And again is the time for the next chapter! Last time, we saw the game Ball Control that I made up on the spot. Again we shall delve into the mysteries of the games and see what's up with the red crystal in this chapter of Total Drama: Running Time!
And Happy New Year to you all!
Aztec 13: It's now time for the introduction of the red crystal.
We see some of the Running Men sitting around in the lounge. Mike was eating a banana, Heather was practicing how to fight with her weapon, Kitty was tapping her bracelet as she saw what her drone was doing, and Duncan was sitting with an ice pack on his forehead. The rest were claiming their prize for the game.
"Well, that was something." Duncan remarked at the chaos of the last match. "Ach, this still hurts." He cringed from the pain of his forehead.
"I thought that someone that strong would take a hit like that." Heather remarked at his injury. "But here you are with an ice pack."
"Just shut up, for once." Duncan complained at the remark. "So, Kitty, any luck with anything?" He then turns to Kitty for answers.
"I don't really see much." Kitty states that she hasn't found anything yet. "I think I need to open the gate in person."
"But, once you get inside, what'll you do?" Mike asked what she'd do once inside.
"Well, either find some items of interest or find a way to go deeper." Kitty states her choices on the matter.
The door to the lounge opens and the rest of the Running Men go through.
"So, did you find anything?" Shawn asked if they had found anything interesting.
"No. I think I need to manually open the gate." Kitty states.
"So, what new Spirits do you guys have?" Duncan asked, curious about their new Spirits.
"We'll show you right now." MacArthur states.
MacArthur takes out her Spirit and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of Lightning-
MacArthur takes out her gun and fires at the wall, sending out shots of electricity. The shots leave a burn mark on the wall. The others looked at this in awe.
"If Sam were here, I think he'd say this gun would be hitscan, or something." Mike states.
"Nice, what else ya got?" Duncan asked.
Shawn takes out his own Spirit and inserts it into his watch.
-Spirit of Ice-
Shawn then places his hand on the floor and two ice javelins manifest next to him. He picks it up and throws them at the wall.
"Cool! Pun intended." Kitty exclaimed in awe.
"What else?" Heather asked.
Owen then takes out his Spirit and inserts it into his watch.
-Spirit of the Bounce-
Owen jumps up and curls into a ball. He then bounces around the room like a ball. He then unintentionally bounces himself towards Heather.
"Ah crap!" Heather yelled in surprise.
Owen crushes Heather and continues bouncing.
"Ugh." Heather groaned in pain.
Owen then gets back upright, looking sheepishly as he realizes what he did.
"Ahaha… sorry." Owen apologized.
"What about you, Carrie?" Kitty asked with curiousity.
"Okay then." Carrie agreed.
Carrie inserts her Spirit into her watch.
-Spirit of Healing-
Carrie walked up to Heather still lying on the floor in pain.
"Okay then." Carrie breathed deeply.
Carrie then rubbed both sets of arms together and placed it on Heather's arm. After a green aura emanated from her arm, she let go. Heather widens her eyes as she feels her body heal.
"So, how do you feel?" Carrie asked how Heather feels.
"A lot better, actually." Heather answered that she feels a lot better. "Thanks."
"Okay then, since you've healed her, can you heal me?" Duncan asked.
"Oh yeah, right." Carrie said.
Carrie walks up to Duncan. She rubs her hand and places it on his arm. After a few seconds, Duncan is healed.
"Wow, that feels good! Thanks!" Duncan smiled in appreciation.
"No problem." Carrie smiled.
"I'm going out now." Kitty states.
Kitty then walks out of the dorms.
"Where is she going?" MacArthur asked, confused by the situation.
"She's going to do the investigation, remember?" Duncan points out what MacArthur has forgotten.
"Oh yeah." MacArthur said.
We then see Scarlett's group on the pillar outpost under Tree City. They were waiting for Kitty to give her some tools.
"So, if you get induced with the red crystal, something bad will happen?" Zoey asked in the middle of a conversation.
"Yep, as I've seen with Scott, the effects include…" Scarlet was explaining until she was interupted.
