Hello again my readers. It's time for the 30th chapter and the final match of the Running Man Championships. Anything can happen in this match, and the final stretch to bring back the DV8 from control. But what will happen in this match? Will the Running Men be able to succeed? Will we be able to predict what happens next? Find out in this chapter of Total Drama: Running Time!
Aztec 13: You won't know until it happens.
We see the Running Men walk into a circular room below the stadium. There was a floating circular metal frame in the middle of the room. The Running Men have earpieces connecting to Scarlett.
"Okay, this is it." Kitty breathes nervously. "Scarlett, any plans?" She asks through the earpiece.
"I now have a connection to the firewall of the system. But I'm gonna need some time to break through." Scarlett states. "Stay in the game long enough so I can release the DV8."
"So it doesn't matter if we win. We just have to survive." Heather states.
"Yes. And while we're doing that, the guys with me will monitor the files of the Zeta Project if any more finish decrypting." Scarlett adds.
"Good, we'll be prepared if the conspiracy goes full swing." Duncan smiles.
A robot appears in the middle of the room.
"Congratulations to our Running Men! They overcame the odds and have made it to the finale!" The robot congratulated them.
A holographic screen appears and shows the stadium from above. The stadium glows brightly to materialize into a massive sphere with multiple metal frames around it, similar to the one inside the room the Running Men are in.
-Arena Name: Portal Arena-
"The game is called Battle of the Kings!" The robot announces the game.
"Each team will select a team member to be a King. The King will have a crown marked inside their shield." The female voice began explaining the rules. "Neither team won't know which player is the King. The first team to find the King and steal their shield wins the game. The game will be played within three sets. The first team to win two sets is the winner. This game will take place across all the stages from previous matches. Players can teleport to different stages by using portals installed throughout stages."
"So, this game is a big one, it seems." Mike states.
"You now have one minute to choose who will be the King!" The robot states.
"Okay, time for the game plan." Shawn states.
"So, have you thought of something yet?" MacArthur asked.
"Hmm. If we want to survive longer, we need to win the first set. Then in the next sets, we don't have to worry about our placement." Heather states.
"Yeah, that does make sense." Carrie states.
"So? Who will be our King?" Shawn asks.
"Hmm, I guess it will be…" Heather begins to decide on who to pick. "Owen."
"What?! Why me?!" Owen panicked a bit.
"Because, with your Spirit, you can evade attacks quickly." Heather states.
"Time's up, everyone!" The robot announced.
The metal frame in the room glows to manifest a yellow portal.
"What?! That's too quick! Are none of you guys supposed to have a say in this?!" Owen was panicking a bit.
The others just shrugged.
"Ah, crap muffins!" Owen yelled.
"Come on, let's go." Heather states.
Everyone then jumps into the portal.
We see a portal in the Path of Holes. The portal then spits out Carrie.
"Whoaaa-ugh!" Carrie grunted as she crashed down. "Ugh, that was a rough ride."
Carrie gets up and finds herself in a familiar area.
"So, they weren't kidding when they said this game is spread out over multiple stadiums." Carrie remarked.
Carrie taps her watch and contacts the others.
"Guys, I'm in the Path of Holes. Where are you right now?" Carrie asks.
"I'm in the Super Arena. We've gotta meet up somewhere first. Most importantly, we've gotta protect Owen." Heather answers and states.
"Yeah, but where do we go from here?" Carrie asks.
"Just jump through as many portals as you can. And avoid fights for the time being." Heather states.
"Okay then." Carrie obliged.
Just as the conversation ended, a karambit barely misses Carrie's neck as it flies by.
"Whoa!" Carrie exclaimed.
Carrie turned to see Gwen walking towards her.
"Can you not grab people's attention by nearly missing a shot on the neck?!" Carrie exclaimed.
Gwen held up her hand, and Carrie knew what was gonna happen. The karambit flies by her and she grabs it before it can go further.
"You want it back?" Carrie taunted.
Gwen charges at her and jumps for a kick. Carrie throws the karambit back at her and braces for impact. The kick knocks her back towards a portal.
