Wazzap! It's time for another chapter! Last time, we saw the Running Men still holding their own in the match, and Heather has come up with another plan. But will this plan work? Find out in this chapter of Total Drama: Running Time!
Aztec 13: Those are the effects of the red gas.
We see Kitty, Heather and Duncan in Zone 6, trying to think of a plan.
"So you're saying we can't tag in this shield ring?" Duncan asked as he held the extra shield ring.
"Yes. We can't tag it in just yet. Not until my assumption is confirmed." Heather states that they have to confirm something first.
"So what do we do?" Kitty asks for the plan.
"First, we take over Zone 1." Heather states.
"Wait, they took over that Zone. And even if we did cross over there, we'll be crushed under our own weight." Duncan sees a flaw in the plan.
"Yeah. What's the point of fighting if we're gonna turn into pancakes?" Kitty states.
"That's where my assumption is going to lie. Trust me." Heather states.
"I don't know… competing with you for four straight seasons makes me doubt it." Duncan states. "I'm kidding."
"Let's go." Heather says.
Suddenly Shawn swings into the Zone.
"Hey guys!" Shawn greets.
"Good, you're here. I need to distract Emma while we deal with the plan." Heather states.
"What?! I almost got eliminated or killed fighting her!" Shawn exclaimed.
"Just distract her." Heather states.
"Ugh, fine." Shawn gives in. "But you better be quick! I don't think I can hold on against her any longer." He adds.
"Is she really that strong?" Kitty seemed worried about this.
"Yeah, she quickly outmanuvers me, and whatever attacks actually land, she recovers quickly." Shawn states.
"Oh man… then the red gas they're taking in, that must have the power of the red crystals." Kitty states that they may be infused with the red crystals.
"Wait, what are you talking about? What reld gas?" Duncan seems confused about this.
"When I was fighting Courtney, her mask was releasing some sort of gas. I didn't think much of it because I thought it was just a way to control them, but after putting the pieces together, I realized it was much worse." Kitty states.
"Hmm… that might explain my dream. And also the weird feeling I get while fighting them." Heather states.
"So? Why can't we just take off their masks?" Duncan asks.
"If it's in gas form, the energy may become unpredictable. It might do more damage to them than what happened to Heather and Scott." Shawn comes to the conclusion.
"So we need to find a better way to release them from control." Heather states.
"But we still have a game to do, remember?" Duncan states.
"Yeah, let's just get moving." Heather states.
We see Emma walking around Zone 8. She was still defending the area.
"Hmm…" Emma was being vigilant to her surroundings.
The scene shifts to behind a pillar, where the remaining Running Men were peeking.
"So, what? Am I supposed to lead her away from you guys?" Shawn asks.
"Yeah, that's the point of a distraction." Duncan states.
"Okay then. But Heather comes with me." Shawn adds.
"That seems reasonable." Heather doesn't think much of it.
The two jump out from cover and run toward Emma. Kitty and Duncan use this opportunity to sneak past them. Eventually, they reach the border between Zone 8 and Zone 1.
"Okay, what do we do? Do we just go in?" Duncan asks.
"Yeah. I guess so." Kitty says.
"But won't we get penalized?" Duncan asked if they're gonna get penalized.
"We've gotta test Heather's theory first." Kitty states that they have to prove something.
"So? Who goes first?" Duncan asked.
"I guess I should do it." Kitty answered.
Kitty walks through the border, shutting her eyes, preparing for the increased gravity. Her body completely passed through the border, but there was no gravity.
"Huh?" Kitty finds this unexpected.
Kitty opens her eyes and sees her completely fine inside Zone 1.
"Oh. Wow. Okay, this is pretty good." Kitty was pretty surprised by this.
But then Brody flies out of nowhere and kicks Kitty in the face. This sends her crashing onto the floor.
"Oogh! Wow! That was strong!" Kitty exclaimed.
Brody jumps up for another kick, but is intercepted by Duncan grabbing his foot. Duncan then swung Brody onto a pillar, weakening him.
"Whoo! You okay?" Duncan asked.
"Yeah, thanks." Kitty smiles.
Duncan helps Kitty up. They turn to Brody also getting up.
"Okay, let's tag him out." Kitty says.
Brody jumps away from them and begins firing.
"Whoa!" Duncan exclaimed.
"Watch out!" Kitty yelled.
