Chapter 7
Hokage's Tower
"So you're telling me that you took fresh out of the academy genin to an A-rank mission?" asked a fuming Sarutobi. "W-well Lord Hokage, they made a convincing argument " said Kakashi pointing at the genin. "Don't bring the genin into this Kakashi, you are supposed to be the adult here!" yelled the Hokage.
"God, this is uncomfortable to watch" said Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto nodded "An adult getting scolded is not something you see everyday" said the avenger. "Well I'm out of here" said Naruto walking out the door, later followed by the couple.
"Next time use that head of yours Kakashi, or I'll have Kurenai burn all those books of yours do you understand me?" threatened Sarutobi. "Y-yes L-lord Hokage" said a shivering Kakashi. "Now then where are your students Kakashi?" asked Sarutobi. "Sir they left a while ago" said one of the ANBU guards in the office. "Never mind, Kakashi are you sure Naruto knows about his parents?" asked Sarutobi. Kakashi nodded, Sarutobi sighed "I'll have to call Jiraiya to see him" Kakashi sweatdropped "Are you sure that is wise Lord Hokage, Naruto has a deep hatred towards his father and if he finds out that Master Jiraiya is his godfather the already fragile trust Naruto has towards the village will shatter" said Kakashi
Sarutobi sighed in that brief moment Kakashi saw how truly old the Hokage was. "Out of all my failures in my life Naruto's upbringing has to be the biggest" said Sarutobi. "I remember when he used to be the happiest child I've ever seen, until the incident" continued the aged leader. "He never failed to bring a smile to everyone's face huh Lord Hokage?" said Kakashi. Sarutobi smiled "Tell me about the duel with Zabuza" Kakashi had a look of awe in his eyes. "I don't know where to start Lord Hokage, but it happened like this..."
Higurashi's weapons and ninja gear shop
A brown haired girl was sitting on the counter bored out of her mind. This girl's name was Tenten Higurashi one of the strongest kunoichi in Konoha despite her bieng 15 years old. Her proficiency in bukijutsu made her well known in the Elemental Continent as the 'Weapon Mistress of Konoha.' You may be wondering how a kunoichi of her calibre is currently a cashier in a weapons shop, well her father was the student of the legendary blacksmith Tenguyama Hitetsu. That meant her father was Konoha's top blacksmith, and her mother one of Konoha's top seamstress who then decided to open up a weapons shop.
The young woman was bored out of her mind when the door opened and she saw the village pariah enter. Tenten's opinion on Naruto Uzumaki was in high regard, Naruto was the only boy around her age group who can go toe to toe with her in kenjutsu and beat her like a newly minted Genin.
"Hey Naruto, what brings you here?" asked Tenten. "Yo Ten, I've got something that will blow your mind" Now her curiosity got piqued "What is it?" asked the excited kunoichi. "Call your dad first" said Naruto. Tenten sighed in frustration "Wait here" said Tenten. A few minutes later the kunoichi came back with her father. Toushiro Higurashi was a large man with powerful arms and a stern face, with brown eyes that held mischief and wisdom within them.
"Naruto! It's been a while" said Toushiro giving the blonde boy a bone crushing hug. "So what do you need, new gear or my daughter's hand in marriage" said the blacksmith. Tenten's face turned red "Daaaad!" whined the kunoichi. "I'm just playing Tenten, so Naruto what is it you wanted to show us?" said Toushiro. Naruto unsealed Wado Ichimonji.
"I-it can't be!" said Tenten, Toushiro was shocked as well at seeing the legendary sword. "Never in my life I'd thought to see Wado Ichimonji with my own eyes" said the blacksmith with stars in his eyes. "Magnificent!" said Tenten with hearts in her eyes. "Where did you find it?" asked Toushiro. "Gatô the shipping magnate had the sword in his vault" said Naruto, "How did he get his hands on it?" asked Tenten. "That is a mystery" said Naruto. "C-can I hold it?" asked Toushiro as Naruto handed him the sword. "Never have I thought I'd see one of the blades forged from my own Country again" said Toushiro.
"Kozaburo Shimotsuki's masterpiece right before my eyes" said Toushiro "I'm assuming that you'll be wielding the sword" said Toushiro. Naruto nodded, "Wait, Naruto if you'll be wielding Wado Ichimonji where are the swords I made for you?" asked Tenten. Naruto started sweating "Umm, well funny story actually" Tenten's eye started twitching "Get to the point Naruto" said Tenten. "They shattered" said Naruto "Oh did they?" said Tenten with a dark aura surrounding her. "Look it wasn't my fault" said Naruto "I know Naruto" sweetly said Tenten "W-what's with the kunai " fearfully said Naruto. The blonde looked around and saw that Toushiro was nowhere to be found. That day all Konoha males felt sorry for their fallen brother in the hands of an enraged female.
