"Kiyomi, don't forget to wear your winter uniform. It's starting to get colder out there." Saiyuri said from the kitchen while washing dishes.
"Way ahead of you." Kiyomi said as she handed her dish to her mother and gestured a yellow blazer jacket with her school's crest emblazoned over the left breast. She is also wearing a long-sleeved white blouse, a red bow-tie and a khaki skirt. "It's a good thing I'm also wearing thigh-length socks."
"That wouldn't have stopped from wearing them if the weather was getting warmer." Saiyuri said as she opened the refrigerator door and pulled out a wrapped bento for Kiyomi, who accepted it.
"True." Kiyomi placed her bento inside her school bag and placed a kiss on her mother's cheek. "See you later, mom." She announced as she walked towards the door with Saiyuri following her.
"Have a good day, Koneko. Let me or your father know if you're going to be out late with your friends." Saiyuri said while Kiyomi was putting on her shoes.
"I know." Kiyomi said and opened the front door. "You know, normally, parents would give their kids stricter curfews."
"That's true, but your father and I trust you kids since we raised you to making your own decisions so each of you have the opportunity to reflect on them and learn." Saiyuri explained.
"Why do I get the feeling that you got that information from a book?"
"Not a book. The internet." Saiyuri's response caused both of them to laugh. "Now get going or else you're going to be late."
"Right. See ya." Kiyomi waved her mother as she walked out and closed the door behind her.
School is about half way done and the bell rang, indicating a lunch break. As everyone is eating their lunches, Tsuna pulled out his wrapped bento and thought, 'I'll invite her to eat lunch with me first.' Just as he turned around towards Kyoko, Yamamoto appeared in front of him with his bento in his hands.
"Hey, Tsuna. Let's eat lunch together." Yamamoto said with his usual smile on his face.
"Yamamoto-kun…"
Gokudera appeared out of nowhere with a plastic bag on his hand and shouted, "I'm the one that's gonna eat with the 10th! Don't invite the 10th without permission, you baseball-maniac!"
"Gokudera-kun, too."
"Calm down, Gokudera." The boy turned their heads at the door to see Kiyomi walking towards them with her own bento. "I can practically hear you down the hallway. Why don't we all just sit down and enjoy our lunch together?"
"Kiyomi…"
"Where do you want to eat today?" Hana asked Kyoko.
"Dunno. How about the courtyard?" Kyoko suggested.
"That sounds fine. The weather's good, too." Hana agreed as she and Kyoko walked out of the classroom with their lunch, causing Tsuna to drop his head in despair.
Kiyomi noticed his actions and Kyoko leaving with her friend. "Oops. Sorry, Tsuna."
"It's okay. It's not your fault." Tsuna said as his friends sat around his desk and started to eat their lunch.
"Wait, you weren't planning on inviting Sasagawa, were you?" Yamamoto asked. "Then, I'm sorry."
"Is that true, 10th? I'll cheer you on!" Gokudera exclaimed
"What are you saying? That's not it." Tsuna quickly denied out of embarrassment.
"I'm sure you'll do great!"
"No, um…Besides, I'm just-"
"That's not true." Yamamoto said with a smile.
"That's right!" Gokudera clutched his fist around his bread, spilling out the filling in the process. "Even if things don't work out, it's the fault of the women for lacking good taste!"
"Excuse me?" Gokudera turned his attention to Kiyomi who asked, "Are you saying that I'm lacking good taste?" Her question caused Gokudera to freeze up.
"Uh…Well, I mean…" Gokudera trailed off when Kiyomi started to giggle. "I'm only joking, Gokudera. But you need to careful what you say about girls. Some of them won't take comments like that lightly."
"R-Right. Sorry." Gokudera said.
"Anyway, here." Kiyomi handed him a napkin. "You might want to wipe some of the filling off of your hand."
"Thanks." Gokudera accepted the napkin and cleaned his hand. "But aside from you and your family, Kiyomi, women are just loud and troublesome."
