Chapter 5: Home for a bit then back on the road.
They made their way to the ruins of fort dawn guard. The first stop on the journey was Whiterun where Haraldor introduced Brelyna to his father figure and his surrogate brothers. That was an interesting affair when they got there. The first place they went was to Dragons Reach to let Haraldor's father know that his son was in the city. The first thing that Farengar did when he saw his son was embrace him in a tight hug. "Haraldor your back so soon! What brings you back since it has been two years since I last saw you?" Farengar asked as he gripped his son's shoulders. "Father, I am back because I was allowed to do field research on vampires. Also before you ask who is this besides me her name is Brelyna and she is my betrothed." Haraldor explained to his father.
"Wait now son how in oblivion did you end up betrothed to her because last I remembered was that you couldn't even have the courage to talk to a girl?" Farengar said taking a jab at Haraldor being a nervous wreck when it came to the opposite gender. "Well sir if I have to say I was the one to corner this one to be betrothed to me." Brelyna joined into the conversation. "Ah so the fact my son is a great mage and a capable warrior but is scared of the fairer sex hold true still." Farengar jokes making Haraldor's face turn red. "By the mighty Talos please stop trying to embarrassing me father. Also I am not scared of the fairer sex I can talk with Aela just fine." Haraldor says while he crosses his arms and sticks his chin up. "Well that is because she is more like a sister to you Haraldor." Farengar jabs back then his face turns serious. "So where are you going to stay at Haraldor because you can have your old room back for however long it takes before you head off again to the road." Farengar offers which Haraldor shakes his head to.
"Me and Brelyna are probably going to stay at an inn or at Jorrvaskr for the week as we gather supplies for our journey." Haraldor tells Farengar who nodded his head to what his son is saying. "Haraldor be careful about openly proclaiming that you worship Talos because I have heard that there are some representatives of the thalmor about the city. Also I heard talks of Ulfric starting a rebellion against the empire." Farengar warns Haraldor in a hushed whisper. "I will keep that in mind, father. Well me and Brelyna must be off now. I am glad that we were able to have a talk." Haraldor says as he gives his father one more hug. "Well Farengar I hope that once we see each other again it will be at your son and my wedding. Also will you let me know of any childhood stories of Haraldor once we meet again." Brelyna says with a hint of mischief in her eyes as Haraldor mutters about Talos helping him deal with his future wife trying to embarrass him. That got a laugh out of both his father and Brelyna. "Aye I will do that for you Brelyna just keep him out of trouble for me." With that they were off to Jorrvaskr and the sky forge. Haraldor did say hello to Eorlund and helped him with a sword he was making for Vilkas which gave Haraldor an excuse to surprise the man when he delivered it.
POV Haraldor
I walked into the hall and snuck behind Vilkas while he was talking to Farkas who saw me but saw me put up a sign to keep quiet as I began to talk in a deeper voice. "Excuse me are you Vilkas because Eorlund sent me to deliver a sword he made you." "Aye I am him who are yo…" Vilkas was saying as he turned around to see me with a huge grin on my face with Brelyna right behind me. "You sneaky little mage your back!" Vilkas exclaimed as he put me in a head lock and gave my hair a ruffle. "It looks like our long lost brother also brought back a maiden from his travels." Farkas said as me and Vilkas try to get the upper hand on the other. "My name is Brelyna and may I know your names?" Brelyna asks Farkas. "Well Brelyna as you already know the idiotic mage of a brother of ours the oaf who is grappling with him is Vilkas and I am the responsible one of our sibling trio who holds the name Farkas. So how come a beautiful maiden like you are with my idiotic mage brother doing together?" Farkas introduces himself and takes jabs at both me and Vilkas. "Hey who are you calling an idiot and you're the most irresponsible person I ever knew. The level headed one of us is Vilkas." I yell as me and Vilkas call a draw to our impromptu wrestling match.
"Brother don't let me bring up the girl you are smittened with." Vilkas warned which got Farkas to shut his mouth. "You wouldn't dare!" Farcas accused. "Oh hey Aela didn't see you there." Vilkas said causing Farkas to turn around panicked to the amusement of myself and Vilkas. After we got our laughs in Brelyna began talking. "Well Vilkas and Farkas I am betrothed to your brother who was too shy to ask me himself." She said with a sly smirk. "Ah sounds about right I still remember when he tried to ask that battle-born las…" I cut Vilkas off and said "Don't remind me about her or I will reveal your little crush on a certain grey hair las related to our resident smith." I said in a warning tone. That got Vilkas to shut up. "So Farkas are there any free beds that we could use for our time here while we gather supplies to go to the ruins of fort dawnguard." I ask. "Yes Haraldor there are always empty beds here in Jorrvaskr for you to use. Also why are you going to poke around those ruins?" Farkas asked me. "Well me and Brelyna are going to do some field study about vampires and an old orc passed by the college looking for people to head to fort dawnguard to gather forces to fight against a vampire threat." I tell my two shield brothers and it was feeling like the good old days when I come with information about a job and they want to join.
"Well the jobs around here have been kinda lacking lately so could we join you as added protection?" Vilkas asked me. "Well why not. Brelyna do you have any objections to them coming along?" I ask her. "I don't have any objections with this arrangement. Oh I can't wait to hear the stories you have about Haraldor here." She said with a smile. The two twins got a matching pair of mischievous smirks as they said "We would love to tell tales of our brother to you." All I could do was mutter "By the love of Talos they will be the death of me." Then Farkas said "Do you want to hear the tale of Haraldor and the tiny troll?" I ran over to him and covered his mouth. Brelyna just giggled and said "I would love to hear it some day."
Normal POV
It took about two weeks to gather all the supplies for a non-stop trip to the ruins of Fort dawnguard. Haraldor and his small party managed to get horses to ride on and Brelyna decided not ride her horse but to ride with Haraldor instead which made everyone use it as a pack horse. The journey to the fort took two whole months to complete. Most of it was walking through soggy mud from the autumn rain that was cold and dreary. They were rushing against time to make it to the ruins before the snow came in and making it impossible to traverse the pass that lead to the fort. The party was attacked by a bunch of wildlife and bandits trying to take their stuff but they managed to make it out of most of the encounters unscaved.
One night during Haraldor's turn for watch, Brelyna came up to him and pulled him aside and out of view of the others and they became more intimate with each other. From that night they were closer and Haraldor had to endure the taunts from his two brothers about it causing Brelyna to blush and divert her eyes whenever they brought it up. They made it to the pass just as the first snows of winter started to fall and saw a young farmer's boy ahead of them. He was apparently heading to Fort Dawnguard as well to join them to fight the vampire menace. They made it inside the valley and headed to where Haraldor and the others saw rudimentary defences that were just recently built outside the massive stone fort. There they saw the old orc who came by the college shooting a strange looking bow. "Have you never seen a crossbow boy?" With a head shake the old orc sighed. "Well I guess you wouldn't because they were designed just recently and they hold a strong first punch but are slow to reload. Great for stunning the leeches. My name is Morgrul by the way." Morgrul explained to us as we walked up to the gates of the fort. "Haraldor, the two twins are Vilkas and Farkas, and my lady companion is Brelyna. Me and her are here to do field research on vampires and we heard that you were asking for help against a vampire menace." Morgrul looked at us and said "You best talk with Isran he is in charge of the new dawnguard." With that he stops and heads back to where he was shooting as we head into the fort.

Just to clear things up Haraldor is 17 at the moment and yes he is a prodigy mage. He might rival dumbles because face it magic on Nirn is more powerful than on earth.