A few hours later Kasumi Higurashi was greeted with a bruised and bleeding Naruto on the floor, Tenten whistling a happy tune while taking stock and her husband gushing over a sword. "What's going on here? and why is Naruto on the floor?" asked Kasumi. "Naruto broke the swords I made for him" said Tenten. Kasumi quickly understood and went upstairs to cook dinner.
Hokage's Tower
Hiruzen Sarutobi's jaw was on the floor after hearing Kakashi's tale. "He has mastery over Armament Haki! I thought Kosuke was joking" said a flabbergasted Sarutobi. "Old friend I never joke about such things" said Kosuke. "Where do you come from?" asked Sarutobi "your door was open" said Kosuke. Sarutobi sweatdropped as he prepared his pipe. "That is not tobacco Hiruzen" said Kosuke "Don't judge me old friend" chirped Sarutobi. Kakashi was curious about what Sarutobi was putting in his pipe. "Umm Lord Hokage what is this herbal looking powder?" asked Kakashi. The two shinobi legends smirked "Well Kakashi my dear boy this is the holy plant, it comes in many strains and many names but it's commonly known as Weed" said Sarutobi as he lit up his pipe, a strong herbal scent started engulfing the room. Sarutobi smokes his pipe already feeling the effects of the holy plant, "Ooh yes that feels good" said Sarutobi as he passed the pipe to Kosuke who took a drag and passed it to Kakashi. "Come on Kakashi just one hit" said Kosuke.
Naruto's Loft
Naruto stepped out of the bathroom after taking a shower and went through his closet. As the blonde started to put on his clothes he sensed someone in the bedroom "You know, most people knock when they visit someone" said Naruto. "We've went through this Naruto I'm not most people" said the mysterious figure, Naruto sighed "What do you want Anko?" The now revealed Anko smirked "What do I need a reason to visit my favourite little blonde brat?" Naruto rolled his eyes as he went to the kitchen.
"You know kid this is a nice place" said Anko as she sat at the breakfast bar. "Most of the furniture isn't from Fire Country" said the purple-haired kunoichi. "It's all imported" said Naruto as he poured himself and Anko some tea. "What do you mean it's all imported?" asked Anko. "The wooden floor is from Bird Country, the counter tops are from Earth Country, appliances are from Snow Country, couch is from River Country and my bed, pillows and blankets are all from Wind Country.
"Wait so you're telling me that everything besides the light bulbs are from other Countries?" said Anko. Naruto nodded "Where did you get the money? Stuff like this is expensive" said Anko. Naruto knew he couldn't lie to the woman in front of him. Anko Mitarashi one of the top interrogators in the Elemental Continent, she also was the former student of Orochimaru the Serpent King, and she also has a sadistic side. "Two years ago I was a pro underground boxer" casually said Naruto. Anko laughed when she saw that Naruto was serious, "Wait you're telling me that you were fighting against grown men at 11 years old?" said Anko, Naruto nodded. "Damn kid you're just full of surprises aren't you?" said the purple-haired kunoichi. Naruto nodded "I'll ask you again Anko what do you want?" said Naruto.
Anko smirked "buy me dango and I'll tell you" Naruto groaned 'here she goes again' thought the blonde. "I'm kidding Naruto, there's someone who wants to see you at the dango café" said Anko "sure I'll be there tomorrow, now can you leave I have to do my laundry, and water my plants" said Naruto as he pushed the purple-haired kunoichi out the door. 'Finally peace, Shikamaru was right women are a drag' thought Naruto as he prepared to do his laundry.
Somewhere in Konoha a pineapple-haired boy in a hammock sneezed.
Training Ground 7- Next Morning
The sounds of heavy taijutsu sparring was heard throughout the training ground as Kakashi and Sakura sparred with one another. Sakura came with an impressive left and right jab combo that made Kakashi dizzy as they connected with the masked jônin's face. 'What's with these kids getting stronger at blinding rates?' thought Kakashi as he dodged an axe kick from his female student which he followed up with a roundhouse kick which sent his female student flying.
