Chapter 2: Growing up.

As the years go pass from when Farengar took in Haraldor the child grew up in the halls of Dragons Reach. Despite being a Breton by blood he was more like the nords he lived with. By the time Haraldor was three Farengar started to teach Haraldor how to read, write, and do basic math. Haraldor took to the lessons like a fish would to water. When he was seven Farengar started to train him with magic and more classes every morning. He also allowed Haraldor to explore the city outside of the keep.

P.O.V. Haraldor

'Farengar finally let me go from our lessons for today! I can finally explore the city!' These thoughts were running through the young boy as he was let out the keep by some guards. He walked down the flight of stairs that lead to the Gildergreen tree. He was amazed by the sounds and sights.

He noticed a few things one there was a priest preaching a sermon, two there was a staircase to the market district, and third there was a staircase that lead to a hall with what looks to be a upside down boat as it's roof. After deciding what to do first Haraldor walked up to the priest and listen to him preaching about Talos. After the sermon Haraldor walked up to the man and started to talk "That was a good sermon sir. Can you tell me more about Talos because I know that my dad told me he was a divine and a emperor." The child like curiosity with every word said. "Well young one it warms my heart that someone as young as you have an interest in the great and mighty Talos. Yes he is a divine but he was a mortal man like me and you. He founded the empire and ascended to godhood." The priest told him before he carried on. " Young one do you have an amulet to pray to like every good nord child has?" The priest asked and when Haraldor shook his head in the negative the priest gave him his own amulet.

For the rest of his time before supper Haraldor was people watching in the market district. When he got back he had his fill at supper and before he went to bed he prayed to Talos. The next day after his lessons he decided to go to the boat hall that he saw. He made sure that he had his amulet on as he left to see what was going on there. When he got up the stairs leading to the hall he saw a stone structure that looked like an eagle with smoke coming from below it.

He went to see what that was about and saw a burly, tall, grey haired man who has a tan that you can only get from working a forge. Haraldor was captivated by the way the man worked the red hot steel into a new shape. Plucking up the courage Haraldor walked up to the man and asked "Excuse me sir what are you doing?" With childhood innocence. The man turned to him and was shocked that a kid came up here and was watching him do his work.

"The name is Eorlund grey-mane and I am the resident smith of the companions. I am working on a blade for one of them." Eorlund told the child. "That is nice sir. Can you teach me how to be a smith like you?" The boy asked Eorlund with some excitement. "What's your name pup?" Eorlund asked the young boy. "My name is Haraldor Stormbreath sir." Haraldor responded.

"Well Haraldor if you can bring your father down here I can see if he is willing to allow you to be my apprentice and if he would be willing to allow you to train with the companions. I will get my friend Kodlak here to see if he agrees too." Eorlund said to the boy and all he got was a quick nod before the boy rushed off. "What an interesting child." Eorlund said as he watched him head up to Dragon's Reach.

It was late afternoon when Farengar, Kodlak, and Eorlund met to discuss Haraldor's training and apprenticeship. It took three whole hours to come to an agreement on payment and time for when to train Haraldor. It was decided that he had his morning lessons with Farengar, then he would go to Eorlund during midday to be taught, and finally during the evening he would be training with the companions. Haraldor ate his supper happily and when he prayed to Talos he thanked him for these opportunities. He didn't know how hard pressed he would be by his training.

The next day was his first day for his apprenticeship and his training. He went through his lessons with his father like normally then when it was over he changed his clothes to something more appropriate for hard work and training. After that he ran down to the sky forge to meet with Eorlund to start his apprenticeship. "So young pup you are here to learn the art of smithing. I will push you to your limits and I hope that you pass them. Now firstly I will show you how to craft an Iron Dagger. I expect you to make sure that you make it your best work right now. By the end of this I hope that you become a master smith." Eorlund explained to him.

They got started by picking out the best ore and turning it into an ingot. From there they worked on the technique of hammering the iron into shape. Then they got to the process of correctly tanning hide into leather. Then they worked on how to sharpen the blade. In the end the result of Haraldor's first attempt was pretty bad and he felt bad for failing. "Oi what's all that whining about. So what you didn't make the dagger right the first time. You can use this as a learning experience and improve. I will take it for now but I expect you to improve. Now go to your combat training." Eorlund cheered the poor boy up leading him to the training yard of the companions.

Kodlak was there with two boys around his age. "Ah Haraldor I see that you are finished with your smithing lesson today now join us. These two lads are Vilkas and Farkas. They are new welps like you and you will train together and be shield brothers." Kodlak explained and introduced the twins to him. "Now I want you to run three laps around Jorrvaskr. When you are done with that you will do twenty push-ups and twenty sit-ups. Next you will practice hand to hand combat then weapons training. To end it off you will run three more laps and then cool off with stretching." Kodlak explained to them then yelled "What are you waiting for move it you milk drinkers!" With that all three boys did as they were told.

By the end of it Haraldor was exhausted. He walked up to the exhausted twins and said "Well that was a killer workout today. You two were good out there." Vilkas looked up and ginned up at him. "Well you weren't so bad also." Vilkas said. "Well I have to get going but I will see you tomorrow!" Haraldor said as he made his way back to Dragon's Reach. This was a start to a bond as strong as brothers have between the three that would last many years.

That was the only time when the two worlds are in synced with each other and Nirn has a slightly faster timedifference. Also yes there will be more manipulative dumbles in the future andbashing as well so hang on. Well I got to say Toodeloo!!!!! Please like favorite read and review!