Noticing movement by the door, Kiyomi turned her attention to see two girls peeking inside the classroom. She noticed that their attention is solely on Gokudera with love-filled eyes.
"There's Gokudera-kun!" One of the girls squealed.
"He's so cool and handsome."
"Yamamoto-kun." A voice called out. Kiyomi turned her head in front to see another girl standing by Yamamoto with a bento in her hands. "If you'd like, please eat this." She offered the bento to Yamamoto.
"For me? Why?" Yamamoto asked as he accepted the bento. "But thanks!" His acceptance made the girl very happy as she walked away.
"Aren't the girls nice?" Yamamoto asked. "They share food from time to time."
'I sometimes forget how dense you are, Yamamoto.' Kiyomi thought to herself with a sweat drop on the back of her head.
"Um…Kiyomi." Kiyomi turned her head to see a boy standing beside her with his cheeks slightly red. "I just want to say that…um…" The boy stuttered before pulling out a sealed envelope from behind his back. "Please accept this!"
Kiyomi accepted the envelope and said, "Thank you. I'll read it when I get the chance." Her words brought a smile on the boy's face before walking away.
"What is it?" Tsuna asked.
"Possibly another love letter." Kiyomi said while placing the envelope down on the desk. "I practically get at a couple of these letters every other day."
'I forgot these three are super popular.' Tsuna thought to himself with a bit of sweat on the side of his face.
"Tsuna, do you want some? It looks good." Yamamoto offered the extra bento to Tsuna.
"10th!" Gokudera shoved his bread at Tsuna's face. "Have some of my bread, too!"
"Um!"
Hearing some noise, everyone turned their attention behind Tsuna to see Reborn appearing out of nowhere from the floor. "You sure are popular, Tsuna. To your subordinates." Reborn commented.
"That's no better!" Tsuna cried out.
"I just notice something." Everyone turned their attention to Yamamoto who is looking down at Kiyomi's bento. "Your lunch looks really good today." Yamamoto commented. Everyone looked down at the bento to see it was filled with a couple of fried eggs, a good amount of white rice, cooked vegetables and a few pieces of chicken teriyaki.
"Thanks. It's just leftovers from last night's dinner." Kiyomi said while her friends stared at the bento with a bit of drool forming at the corner of their mouths.
"Um…What's inside these fried eggs?" Tsuna asked.
"Oh, we had some eel leftover last night, so I added it in." Kiyomi answered.
'Kiyomi's family must be rich if they're eating eel.' Yamamoto thought to himself.
'You don't usually see leftovers for eel.' Gokudera thought to himself.
'The only thing that's ever leftover at my house are crumbs.' Tsuna thought to himself.
"This is the place." Kiyomi said as she stood in front of a cake store in the Namimori Shopping District. She received a text from her mother, asking her to pick up a cake for the house. Once school was done, she quickly went home and changed clothes. She is now wearing a black polo t-shirt with pink collar, bluish-grey pleated skirt, a pair of navy blue above-the-knee socks and black flats. To keep herself warm, she put on a short cyan long-sleeve jacket.
Kiyomi entered the store and peered down at the multiple cakes they have in the display case. "Goodness, there's so many choices. I don't know which to get." Kiyomi said to herself while holding her chin with her index finger and thumb.
Hearing the door opening, she turned her head to see Kyoko walking in. "Hey, Kyoko-chan." She greeted, causing Kyoko to jump a bit. "Is everything okay?"
"K-Kiyomi-chan. Sorry, you just took me by surprise." Kyoko said as she walked towards Kiyomi. "You're here for some cake too?"
"Yeah. My mother asked me to pick one up after school."
"As expected of you, that's so nice of you."
"The only problem is that there's so many choices and they look so good, I don't know which one to choose." Kiyomi said when she turned her attention back at the cakes.
"What about this one, Kiyomi-chan?" Kyoko pointed a cake covered in a chocolate glaze.