"Alright Sakura that's enough for now" said Kakashi. Sakura sighed in relief as she went to get a bottle of water from her bag. "You know when you asked for individual training I was a bit surprised" said Kakashi. "I wanted to ask you, where are Naruto and Sasuke?" asked Sakura. "Well Naruto's probably working on his one sword techniques and Sasuke is reading through the theory of the Sharingan before he uses it, so it's me and you for the entire month" said Kakashi. "Kakashi-sensei can you teach me thing Naruto used against Zabuza?" asked the pink-haired kunoichi. Kakashi raised an eyebrow "You want to learn how to use Haki?" said Kakashi. Sakura nodded "Do you even know what Haki is?" asked Kakashi. Sakura shook her head.
Kakashi sighed "Alright, Haki is the manifestation of the wielders will." said Kakashi "there are two common types of Haki they are Observation Haki and Armament Haki." continued Kakashi "Observation Haki is a form of Haki that grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others, as well as gain limited precognitive abilities." said Kakashi. "The usage of this type of Haki grants its user the ability to access a kind of extrasensory perception, granting the user several helpful abilities. These abilities are great assets in most occasions, especially in combat." continued Kakashi. "The most common usage of this Haki allows the user to sense the presence of others, to fully master this ability would allow the user to see others, even if they are concealed from view or too far to see naturally.
This type of Haki allows the user to see another person through the aura, be it behind buildings, strategically hidden, or camouflaged. Given this, Observation Haki, depending on the level, can discover who is hidden, but still present. When viewed this way, the user cannot actually see the person or animal with any physical characteristics, but rather recognizes the target(s) by their 'aura', which is a mental image of a colored silhouette of them on a dark background." lectured Kakashi. Sakura took notes on a notepad that came out of nowhere. Kakashi sweatdropped as he continued, "The other one is 'Strength Sensing, whereby this application of Haki allows the user to measure the strength of the people whose presence they sense. This usage of Haki is useful in finding 'powerful auras'.Through this application, the user can easily locate powerful allies and avoid powerful enemies." said Kakashi.
"A highly advanced level of Observation Haki allows the user to see a short period into the future; instead of just sensing what will happen by intuition, the user of this advanced level of Observation Haki can literally see a precise mental image of what will happen in the immediate future. Contrary to basic Haki, there is no need to sense emotions or intention to use this technique. According to Tobirama Senju, this ability is very difficult to obtain via training, it has to be learned by advancing their Haki in the heat of battle against stronger opponents" said Kakashi.
Sakura was flabbergasted "Kakashi-sensei did you say you can see the future with your will?" Kakashi nodded "My sensei could see a full minute into the future" said Kakashi. "Wow the Fourth was amazing" said Sakura in awe.
"Now for the second one" said Kakashi. "Armament Haki is a form of Haki that allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible armour around themselves, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities." said Kakashi
"Hardening is the most basic application of Armament Haki. The user clads their desired body part with a coating which is mostly black, but can also have shadings of a different colour" said Kakashi. "With Hardening, the affected body part becomes stronger in terms of both offense and defense. Hardening increases one's attack power by a considerable amount, allowing the user's blows to become tremendously destructive and dangerous.
Defensively, Hardening serves as an armor which can safeguard the user from a great amount of attacks, particularly ones which are not clad in Haki themselves." said Kakashi."Armament Haki users can also harden any object they touch to imbue it with Armament, thus allowing them to give weapons the same boosts as they do to their own body. Imbued weapons gain a new degree of offensive power for example Naruto's duel with Zabuza" said Kakashi.
"Sufficiently skilled users of Armament Haki are capable of letting the power flow out from a part of their body (usually their hand) and unleash a small invisible burst which will knock back anything in their body part's immediate vicinity with the force of a very powerful punch. Thus, the user becomes capable of striking and harming people and objects without making physical contact with them." concluded the masked jônin.
"How does one train in Haki Kakashi-sensei?" asked Sakura. "Well, Training to learn Observation Haki involves dodging various types of attacks while blindfolded, as well as counterattacking while blindfolded. One first trains by fighting against animals, and later against humans. Observation Haki is easier to use against animals because they always show their emotions and act on instinct, unlike humans who are capable of deception.
The most important thing to remember is that every attack carries an intent, and a hint." lectured Kakashi. "And that's after you awaken it" said Kakashi "How do you awaken it sensei?" asked Sakura. Kakashi eye smiled at his student's willingness to learn " In some cases, an individual does not need to train in order to attain and use Observation Haki. Some people acquire it unconsciously within tense situations, while others are born with the ability to use it, like the Hyūga and Uchiha Clans and some members of the Inuzuka and Yamanaka Clans" said Kakashi.
