A/N. Hey everyone, glad to see you back and I hope you are all well?

Sorry it has been a while since I last updated this story but I kinda run into a block thanks to a few reviews I have found inspiration again :-)

Just to let you know I am not a forensic tech or have any real knowledge on the subject so please don't crucify me for what is coming

Anyway, back to it, hope you enjoy

Eventually the three arrived at the 'crime scene', Lucifer was the first out of the car, making short time covering the distance from the kerb to the police tape, he raised it awaiting his two partners and then he paused to address the nearest officer, "Sandra, how lovely to see you, how have you been?"

"Oh, hey Lucifer," Officer Sandra Perez smiled, "I've been good and thank you again for putting me in touch with that tutor, my son's grades have improved across the board," Lucifer batted the gratitude off,

"It was my pleasure my dear, the Professor has told me that your spawn is truly gifted and has been a joy to help." Sandra allowed the pride to shine though her smile.

Kara glanced over to the Detective noticing her small smile of fondness, "what's that about?"

"Lucifer!" Chloe grinned,

"Yes, well I get that but?" Kara stammered a little and then blushed,

"Lucifer is well… Lucifer." Chloe smiled at the young reporter before continuing,

"Ella said something very similar to me when we fist met, didn't have an answer for her then either!" Kara grinned,

"The man is a walking contradiction. Did you know he knows every single person at the precinct by name, the brass, detectives, the officers, support staff, even the janitorial staff?" Kara shook her head and gave a little shrug her eyes watching the Devil interact with this random officer with a little smile,

"He hates the mundane and boring lives of us humans that we impose on ourselves and as he calls them the 'petty rules', at least ninety percent of all police procedural work but he still comes back every day and helps." Chloe paused not wanting this to sound like a rant, "don't tell him I know but last week one of the janitors had complained that he was struggling to pay his wife's medical bills, the next day the debt had been cleared by an anonymous benefactor."

"Did he take credit for it?" Kara nodded over to Lucifer. She was genuinely curious now. Chloe was opening up to her and giving her a big insight into the Devil,

"With how he likes to credit for everything?" Chloe smirked, "no, never, not with something like that, he is not one for actual genuine gratitude or affection, like he doesn't deserve it!" Chloe looked a little sad following her last statement but then brightened, "if he had found my stapler though, I I'd still be hearing about it!" Chloe was laughing and Kara joined in, she could just imagine the scene. Kara was realising the Devil was complicated and damaged being not the same person she had met on Barry's world, clearly he had been keeping his walls up then, Kara could understand why.

Lucifer, Chloe and Kara stood in the nicely presented living room of what most people would call a show house, everything was in its place, there was no evidence of a struggle, nothing seemed out of place at all, except for the large pool of blood on the rug.

"Weird!" Ella's voice broke the three out of their silent thoughts,

"What's weird Ella?" Chloe asked as she crouched down next to the young forensic tech, trying to see what it was Ella had seen.

"Well, everything!" Ella huffed, "there is clear signs that a body bled out here in this spot but there is no evidence of it being moved," she gave Lucifer a questioning look, "not by normal means anyway!" stressing that it might be some sort of supernatural type thing, he shrugged, "but then again, I can't find any evidence of a murder!" Ella looked like she had failed the team somehow, Kara rubbed her shoulder in support earning her a small smile,

"I'm confused, I thought you just said a body bled out?" Both Chloe and Kara asked in unison,

"Ah you guys are so cute!" Ella grinned at the two women but continued, "that's the thing, in order to cause this amount of blood lose, there would be splatter of some kind and there is none." Even Lucifer was now intrigued, three sets of eyes fell on Ella to continue the explanation, "with the concentrated area of the blood, the kill would have to have been instant otherwise there would be drag marks of some kind, you know the victim trying to craw away from the attacker but we don't see that." Ella took a pause, letting the three visualise what she was saying, they nodded, "there are none, so, instant kill!"

Lucifer, Chloe and Kara considered the implication, Kara not being used to normal murders was a bit out of her depth. Her new partners were not, she could see the wheels turning in their heads.

"And before you ask, no, a knife would have left either arterial spray if the throat was slit for example, so that would have given us plenty of evidence, like all over the place but no and there is no evidence of droplets caused by pulling the knife out and being flicked across the room either, unless we're unlucky enough and they were disguised by our blood pool here." Ella waved at the large stain on the rug,

Chloe nodded her head to Ella's statement,

"No evidence of GSR either, also a gun shot would be leaving us something more, small or large calibre weapon would leave some tell-tale signs and I'm just not seeing them. I am sorry guys but I'm coming to the conclusion that someone just poured a whole boatload of blood on the floor!"

That made some sort of sense but Ella was having a hard time believing it and by the look on her three friends face, so were they.

"Why on earth would someone do such a thing?" Kara asked into the air, no one answered.

Chloe pulled Kara to the side, leaving Lucifer and Ella to discuss other scenarios both earthly and not, "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, probably just as baffled by this as you?" Kara gave Chloe a warm smile,

"Welcome to our world!" As soon as the words had left her mouth Chloe was laughing and so was Kara, "oh I'm sorry." Chloe suddenly realised that the woman in front of her was currently disposed from her own world, Kara just waved it off and continued to grin. Chloe sobered,

"Have you had a chance to look around? With your powers?"

"No, no, not yet, give me a second?" Kara tipped her glasses and started scanning the room until she suddenly stopped in front on a concealed door behind a bookcase which appeared to lead down to a basement, "over here guys, I think I have found something!" Kara waved the others over.