"Hey look! It's Kitty!" Izzy yelled as she pointed in the air.
The group looked up to see Kitty flyng down to them.
"Hey guys!" Kitty greets them. "So, are we ready for the investigation?"
"Yep, I've got some stuff for you to use." Scarlett confirms.
Scarlett pulls out an earpiece and a camera that can be mounted on the ear. She also takes out some latex gloves and a sachel.
"Use this so we can moniter what you can find." Scarlett explained.
"Okay. But what about the gloves and sachel?" Kitty asked.
"I'll tell you later." Scarlett calmly states.
"Um, okay." Kitty was confused by this statement.
Kitty puts on the earpiece and camera and ascends the pillar to Tree City.
"Why exactly the gloves and sachel?" Eva asked.
"You'll see." Scarlett states. "Come with me."
The group walk back through the portal into the laboratory.
We see Kitty sneaking around the hallway in the inside of Tree City. She looks at the holographic screen of her bracelet.
"Okay, I just need to follow the infrared signature of the drone." Kitty said to herself.
"Hello?" Scarlett's voice was heard from the earpiece.
"Agh!" Kitty yelped from the high volume. "Can you turn the volume down a bit?"
"Oh yeah." Scarlett said as she turns down the volume of the earpiece. "Is this better?" She asked.
"Yeah, much better." Kitty said.
"Good, now find the drones and the gate." Scarlett instructed.
"That's what I'm doing right now." Kitty states.
"Yeah, and I'm keeping you from forgetting." Scarlett points out.
"Okay then." Kitty sighs.
Kitty the runs down the hallway as she uses her bracelet to track down the drones. Eventually, she reaches the gate she was at last time.
"Okay, I've been here last time." Kitty remembers the area. "What now?"
"Wait for it to open and sneak in." Scarlett instructs.
"On it." Kitty smiles.
Kitty then runs behind a statue as the gate opens. Robots then hover out of it, giving Kitty the opportunity to sneak in. She then sees more of the hallway.
"Now I need to reach the drones." Kitty said to herself.
Kitty then runs down the hallway.
"So, mind telling me what you did last year when you were competing?" Kitty then brings up a discussion.
"Hmm, should I?" Scarlett asked, taunting Scott.
"Wait! No! Don't!" Scott tried to stop the conversation before it stops.
"Yeah, I'll tell you what happened." Scarlett agreed to the conversation.
"No!" Scott yelled in annoyance.
"So, who were the other 6 people you competed with?" Kitty asked, kicking off the conversation.
"Well, I can only tell you 3. The others, I can't remember." Scarlett states. "The ones I can remember were Linda, Amir and Martha."
"You forgot about Joel? He was like my brother." Scott adds.
"Oh yeah, right." Scarlett laughed in forgeting.
"So, introduce them to me." Kitty said.
"Well, Linda is a high ranking detective in the Philippines, Martha is a world breaking puzzle solver from Brazil, Amir is a master tactician and commander of the Egyptian army and Joel is the right hand man of a criminal organisation in France." Scarlett lists the people she knew last year.
"Wow, I never thought a thug would be in the same room with an army commander." Kitty states. "But they seem nice. What were they like?"
"They were mostly level headed." Scarlett describes what were they like. "Might I mention that Scott had a crush on Linda?" Scarlett added that piece of embarasing information.
"Hey! You promised not to reveal that to anyone else!" Scoty yelled.
"Did I? I never recalled agreeing to that." Scarlett was taunting some more.
"Ugh, can you please not reveal that to anyone else?" Scott begged not to reveal any embarasing information.
"Okay, okay fine." Scarlett stopped the teasing.
Kitty snickered in hearing this play out.
Kitty then reaches a gate where both drones were waiting. Kitty taps her bracelet to recall her drone.
"Okay, I'm here." Kitty signalled the other group.
"Good." Scarlett said. "My scanners detect the gate requires a 4 digit code to open." She explains what the door needs to open.
Kitty then walks up to a keypad next to the gate.
"Okay, um… 1, 2, 3, 4?" Kitty said as she types the code.