Kitty takes out a Spirit and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of the Bubble-
Kitty then forms a shield bubble around them before the energy bullets hit.
"Whoa! That was close!" Kitty exclaimed.
"Okay, drop the shield when I say so." Duncan instructs.
"What?! Okay then!" Kitty says.
Duncan then takes out his Spirit and inserts it in her watch.
-Spirit of the Hand-
"Now!" Duncan yelled.
Kitty drops the shield as Duncan forms an energy hand. As Brody takes another shot, Duncan then shoots out a big fist at Brody.
"Huh?!" Brody exclaimed.
The fist makes contact with Brody and both crash into a pillar, causing him to be knocked out.
"Okay, I know this seems to be a weird time to say this, but I felt deja vu." Kitty states.
"Well then, let's tag this Zone." Duncan says, eager to get points.
Duncan steals Brody's shield, and the hand returns to pull him into the portal.
"DV8 out! DV8 out!" The female voice announced.
We see Heather and Shawn facing off against Emma. Heather was weakened, Shawn was standing next to her while staring down Emma a couple meters in front of him.
"Okay… you were right... she does seem strong." Heather was panting heavily.
"Well then, try and keep up. I don't think she's stopping any time soon." Shawn states as he readies himself.
Emma then began charging. Shawn shoots out multiple ice chunks at her, which are easily dodged.
"I just can't seem to get a good hit!" Shawn yelled out.
Emma leaps for a heavy slash. Shawn crosses his arms and creates an ice shield. Once the slash hits, the shield shatters, and Shawn is knocked back.
"Gaaaagh!" Shawn grunted.
Shawn skids onto the floor, hitting his back on a pillar.
"Yaaah!" Shawn yelled. "That hurts!"
"Shawn!" Heather yelled in seeing this.
"Zone 1 goes to the Running Men." The female voice announces.
"The score is now 2 to 2!" The robot adds.
"What the?" Shawn was caught off guard by this.
"Yes!" Heather grinned in hearing this.
Emma goes at Shawn for another slash.
"Gah!" Shawn yelled.
Shawn's survival instincts quickly kicked in. He dodges the blade and grabs Emma's arm.
"Gnnngh!" Shawn grunted.
Shawn pushes Emma downwards and encases her arm in ice.
"Whoa! Why didn't that kick in minutes ago!" Shawn was both exhilarated and confused.
"No time! Let's meet up with the others!" Heather prompts.
"Oh yeah! Right!" Shawn yelled.
The two run away from the scene as Emma tries to break out of her encasement.
We see Duncan and Kitty standing in Zone 1. The Zone is now glowing blue, due to them inserting Brody's shield ring into the Zone's R Point.
"Hmm… I wonder why we didn't feel heavy when we went into this Zone." Duncan wondered.
"I don't know either. But I think Heather has an explanation." Kitty states that Heather might have a reason.
Then, seemingly on command, Shawn and Heather run into the Zone. Both were panting heavily.
"Whoa. What happened to you guys?" Duncan asked.
"We were… getting beat… pretty badly. She is tough!" Heather exclaimed.
"So, got an explanation why we didn't feel heavier when we passed here?" Duncan asked.
"Wait… I'm still… catching… my breath." Heather was still panting.
We see the Game Master watching the game from his viewing room.
"This is bad." The Game Master muttered.
A robot appears next to him.
"What do you want us to do?" The robot asks.
"Signal the DV8 to attack them head on. No holding back." The Game Master ordered.
"Of course master." The robot obliged.
We see the Running Men in Zone 1.
"So, when I was in Zone 2, Courtney said something interesting." Heather began explaining. "She said 'You're both struggling with double gravity'."
"Yeah? So?" Duncan asked.
"That's when something came to my mind. What if the numbers on the Zones meant something other than the Zone's location." Heather explains.
"So, does this mean being here in Zone 1 means that the gravity is multiplied by 1?" Shawn asks.
"Exactly, and it proves my theory. So, we're gonna lure them to Zone 8." Heather explains.
"Because even they can't handle 8 times the gravity?" Kitty asks.
"Bingo! Now let's move on with our plan." Heather states.
Then suddenly, Cameron, Gwen, Courtney and Devin jump into the Zone. They all have their weapons at the ready.
"Hmm… well that was coincidental." Duncan remarked.
"Indeed." Shawn agrees.
"Get ready guys!" Kitty yelled.
