"Moses. Moses!"

The scout regiment endured the shame of the public on the central street in Shiganshina. Commander Shades, a positively charged magnet drawing in all of the negativity almost like an unwilling scapegoat.

Kōsoku had graduated two weeks ago from the cadet corps choosing to join the survey corps with Oluo, Petra, Moblit, Nanaba, Gelgar, Lynne and Henning. Your first expedition was said to be glorious and worth fighting for and very reminiscent of World War enlistment propaganda once you learn the dark truth. Kōsoku viewed the scouts as a clear objective, a purpose for him to have after living so many years aimlessly. But the clear objective was a fog obstructing the real truth of where he was heading. Out of the corner of his eye Kōsoku saw two children no older than ten carrying firewood on their back gazing admirably at the returning soldiers.

He was a wreck, both his physical and mental states were being supported by a tower of cards because if someone breathed on him the wrong way he wasn't sure he would stay standing. The large bandage covering the bloody remains of his right ear didn't make him look healthier. Suddenly he felt a hand make contact with his left shoulder and instantly jolted his head to face behind him like it was some reflex.

"Are you sure you don't need to go to the infirmary Kō? If Section commander Erwin hadn't helped when he did the titan would've bitten more than just one ear off." Moblit advised, his care for Kōsoku's health being blatant.

"Having two ears isn't necessary, one does the job just fine." Kōsoku told Moblit in response before continuing on his horse with the destination being the Trost district but he didn't make it very far before his body gave way and he fell right off the left side of his horse and collided with the pavement.

Moblit quickly departed with his horse and rushed to see if Kōsoku was okay and noticed that he was the furthest from okay he could've been whilst still being alive. He needed a doctor pretty quickly and he was barely responsive to anything Moblit did. Moments later a milk-chocolate brown coloured horse belonging to Miche.

"What happened recruit?" Miche asked already having an assumption as to what had happened.

"He just collapsed and his condition isn't looking good, I doubt he'll make it to Trost."

Miche and Moblit were leading three horses through the narrow streets of Shiganshina, one of which cradled an unconscious Kōsoku. Commander Shadis had told them that a doctor named Grisha Yeager lived nearby and would be willing to help. Thankfully most of the citizens in Shiganshina knew where Doctor Yeager lived and were happy to give directions.

Once the trio of scouts arrived at the house they were told belonged to Doctor Yeager Moblit walked to the door and was about to knock when the door was opened from the inside by a man that he assumed was Grisha Yeager. The Doctor looked at them for a second before asking them what they wanted.

"Excuse me, my friend here is in bad shape and commander Shadis said that you might be willing to help." Moblit politely asked the doctor who looked at his watch in response before muttering, "I've got time" under his breath. Grisha came to the conclusion that Kōsoku had an extreme confusion as well as multiple serious external wounds.

After being patched up Miche and Moblit began to head for the inside wall hoping to make it to Trost as soon as possible. However their plans were cut short when they heard a lightning strike followed by a massive tremor caused by the biggest titan either of them had ever seen. It's head poked over the wall and looked down upon the population to Shiganshina like they were insignificant ants in comparison to itself. His face lacked skin causing his face to look zombie like. At this exact moment both Moblit and Miche knew that this was going to be humanities darkest hour.

Kōsoku woke up in the middle of a field lying on his back. The field extended beyond his vision until it didn't. Suddenly fog engulfed the field causing Kōsoku to quickly stand up and turn around multiple times to make sure that the fog was spread around all 360 degrees of his body. The fog slightly parted just in front of him for a small portion of the ground to become visible. There was a petunia. No it wasn't a petunia; It was a blood stained daisy. The same flower that Kōsoku's blood had disgraced. What was it doing here? Was it laughing at him.

"Help. Someone. Anyone. Please. Help!" Kōsoku heard a strange voice and found that the fog was gone, but so was the daisy and the field. It felt like he was sinking into nothingness, being absorbed by life itself. Sinking next to him was a pitch black orb that felt alluring, it was tempting him to reach for it.

He used his left hand to grab a hold of it and felt as his eyes opened which felt strange because he thought his eyes were already open. Suddenly he was in a battleground, surrounded by titans feasting on humans; In a town?

"Help. Please. Somebody!" Kōsoku turned his head to his left to see a woman with two young children trapped at the end of a one-way alley being approached by a titan.

"Please, somebody help us!" The woman shouted again. Kōsoku felt drowsy and his head hurt beyond belief and his limbs felt like they were on fire, but that didn't stop him. He used his ODM gear to latch onto the back of the titan's head before pulling himself in and in a fluent motion cutting through the nape and crashing through a window of a house.

He lay down and put the pieces together in his brain for a moment before realising what was happening and muttering, "Oh shit" under his breath.

Sorry that this chapter was a bit short, the best one will be longer. Thank you for reading and if you have any suggestions please leave them in the reviews. Thanks :)
