Mana glared at Kuri. "Really, little sister, I don't have time for this." She examined a nail.

Kuri snatched the phone away and messed with it for a few seconds.

"Hey! What're you—"

Kuri handed it back. "Destroying your little soul-sucking app once and for all. I'll be checking to see if the victims return to normal."

Mana desperately checked the Headspace app. Indeed, the photos of the girls were returning to normal. Her employer may come after HER soul next. She tried to regain her composure.

Suddenly Artemis' hand was on her shoulder. "Maybe you should tell us who the real mastermind is?"

"Yeah?" Mana wiped at her eyes. "And who the HELL made you the police of the family, huh, Kuri? First you get the Fowl boy involved, making him privy to family secrets, and then you let him find out about familiars, and NOW you really want to root out the secret behind my master? Your so self-righteous, you always have been. You wanted to be High Priestess, now you are. Protect the family, idiot!"

She said all this in rapid-fire Japanese, so Artemis couldn't interpret it fast enough. Genius he may be, but even he, without being a native speaker, couldn't interpret until the jaded Kuro Miko had made her exit.

Kuri sighed. "If we want to find out about her master, we have to do it on our own. I won't be hard. She positively STINKS of yoki."

Artemis nodded, thinking perhaps he might be in over his head.
