Lucas walked along Route 202 at a leisurely pace. He was in high spirits and very excited about his new adventure. His eyes darted around the area, searching for any possible teammates to join him. Several Starly flew above in the sky, and a few Bidoof run by playing with each other. Starly and Bidoof we're nice however he was looking for a different Pokemon. That he saw around last time he was doing field research.
A rustling in the bushes nearby caught his attention. He immediately snapped his head in the direction of the sound.
"Hopefully it the Pokemon I'm looking for," Lucas whispered as his eyes search around for the source of the sound.
He could hear something moving closer. Reaching down to his belt. Lucas snapped off Chimchar ball holding it up in his hand.
Okay, let's get ready to hopefully catch a new teammate. This battle is going to be great preparation for the gym. Lucas thought throwing his Pokeball and releasing Chimchar.
The sounds drew nearer and nearer, causing him to narrow his eyes in concentration.
"Alright, Chimchar get ready to battle something coming," Lucas told his partner getting ready to fight the wild Pokemon.
His eyes locked onto the disturbance in the brush, and soon a small figure immersed into the clearing.
A little black and blue loin cub walked out from the bush and stooped right in front of Lucas in a crouched position. It had a black tail with a yellow star at the end of it. Big yellow eyes stared into the narrow black eyes of the chimp Pokemon in front of it. It opened its mouth as ice began to form.
"So it's you again miss Ice fang Shinx," Lucas said smirking at his newly arrived foe.
"I have been hoping to find you. I know the professor would love to study you," Lucas started. "But after witnessing your fight last time. I was here doing fieldwork catching Pokemon. I decided I want you to join my team."
Shinx narrowed her eyes and crouched, eyes focused on Chimchar with complete concentration. Chimchar by the feline showing off its teeth.
"You're going to be mine," Lucas said.
Shinx let out a loud cry before she charged at Chimchar without warning, mouth opened wide with ice forming. Chimchar quickly jumped out the way of the assault only to be hit in the back by an iron tail. Chimchar quickly landed on his feet and stared at his foe.
"Chimchar use ember now!" Lucas commanded.
Chimchar opened his mouth spitting fire out straight at Shinx face. This sent Shinx sliding back, shaking off the pain from the ember. She then avoided the follow-up scratch attack, and bit Chimchar tail sending ice up his body.
"Chimchar break free using flame wheel!" Lucas commanded.
Chimchar quickly rolled up to a wheel of flames breaking the hold. He rolled to the side evading the upcoming tackle. He then rolled straight towards Shinx hitting her in the face with a flame wheel. Sending the Shinx staggering back.
"Chimchar another flame wheel!" Lucas shouted as Shinx charged once again at Chimchar using the move iron tail.
The chimp rolled up into a flaming wheel slamming right into Shinx and sending her flying back. Shinx then landed on the ground with a yelp, before passing out from exhaustion.
Lucas immediately grabbed an empty Pokeball and launched it at the loin cub Pokemon snatching her up. The ball twitched violently for a moment or three before going still. Shinx had been caught. Lucas smiled at Chimchar and pick up the Pokeball containing his new teammate.
"We got are ourselves a new teammate. Nice job buddy," Lucas said spraying a potion on Chimchar.
"Chim! Chimchar!"
"Yeah, buddy that was a good fight. What do you say we continue our journey. You rest up until I need you again."
Chimchar nodded as Lucas returned him to his Pokeball.
Meanwhile, in Jubilife City, two trainers were standing outside on a field near the Pokemon trainer school. On the arena floor was an Abra. Across from the Abra was an Eevee was sat across waiting for a command and attack. The owner of the Eevee was none other than Leda. The trainer school's headteacher stood on the side acting as the judge for the match.
"This is going to be a one-one match between Pokemon trainer Leda and School Kid Christine. Since the original person in charge of today's test. We found a Leda who happened to be nearby training. If you lose you won't fail today's battle test depending on your strategy skills," The teacher stated.
Schoolkid Christine smiled.
"You might be an actual trainer, but I'm not going to lose to you," Cristine gave a bright smile.
Leda stared blankly at Abra and the little girl in front of her. Then down at her Eevee before observing the Abra.
'I might have caught this Eevee not that long ago, but there is no way. That he is going to lose against that Abra.'
"Begin!" The teacher shouted.
"Use Hidden power!" Christine shouted.
Abra lifted up arms as a bright white appeared it moved its hands forward ready to attack. The bright white light shot right for Eevee only for Eevee to slide out of the way.