Kitty takes out her Spirit and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of the Wind-
Kitty flies up and takes out her katana.
"Hey! Follow me!" Kitty tries to grab their attention.
Courtney was the first to take action. She leaps up a tremendous height to slash at Kitty. This attack was easily blocked by her katana. Courtney then lands on top of a pillar.
"Seriously? I wasn't ready!" Kitty states.
"There's no waiting in battle." Courtney snarked at this.
Courtney then leaped again and grabbed Kitty by the shoulders.
"Hey! Get off me!" Kitty yelled while trying to shake her straggler off.
"No!" Courtney exclaimed.
We see Heather blocking and dodging fire from Devin.
"Whoa! You are relentless!" Heather remarked.
"I suggest you stop talking." Devin spoke.
Devin then kicks Heather in the thigh.
"Gah!" Heather yelped.
"It helps in battle." Devin continued.
"Says the guy talking right now." Heather taunts.
Heather goes for a staff strike on Devin's face, hitting him on the mask, releasing a bit of red gas.
"I heard that the first rule of fighting is 'protect the face', and you're demonstrating it perfectly." Heather snarked and poked fun at him.
"Let's see how you demonstrate it." Devin states.
We get an overhead shot of the scene. Kitty was trying to shake off Courtney, Heather was battling Devin, Gwen was hunting down Shawn, and Duncan was just running away from Cameron. Eventually, they cross over to Zone 8.
We see the Game Master watching the holographic screens with intent.
"They must be luring them to Zone 7. But they'll just get eliminated before they leave Zone 7." The Game Master states with confidence. "Wait… wasn't DV2 tagged out?" Their confidence faded.
The Game Master looked at one of the screens and sees that Duncan was holding the extra shield ring.
"The shield ring? The shield ring!" The Game Master was surprised by this. "Get it! Now!" He ordered.
We see Kitty still trying to shake off Courtney, as the DV8 member tries to hold on and find an opportunity to claw at her.
"Whoa!" Kitty yelped as she dodged a claw slash. "Still have that burning fire inside you?"
"Shut it!" Courtney yelled.
Suddenly, Courtney perked up. She turns to Duncan as he nears the R Point, and jumps off.
"Hey! What the?!" Kitty was surprised.
We see Shawn throwing out ice javelins as Gwen uses her karambits to shatter them before they hit her.
"How are you… not getting… tired!" Shawn was getting exhausted.
Just as he said this, Gwen perked up and runs at Duncan.
"Huh?" Shawn exclaimed.
We see Duncan nearing the R Point. He still has the shield ring in his hand.
"Almost there." Duncan muttered to himself.
Suddenly, Courtney lands in front of him.
"Give me that!" Courtney yelled.
Courtney slashes at Duncan, but he easily dodges.
"Whoa!" Duncan yelped. He then sees Shawn running towards him. "Shawn! Catch!"
Duncan then throws the shield ring at Shawn, which he catches.
"Okay then!" Shawn says.
Shawn was about to run to the R Point, but red smoke bombs detonate next to him.
"Ach! Ugh…" Shawn was quickly losing consciousness.
"Shawn! Give here!" Kitty yelled from above.
Shawn throws the ring to Kitty before passing out.
"Okay, now for the final stretch." Kitty says.
Suddenly, Emma lands on the R Point and stares Kitty down.
"Emma…" Kitty worried in seeing her. But then worry turned to determination.
Kitty flies straight at the R Point. Emma throws her double blade at her, which she dodges.
"Touchdown!" Kitty yelled.
Kitty inserts the ring in the R Point. Immediately, the Zone glows blue.
"Ugh…" Emma groaned as she felt extreme gravity push her down.
The rest of the remaining soon followed. They try to push themselves up, but to no avail.
"Nice!" Duncan yelled in victory.
Kitty turns to Emma, struggling to get up. The others were taking the shields of the rest of the DV8.
"Emma… Sis…" Kitty says solemnly.
Kitty then forms her bracelet into a disk. She throws the disk under Emma and it begins a scan. Kitty then kneeled down to her sister.
"I'll find a way to get you back… I promise." Kitty says solemnly.
The disk beeps. Kitty picks up the disk and steals Emma's shield.
"The DV8 have been fully eliminated! The winner of the second match of the finals are the Running Men!" The robot announced.
It's now done! Now the team have information on how to release the DV8. But what will happen then?
