Okay, I know I did 20 chapters and a lot more words in this fic faster than my last fic (looking at you Aztec). Mostly because of my lack of motivation and ideas from my last fic. So I decided to give it even more effort in this fic But anyway, enough of the backstory, time for a new chapter of Total Drama: Running Time!

Aztec 13: Something you won't expect.

We see the Running Men on their platforms in the stadium, ready and excited that they are nearing the finals.

"This is really exciting. We're near the finals, so they gotta have something exciting." MacArthur smiles as she looks around the stadium.

"I'm not sure the exciting stuff will happen until the finals start." Duncan states that the exciting stuff will not happen yet.

"Yeah, so just be excited for the finals." Heather said.

"So, Heather. How are you feeling after your crystal possession?" Kitty asked in remembering the crystal fiasco.

"I kind of feel weird. My head slightly hurts, but I feel stronger and a lot more energetic." Heather states while stretching.

"Really? I wonder if Scott also got a boost in power?" Mike scratched his head.

"Yeah, but Heather isn't suffering the trauma that Scott is going through." Kitty points out the fact.

"Hmm, maybe Scott got possessed longer than Heather." Carrie states.

"I still feel a lot of trauma. It's just that I have ways to get rid of the feeling." Heather states that she still feels trauma.

"Yeah, probably that." Duncan states.

A robot appears in front of them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, and our Running Man contestants!" The robot announced. "It is a pleasure to announce the beginning of the third round of the team match! With each passing minute, we get closer and closer to the finals!"

The audience cheered wildly. The stadium lights up to materialize into a white pyramid.

-Arena Name: The Pyramid-

5 Total Floors

"The third game of the team match is called Pyramid Pursuit!" The robot announced the name of the game.

Holographic screens appeared in front of the Running Men.

"You will be divided into 3 teams based on a randomizer." The female voice explains the teams. "There will be one Fugitives team and two Pursuers teams."

The screen then showed the randomizer of all 8 contestants.

"Duncan and Carrie will be on the Fugitives team. Kitty, MacArthur and Shawn will be on one of the Pursuers team and Owen, Mike and Heather on the other team." The female voice continued.

"Should we be worried that we were put on a team called the Fugitives?" Carrie was slightly worried.

"Don't worry, you got Total Drama's resident juvie to back you up." Duncan said confidently.

"The Pyramid has 5 total floors. Each floor has a set of obstacles except for the 5th floor. Each team must climb the floors to reach the 5th floor. The Fugitives start on the second floor with a golden ring. Each of the Pursuers will start on different sections of the 1st floor. All 3 teams will have to steal the golden ring from each other. Whichever team reaches the 5th floor and inserts the golden ring on the platform will win the 3rd round of the solo match." The female voice continues explaining.

"Well then, we got a boost, and you got worried over nothing." Duncan nudged Carrie's shoulder.

"I don't know, something about this feels bad." Carrie said.

"Don't worry, it's gonna be fine." Duncan said.

"Are you ready?!" The robot said. "It's Running Time!"

The Running Men fly into their starting positions.

We then see Carrie and Duncan in a circular room. There was a pathway to the 2nd floor obstacle.

"Okay then. Let's go before the others arrive." Duncan prompts as he tucks the ring into his pocket.

"Yeah. Okay then." Carrie smiled.

The two run through the pathway and are met with an unpleasant sight. It was a giant room with a drop down to a shredder below. The only way they see to get to the other side was a bunch of circular platforms dotting the area.

"Ugh, this looks pretty bad." Duncan said as he took a look at the shredder.

"What do you think we should do?" Carrie asked.

"Um, okay, I'm just gonna try something." Duncan said.

Duncan jumped on a platform, but then it began descending.

"Whoaawo!" Duncan exclaimed.

Duncan then jumped back on the pathway.

"Okay, we can't stay on the platforms for long. Our jumps need to be planned before we do it." Carrie tries to think of a strategy.

"Or maybe…" Duncan then scratched his head.

We then see Kitty, Shawn and MacArthur in their section of the first floor. It was like the 2nd floor, but instead of platforms, there were swings dotting the area.

"It's just a game, right? Oh boy, this looks dangerous." Shawn said in seeing the shredder below. "Good thing I still have my grappling hook."

"Okay, Kitty, fly me over there." MacArthur said without much thought.

"Wait, what?!" Kitty was confused by this order.

"Come on, use your wind powers to get us all there." MacArthur said.

"Uh, okay, but since I control where you fly, you might be uncomfortable." Kitty gives off a warning.

"Oh, come on. What's the worst that can happen?" MacArthur was getting cocky.

We then see Owen, Mike and Heather in their section of the 1st floor. Instead of platforms or swings, it looks like a simple pathway to the other side of the room dotted with big robots.

"Okay then, any ideas what to do here?" Mike asked.

"We either plow through them, or go around them." Heather states.

Heather then inserts her Spirit into watch.

-Spirit of Energy-

Heather's eyes glow blue and she charges past the robots. The robots tried to attack her, but due to her speed and the size of the robots, they were unsuccessful. Eventually, Heather reaches the end of the room.

"Now you guys!" Heather yelled out.

"My turn!" Owen yelled.

Owen then takes out his Spirit and inserts it into his watch.

-Spirit of the Bounce-

Owen then bounces around the pathway. He bounces on many of the robots before making it to the other side. But, he did crush Heather again as he reached.

"Whoo! Didn't hurt a bit!" Owen yelled, not knowing what he did.

"Ugh, I'm hurting a lot." Heather groaned.

"Oops, sorry." Owen apologized.

Owen then helps Heather up. They both turn to Mike still at the start.

"Now you!" Owen yelled.

Mike then charged through the pathway. He was running between the robots, and if any were close to attacking, he just hit them with his batons. Eventually, he reaches the other side without worry.