"Double team!" Leda commanded.
At that moment, several Eevee materialized into view. The Abra glanced around as the five Eevee surrounded It. Christine watched as the five Eevee gathered around Abra.
"Sand attack," Leda ordered.
The five Eevee then all turned around and began to kick the dirt and sand from the ground towards Abra's face. Making it stagger as the sand made it hard for Abra to see.
"Tackle!"
Eevee ran towards Abra and sent it flying slamming its body into Abra. Christine could do nothing but stare at Eevee surprised by Eevee's power. Sure Abra, not the strongest. A smirk spread across Leda's face as she gave the next command.
"Shadow Ball!"
Eevee opened his mouth and a dark purple aura gathered within his mouth. Suddenly a large powerful purple ball was hurled from his mouth , creating a large blast of smoke. After a few minutes, the smoke cleared revealing an unconscious Abra on the ground.
The teacher's hand went up. "That's it, Leda wins. Christine, you were over talking smack talk about winning. That you didn't give Abra go commands other than Hidden power, and lost the match. If you went and commanded her to dodge or using her other egg noves you would have done better. Sorry but you fail today's test," She said.
Eevee walked over to Leda and nuzzled her leg. Leda bent down and stroked his fur. She then stood up.
"Thank you, Leda, for the assistance today," The teacher stated.
"Sure," Leda simply replied looking at the Starly flying around.
'These kids are too weak. I need to find someone stronger to help me train for the gym.'
Lucas was continuing his journey through Route 202. He ended up running into a couple of trainers who challenged him to a Pokemon battle. One of the trainers was named Youngster Tristan who had only a starly. Another trainer named was Lass Natalie who had only a Bidoof so far.
"Think It's a good time for a nice break," Lucas said sitting down next to a tree.
He then took his bag off and unzipped it taking out some sandwiches and Pokemon food, before releasing his Chimchar and Shinx.
"Chim! Chimchar!"
"Shin! Shinx!"
"Chimchar and Shinx how about we take a break, and eat after battling those two trainers," Lucas said heading them Pokemon food made for especially for their typings. He also made sure to have food ready for each typing so he was prepared to feed his Pokemon.
This might be his first journey, but being the assistant of Professor Rowan taught him a lot.
"Chim! Char!"
Chimchar said before he began eating his tasty bowl of Pokemon food. With Shinx doing the same but staying completely silent.
"Enjoy you two," Lucas said before biting into his sandwich filling his stomach back up. Before he and his Pokemon carried on with their journey.
Meanwhile, located on a different part of Route 202. Dawn and Piplup had failed to catch a Buneary and a grass cloak Burmy. Piplup had managed to weaken the Burmy, but Dawn wasn't moving fast enough letting the Burmy escape.
The two of them got their courage back ready to try again, but as soon as they were about to move. They heard a rustle in the bushes.
"Pikachu, the Mouse Pokemon. It can generate electric attacks from its electric pouches located in both of its cheeks," Dawn Pokedex buzzed.
"So, it's an electric-type Pokemon," Dawn said. "That not a good type advantage for a water type like Piplup, but hey..."
She looked at Piplup who held its fist out.
"Alright! Take it from the top! Piplup use Bubblebeam!" Dawn shouted.
Piplup unleashed a beam of bubbles which was destroyed by Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
"Whoa! So, that's what a Thunderbolt looks like!" Dawn said with a hint of surprise. "Alright, Piplup use peck!"
Piplup jumped as his beak glowed white and sharp and charged towards Pikachu.
Pikachu again used Thunderbolt, shocking Piplup, and burnt Dawn's bike.
"My bike! It's extra crispy!" Dawn said in shock and glared at Pikachu. "Thanks a lot, I'm catching you for sure after that! Let's go Pokeball!"
She then threw a Pokeball at Pikachu.
But to Dawn's surprise, the Pokeball bounced away from Pikachu, causing Dawn to look at the Pikachu confused.
"Hold on! If that didn't work. You must already belong to someone else, maybe?" Dawn asked.
Pikachu grew a little frightened as it began to run away, only to be cornered by a Seviper, Cacnea, and Dustox.
"What are they all doing here?" Dawn asked.
Just then, Meowth appeared. "They're my Pikachu crew!"
When Meowth talked, Dawn was surprised as she checked her Pokédex.
"Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon." the Pokedex said."It sleeps a lot during the daytime, and during the nighttime, it becomes active, moving around, in its territory."
"And that blabber box won't tell you about, was not only the cream of the Poké-crop, I'm the king of the cuties, too!"Meowth said.
