StevenZ12 : Good day to y'all :) Hope that you are doing good in these troubled times. I'm doing rather well. Just had my officer gig more or less hiatused due to a flare of cases. So i have even more time to write haha. Hopefully it's going better on you guys's side. Anyhow, enjoy your read :)

Previously on Nuevo : Andre faced Jade Forest's gym leader, Forrest. After what ended up being a very competitive match where both trainer demonstrated their strategies and grit, Andre was able to leave the gym with the W. The trio is now continuing on their adventures. What awaits them on this episode?

Chapter 16 : A simian story.

Andre, Snow and Sven were walking on route 4. It was a rather nice and scenic route filled with nature and sunlight. A gentle breeze was refreshing the three trainers as it made the many leaves present in the trees rustle nicely. The sky was bright blue while the sunlight was occasionally dimmed by the big, fluffy could that were pushed aimlessly by the wind. All in all, it was the perfect weather to travel indeed. Sven and Snow definitely appreciated it. However it didn't seem to be the case for our raven haired hero, who was definitely dragging his feet. A few moments later, a very annoyed Snow looked back at Andre, who was busy... looking at his Jade Badge. A vein bulged on Snow's forehead as she stopped , her left eye twiching. "Andre, I know that it has been an hard fought battle and that you've won your first badge, but can you please stop staring at it like you just won the Gold medal or something ? You are dragging us down right now !" She shouted, her feet tapping the ground in annoyance.

"Yeah dude. I mean it's neat and all but you look like a Meowth who just found his first Lucky Charm" Sven added, smiling at the whole scene. Even Vixen and Itzatl, who were walking side by side, sounded a little peeved as well, looking occasionally at Andre like they wanted to bite him.

"Seriously...it's getting a little annoying" Growled the Salt Lizard Pokemon, shooting an irritated glare to his trainer.

"I Agree...Can't he just snap out of his adoration instead ?" The fox pokemon growled in aggravation, thinking if would she should burn him or no...

"For once we agree.'' Aguade added.

The whole gang kept walking on the green road until they reached the outskirts of a thick looking forest from which a lot of cries could be heard. These cries became louder and louder as the trio walked closer to the forest.

"Arceus, can someone tell me what is making all this noise..." Andre asked as he returned his Peppit while Snow did the same with Flora.

"I have no idea...maybe that forest is populated by a lot of pokemons or it's the migrating season." Snow replied before gaining a wily smile, turning to Andre. "How come you can even hear those cries, absorbed in your comtemplation of your badge like a 10 year old kid?" She asked while jabbing his side playfully.

Andre frowned a little. "Hey i'm not some kind of dork who would simply do that you know ?" He argued as Snow started laughing heartfully. She then flicked the raven haired's forehead and ran ahead. Andre quickly followed, wanting to give her a "hellish payback" as his sister would say.

"Hey you two Lovebirds, I'd suggest you to stop before you get mobbed by what's inside...I ain't got no insurance for you two..." Sven said after watching them for a while, his faithful Gilla perched up his shoulder. Upon hearing his voice, both teen slowed down to let Sven catch up to them. They then stopped for dinner in a meadow that was directly in front of the entrance of the forest. Snow immediately took charge since she would be the one to cook today. The girl had been asking Sven to teach her how to cook so she could become more responsible. Andre decided to let her learn all she could first. He would learn by himself, he said. The white haired teen then gave tasks to everyone.

" Okay, Sven and Andre, Set up the table and the cooking wares. Once you'll be done, Andre please go fetch some water with Aguade. I'll send Vixen with you so you'll have better protection against the plethora of grass type i'm sure you'll encounter in here..." She explained to the raven haired trainer.

"But Snowy, i do have a Peppit, he's fire type too... Not that I don't want Vixen's company but..." Andre pleaded. Snow however would have none of that. "Just trust me okay, Beside I wanted Peppit and Flora to go fetch some more berries to agrement our dinner anyway." She said. However, her smile seemed to hide some potential hidden meaning. Sven who was getting some of the cooking gear ready smiled at that. He knew what the girl was really after. " Can't blame a girl her age playing matchmaker..." He muttered to Gilla, whose eyes opened in realization. "Oh so that's what's she's after..." The poison type whispered in his own language back to his trainer. The older teen chuckled, a little amused by his Starter's slow picking mind.

"Well alright then, if you say so Snow." Andre conceded, helping Sven set up the table for dinner.