Kiyomi walked over to Kyoko and stared at the cake with fascination in her eyes. "Ooh. What is this?"
"That is called an Opera cake, a French cake." A woman replied from behind the display cases.
"I've never heard of an Opera cake." Kyoko said.
"Me neither." Kiyomi agreed.
"It's made with layers of almond sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup, layered with ganache and coffee French buttercream, and covered in a chocolate glaze." The woman explained.
"That sounds delicious!" Kyoko exclaimed.
"Well, I'm sold. Ma'am, I'll take the whole Opera cake to go, please." Kiyomi requested.
"Of course." The woman nodded. "I'll get the cake all set for you."
"Thank you." Kiyomi nodded her head.
The woman turned her attention to Kyoko and asked, "Have you decided on what cake you want, miss?"
"Yes. I'll take this one, this one and this one, please." Kyoko responded as she pointed at three different types of cakes.
"Right away." The woman walked away to boxed up the cakes the girls requested.
"That's some serious sweet tooth there, Kyoko-chan." Kiyomi commented, causing Kyoko to jump a bit. "I'm not judging. I'm just saying."
The woman came back and handed the girls their own box. "Here you are, girls. Enjoy your cake."
"Thank you." The girls said as they accepted their box. As they were about to make their way to the door, they noticed Tsuna and Haru.
'How did we not hear them coming in the store?' Kiyomi asked herself.
"Oh, Tsuna-kun." Kyoko called out, causing Tsuna to flinch as he slowly turned his head towards her.
"Hey, Tsuna, Haru." Kiyomi greeted.
"I, um, Kyoko-chan…This is…" Tsuna stuttered, which Kiyomi assumes that he's trying to come up with an 'excuse'.
"Uh…This is…Once a month!" Kyoko exclaimed with her cheeks slightly red, causing Tsuna and Kiyomi to blink a couple of times. Kyoko held up her box and said, "I decided that, once a month, I'll eat as much cake as I like. It's not like I'm eating three pieces a day!"
"I see." Tsuna said with a small sweat drop on his face.
'No one asked you that, Kyoko-chan.' Kiyomi thought to herself.
"That's the same as Haru!" Haru exclaimed in excitement. "Haru buys a lot of cake on Haru Appreciation Day as a reward to myself!"
"You're the same as me!" Kyoko exclaimed.
"In Haru's case, I can't miss out on this shop's mille-feuille!" Haru stated as she pointed at a piece of mille-feuille that was right next to her.
"And the cream puff!" Kyoko added as she pointed at a piece of cream puff next to the mille-feuille. They turned towards one another and let out a giggle.
"I'm being forgotten." Tsuna muttered with tears running down his face.
"There, there." Kiyomi patted him gently on his head.
"It's no good to just stand around and talk." A voice said, grabbing everyone's attention. They turned to the side to see Reborn dressed in a kimono with a bowl of matcha. "We'll at least offer tea."
"Why powdered green tea?!" Tsuna exclaimed.
"Reborn-chan!" Haru greeted while she, Kyoko and Kiyomi kneeled down to Reborn.
"Hello! You look adorable today, too!" Kyoko greeted.
"Hey there, Reborn." Kiyomi greeted with a nod of her head.
"Ciaossu!" Reborn greeted. "So, let's go."
"Huh?!"
Kiyomi looked over her shoulder to see the excitement written all over Tsuna's face. 'Geez, Tsuna. Can you make it more obvious that you've got a thing for Kyoko?' She thought to herself with a small sweat drop on her head.
"How do you like it, Reborn-kun?" Kyoko asked as she and Haru were eating their cakes in Tsuna's bedroom with Reborn and I-Pin joining them.
"The mont blanc is good." Reborn commented.
"I'm so glad. That's Haru's recommendation." Haru stated.
"It always ends up like this." Tsuna whispered to Kiyomi as they are sitting on the other side of the table.
"But I thought you wanted to spend some time with Kyoko. I mean, that is what you said at school, right?" Kiyomi asked in a teasing tone.