We see Carrie getting spit out of the portal on the 3rd floor of the Pyramid.
"Agh!" Carrie grunted.
As Carrie starts to recover, Gwen jumps out of the portal and goes for an axe kick.
"Whoa!" Carrie exclaims.
Carrie rolls out of the way and dodges the kick. She then gets back up.
"Come on! At least let me breathe a little!" Carrie yelled out, getting pretty tired.
Gwen goes for a slash. Though this caught her by surprise, Carrie grabs it with her extra arms.
"Whoa! I… guess that's a no." Carrie states.
Carrie throws Gwen away. Gwen springs off a wall and goes for another slash, but was hit by Mike leaping out of nowhere with his batons.
"Yaagh!" Gwen yelled.
Gwen crashes onto the floor. Mike lands on the ground and prepares for battle.
"You okay?" Mike asks his teammate.
"Yeah. Thanks for saving my skin." Carrie thanks for the help.
"No problem. Now let's get out of here." Mike states.
Suddenly, nail shots were seen flying behind Mike.
"Mike! Watch out!" Carrie yelled.
Carrie swats the nail shots away and sees Courtney retrieving the nails back to her hands.
"It seems we're surrounded." Carrie states while readying herself.
"Yeah, I guess so." Mike agrees in seeing this. "Heather says no fighting for the time being. I guess this makes an exception."
"No, it doesn't." Heather's voice was heard from above.
The two look up to see a portal above them. Heather emerges out of it, grabs the two and jumps right back in.
We see the top of the Platform Arena. The portal was flat on the ground with Owen waiting next to it. Heather jumps out of the portal with Mike and Carrie in tow.
"Whoa! Okay, thanks for that." Mike states.
"Not now, we need to get them off our trail." Heather states.
The four jump off the high point and fall through a portal.
We see the four Running Men getting spit out of a portal in the 6th floor of the Ultimate Tower.
"Okay, where do we go now?" Mike asks where to go from there.
"Let's check on the others." Heather states.
Heather taps on the watch and contacts someone.
"Hey guys, where are you right now?" Heather contacts the others.
"Well I'm on the first floor of the Ultimate Tower." Shawn answers.
"I'm at the Super Arena." MacArthur answers.
"I'm at the skywalk from the opening game." Kitty answers.
"I'm on the 1st floor of the War Tower." Duncan answers.
"Okay, try to find some way to the top of the War Tower. We will meet there." Heather states.
"Okay." Everyone says before the connection was cut off.
"So, since this isn't the Escape Race, I guess these doors will always open." Mike states that the doors might open anytime.
"Yeah, I guess." Carrie agrees.
Suddenly, multiple energy shots were fired behind them. Heather senses this and inserts her Spirit into her watch.
-Spirit of Energy-
"Watch out!" Heather yelled.
Heather goes into the path of the shots and blocks every single one of them. She then sees Brody and Cameron in front of her.
"Guys, let's get out of here!" Heather alerted the others.
"Okay!" Owen yelled.
The four began climbing up the stairs as Heather was blocking fire. Mike reached out for the door and opened it.
"Guys! It's open!" Mike yelled.
As Mike says that, the two enemies became encased in ice. Behind them emerges Shawn.
"So, did I miss something?" Shawn asks.
"Ehm… not much." Carrie states.
"Come on, let's get out of here." Heather states.
As the first four were climbing up the stairs, Brody and Cameron break out of encasement. Cameron throws a red smoke bomb at Shawn.
"Whoa!" Shawn exclaimed.
Shawn grappled to the others before the bomb hits him. He lands on the top of the staircase and follows the others up.
We see MacArthur and Duncan running from Jasmine and Emma in the hallway of the first floor of the War Tower.
"Quick! Think of some way we can shake them off!" MacArthur prompts to think of a way to get them off their tail.
"It's a hallway, I doubt we can shake them off in any way." Duncan brings up a point.
"Come on! Can't we think of something?!" MacArthur yelled.
"I think we should shake them off in a room. I'll fire at them."
Duncan takes out a Spirit and inserts it into his watch.