A few minutes afterward, the whole set was ready. After Peppit and Aguade cleared a spot and Alpint made a deep enough hole on the ground. The crew went to fetch rocks to create a fireplace. Once the rock filled hole had been filled with leafages and wood branches, a fire was lit and Snow had went to cook a stew.
Sven stayed by her side to supervise her cooking. As Andre , Vixen and Iztatl started to leave for the forest's pond, Sven stopped them to give them advice. "Okay Folks. I'll be brief. This forest we're entering on is called the forrest of Monkeys...that's the reason for all the noise you've been hearing lately...and inside the forest it can be even louder. There is however one species of local monkey pokemon that could be considered like the "royal" family." Sven started, getting his pokedex out.

"Really ? What would these pokemon be ?" Andre asked, genuinly interested.

"Patience my Arcanine friend. Here they are." Sven said, showing him the picture of three Pokemon. The first one looked like a rather small chimp pokemon who looked a little like a human child. He was mainly colored of two shades of grey. His face and belly being lighter than the fur on top of his head and body, including his tail. On the furry tip of his head, there were like a gold tiara containing a red gem at his center. The pokemon completed his attirail with golden braces on his wrists and ankles. He indeed looked more noble than your everyday mankeys or Pan family.
The second one looked much more mature, with even heavier looking Golden jewels. This one had two fangs protruding from his mouth and a bushier fur around his neck and arms. He had heavier looking golden braces and one more on the tip of his tail. He ressembled less to a chimp and much more like an ape. The third one was much Larger and looked like a gorrilla. He still had a tiara on his head but was now also sporting a large golden necklace. The tip of his tail looked now like a club made of stone with pieces of Gold. The gold ankle braces were reduced to mere ankle jewels but the one on his arms were now massive. The Great Ape also had golden fangs that looked pretty sharp. His once grey fur had now turned black. He looked very menacing and not the kind to be treated lightly. An appeareance fitting for the Monkey King. Andre was very impressed by these pokemon that he had never seen before. "What are they Sven ?" He asked.

"The first one is called a Chimpoca, the second a Simayan, and the big bad Gorilla is called a Monkezuma." Sven explained.

"Mind that when you'll be in the forest. You can't anger that monkey tribe. They are usually peaceful toward humans and normally we can reach the next town before nightfall by going through their forest. However if you anger that tribe...you'll have all monkey families after you. Remember not to cause any trouble on your way there. Some of them might be mischievious as they have one of the youngest population of all the Green district...well that what the rangers studying this area have told. Be careful out there and always stay together you three okay ?" The older teen said to the water fetching trio.
"Understood.." Andre promised, the pokemon beside him doing the same.

"You'd better not cause a scene like last time you goofball. We need this water quickly. Be careful in there." The silver eyed girl said to Andre who nodded, his face a little red." Vixen, sweetie. Make sure both of them don't mess up okay ?" She asked her starter, who growled softly. " Yes I will!" The fox pokemon shouted in her language. Snow looked at Andre again; "If you get hurt in there...I won't be gentle at all in your punishment." She promised the Raven haired boy who gulped when Snow's bangs covered her eyes, her aura suddenly becoming visible and threatening. Andre gulped vigorously before leaving for the forest, Aguade and Vulpix in tow. Happy about her little effect, Snow went back to her stew whistling happily as both Sven and the remaining pokemon sweatdropped at her.
"Girls can be so scary sometimes..." Peppit muttered to flora, who nodded in agreement. "I'm a girl and it scared me too..." She replied as both of them left to search for mainly Oran and Pecha berries, that both pokemon and humans could eat.

Andre and both Vulpix were now inside the the monkey forest. It was very vibrant and lushious. To his right were big, centennal trees whose leaves and foliage allowed only a few rays of sunlight to pierce through to the ground, creating a very surreal atmosphere. What was even more present were the monkeys...and there were a ton of them. Andre was able to identify many of them, native from his homeland in Unova : Simisage, Pansage, Panpour, Pansear, Simipour and Simisear. His pokedex gave him information on many of them. He also caught a glimpse of Pokemon that seemed to come from faraway regions...like cream furred pokemon with a brown tipped tail, which he then learned were called Mankeys. They looked like they were constantly angry about something so he quickly made his way around the little tribe that he had seen. After some more walking, he saw a little group composed of orange furred chimps with fire on their behind. A little higher were slightly bigger chimps with a fire tipped tail and a white crest around their neck and finally on top of the tree, 4 large chimps with fire on their head were supervising the lot who were either sleeping, eating or play fighting with each other... and this was then that something caught his eyes. Amonng the little chimps with fire rear...which were actually chimchars from what his pokedex told him, were a grey furred Chimp that seemed to be picked on a lot. Aguade and Vulpix then stepped in front of Andre, in order to protect him from eventual attacks. Andre smiled, as it seemed that the two mons were having the same idea as he had. " I guess we should go check it out right ?" He asked the two pokemons. "You got it boss, I don,t like seeing people being picked on anyway !" The salt lizard replied , grunting and growling while pointing to the group of chimps. "I am agreeing with that lizard over there...It isn't none of our business but it wouldn't be very lady like to allow such behavior to be conducted without interveining. I do suggest we go and stop this uncouth behavior !" The fox pokemon growled. Her fur getting a little ruffled in indignation.