"I didn't mean like this." Tsuna groaned.
"I know. I'm just teasing." Kiyomi said with a teasing smile.
"Here you are, I-Pin-chan." Kyoko offered I-Pin a piece of strawberry shortcake.
"Shei-shei." I-Pin accepted the cake.
"We bought a lot, so there's more if you want it." Haru offered.
"All right."
"By the way," Kiyomi turned her head to the right to see Adult Lambo sitting besides her eating cake. "Why are you Adult Lambo?"
"It seems like my child self accidentally fired the 10-Year Bazooka. Though I am lucky to be able to enjoy this delicious cake." Adult Lambo explained.
"When child-Lambo returns, I'm sure he'll be upset." Kiyomi stated.
"That's right. This month's new cake was so good." Kyoko said to Haru.
"It's so creamy and mild! If they weren't out, I would have bought some. It's a shame." Haru added
"They run out if you don't get there early. I was thinking about going there on my next day off and waiting for them to open."
"Haru wants to go, too!"
"Then why don't we go together?"
"Looks like you had nothing to worry about. They seem to be getting along so well." Kiyomi said. "Which I'm guessing is why you were acting so funny at the bakery."
"You noticed?"
"Please, even a blind person would notice." Kiyomi said before taking a sip of her tea. "Are you enjoying the cake, I-Pin?" I-Pin didn't say anything as a tear trailed down from her closed eyes.
"She's crying?!" Tsuna exclaimed.
"Relax, Tsuna. That's a tear of happiness." Kiyomi stated.
"We all go through the same thing. If it's delicious it just wants to make you cry." Haru added.
"She really is a girl." Kyoko added.
"Really?!" Tsuna exclaimed.
"I-Pin's never had anything so good. So, I thank you." I-Pin pulled out a gyoza bun on each hand. "My secret Gyoza buns."
"We'll have the Gyoza buns later. We're eating cake now, after all." Tsuna said.
"It looks delicious!" Kyoko and Haru said as they each accepted a gyoza bun. "Itadakimasu!" The girls took a bite of the bun.
"Kyoko-chan, too." Tsuna muttered.
"The young Vongola doesn't know how to treat women." Adult Lambo stated while eating his cake.
"Huh?"
"Women are kittens with mystical stomachs."
"Huh? Kittens?" Kiyomi asked with a risen eyebrow.
"Are you an adult in that way?" Tsuna thought out loud.
"It's so juicy!" Haru commented.
"The garlic makes it so good!" Kyoko added.
Suddenly, the girls went completely silent and their bodies froze up; grabbing everyone's attention. "Kyoko-chan? Haru?" Tsuna called out. The girls didn't give a response and their bodies fell backwards as they fall into unconsciousness.
"Aiya!"
"Kyoko-chan! Haru!" Kiyomi cried out as she jumped up on her feet.
"What's the matter?" Tsuna asked in worry.
"It's a kind of Poison Cooking." A voice responded. Everyone turned their attention to the opened bedroom door to see Bianchi.
"Bianchi!/Big Sis!" Tsuna and Kiyomi called out.
Bianchi noticed a familiar person in the room and stared at a scared-stiffed Adult Lambo. "Romeo!" Bianchi shouted with a harden glare. Before she could do anything, smoke completely filled the entire room for a moment until the smoke cleared up to reveal baby Lambo sitting in his future self's place.
Lambo blinked a couple of times before noticing a plate of cake in front of him. He let out a laugh before jumping on the table and shouted, "It's cake! Lambo-san's gonna eat it!"
"Hold it." Lambo looked up to see Kiyomi picking him up and placed him back on the floor. "Lambo, it's not polite to stand on a table. Use your manners." Kiyomi said while handing him a fork.
"Okay." Lambo accepted the fork and began to eat the cake with the fork.
"It must be my imagination." Bianchi said.