"Wait so you're telling me that pig Ino and the walking rabies can use Observation Haki?" said Sakura with a tick mark on her head "Well they are from the main families if their Clans so maybe?" sheepishly said Kakashi. "And as for Armament Haki well that's where I come in I'm going to put you through the most intense training of your life" chirped Kakashi. Sakura gulped, but her eyes showed a fierce determination only a few ever possess in their lives.
Naka Shrine
Beneath the main hall is a secret chamber, in the chamber there was a stone monument that can be read with a dôjutsu
Sasuke Uchiha stood in front of the stone trying to decipher the writing on the stone and failing. The avenger sighed as he deactivated his Sharingan 'I guess I need a higher level of the Sharingan to read the rest of the tablet' thought Sasuke.
The avenger exited the room, and started to walk through the labyrinth that was the Uchiha Clan's secret catacombs until he entered a massive library. With a few handsigns the torches in the library lit up. Sasuke smiled in excitement 'Time to get to work' thought Sasuke as he shut the doors of the library.
Dango Café
Yugao Uzūki was a nervous wreck, because today she was going to ask to teach the kenjutsu genius Naruto Uzumaki. "Relax Yugao, you're an ANBU Captain and he's a fresh out of the academy genin" said Kurenai. Anko frowned "Naruto Uzumaki is not your normal Genin" Kurenai rolled her eyes "Just because he killed a Chūnin after graduating from the academy, doesn't make him that much stronger than any of the other Genin in the village"
Anko smirked "Well he is leagues away from his classmates that's for sure. The only Genin in the village who can possibly go toe to toe with him are Guy's brats and Kosuke" Kurenai looked amused "Anko I'm a woman of facts Naruto Uzumaki was listed as the dead last with no potential to be higher than a Chūnin level ninja"
"Ouch that's a little harsh" said Naruto as he approached the group of women. "Naruto! Can you pwease buy me dango" said Anko with puppy eyes. Naruto rolled his eyes "You know that doesn't work on me." Anko sighed "Well it was worth a try. See you guys later" and with a quick body flicker the purple-haired kunoichi left." I have to leave as well, I have to meet my team in the next few minutes" said Kurenai as she politely left the Café.
Naruto looked at the nervous kunoichi at the table, the blonde decided to sit down and order some dango while giving the woman time to calm her nerves. "So... what's your name?" asked Naruto. Yugao raised her eyebrow "You know its not polite to ask someone's name without saying yours first" Naruto chuckled "Everyone knows my name, so it's kinda a moot point. So are you going to tell me your name or do I have to call you pretty ANBU lady" Yugao laughed "I have a boyfriend and you shouldn't say that I'm an ANBU agent in public"
Naruto finished up the last of his dango as he looked at the woman across from him "Anko said you wanted to see me" said Naruto. "Yes I-i want to teach you kenjutsu" said Yugao. Naruto sighed "No offence lady I've been teaching myself kenjutsu for the past six years why would I need a teacher?" Yugao looked at the boy in front of her "I know that you aren't good at one sword techniques, I'm willing to help you refine them" Naruto unsealed a drinking gourd and a saucer "Look I'm flattered that you want to teach me, but how do I know that you're the real deal?"
Before Yugao can answer a group of civilians entered the café "Demon brat you're not welcome here" said one of the civilians. "Why not?" asked Yugao "Naruto has a right to eat here like everyone else" continued the violet-haired kunoichi. "Shut up bitch, this is a respectable village we don't serve Demon's here right everyone?" said the man as the group cheered. In a burst of speed the man's head was separated from his shoulders by a pissed off Yugao. "As a kunoichi of Konohagakure no sato I have duty to keep the peace here, so if you want to end up like your friend I suggest you leave" snarled Yugao. The group of civilians ran away from the scene as the body disposal team took the headless man's body away.
"Alright I'm convinced, so when does training start" said a excited Naruto. Yugao smiled "Training starts tomorrow morning at training ground 13" said the violet-haired kunoichi.
Undisclosed Location
"The representative of Iron Country is leaving the protection of the Hidden Leaf to return home" said a mysterious figure. "Well strike when the time is right" said another figure. "The time will come for The Five to rise" said another figure. "Isn't that right leader?" said the first figure looking at a figure sitting on a makeshift throne. "It's almost time my comrades" said the leader "The chaos that the Fourth Great Ninja War will cause will destroy the Elemental Continent, and from its ashes a new empire will rise" said the leader as he looked at a tied up man "Don't be afraid my good man your sacrifice will mark a beginning of an era!" exclaimed the mysterious leader. 'Boil Realease: Acid Drowning jutsu' as a bubble of acid started to form around the man burning his flesh all the way to his bones as the five figures left the room.
