The adventure of Andre, Snow and Sven now continues.

Chapter 26 - Inception of the Bronze

Enormous claws marks were tearing apart the immaculate walls of the undergroud facility. From the room under them, the sweltering heat was fogging up the glass that protected the upper floor from the intense activity going on down there. Sven was standing in front of a fallen grunt, who was poisoned like all the other he had faced today. To his side, a sole dessoula was glowing powerfully, crowing loudly until it receded. A dessoula he was no longer. Larger, a solid grey beak with a red tipped proboscis, a greyer than death wing coloration and an etheral, bird like body, he was now a Necrow.

''He was hardly worth my time...'' Complained the newly evolved ghost type, stretching his wings.

Sven nodded gravely, keeping his focus on his mission. ''The grunt had no interesting info. Just like usual, it seems that they employ weak trainers and ruffians as meatshield for their operation...'' He said as he picked up his running, dessoula following right behind him.

''Stop it!''

''You can't be here!''

More cries ordering him to stop resonated in a further corridor. Many grunts were now facing him, making him smirk.

''What's so funny?'' Asked a grunt, a Pokeball at hand ready to throw.

Sven looked meanly at the grunts. ''The fact that mere chumps like you believe that you can stop me.'' He said before releasing his gilla and his Ketruffle. Normally drowsing, Kettruffle actually looked like he was ready to battle.

The grunts outright laughed. ''That's your team and you think that you can beat us?'' He asked, the other grunts joining him in laughter as they thought among the same lines.

Sven simply laughed before releasing another POkemon. That Pokemon had a huge body, scaly skin and a massive tail that looked like it could shatter solid steel. The horn was long and hard looking, seeping with a powerful toxin. He howled with extreme agression, his roar making some grunts have a small accident in their pants.

Sven chuckled at how terrified the grunts looked now. ''Not so confident about beating me are you now?'' he taunted before launching his hand forward. The hulkish Pokemon roared before taking of

Violent cries were heard for a while before it became deathly silent.

After a few minutes, the walkie talkie of one of the grunts went off.

''Grunt Zeta, grunt Zeta... Respond. We cannot reach any of the surveillance personnel on the upper floors. WHat is your status.. Copy!''

Sven smiled, as he was currently sitting on top of the grunt identified as Zeta. The Grunt was groaning in pain and was being tormented by Poison. Looking down and getting up, he picked up the remote and threw it hard on the ground, breaking it.

''You should have chosen a better carreer, brother.'' He spat before heading toward the stairs, leaving around 5 grunts moaning and groaning due to the poison, wondering what kind of force of nature they had just fought.

Sven made quick work of the Pokemon and human guarding the stairs, easily defeating them and poisoning them. His Pokemon were in great shape and as focused as ever. The more he came close to the heart chamber, the more hot it became around him. There was also the presence of an unhealthy mist permeating from the chamber.

Sven sighed as he came close to it. This was going to be something crazy and he could tell.

Sven then heard footsteps coming toward his direction. Quickly finding a corner, he hid and extended his sense toward the provenance of the sound, his heart beating like crazy.

Soon, the source of the noise...or rather, the sources of the noises made their appareance. They were two scientist with mask over their faces that were discussing the recent progresses.

''Prototype one seems to be almost done with it's revival...'' One scientist said as the stretched.

''Indeed, we have been working those Pokemon for 5 days straight and captured quite a few more to power up the prototype.'' Replied the other, adjusting his mask.

''Still, I wonder why the Nube Negra syndicate wants to revive these behemoths. I heard that they were extremely volatile and dangerous.'' Said the first one, shivering in obvious discomfort.

''Honestly, I do not care. We get payed and we get to be the creator of Pokemon strong enough to nuke a city. The potential lessons this could give us are far greater than the treat of the prototype going out of control. Beside, The Nube Negra have what it takes to handle the prototype.'' Said his acolyte, not showing any iota of remorse. This realization made Sven's blood boil, but he couldn't say anything and just kept his ears open.