"Well then, we're done. Let's go up." Heather prompted.

"Okay then." Owen agreed.

The three ran out of the room to go up to the floor.

We then see Duncan and Carrie on the second floor. Duncan was in the middle of explaining a plan.

"...so I throw you to the other side and I just go through the platforms myself, okay?" Duncan finished his explanation.

"Now way! And how will you get to the other side?" Carrie asked.

"With you already on the other side, I don't have to split my focus." Duncan states that he'd have to focus less.

Suddenly, Heather, Owen and Mike run into the room.

"We got you now. Now give us the ring!" Heather immediately demands.

"Okay, Carrie, you take the ring." Duncan said as he gave Carrie the ring.

Duncan then inserts his Spirit into his watch.

-Spirit of Strength-

Duncan then grabs onto Carrie's robot arms.

"Okay, you ready?!" Duncan asked.

"What? Of course not!" Carrie said with worry while tucking the key in her pocket

"Here we go!" Duncan yelled.

Duncan then throws Carrie with tremendous force towards the other side of the room.

"Whoaaah!" Carrie exclaimed.

Carrie then landed roughly on the other side of the room. Luckily, she absorbed the shock with her robot hands.

"Ugh! Wow! I have no idea why I agreed to that." Carrie said.

Carrie then stood up and looked at Duncan in the middle of a standoff.

"Run!" Carrie yelled.

We then see Kitty flying as she tries to lift MacArthur with her wind. Shawn has already reached the other side.

"Whoa! Be careful! You're making me feel like I'm actually falling off every 2 seconds!" MacArthur yelled as she tried not to fall off.

"I'm trying! And didn't I already give a warning?!" Kitty said.

"If you gave a warning, then you might have had the mindset to be careful!" MacArthur yelled.

"That doesn't even make any sense!" Kitty yelled.

Shawn was watching this play out.

"Can you guys hurry up?!" Shawn yelled.

"Ugh, fine. I'll just put you on a swing real quick." Kitty said.

"What?!" MacArthur was confused by what she said.

Kitty redirected MacArthur to the nearest swing. MacArthur grabbed hold of it before the wind stopped.

"What's the big deal?!" MacArthur yelled.

"Hold your horses." Kitty said with a stern look.

Kitty then flies to Shawn on the other side of the room. She then inserts a Spirit into her watch.

-Spirit of the Bubble-

Kitty then manifests a purple shield bubble around MacArthur.

"You can let go now!" Kitty prompts.

MacArthur then lets go of the swing. She then was standing inside Kitty's shield bubble.

"Oh, this is pretty weird." MacArthur exclaimed.

Kitty then carefully moves the bubble towards them. Once the bubble is above them, Kitty pops the bubble, allowing MacArthur to fall.

"Oogh!" MacArthur hits the floor.

"Okay then, let's go." Kitty said.

"Ugh, let's just get this over with." MacArthur said, slightly unamused.

"The others are probably there by now, hurry!" Shawn prompts.

The group runs out of the room to go up the pyramid.

We then see Duncan trying to outrun Heather as the two of them traverse the 2nd floor's platforms while Mike and Owen watch from the start of the room.

"Ok… this is getting complicated." Duncan said while struggling to pick which platform to jump on.

"Then you better give up!" Heather yelled behind him.

Heather then jumped into the air and tried to jump smash Duncan, but he jumps away before Heather's fist made contact.

"Whoa! Okay, that was close!" Duncan exclaimed as he landed on another platform.

"Next time, you won't be so lucky!" Heather yelled.

"Agh! Help!" Owen's voice was heard.

Heather turned to see Owen and Mike tackled by Shawn and MacArthur, with Kitty standing nearby.

"Steal their shields, I'll deal with this." Kitty prompted.

"Owen! Mike! Cover your eyes!" Heather ordered.

Heather then took out her Spirit and inserted it into her watch.

-Spirit of Light-

Owen, Mike, Duncan and Carrie covered their eyes when they heard this. Heather finger gunned where her teammates were. A small light blast shot out, and when it made impact nearby, it caused a flashbang which blinded Kitty, MacArthur and Shawn.

"Agh! I can't see!" Shawn yelled.

"Officer blinded!" MacArthur yelled.

Duncan then uses this opportunity to regroup with Carrie.

"You got the ring?" Duncan asked.

"Yup, now let's get out of here before things get crazy." Carrie states.

The two run out of the room. Heather sees this.

"They're getting away!" Heather yelled out to her teammates.

"I'll get them!" Owen yelled.

Owen grabbed Mike and used his rocket boots to jump towards the end. Shawn, having slightly gotten his vision back, notices Owen in the air.

"Come back here!" Shawn yelled.

Shawn then took out his Spirit and inserts it into his watch.

-Spirit of Ice-

Shawn shot his grappling hook towards Owen. Once it clamped, Owen and Mike were encased in ice.

"Yah! Cold! Cold!" Owen yelped from the sudden freezing.

Shawn pulled them towards him. When they crash, the ice shatters, and the two crash onto Shawn and MacArthur, knocking them all out.

"Ah, crap!" Kitty yelled while slowly getting her vision back.

Kitty then inserts her Spirit into her watch.

-Spirit of the Wind-

Kitty flies towards Heather as she compresses air between her hands.

"Time to try something new!" Kitty yelled.

Kitty then passes Heather.

"What the?!" Heather yelled

Kitty then releases the compression, causing a shockwave.

"Whoaaaah!" Both of them yell from the impact.

Heather then lands with the others while Kitty lands on the other side, both slipped from consciousness.

This was a very fast paced chapter. Now that Duncan and Carrie are in the lead, and the others unconscious, things are really heating up. Well then, time for another wait for the next chapter.
