James could not hide his joy as he and Harry walked up the path to their home. Oh, he could not wait to look after his son, send him off to Hogwarts. However, he couldn't help but see fear in his son's eyes. There was confusion there as well but that was to be expected because he just shows up and tells him that he was his father. It was like something out of that muggle movie that Sirius told him about when they were making Harry's room last week. His son just seems like that, and James will make it right. "So, Harry what do you think?" James asked when they came up to the house. James smiled fondly when he saw their large house. Flowers lined the path to the door. The house was light blue with white trim a Griffin was sitting in the garden.
"Is this your house?" Harry asked staring at it. James laughed a little.
"It's ours, Harry. Now come on, there are some people that I want you to meet," James said to Harry who looked up at him. James saw the same fear in his eyes as when he met him. 'Dursley.' James thought before they walked into the house.
"Sirius would you calm down. Harry will be here," Remus said to a pacing Sirius. Both friends were in the living room. Remus was sitting by the fireplace reading while Sirius was Padfoot pacing in front of the fireplace. "James might just be giving Harry's relatives a piece of his mind," Remus added turning a page in his book. Padfoot stopped and laid down on the floor with a wine. Remus laughed a little and smiled when he heard the door open. Padfoot turned back into Sirius and ran to the door. Remus followed after he stood up and put his book down.
"Come on Moony!" Sirius called acting more like a dog when he walked up the entryway.
"Calm down Pads. Harry might not remember you," Remus said when the door opened. James walked in with Harry behind him. James smiled but Sirius and Remus saw anger in his eyes. They would have to talk later it seemed.
"Harry these are my best friends Sirius Black and Remus Lupin," James said running his hand through his son's hair. Harry looked at Sirius and Remus and smiled a little. However, they saw fear in his eyes.
"It's ok. Harry we not going to hurt you. In fact, we knew your mother also," Remus said looking at James who smiled sadly.
"You…you knew my mum?" Harry asked walking up behind his father's legs. Hope shined in his eyes. This made the three friends smile.
"Of course, cub," Remus said getting down to meet Harry's green eyes. "She was wonderful. Smart and didn't like your dad at first," Remus said.
"Hey," James said back making Sirius laugh. "Right let's show Harry around. I'm sure he's hungry also," James said ruffling Harry's hair again. Harry flinched at this, but everyone noticed. Harry nodded and took his father's hand as the small family showed Harry around.
James, Sirius, and Remus all sat around the dining table while Harry played in his room. Or at least that was what they were hoping he was doing. "I don't know what to do guys. Harry is not the happy kid he should be because of his relatives. I don't…." James cut off and ran his hand over his face.
"James, we will do this. Harry just needs to know what love is. You showed me that, hell you showed Remus that. Remus may be the heart of us all but you brought us together. I wasn't even supposed to be friends with you and yet here we are. We are going to help you. Lily would have wanted that," Sirius said making Remus and James smile.
"Your right Pads. Now let's go see what Harry is doing?" James said standing up with the others doing the same.
A/N: First thing is I'm sorry. I'm sorry about the wait on this story. For some reason, I stopped being in a Harry Potter mood and I wanted to do other stories and things but I'm back in a HP mood and it's going to be wonderful. Tell me what you think. Did you like it? Now that I have less stories to worry about this one will be the main one unless I get stuck again. Thank you all for putting up with me and Happy new year. -Captain Voxland
