Marbles, marbles, marbles." She muttered to herself.
She comes across a circle mark showing the POV of Heather hiding the marbles.
"Okay, that's there, the other one is there." Kitty was remembering the locations of the marbles.
But then, she feels a choking pressure around her neck.
"Ack! Ahh!" Kitty was choking a bit.
-Back in Reality-
We see Heather holding Kitty by the neck while Owen was kneeling weakly with a lot of injuries.
The purple marks in Kitty's eyes disappear and she begins chocking.
"I have no idea what you did, but taking your emblem will even it out!" Heather exclaims in annoyance.
Kitty takes out her arm cannon and shoots Heather in the chest. This caused her to drop Kitty and hunch over in pain.
"Ach!" Heather yelled in pain.
"Come on! Let's go!" Kitty prompted Owen to come with her.
"Um, okay!" Owen then got up and ran with her.
They left Heather hunched down in pain.
"So, did you see where she hide some marbles?" Owen asked if she got intel on the marbles.
"I only got the information of two." Kitty explained what she saw.
"That was so cool!" Owen yelled in awe of Kitty's ability.
"Yeah! Woohoo!" Kitty yelled in excitement.
Well then, that's the chapter. We see the Prey have found a marble and see what Heather has up her sleeve. And Kitty displays an ability she's learned from being a Peacekeeper agent. But next time, let's see how the game will turn out.