"Thank goodness. Five minutes must have passed by." Kiyomi said before looking up at Bianchi and asked, "Big Sis, what you mean by this being Poison Cooking?"
Bianchi looked down at the unconscious girls as she explained, "The Gyoza buns used by the Gyoza Fist is made specially by a secret method. One story tells that one Gyoza bun contains the essence of five million normal dumplings. It can only be eaten by those who've trained in the Gyoza Fist. If a normal person were to eat it, that'd be their end."
"What?!" Both Tsuna and Kiyomi shouted.
"I-Pin, weren't you told by your master not to give the Gyoza buns to others?" Reborn asked.
I-Pin pondered for a moment before she gasped, "I-Pin was told!"
"What?!" Tsuna exclaimed.
"I-Pin, you should've known better." Kiyomi scolded.
"I-Pin sorry." I-Pin dropped her head in despair.
Kiyomi sighed before gently rubbing I-Pin's head, causing her to look up. "I'm not mad at you, I-Pin. Just learn to be more careful, okay?" I-Pin smiled and nodded her head.
"Does that mean Kyoko-chan and Haru will die?!" Tsuna exclaimed.
"It seems like it's just a matter of time." Bianchi responded.
"Oh, no!" Tsuna shouted with widen eyes.
"Wait a minute…Where's that perverted Dr. Shamal? He can cure them, right?" Kiyomi asked.
"You're right! He should be happy to check out female patients!" Tsuna agreed.
"His personality aside, he's very skilled." Bianchi commented.
"He's not in Japan right now." Everyone turned their heads towards Reborn who stated, "He returned to Italy on business."
"Just when we really needed him, he's not here." Kiyomi groaned.
"Useless, as always." Bianchi said.
"Kiyomi, what about your mother? You did say that she's a free-lance doctor, right?" Tsuna asked.
"She is, but I don't think even she would know how to cure them. Besides, she's giving a speech today at a convention center and she won't be back home until late." Kiyomi said.
Tsuna groaned while pacing around his room. "What should we do?"
"Well, calm down." Reborn simply said.
Tsuna stopped at his tracks and snapped his head towards him, "It's no time to be calm!"
"She's a scatter-brained hitman. I'm sure that her master gave her an antidote, just in case." Reborn said.
"Well, I-Pin?" Kiyomi asked. I-Pin pulled out a small, bundled cloth and unwrapped it to reveal a small packet. "Good job, I-Pin!" Kiyomi praised.
"Give the antidote to the both of them!" Tsuna said.
I-Pin opened the small packet and poured out a small white capsule in her hand. "Only one." I-Pin said.
"Just enough for one." Reborn added.
"What?! What do we do?!" Tsuna shouted while grabbing his head in stress.
"Now love will be put to the test. Only one will be saved. Which one do you choose?" Bianchi asked.
"Wh-which?" Tsuna looked down at the unconscious girls as he pondered on which one would get the antidote.
Kiyomi leaned down at I-Pin and cupped her mouth with her hand before saying, "I-Pin, would your Master happen to have more of the antidote?" I-Pin nodded her head 'yes'. "Do you know if your master is in Namimori?"
"Yes."
"Then, let's go get more of the antidote." Kiyomi said as she picked up I-Pin in her arms and quietly snuck out of the room. Reborn seemed to notice them leaving and let out a smirk.
"Is your master here, I-Pin?" Kiyomi ran back to the Namimori Shopping District, based on I-Pin's directions.
"Master is nearby." I-Pin said.
Kiyomi looked around the area to see various street vendors around. "It's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack." Kiyomi muttered.
"I found master!" I-Pin pointed at a food stand selling crepes.
"A crepe stand? That doesn't make sense." Kiyomi looked down at I-Pin in her arms and asked, "I-Pin, wouldn't your Master be working at a stand that sells gyoza buns?"
"Aiya! I-Pin was mistaken!"
"Note to self, take I-Pin to an eye doctor." Kiyomi muttered to herself.