''Honestly Hombre, I don't know how you can be so cold and critical about it.'' The first scientist said.

The second sighed, but simply put a hand on his fellow scientist's shoulder. ''Don't get cold feet on me now. The world needs people like us, who aren't afraid to take leaps forward at the limits of ethic to make the world go forward...and we get paid doing so. I wouldn't let the details get to me if I were you.'' He reassured his collegue before punching in the numbers of the control panel. Sven made sure to remember the sequence the man of science had entered before both man left the room for the chamber.

Once they were done, the Nuevo native allowed himself to breathe normally again. The air was thin and toxic and it was extremely hot, but he wasn't too bothered. He was far more focused on his mission and on what the two scientist had said than his own life right now.

''What do they mean by prototype? Another artificial Pokemon? Some old legendary?'' Sven pondered lowly as he slowly left his cover to reach the door leading to the chamber.

The windows was completely fogged up, preventing him to see what was going inside. He could however hear the moans of the pokemon being exploited as clear as day.

''So...Painful...''

''Pleeaassse...N...no..More''

''Someone...Mother...Father...Sister...''

''He...l..p''

''Please...I will be a good Pokemon...just don't hurt me...''

The sensitive Sven growled as he felt his heart rip apart from what he was hearing. He absolutely hated humans that didn't hesitate to hurt Pokemon to reach their goal.

''I swear by my team. We will rescue them.'' he vowed fevently before punching the number and gaining access indeed.

The chamber was absolutely superheared. Steam was coming out of the cocoon like structure at the center. All around the structure were wires and tubes. Energy rays and pulses were all heading toward the cocoon , heating up the chamber even more. Sven steathtily made his way behind an empty vessel. From there he observed the most chilling scenes he ever had to witness.

Scientists were routinely forcing Pokemon to use their moves in the tiny chamber they were locked up in, with no regard for their safety nor well being. The Move's energy would then be transformed in energy and transfered to the Cocoon chamber. Sven couldn't help but realized that the small chamber in front of him was actually empty. As he wondered what was going on, the sorrounding heat and mist grew even thicker, sporting level of breathable air that would be way too low for sustainance. Sven thanked the mist that allowed him to remain hidden. He couldn't see the Pokemon either, but he could hear their anguish...as well as the chatter of all the Scientist who were frantic about their notes. They knew they had very little time as the mist was growing thicker and thicker.

''Prototype one is really close now.'' One said, typing some entries in his tablet.

''Indeed, and that is without the pesky little flask...'' A feminine voice replied, making Sven raise his eyebrows.

''A Pesky little flask?'' He thought, now realizing that a lot of the Pokemon that were in the chambers were in fact fire and poison types mainly. Also, while he was comparing the size of the wires and tubes, the one he had taken refuge behind was far bigger than the others.

''I Wonder...If the occupent of this little tank wasn't the key to this operation's success...'' Sven tought before hearing a small cough near his position.

''H...He...lp...''

Sven turned around, unable to see much, but still able to hear quite well.

The small voice seemed to see the human stumbling around. He had been so terrified...but this human did not seem like the other human he had seen.

''I...I'm...O...over..here...''

Sven knew that whatever was calling him must had been very young, or very frightened.

''Over Where...?'' He whispered as loudly as he could, after all, he still needed to make sure he wasn't going to be discovered.

''H...here... Ple..ase...I don't want to be here anymore...save...me...''

Sven's blood boiled at the pleading voice. He kept following it until he reached a corner under some machinery. Before of said machines, the gas was far less thick and allowed Sven to see the provenance of the voice that he had followed.

In front of him, a small flask like Pokemon was staring at him with fearful eyes. His body was completely hollow, save for a purplish liquid inside of it. The Pokemon's blue eyes were filled with terror and pain.

Sven dropped on one Knee, advancing slowly toward the Pokemon. ''Hey little buddy...Easy. I won't hurt you.''

The Pokemon backed a little bit further into the corner, fearful. That human didn't have a black uniform...nor a long lab coat and a mask...which confused the little Pokemon.