Andre judged by her indignation that she also wanted to help while Aguade looked at her in confusion..." What was that you said Vixen ?" He asked, question marks written all over his face.

"Arceus..." The Vixen facetailed herself before shaking her head. " I said Human. me. You. Go. stop. bullying. chimps ! Was that simple enough for you to understand ?" She meanly said. The Water lizard then looked down and hurt that he couldn't understand her the first time and strutted a little further ahead.
" Great...now she think i'm stupid. But was it so nessesary to be mean to me … ?" He muttered, his eyes watering a little. The water type then reached Andre and asked to be held. The raven haired trainer looked surprised at that but took the water type in his arms and helped him up his shoulder. Andre then urged the fire fox to hurry up and catch up to six tailed fox pokemon looked down, her cheek dusting red in embarassment. "Why did I do that...I didn't want to hurt his feelings..." She growled before strutting closer to the raven haired teen. All three companions then hid in a shruberry bush near the chimp tribe and withnessed something that quickly twisted all their stomach.

Four chimchar were sorrounding the gray furred ape. They all had malovelent smiles on their faces, and they seemed completely oblivious to the pleas of the grey monkey."Well Shimaya ? Where's our chestnuts ? You haven't given your daily payment yet !" Said one of the Chimchars, stepping in front of chimpoca with intent to hurt. The poor chimp pokemon stepped back, afraid of being hurt by the slightly taller chimp.

"I'm sorry...Simiaz...I told you already I was attacked by the mankeys and they stole all the chestnuts..." The gray ape explained before he was attacked with a scratch attack. Theclawsfrom the chimp pokemon raked the little ape pokemon's back, which made him fall to the ground and whimper. The other three took it as a sign of weakness.

''Come on ! Aren't you royalty ? Prince Shimaya ? Is that really the cries of the monkey king's son ? Are you really that wimpy ?" They said as they started beating him up using mainly scratch and Facade. "You're lucky our parents dosen't allow us to use our fire type moves in the forest...we would definitely kill you !" They said as they ganged up on him. The Great ape soon couldn't take it anymore and his fighting instincts took over as he started brawling with the Chimchars...and pushed them back. He used karate chop on a first one, knocking him out in a single hit. Right after he used Bullet Punch to surprise yet another Chimchar with a solid hook to the jaw. The third chimchar, now fearing for his life, launched a flamethrower attack at Chimpoca, severely damaging him. The little chimp pokemon however didn't seemed to badly hurt as he sent another karate chop his way, almost knocking it out. The chimpoca now started shouting like crazy, making himself noticed by the other member of the tribe. The four chimchar slowly got up and silmutaneously activated Blaze. They then Launched Flamethrower at the chimpoca who endured the attack, surprisingly. However it bought it out of his rage and left very weak and badly Burned. As the 4 enraged baby monkey were about to launch one final flamethrower at the outsider, Andre had seen enough. " Aguade, Salt Crash ! Vixen, Extrasensory !" He ordered as he went in front of the Chimpoca, who looked at the human with wide eyes, not believing that he was saved. Both attacks combined in order to make a huge salt wave which knocked out all four Chimchars.

Andre stood protectively in front of the chimp pokemon with his arms wide. "You will not harm this chimp any longer !'' He announced while the four fire type stood up, slowly waking up from activating their blaze ability. They then proceeded to shout crazy things at Andre and his pokemon...unfortunately Andre couldn't understand any of it, but the pokemon understood every single thing.

"You Idiot ! That Chimp is ours"

"Why the human interfered !"

"That chimp is a wimp but he's crazy when he snaps !"

