And we are back!

For those who have read the series, the opening of this chapter may seem a little familiar, however I really liked the symmetry, especially as how similar two of my characters have turned out being.

Hope you all are staying safe in these new and interesting times we are all living in

"I know the owner, or at least I am hoping I know the owner!" She said with determination but a little confusion evident in her tone,

"Ok honey, I'll give you a lift."

After saying goodbye and thanks to her 'rescuers' and once again reassuring the two men that she was fine, the young woman made her way toward the legendary club. The two men had told her some tall tales on the journey over, a few of the stories she had giggled at, a few she had been wide eyed in surprise at before dissolving it giggles again. It turned out that the owner of the club seemed to cast a large and well known shadow to the residents of LA.

She could feel the music vibrating through the street as walked straight passed the line of hot and sexy partygoers, all eager to have their inhibitions lowered, ready for a night of 'sin'. As she passed, a few of the crowd gave her a once over, some whispered comments and a few pointed and laughed at the least glamorous of guests passed by, seemingly a little wide eyed and slightly dazed by the exclusive nature of the club and its patrons.

As she neared the head of the line, she could see the two man mountains of bouncers and instantly decided she may need a different approach, she felt extremely out of her element right now, it wasn't if she went to fancy clubs or tried her luck at gaining early entry ahead of people who had clearly been queuing for some time, but what other choice did she have? She needed some help or at least some answers. If she was refused entry, she could always fly up to the penthouse and seek out the owner or maybe go to the LAPD and see if she could find a bubbly CSI she had had the pleasure of meeting a few months earlier or should she seek out a random Detective she had heard about from her new friends? She decided to continue to move forward.

The velvet rope blocked her path denying her entry, she could feel what felt like a thousand pairs of eyes on her, for the first time in a long while she felt a little small and unquestionable nervous.

"You ok miss?" One of the bouncers asked as she stopped Infront of them, she nodded but could clearly see their eyes give her a once over, both with sceptical expressions on their faces. She couldn't help but notice the small nods the two gave each other but neither man was giving off any creepy vibes, just concern, concern for a young woman who for all intents and purposes looked like she had been dragged backwards through a hedge.

"Miss, if you're in trouble, or need some help? Here, you better come in!" The bouncer unclipped the rope and ushered her inside, offering his arm for support, one which she took with thanks and a small blush. She was not usually the one to play a damsel in distress or be one! This time though, she was alone and cut off from her friends and family, being on a completely different world she had to accept and she needed help, maybe this is a little like how Barry had felt when they had first met all those years before when he had accidently ended up on her former earth she mused.

The bouncer led her through the crowds of gyrating bodies, she could see a piano holding centre stage, being played beautify and with so much strength and emotion, she couldn't help but feel moved, it was clear that the patrons felt the same as they had flocked to the man as if he was giving a sermon she smiled a little at that thought despite herself, "here, take a seat miss, I'll catch the Boss once he's finished, sure he will want to talk to you, he loathes seeing anyone mistreated! Hey Patrick, get the woman a drink!" The bouncer called across the bar,

"Yeah no problem at all, miss?" Patrick waited patiently for an order, he too had a look of concern on his face

"Lemonade will be fine!" The young woman gave him a small smile,

"Want any vodka in that?" His face made it clear that very few people probably ordered soft drinks in this place but didn't argue or question the order any further,

"No, thank you, I am not much of a drinker!" She smiled at the man again who simply shrugged and moved behind the bar to fetch the drink. Turning back to the crowd she could clearly see the bouncer was whispering into the musicians ear who simply nodded and continued playing, after he had finished speaking the bouncer disappeared back into the crowd and towards the main entrance, as he reached the bottom of the stairs he looked over to where the young woman was perched on a surprisingly comfortable bar stool and gave her a brief smile and a nod, reassuring her that she was now safe and everything would now be taken care of.

It warmed her heart that even here on this new world people were decent and kind, this was why she always fought so hard to save them, that capacity for good and empathy always moved her.

After seeing that simple act from a stranger, she couldn't help but feel a little bit better and more relaxed. So while she waited from the owner to finish his set and hopefully come to help her, she just allowed the music to wash over her, she wasn't sure what was being played but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel like it was directed at her, Rao! The Devil was good! Being distracted by the music, she completely missed the dark skinned leather clad woman slide up beside her,

"Well, you look like crap!" The voice was direct but not without feeling,

"It has been a long day!" She responded as she turned to face the new woman at her side,

"Not from around here are you?" The new woman ignored her statement and just seemed to be sizing her up, it also seemed like she was a little impressed judging by the look on her face, "been a long while since I have seen the like of you!"

"The likes of me?" Confusion clearly evident in her tone,

"Non-human, non-demon or angel, by the smell of you I am going with Kryptonian!" The woman seemed smug in her announcement.

"Yes, wait how did you know?" The young woman was baffled,

"The smell, like I said!" The dark skinned woman gave her a look that screamed 'why is this not obvious?!' "Thought you all died?"

"Some survived!" Defiance rose slightly in her tone,

"Spent some time with you lot, all high and mighty, arrogant bastards!" The dark skinned woman seemed non-plussed either way,

"Some were….wait, what do you mean you spent some time with them? Do you have a D.E.O here? Are you an Alien too?" A small sense of hope had crawled back into the young woman's voice, maybe there were more allies she could call on,

"D.E.O? No idea what that is and don't care, not alien either, you missy are clearly far from home!" The smirk was almost animalistic, like a wild animal had caught her pray and she was that prey.

"Rao!"

"Not quite and once Miss Danvers you are calling our for the wrong deity!"

"Lucifer?"