''Ar..Are you a ghost?'' It asked fearfully to the Nuevo native.

Sven almost chuckled...if the situation wasn't as dire he would probably have. ''Afraid not, little one..'' He whispered.

The small Pokemon was very surprised to hear that. After all this human was in the chamber with no protection, where the heat and the mist were poisonous. He should have been a coughing mess simply by standing before the chamber but here he was talking and moving like he would have been in a meadow full of flowers... The small Pokemon made his skepticism known quite quickly.

''B..but...The air.. here...it's Poisonous...No human can be here without a mask and all those big equipmements...So...How..can...you?'' The small Pokemon asked

Sven chuckled. This little one was the first to question his odd ability to resist poisonous enevironment. ''It's a blessing...little one. But that's not important right now. What matter is that i'm here and that none of you will suffer anymore. I promess.'' Sven swore valiently.

The Small Pokemon's eyes lit up at that declaration. ''You'll get me away of these bad humans?'' he asked with eyes of pure hope.

Sven couldn't not dare to break that innoncent hope. ''I promess''

Overjoyed, the small Pokemon took a few bounding step toward the human before finally bounding in Sven's arms, crying.

''Waaaahhh... I was so afraid...I couldn't even sleep or eat at times...they would have me use my moves over and over without pause...just to revive some prototype...I was so afraid and so alone and...'' Continuously cried the small Pokemon as Sven gently rubbed the flask in a soothing gesture wordlessly. He knew by experience that it must have been traumatizing for the small Pokemon. He knew what species he was too. Phlask lask that young was actually rather rare to encounter. It must had been terrifying to be in that situation. Sven grit his teeth and resolved to start freeing the Pokemon from their chamber.

He released his Nidoking , Necrow and Gilla. ''Alright guys, we have to shut down whatever is going on here. Locate those chambers, incapacitate those who are being used and break them out of there. I will work on reaching the coccoon chamber.

''Count on us boss. We'll reduce them to mincemeat.'' Agressively promised the Nidoking

''I'll send them to the desert graves myself'' Added Necrow, visibly angry at what he had witnessed.

''I'll stay with you boss. Little thing here is too afraid and you need to be protected...'' Decided Gilla as he offered a reassuring smile to the small Phlask and hopped on Sven's shoulder.

Sven smiled at both Phlasks and Gilla. ''Thanks guys. Let's do this.'' He said as they separated.

Phlask was absolutely smitten with the apparent bond Sven shared with his Pokemon. He had never seen that before. Pokemon and humans trusting each other and placing their lives on the line to help fellow Pokemon.

Scientist 45 was walking from one chamber to another, noting that everything was under control. He looked at his tablet, which showed 20:45. It was almost time for him to punch out. He looked over some gilla that was wailing in pain from being forced by an electrical current to continuoulsly use poison sting. The scientist had long been desentitized to the spectacle. His role was to verify that the Pokemon in the chambers were not dead. He didn't care about their pleas of help, or what could be interpreted as a plea for help, since they couldn't understand what the Pokemon were saying. When he was close to the last tank in his round, he couldn't quite frankly be happier.

''Finally out of this hellhole. I can't wait to get some much deserved sleep. After all, tomorrow, the prototype should have enough energy for it to be unleashed. I cannot wait to see if we have succeeded.'' He said out loud to nobody in perticular.

''Grooooooooowwwwllllllll'' Answered a voice that was totally alien to him

''Huh?''

The last thing he saw was a massive purple tail that was coming at him at full speed.

''ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH''

The main scientist near chamber recoiled in fright. In the span of a few minutes, many glass shard noise as well as screaming scientists and their Pokemon were heard. The more glass sound there was, the less energy seemed to be transfered to the cocoon.

''What in Arceus's name is going on here. Who's there? He screamed in his monitor, only to be met in silence.

It was then that he heard some footsteps in the mist. Being so near to the cocoon chamber, the mist was so thick that one could hardly forward. The scientist's eyes widened in horror upon seeing a shadow that wasn't sporting a lab coat not was wearing a protective mask. Just a Phlask in his arms and a Gilla on his shoulder.

