Hey everyone, I'm sorry but this isn't exactly a conventional second chapter, just thought that since it's been a while, that I would pop in & do a quick update & review answering session. First & foremost, I would like to make it very clear that this fic is not dead or abandoned, I am definitely still working on it & will do so well into the future so rest assured, chapter 2 is on the way, the delay is purely due to some issues in my personal life, had a horrible bout of sickness barely a week after chapter one was published, then got hit by a bike & spent some time in the hospital, suffice it to say, I've had a shit few months or so & I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to find the time to update & work on this fic.
Thankfully I'm doing much better now & so, I'm delighted to say that at long last, chapter 2 should be headed your way within the next few days or so, once I hear back from a few people who help keep my insanity & propensity for using waay too many brackets in check. I can't reveal too much about what's going on in that particular part of the story but be advised that a lot of familiar, if slightly unexpected faces will be popping up in it so make sure to stock up on your side character love!
As for the story in general, some of you may have noticed that we've had a bit of a name change, don't worry, it's merely one that i feel better reflects the scope of this tale ( Let's just say that y'all ain't ready for Act 2!) , none of the actual content or style is changing, in fact it's only getting infinitely more awesome !
Now that that's out of the way, I thought I'd address some of the reviews that the fic has received( a massive thank you to anybody who took the time to do so, you have no idea how much it means to me, it's honestly what kept me going through those bad months, even if you didn't comment it's cool, still means a lot) cause i honestly have no idea how else to do it in this complicated set-up that ffnet have got here.
First things first though, I heard all of you loud & clear , I will try my best to fix the issues regarding the paragraphs & sentences during next few chapters, it will take a while but i promise you that it is being looked at & it is a part of why chapter 2's editing process has been a tad bit overdrawn.
Onto the individual stuff!
Guest- Hello to you as well! I'm glad that you enjoyed reading it, hope you will continue to do so in the future as well! The idea was actually borne out an argument with a friend about Percy's true bff & it just spurred me into trying to do something that would help Grover reclaim a tiny,tiny bit of the love & recognition that he deserves from the fandom. As for the sentences, I'm trying hard to fix that, still not there but it should be a lot better come chapter two!
annanbeth-queen- Hey, I'm so sorry that I'm taking this long, really wasn't the plan at all , I hate it myself when authors do this but life happens ig & just derails your best laid plans. Chapter 2 & 3 are ready but very much in the midst of the editing process so it will be a little while longer, I'm hoping to have something up by Wednesday at the latest so keep an eye out for that. Hope you're enjoying the story!
JustRandom- Before I address the stuff in it, just wanted to let you know that this comment made my day when I managed to find it & really helped spur me on to finish chapter 2 so thank you so so much for that

The Percy thing was honestly not planned, just one of those things that just happened to work out!
If you like references, and I think you do, you will love this fic, chapter 2 has a whole bunch of them & Act 2 & parts of 3 are basically a giant tribute act so stick around for all those! Shit goes nuts.
There is some backstory & exposition still left that will be covered in the next few chapters but it's done in what I hope is a more seamless way so don't worry, I only did that large scale info dump because I wanted to place a lot of emphasis on the origins of the percy & grover friendship without it getting lost elsewhere.
Yeah their friendship truly is wholesome & I hope to do my best to represent it throughout this story.
The stuff like that in the brackets can be interpreted as me directly talking to you guys ( and it kinda is sometimes), but also as the characters themselves just breaking the fourth wall & going nuts ( Nico & Percy are uncannily good at this), thank you for saying that, really does mean a lot as a first time fanfic writer. I really hope it isn't beginners luck cause I have a giant ass master-plan for the story & I really want to execute that to the best of my abilities.
Yeah I am a bit of a word nerd, side effect of reading since I was a tiny fuzzball ig. It's also slightly intended for Grover to be a bit contemplative & shit sometimes simply because of his affinity to people & the natural world, he goes full blown philosopher king with Annabeth during a trek to Oly- I mean nothing, nowhere , you didn't read that, it's all a lie !
Yeah they do be major dorks, some serious LARPing happens in the fic, ngl.
During the early drafts, all the dams were written in the proper way but grammar check kept throwing a hissy fit about it so i just ended up adding the mortal n in there to shut it up, the origins of the joke is replicated, albeit with a few minor tweaks, in this fic & from there, it just spreads all over the dam place, so keep an eye out!
That's exactly what I was going for, hope chapter 2 has the same effect! Yup, he's in here( The Brick thing will be addressed), so are Beckendorf & Silena( Those two play a particularly pivotal role towards the end of Act one, really can't say more), Nico & Will are literally referenced in the first chapter as you have probably discovered, several others show up during chapter 2, basically everyone you know & love within the riordanverse will make an appearance in this fic & wil get some proper time in the sun, for example, bit of a spoiler but the Heist chapters go to a whole new level once the residents of a certain hotel check in.
The chair thing was honestly just this rando idea i tossed in cause i thought it sounded fun, but it really does encapsulate the Annabethian way to life doesn't it. She is a delight to write during the fic, purely because of the contrast she offers to Percy not just in terms of their relationship but in terms of her friendship with Grover which just leads to a ton of fun stuff happening ( chapter 2 is just a hint of that).
Luke is not one of the drunk guys, love the idea though, could be a great retcon, but as of now, while he is referenced in the fic, it is much later on & in far greater detail.
Yup, I give you, proto- solangelo! The Amount of emotional madness that Grover has to wade through when it comes to those two is just staggering, dude deserves a medal for it.
The Percy describing Annabeth parts & vice versa are the hardest for me to write so I'm glad to know that they're coming off. Just wait till until those two actually meet, it's literal sonnets & thesis papers from then on.
Grover is designed to be that personification of the reader so I am super happy that that's coming out as well.

Yeah the spacing is all over the place, that's purely down to the way that ffnet have structured the site, am trying to circumvent it though.
Been more than a week hasn't it , I am so so sorry for that but once chapter 2 is up, things should start moving quite smoothly in terms of updates & stuff so just treat this a temp blimp, a several month long blimp that will hopefully end real soon.