-Spirit of the Hand-
Duncan fires out multiple energy fists at the two to keep them distracted.
"That's your plan?!" MacArthur was confused.
"Just wait." Duncan snarks at this.
As the two made it inside one of the rooms of the first floor, Duncan began firing at the door frame above them.
"What are you doing?" MacArthur asked.
"Creating some rubble to cut them off." Duncan says.
"Well then." MacArthur then caught on with the plan.
MacArthur takes out her Spirit and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of Lighting-
MacArthur also began firing at the door frame. Eventually, the rubble crashes down, blocking the enemy passage towards them.
"Okay, now that's done, let's go meet with the others." Duncan states.
"How are we gonna go up?" MacArthur asks.
"How about that portal over there?" Duncan suggests while pointing to a portal behind him.
"Oh, okay then." MacArthur agrees.
We then see Kitty facing off against Alejandro in the sky paths from the opening game.
"Seriously? You show up for a fight right here on the sky paths." Kitty was confused and frustrated that she had to fight on the sky paths.
Alejandro just stands there staring at her.
"Let's just take this somewhere else." Kitty states.
Kitty takes out her Spirit and inserts it into her watch.
-Spirit of the Wind-
Kitty flies past Alejandro and heads for a portal.
"Follow me, jerkface!" Kitty taunted.
Suddenly, Courtney leaps out of the portal and tackles her.
"Hey! What the?!" Kitty was caught off guard.
This sudden action causes the both of them to fall into another portal.
We see a portal in the Super Arena. Kitty and Courtney get spit out of it and crash into the ground.
"Agh! Why is it always you that takes me out of the sky?" Kitty asks, frustrated.
"What can I say? A cat is a natural predator of birds." Courtney states.
"I'm sure you'll be less annoying when we get you out of the Game Master's control." Kitty states.
"Save your energy for when you can do that." Courtney states.
Alejandro and Gwen jump out of the portal and walk next to Courtney.
"Gghh." Kitty readied herself.
Kitty forms her bracelet into an arm cannon and begins firing at them.
We see MacArthur and Duncan walking around another part of the Super Arena.
"Ah man, we're so lost." Duncan exclaimed.
"Yeah! This reminds me of the time I went camping in Yellowstone. It took me 6 hours to get back to camp, and I was only trying to do my business!" MacArthur ranted about being lost.
"Okay, too much information." Duncan didn't want to hear about it anymore. "Look, let's just remember the portals, where they lead and where they situate."
Suddenly, some fighting sounds were heard.
"What the?" Duncan perked up. "Let's check it out."
"No doubt about that." MacArthur agrees.
The two run to the site of battle and see Kitty fighting Gwen, Alejandro and Courtney, clearly outnumbered.
"What the?!" Duncan yelled.
"Guys! Help me!" Kitty yelled.
Suddenly, Gwen jumps up and axe kicks Kitty into the floor. The three then go for a strike on her while she recovers.
"Ah crap!" Kitty yelled.
Suddenly, something kicks inside Kitty. Her eyes glow white and immediately, the air around her spins vehemently. All three of the DV8 get caught in the vortex of the mini storm.
"Yaaaaaaagh!" Kitty yelled from this sudden kick in energy.
"What the heck?!" MacArthur yelled in awe.
The mini storm sends the three of the DV8 flying as all of them fall through portals. The storm dissipates, and Kitty falls down, unconscious.
"Whoa! What the heck was that?!" MacArthur asked in extreme confusion.
"Let's go!" Duncan yells.
The two run to Kitty as she wakes up, weakened.
"Ugh… what was that?" Kitty asks.
"Um, basically, you turned into a tornado." MacArthur explains it in the simplest way possible.
"What? How the heck did that happen?" Kitty was confused.
"I have no idea, but let's get you to the others." Duncan states.
Okay, the chapter is complete. The final game is going to be a doozy, with it spread out across previous arenas. But what will happen next? Did Kitty unlock more of the potential of her Spirit? And who else would get Spirit power ups? Find out next time!
Goodbye, goodbye, good friends, goodbye!