"Why dont you just die...and take that grey freak with you, Outsider !"

Vixen then had enough of their rambling. " So you're saying that basically that Chimpoca is an outsider and that as such he should be your slave and do your bidding and if you're not happy with him you will just beat him up ?" She asked while looking fiercely at them. The four young chimchar didn't know the fox but it radiated from her an air of autority that they couldn't ignore...as such they stayed quiet and repentant as Vulpix kept scolding them like children.

"Damn...no wonder I kinda admire her... If only she wasn't mean..." Itzatl sighed looking at the sight of the Female fox scolding the four Chimp buddies.

Meanwhile, Andre was fixing the poor Chimpoca, whose fur was covered in burns. He was also bleeding slightly from the scratch and facade attacks he had taken. The little imp pokemon seemed to be afraid of the human. Andre chuckled and gently ruffled his ruff on top of his head... The chimpoca slowly relaxed in his embrace, allowing Andre to treat his wounds. "My poor chimp. They must have gotten you pretty good..." He muttered as he spead a burn heal on his fur. The medecine stung a little on the burns and it made the little Chimp tear up, but it's pride didn't permit him to full on bawl in Andre's arms. He held it in while he was given care by the Raven ranger enthousiast.

"Chiiiiimp...Poca ?" The Chimp weakly howled, looking at his savior with bewilderment.

Andre had a good grasp of what he wanted to say, given the situation. " You must be asking why I am helping an outsider like you right ?" He said, smiling at the Chimpoca who nodded slowly.

The teenager chuckled. "Simply because I don't like seeing pokemon in Distress. I know that most can take care of themselves much better than most human I know, but you see, some like you have no way to defend themselves or lack in power. I want to help these pokemon and save them. But also unlock their true potential. I sure hope that you'll be okay my friend...Maybe we'll see each other again. I think that your tribe leader is mentionnning me and my friends over there to leave." Andre pointed out as Aguade and Vulpix had came back to his side. Right Behind them were 4 infernapes. Two males who was eyeing me suspiciously and two females, who looked at me with respect since I had taken care of an ingured chimp right in front of them.

"We are thankful for what you did for our little chimp. But I advise you to leave now !" The Infernape gently nudged the human. Andre took the message and left the area. The trio then quickly fetched some water and walked back to the camp. Back there, Snow had finished the stew and the desserts that were made with the fruits and berries they had went to fetch, but she was a little worried still about her favourite Raven haired friend. "He better be safe and sound...that guy be worrying me i swear..." She muttered to herself. Right on cue, the trio came to the camp with their cartoon of water filled. Snow smiled at him, which made his insides melt but he didn't show it. " I'm happy you heed my words and didn't cause any trouble.." She thanked the trainer who sheepishly looked away. Itzatl went to a corner of the meadow and looked down wistfully while occasionally looking at Vixen.

The 6 tailed pokemon looked at the lizard and felt very bad...she really should have known how gentle and sensible he was... And she felt that she really didn't want him to hate her. "The Vixen decided to swallow her pride and walked toward the Salt lizard pokemon.

"Hey.. Itzatl..." She started, mentally praying that she don't get rejected or something.

"Hey" Was Aguade's only reply, as he kept staring to the vague.

The Vulpix felt her cheeks light up in embarassment and shame. The short response from the normally cheerful water type didn't help ease the unease that was steadily installing itself between the two Pokemon. The fire fox pokemon's tail started wagging a little erratically... Vixen was at a loss of words...she couldn't talk at all, but when she looked at the water starter's eyes...she felt as if a blade was plunged in her heart. The water type started was looking at her, his eyes filled with hurt...It seemed much deeper than what she had said to him...as if somehow she had reawakened the bad memories.

"No..nothing..." Vixen was forced to say , her head hanging low.

Aguade sighed before strutting back to camp but before she looked at Vixen one more time and said something that brought the Fox pokemon to tears. "Why must cute mons always be mean to me...why does everyone consider me stupid..." He asked rhetorically before a single tear fell off his eyes as he went to eat. The proud fire type sighed sadly. Her naturally haughty attitude was biting her in the a** rather hard right now.

"I never though my attitude would make me feel so bad one day" The fox growled at herself, slowly getting up and chewing her berry.

Meanwhile, Andre had told Snow and Sven about everything they had seen in the monkey Forest.

"Well Well, it seems that you did create some problem after all." Snow sighed, shaking her head at how hopeless her friend was.