The gate opens up to reveal a room with a computer and multiple crates. On the other side of the room, we see another gate leading deeper into Tree City.
"Seriously? That password worked?" Scarlett was confused by what had happened.
"Yeah, that's literally the first thing I thought of." Kitty states.
"Well next time you won't be so lucky." Scarlett states that she won't get it right next time in the future.
"So, what are these crates supposed to be?" Kitty asked in noticing the many crates lying about.
"Put on your gloves first." Scarlett instructed.
"Um, okay?" Kitty was confused by the instructions.
Kitty then puts on her gloves. She then takes out her sachel.
"What now?" Kitty asked for further instructions.
"So, open the crates. Make sure whatever is inside it doesn't make skin contact." Scarlett instructed.
"Should I be worried about the skin contact part?" Kitty was worried by the statement.
"Just make sure it doesn't touch you." Scarlett calmly suggests.
"Okay then." Kitty said, still worried by it.
Kitty opens up a crate to see thousands of red shards of crystals in the crate. They were slightly glowing.
"Okay, I'm confused." Kitty said, thinking she got worried over nothing.
Some heavy breathing was heard from the other side of the transmission.
"Why do I hear heavy breathing?" Kitty asked.
"Don't worry, it's just Scott having a panic attack." Scarlett calmly explains.
"Is he having a panic attack because of the crystals?" Kitty asked.
"Yes." Scarlett answered.
"Why exactly?" Kitty asked.
"The crystals did something to him before." Scarlett said. "Place some in your sack. I'll continue later."
"Okay then." Kitty agreed.
Kitty then began collecting the red crystals and putting them one by one into her sachel. Once the sachel is full, she closes it up.
"Okay, I'm done with the crystals. What now?" Kitty asked what to do.
"Get out of there. It's only a matter of time before they find you." Scarlett ordered.
"Okay, but you have to tell me what the crystals did to Scott on my way out." Kitty agrees under a condition.
"Well then, you might want to start worrying about the crystals at this point." Scarlett agrees.
Kitty then runs out of the room to escape.
-15 Minutes Later-
We then see Kitty flying back to the dorms. She was still in a conversation with Scarlet.
"So your saying that the crystals did that to Scott?! That's horrible!" Kitty was surprised by what the crystals can do.
"Yeah, and I'm afraid of what it's capable of if it can do that." Scarlett states. "I don't want it to be in my hands. Tommorow, hand it out to the Peacekeepers for research."
"You betcha!" Kitty said.
Kitty lands on the walkway around the dorms and walks into the dorms. But what she doesn't know was that one of the crystals fall out of the sachel befor she enters.
Kitty walks in to see the rest of the Running Men eating porkchops.
"Hey, so what did I miss?" Kitty asked.
"Well, other than Owen accidentally crushing Heather for a second time, not much." Duncan smiled.
"We agreed not to tell her." Heather stared daggers at him.
"You agreed with Owen, not me." Duncan states.
"So, what did you find?" Carrie asked.
"Something pretty bad. I'm gonna speak to Mission Control about it." Kitty states. "Save some porkchops for me."
Kitty then walks out of the lounge to her room.
"So, what about tommorow?" Shawn asked.
"Eh, just try to go with the flow." MacArthur didn't think much about tommorow.
"Well, I'm just gonna stretch outside. Bieng crushed by Owen twice in the same hour really does a number on one's body." Heather states that she's going to go outside for a bit.
Heather then walks out of the dorms. She then sees the red crystal on the floor.
"What the?" Heather was confused about the crystal.
Heather then picks it up, exposing the crystal to her body.
"This looks so weird." Heather remarks.
Heather's eyes glow red for a second, but she doesn't notice it.
"I'm gonna keep this as a souviner." Heather said.
Heather then tucks the crystal in her pocket, unaware of the dark energy emanating from it and what it's doing to her.
Well then, the red crystal is revealed. I decided not to include the explanation of what it does to save the suspence for the next few chapters. What'll the crystal do to Heather? Find out next time!