''Who..Who are you?'' He asked fearfully, backing out toward the chamber in worry.

Sven gave the man a malovelent smile. ''I am your worst nightmare. I see that you had your way with the Pokemons here...'' He said, cracking his knuckles as Gilla jumped down from his shoulders and now was hissing threateningly at the scientist.

''It was needed. For his revival, we needed the energy of these Pokemons.''

Sven's blood was boiling hotter than ever. The scientist wasn't even showing an ounce of remorse for the trauma he had subjected all of these Pokmon through.

''DO YOU BELIEVE THAT POKEMON ARE YOUR PROPERTY OR SOMETHING?!'' Screamed Sven, holding himself back from letting his Pokemon loose on the man.

The Scientist knew better than to asnwer his question. Instead he sent a pokeball forward. Out of it came a small blue orb like POkemon with a pair of hands and a red like appendage on top of its head.

''I don't care, what do you thing about our experiments. We have a mission and we wiil do it. No Matter what, no matter how. This is just a job for us.'' The scientist said as Sven narrowed his eyes at the Pokemon.

''An Atomite, normal/Electric type. A small, annoying speedster. He would have to be careful as there was no time to waste.

''I'll shut this whole place down then. The Pokemon already have been freed and are escaping thanks to my Nidoking. I'll crush you while he's busy doing that.

THe scientist once again didn't respond to Sven's threat. ''Atomite, Discharge.'' He dispassionately commanded his small POkemon.

''GIlla, front and center. Block that attack with Mud Bomb.'' Commanded the Poison type trainer. ''Coming right up chief.'' Gilla said as he opened his mouth, firing poweful folley of mud that completely nullified the discharge attack.

You are going to need to do better than that friend. My Pokemon aren't that weak. Sven taunted as the small poison type launched a volley of poisonous projectiles at Atomite, who switftly dodged.

This time, the Scientist laughed. ''Atomite might not be the most resilient of Pokemon, they Move fast. You won't be hitting us any time soon with such amateurist attacks.'' He scoffed as the small electric type this time launched a sonic boom at Gilla.

The battle kept going for a little while, with Atomite continuously missing his attack to Gilla simply not being able to match Atomite's incredible speed. Both trainer grew a bit frustrated, but at long last, the deliverance finally happened for Sven and Gilla.

''Atomite...let's finish this!, Thunderbolt!'' He said, Confident that the now heavily breathing Gilla was in no shape to continue dodging has he had done for most of the match.

Sven smiled. This was exactly what he had anticipated. He had realized that Atomite had to stay still when using a strong electrical attack. ''Now Gilla, Poison tail.'' He shouted.

Gilla Took the T Bolt but his momentum carried him all the way toward Atomite whom he smashed to the ground with violent force. The small blue electric type did not responde to any attemps by his trainers to rouse him up. A small purple hue appeared on his face as he was recalled to his Pokeball.

''Now that i've made short work of your Pokemon...you're next.'' Sven said menacingly while advancing toward the scientist.

''No. You are, little cabron.'' A voice said from behind him.

Sven did not have the time to turn that he had dropped like a bag of potato.

Behind him, a large and burly man with a Black furred-like Gorrila next to him.

The burly man laughed like a mad man through his masks as he enquired about the adcancement of the project.

The scientist looked away. ''He has unfortunately destroyed the Power Draining tanks with his Pokemon. We cannot transfer any Pokemon Energy toward the Prototype now.''

The Burly man did not even look phased by this. ''Very well. Tomorrow then, we will test it on the field.'' Start preparation for its usage.

The Scientist nodded as he rushed toward the cocoon center control Panel.

As he observed his grunts take away Sven toward another part of the facility, the Burly man chuckled.

La Nube Negra is about to become la Nube Roja and nothing can stop it. The ultimate beast of the Bronze age will reduce everything to ashes.

The eerie laugh of the burly man echooed in the chamber, ultimate ending point of a chilling perspective.

End of chapter.