"No there isn't any trouble Iztaca ! The pokemon showed us the nearest pond and we were able to take in some water as you can see...however i am a little worried about him" Andre sighed..

Sven gently smiled at the teen. "Don't worry. The Infernape tribe is much gentler than any other...they will treat him well regardless." He reassured the raven haired teen who smiled and started chowing like a madman.

Snow laughed at his antics. She was happy that he was back, but she felt like she still needed to teach him about some more stuff...namely table manners." Andreeee...what did I tell you to do before starting to eat ?" She asked with such a sweet voice that immediately made Andre tense up. This voice was waaaaay tooo sweet for comfort...which meant... that... Gulp... In brief, the poor Unovian was at a loss of words... "Well...huumm..."

"Well ?" Snow insisted, an anime tick mark appearing near her temple and her silvery aura flaring up. Her bangs shielded her eyes, giving the white haired maiden an even more dangerous presence. Sven took a step...scratch that, many steps backward...and so did all the pokemon around. No one could get in the way of an angry Snow...no one. Andre was legit shaking in his boots, well running shoes.

"Wash your hands, wait for the others and eat slowly ?" He risked, hoping that her anger would recede...which did not. Snow looked up and her eyes were now visible once again. But they werent entrancing like Andre was used to, they were cold, almost metallic. " If you forget again...you will be given punishment. Understood ?" She once again sweetly warned the teen.

"Well that look didn't go at all with that tone..." Sven remarked, shivering. His gilla approved, his fangs trembling against each other.

Snow shot the two a dangerous look. "Did you say something smart Sven ?" She asked gently, her voice however hiding a hidden treat in it. Quickly Sven shook his head, imitated by Gilla. The girl smiled and nodded before looking back at Andre who had cleaned up his hands before throwing then up in the air. "Here Snowy, all clean. Now if you may take place so we can eat cuz i'm starving right now ! Why must be sweet girls be so commanding..." He asked, making Snow blush and look to the side and all pokemon in the area to sigh in relief. The trio laughed and they ate. They then stayed to train for a little bit after lunch and then they undid the camp and started travelling through the forest. They were strangely unbothered by the many monkeys inhabiting the forest and they reached the meadow uphill the village that was next on the map a little after the sun had set."Well that trip within the forest wasn't all that bad I suppose." Andre remarked, stretching his arms and feets which were a little sore after all that trek around vine, trees and roots."I have to agree with you, although I would have loved to catch on of these monkeys, they were cute don't you think Sven ?" Snow replied, taking in the pure natural evening air in.

"I have to say that it indeed was pretty nice to make some forest exercice. I agree that the forest of monkeys was much quieter than usual. There are days like this too." The older teen explained before pointing down. " Down here is Chalchiutlicue , A native village of the green district. You might be surprised at what you'll find there actually haha. I won't spoil it for you but I will admit that that place is pretty special." Sven told his two travelling companion.

"Well in that case let's go !" Andre eagerly said before he started running...but was held by Snow who didn't seem to struggle to do so.

"What gives Iztaca?" The teen asked the white haired girl, who face palmed. "Look there idiot ! It's a cliff ! Seriously, what am I going to do with you ?" She asked as all three started laughing again.

"There is a moutainside route over there however, let's go through there." Sven proposed the two, who quickly accepted as the three walked toward it. They however could see that they had a grey furred follower who made sure he wouldn' t be seen.

***Meanwhile somewhere***

''Hey! Stop!'' A voice shouted as an attack whistled past him.

The black hooded figure dodged a few more blows like that one, riding a odd Pokemon that vaguely ressembled a horse. That horse had a grey body and purple, smoke like figures that was vaguely reminiscent of a horse mane and tail. Said figure was focused, clutching a glowing piece of paper in his hand.

''Colt, will-o-wisp'' He commanded sharply. The horse like pokemon whined before launching a ball of ghostly flames that dropped to the ground and rushed toward the pursuer. Those flames hit them at quick speed, making them fall.

''Return with the codex you mongrel!'' They shouted as they tried to stand up to keep up the chase, only to be hit again with another will-o-wisp. Cursing their fate, the pursuers roared to the skies, cursing the thief that dissapeared during the cover of the night. When the figure was out of their range, he smiled upon uncovering the glowing codex...

''Idiots have nothing on me. They are fools to value those useless piece of paper, but hey, the client pays well. So I'll just give it to him.'' He muttered with satisfaction, pushing his mare even further until even the sound of his galloping partner was but a whisper in the wind.