Then, Jessie and James, of Team Rocket came out of the bushes, glad to see Pikachu almost captured.
"Eureka!"Jessie sneered with a smirk.
"Looks like we struck Pikachu gold!"James snickered.
Then the evil trio saw Dawn with her Pokeball.
"Little girl, you really shouldn't be playing around with Pokeballs like that, you know, "Jessie stated with a smirk.
"Huh?"Dawn asked in confusion.
"You might 'Poké' a Pokémon size out!"James joked.
"Wobbuffet!"Wobbuffet agreed.
"There is no room in this forest for yet another thief," Jessie commented. "We've been after Pikachu so long, we're trademark!"
"But, thanks to your unwilling, you made our job much easier!"James explained.
That made Pikachu annoyed as he shocked the trio with a Thunderbolt.
"Oppose to cute little rosy super-charged cheeks, that leaves the closest to branch!" Jessie muttered.
The trio recovered quickly, which allowed James to order their Pokémon to attack Pikachu!
Pikachu managed to dodge every attack, but grew very exhausted and weak.
Dawn couldn't stand to watch all this happen. "Piplup use Bubblebeam!"
Piplup used bubblebeam blowing Seviper, Cacnea, and Dustox away.
Dawn and Piplup went in front to protect Pikachu.
"Who are you? Their Mom?!" James asked with annoyance.
"Look! This Pikachu doesn't like you, whoever you are!"Dawn retorted.
Team Rocket smirked as they began their motto.
"Prepare for trouble, are you out of the room?"
"Make it double, those ones who are the real corps."
"And evils hold the galaxy!"
"Sent here to fulfill our destiny!"
"With Meowth, that's me!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reaches to the stars above!"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Meowth's the name!"
"Whenever's there peace around..."
"Team Rocket..."
"Is there!"
"To make everything worse!"
"Wobbuffet!"
"Mime Mime!"
"Never heard of you, "Dawn admitted.
That made Team Rocket fall in awkwardness.
"The nerve of that twerpette!"Jessie muttered. "Not knowing who we are!"
"I wonder if she knows where we are?"James asked as he stood up.
"Just outside of Sandgem Town, "Dawn answered.
"The Sinnoh region," James said in realization. "How could I forgot!"
"You never could grab long distances," Jessie admitted.
"That's why she doesn't know anything about us," James said with a smile. "There's no Team Rocket breach."
That made Jessie and Meowth sneer with triumph.
"I find it awfully hard to believe that this Pikachu belongs to you!"Dawn stated. "For starters, why isn't Pikachu safely inside its Pokeball?"
Jessie ignored the question, deciding to steal Dawn's Piplup!
"Seviper! Use Wrap!"Jessie ordered.
The Poison Type Pokémon wrapped its coil around Piplup, squeezing him.
"Piplup!" Dawn gasped.
"Say, that blue Pokémon looks catch-able!"Jessie said with a smirk.
"And with the Pikachu to the boss, yellow and blue will make some green!"Meowth remarked.
"Quick, Piplup use Bubble Beam now!" Dawn commanded.
Piplup used its bubble beam on Sevpier face breaking free from its wrap.
"Piplup are you okay?" Dawn asked looking over at Piplup.
Piplup nodded in response.
"Not too bad for a little kid. But now it's time to show you why Team Rocket is feared by a lot of little kids all over the Kanto region," Jessie said.
"Left there to cry in our evil wake!" James shouted.
"Show them what he means gang!" Meowth said with a smirk.
"Use Bubble beam!" Dawn shouted.
Pikachu joined In the attack as Piplup released a stream of bubbles blasting the three enemy Pokemon, causing an explosion on Team Rocket.
"That was a quick trip," Jessie said with a smile.
"Jessie is right!" James replied.
"We had a little look!" Meowth agreed.
"WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Team Rocket shouted as they vanished in the sky.
Dawn and the two Pokemon cheered.
"Yay, we did it Piplup. We finally did a battle right!" Dawn cheered.
Dawn and Piplup continued to cheer with Pikachu until the Mouse Pokemon fell to his rear panting.
Dawn gasped in shock. "Somethings wrong, I know it," she said picking up Pikachu."We better find a Pokemon center and fast!"
So Dawn and Piplup raced down to e closest Pokemon center to get Pikachu some help.
So this wraps up the second chapter of Lucas's Pokemon adventure. These were also the first battle scene of the story. I hope you enjoy the battles and that they weren't too short. Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments.