"REBORN!" Both of the girls turned around to see Tsuna standing behind them in his boxers and the Dying Will flame on his head. "I will gather all of the street vendors with my dying will!" Tsuna shouted before grabbing some of the street vendors and pulling them towards the girls.
"Tsuna?!" Kiyomi shouted with widen eyes.
"10th! Are you collecting street vendors?" Gokudera, who appeared out of nowhere, asked. "I'll help out!" Gokudera began to pull some of the food stands towards the center.
"What's with all the vendors?" Yamamoto asked as he walked towards the group. "What's going on, Kiyomi?"
"I don't know where to begin." Kiyomi said.
"Are we throwing a festival?" Yamamoto asked.
Kiyomi dropped her head with a sweat drop on the back of her head. She lifted her hand and patted Yamamoto on the head. "Yamamoto, you're adorable, but you're so dense." She said, causing Yamamoto to laugh.
"How are things, 10th? Is this enough?" Gokudera asked.
"Master not here." I-Pin stated.
"At this rate, we're not going to make it in time." Kiyomi said. Suddenly, a familiar scent filled her nose. "Wait a minute…" She sniffed as she looked around the area. "I know that scent." Her eyes landed on a familiar food vendor where the scent was coming from. "Isn't that…"
"Master over there!" I-Pin pointed at the same vendor Kiyomi was staring at.
"The owner of the Gyoza bun vendor…is him?!" Kiyomi exclaimed with widen eyes. 'How did I miss that?!'
"It's him!" Tsuna charged towards the vendor and shoved his face at the owner. "Give me the antidote!" His demanded confused the owner. "The antidote!" The owner backed away a bit from Tsuna.
"Master!" The owner looked to the side to see Kiyomi running towards his vendor with I-Pin still in her arms. "Emergency! I-Pin make mistake!" Her statement caught the owner's attention.
After receiving more of the antidote from I-Pin's Master, everyone quickly ran back to Tsuna's house and into his bedroom. I-Pin quickly placed the antidote in Kyoko's and Haru's mouth while Kiyomi gently poured water in their mouths to make it easier for them to swallow. Everyone stayed silent as they watch the girls letting out a groan before slowly opening their eyes.
Haru sat up before saying, "Haru fell asleep."
"I did, too." Kyoko said as she sat up. "I seems like I slept really well." Kyoko noticed Tsuna, wearing some new clothes, and the others were standing behind them. "I'm sorry, Tsuna-kun, for falling asleep at your house like that.
"It's all right." Tsuna said.
"Gokudera-kun and Yamamoto-kun, when did you get here?" Kyoko asked.
"Yo!" Yamamoto greeted with a wave of his hand. Gokudera stayed silent.
"After napping, I'm feeling hungry again. There's still some cake left." Haru said.
"That's right. Let's all have some." Kyoko suggested.
"All right." Tsuna agreed.
"Guess it's a good thing they forgot about the Gyoza bun." Kiyomi whispered to Tsuna who nodded his head in agreement.
"Kiyomi-nee-chan!" Lambo jumped in Kiyomi's arms in excitement. "I want some more cake!"
"I-Pin want some too!" I-Pin said as she jumped into Kiyomi's arms.
"All right, you two can have one more, but only after dinner." Kiyomi said.
"It's all right, Kiyomi." Everyone looked up to see Bianchi standing at the bedroom door with a purple cake in her hands. "I've got enough for everyone." Gokudera groaned in pain before falling on his back.
"As good as that looks, Big Sis, I need to head back home." Kiyomi said as she placed the kids on the floor and got up on her feet. "Thanks for having me over, Tsuna. I'll see you guys at school." Kiyomi walked out of the room with her friends waving and saying their goodbyes.
After taking her cake out of the refrigerator and putting her shoes on, she walked out of the house and began to make her way to her house. "I'm glad both Kyoko-chan and Haru are safe. It's also nice to see them getting along with each other. I'm sure that Tsuna will confess his feelings to Kyoko-chan when the time is right."
